"The Big Book of Cupcakes" taught me love at first sight-I'm not kidding. I saw this book last year (9th grade) and I immideatly feel in love with it. I wasn't able to get the book until this year (10th grade) and the best part was that in all book stores this book is apporximatley 20 dollars and even if bought online it would be some where around 15. Somehow on Amazon.com i got the book for 10 with 2 day shipping!!! Isn't that crazy? Which strangly makes me love it more. "The Big Book of Cupcakes" is by far one of the best cookbooks on cupcakes that exists. The book includes Bake sale favorites, simply delicous cupcakes, dazzling holiday cupcakes, kids' party cupcakes, and special-occasion cupcakes. The book also includes the recipes to the basic cupcakes (white,yellow,lemon, and chocolate) and best yet the recipes to different frosting! The ingredients needed to make the cupcakes are nothing you can't find at the local supermarket or HECK even in your house. And the best part is that the cupcakes are fairly easy to make and very creative. The book also gives tips on decoration and the choice to either make the cupcakes from scratch or use a cake mix. I highly recommend this book to all of those who love baking! :)

Seriously the best tasting cupcakes I've ever made. All the basic recipes are light and fluffy and delicious, and the basic buttercream recipe is to die for. Have tried a bunch of the other recipes as well and they've all been great. Highly recommend.

An excellent primer for new bakers. Very basic recipes which Betty Crocker is known for with interesting toppings and such. Not sure this information couldn't be found online. This book would not be high on my purchase list.

I've decided that I'll make cupcakes for my son's first birthday, so I figure this book would at least give me some ideas. I love that the recipes are so easy to make and even allow for recipes made with prepacked cake mix. There is a plethora of choices, so my decision on what cupcake and frosting to do should be easy. His theme is Rubber Duckies, so I figured I could maybe do Lemon Cupcakes with Lemon Frosting and a candy duckie on top. They have a recipe for Lemon Curd filled Lemon Cupcakes with Meringue, which I thought might be fun. Aside from that, there are many recipes that just look amazingly tasty, like the Aztec Chile-Chocolate Cupcakes with Cinnamon Chocolate Frosting, the Butterscotch Cupcakes with Salty Caramel Frosting, or the Dark Chocolate Chip-Mascarpone Cupcakes (whose topping sounds like Tiramisu). 5 stars.

I'm quite pleased with this book. I tried their Peppermint cupcakes and even attempted home made frosting for the first time. Great and easy directions, and will probably add this book to my personal collection. :)

Cupcakes are not my favorite confection so I appreciate the beautiful pictures which motivate me. Easy to follow and nice creative decorating ideas. A good book for hard core bakers or frequent bake sale contributors! -
What can I say? It was amazing and the cupcakes themselves to die for! Betty Crocker live up to my standards without a doubt. The recipes were easy and fun to make, and the cupcakes themselves were light and fluffy... Delicious and definitely worth it to read!
