Abigail Adams: Young Patriot Reviews

Very well-written account of the life of Abigail Adams. This would be perfect as an independent reader and source for research for an elementary student. I haven’t read the “Who Was...” version yet, but I imagine this would be an adequate supplement or substitute. There isn’t really any negative/contrasting info (it teeters between neutral and celebratory), but I’m also not knowledgeable enough about her myself to say whether anything is missing.
For those who prefer secular materials: This one covers her life as the daughter of a parish minister, but it is light and fact-based and doesn’t push any sort of dogma. I’m picky, and I will definitely be using this when we come to it in our studies. -
Abigail was the wife of a president and the mother of a president. She received no formal education, but was one of the most well-read women of her times. Read this short, complete biography.
