"An enigmatic, charming and highly educated man takes his own life in Shiraz, Iran. His body is found by his neighbor who bizarrely is named by the dead man as the executor of his will. At first by accident and then by means of persistent inquiries and the diary, the dead man has left behind, his identity becomes he was a famous poet and writer whose poems and essays had been a source of irritation to the Shah’s regime in the Sixties, as well as being regarded as blasphemous by the clergy after the Revolution. But the suicide of the man, who had lived in Tehran, Edinburgh, and Birmingham, has nothing to do with his political views. He had been presented with an unbearable secret; a secret which he had no choice but to take with him to his grave."
