The Nanny and the CEO Reviews
-
Plucky mid-western nanny with a brain to match her looks takes in stuffy blue-blood New-Yorker and his adorable baby boy. It’s so saccharine sweet, I have a toothache now :)

3 1/2 Stars ~ Nick grew up emotionally deprived, and he was determined not to let that happen with his infant son, Jamie. As soon as he met Reese, he knew she was the right young woman to be his son's nanny. Her "you can't spoil a baby enough with love' attitude warmed him and seemed to fill his New York penthouse with a life it had never known before. Reese's heart had gone out to Nick when she learned his wife had died in childbirth. Jamie was such a precious baby and Nick quickly proved a devoted father. Bonding with both son and father, scared Reese to her core. She was only a temporary nanny and soon she'd be starting her final semester for her business degree. Nick knows she's a student but doesn't learn until she's awarded a fast track internship at a competitive brokerage firm to his own, that she's considered to have a spark of genius by one of her profs. And he realizes something else too, that she's perfectly capable of having it all, a husband, children and a career, and that he's ready to make some pretty drastic changes in his own life.
This was a nice steady romance of two people with similar passions to succeed and how they realize that together they can have it all. Nick is thoroughly shaken when Reese comes into his life and shows him a family life that he'd never dreamed was possible. The love he has for his son is absolute, and he quickly learns that his blueblood upbringing has molded him into a man he doesn't want to be. When his cousin Greg asks him what has happened to him, he replies “The truth? I became a father, but I discovered I want to be a dad. Ms. Chamberlain is teaching me how.” I think I fell in love with Nick too, then. This is a charming romance that was a true pleasure to read. -
So he stayed at home everyday and she went to work .. i hate that the Hero sacrificed everything for her and she was so selfish ..

From the moment Reese Chamberlain slid into Nick Wainwright’s limousine, she was hooked. The CEO’s dark good looks and his son, Jamie’s, delightful little smile made a pretty compelling package. Still, Reese couldn’t allow herself to get involved in their lives too deeply. A nanny did not fall in love with her boss! Reese had some career plans of her own, too. In just three short months she’d be gone, furthering her education and hopefully, securing a suitable position at one of the big brokerage firms. She had to remember that. Ah, if only she could tell her heart.
Over the weeks, Reese set up a nursery in Nick’s opulent apartment and little by little, showed him how to be a good father. The Wainwrights were born from quality stock. There was no doubt about that. His family was polished, wealthy and cold. Taking care of children was for nurses and nannies, but Nick found he had the one emotion that made it all possible. Nick loved little Jamie with all of his heart.
When Jamie became terribly ill and dehydrated, Nick and Reese worked together around the clock to help the sick infant. In those anxious hours, as they battled Jamie’s raging fever and struggled to keep anything inside the baby, they forged a bond stronger than steel. They learned to trust each other. Nick can only hope that at the end of her three month employment, Reese will stay on. She’s become such a part of their household now. It’s difficult to imagine a day not staring into her beautiful blue eyes or sunny smile. How can Nick convince her to stay and will Reese be able to find a way to make their brief partnership last a lifetime? -

Good book. Would have been great if the ending wasn't so nauseously ridiculous. The blue blood lifestyle was an interesting aspect, especially with the coldness that permeated the family. The told lack and inability for family affection was just plain sad. It proved money cannot buy you happiness. They all just seemed judgmental and lonely. Sounds mesed up and not worth the cost of being rich. Her family sounded more rich in happiness, which is more appealing. I really enjoyed Reece's character a lot. Kind, brilliant, loving, respectful, determined and not willing to settle for a life has a stay at home wife and mother while giving up her dreams and wasting all her hard work. She dodged a bullet with that tool of an ex!!! When she lit into Nick about his narrow mindset about her future after meeting her ex, I was very proud of her standing up and calling him out. She had every right to say what she did after 3 different men in her life told her to give up her career aspirations to just do a "woman's job as a stay at home wife and mother ". She's definitely a good influence on that man and helped him break from the horribly cold lifestyle of the Wainwright family. I just didn't like the end wear he just made assumptions and did what he wanted regarding her job, internship and future without considering what she wanted or felt. I wish she'd have told him off for deciding her life without bothering to ask. Plus the darling garbage was nauseating. Otherwise good. Hos parents suck, so does the rest of his and his ex's families. Loved the sound of the beautiful Island.

