I have a 10 year old daughter who will be learning PSHE at the end of this term in school and with her body changing and lots of questions being fired my way I thought I’d give her this book.I did quite a bit of research in to what she’ll be learning in school and thought this book was age relevant. The pictures are all illustrations so nothing too shocking to view. There are two pages on sexual intercourse which I think is explained in a very factual, appropriate way (admittedly I was most concerned about this page and she did cringe when we were reading through together). I’d rather that she gets the facts and not be told different bits of information from peers etc. This book is ideal for year 6 pupils and transitioning to high school.I’ve been very open to her questions after reading this book as I’d want her to feel she could talk to me about any of the subjects covered and not be embarrassed.I’d highly recommend.

Excellent book for young girls growing up and starting puberty, however I did find the part explaining sex was a little bit advanced for younger girls. It was not something I wanted my 11 year old to know about just yet so I glued the pages together 😂 apart from that it's a great book

I bought a few books about growing up for my daughter and this was by far the most accessible. She is dyslexic and finds books with lots of words daunting. This is brilliant as it is full cute illustrations and explains everything very simply and clearly. I don't think it goes into too much detail with regard to describing sex. It's better to know the right information and be properly informed than get the wrong information from other children in the playground.I would highly recommend this book to any girl from age 9 up.

Lovely little book. My daughter has just turned 8 so maybe a little young as book is aged from age 9 but she is showing small signs of puberty like mood swings and growing pains.I read the book and personally I think it explains everything in a nice tone but how it is. I felt less embarrassed reading and explaining things using references to the book and the pictures are not explicit either, she thought they were funny.I know some have said they don't like the sex section however I think it's a good way of introducing how babies are made and what happens although at certain ages I agree it's too young but it helps with the 'how do babies get in ladies tummies'.It also explains about privacy and keeping safe and not to be embarrassed if you need to see a doctor. And it has a small section on boys going through puberty too and how they change, but not in as much detail as that's another book.

This is a great book written in a friendly and understandable way. My daughter is 9 and we read the book together. (always read before giving to children). We had a giggle and talked about loads of things that will happen during puperty. There is a section about sex and it is totally up to the parent to know whether their child is old enough to understand it. Pic provided. Every child is different. Some 9 year old play with dolls and some 9 year olds already so pre teen things. I do recommend this book and you could always skip that one page or tape it shut if you think it's too early for your child. I wish these books existed when I was younger.