I must say it was a riveting read. Perhaps a trifle predictable but when someone as irresistible, charismatic and achingly handsome as nick is frolicking about the pages my critical eye softens. The baby was somewhat of a cockblocker which was a shame, could have done with more action. Not trying to insinuate that I’m a sex maniac however that’s not something I can deny either. I read it whilst listening to pink floyd ‘The Wall’ which was quite weird, probably not the intended soundtrack. It’s hard to really picture the Nanny’s outfits and long slender legs when ‘we don’t want no education’ is hammering through my skull but not impossible.

Nick membutuhkan seorang pengasuh untuk anaknya, sementara Reese butuh uang untuk melanjutkan kuliahnya. Ketika Reese mulai mengambil alih mengurus Jamie, anak Nick, semuanya berjalan lancar dan well nyaris mulus.
Nggak begitu istimewa sih. -
Krótki romans zatytułowany "Niania w Nowym Jorku", wolę angielski tytuł "The Nanny and the CEO".
Sweet romance.

Nice book

Started off really strong but it lost it towards the end. I would recommend it though.

Reece is a farm girl from flyover country with the capacity to dream great dreams and the skill, talent and capacity to fulfill them. She is a Heroine's Heroine. She is a very strong person, yet still humble and filled with human kindness. Needing a good paying job between semesters at business school, she applies to be a Nanny for the summer. Billionaire financial mogul Nick Wainwright is desperate for a Nanny for his 2 ½ month old son whose mother died in child birth. The child has been living with Nick's In-Laws who delegate all child care to nurses and hired help. Little Jamie desperately needs the nurturing and care only a father or mother can give. Today is the day he has committed to bring his child home. Nick's private secretary has screened the applicants and selected Reece for the job. On the way back to his Park Avenue penthouse with his son, he and Reese meet for the first time when the limo door is opened and she steps inside.
Ms. Winters is at the top of her game as she weaves the threads of the compelling tale of a lovely little boy full of personality who not only quickly bonds with his father, but also becomes quickly attached to the loving woman who showers him with love and devotion. Reece's employer soon learns, under her careful tutelage, how to change from simply being a father to become a dad. Of course, the bonding of son to father and son to Nanny cannot be complete until there is also a bonding between father and Nanny. That ultimate transition is not without conflict. Men from Reece's past, blue-blood American aristocratic traditions, and long established goals and objectives must all clash before the happily ever after ending. Five Stars. -

This was a great story of going after what you want, despite the hardships that might get in the way. Nick is a wonderful character who is struggling to be the father he never had. His growth as a person is great and he is a sweet character. Reece's struggle with her feelings are natural and realistic. She is a very career-driven person and seems in my mind to be a mix of the "uber-women's lib" and a fabulous mother. She seems a bit too perfect in that way, but that's okay. It was a sweet story.

2,5 bintang .
Maybe I should have given up on this book. It wasn't really my kind of story. I think I am getting bored of these sorts of novels. Some Mills and Boon grab me, and I can't put them down, others feel very samey. This was one of them.
I also felt that this story was 'told' too much, and the romance was not 'shown'. -
This lighthearted book is what I come to expect ftom the Romance line. Light, fluffly, conflict resolved without too much drama. I did like that the character stayed true to what she wanted, even when faced with a situation she had not planned on. and loved her backbone in the last chapter

A very sweet read - I loved the ending and the changes that happen with the characters.
-
This was great for your typical HQN fluffy romance! (I needed a book and borrowed this from my sister... )
-
A nice read from the Mills and Boon series. Engaging and fast-paced so you don't feel that the romance is lagging.
-
Nothing special about this book. Just a light read to kill time. The plot and the characters are all predictable and stereotyped. It's also full of that too good-to-be-true stuffs.
-
as sweet as sugar candy
-
Terharu...
