Succubus-in-Waiting (The Veil, #2) Reviews

    Excellent Read!

I totally love this book. Everything you could possibly want in a story is right here in this book and if you are not addicted to the series after reading the first book then you will be after reading this hot little number. I fell in love with all the characters; I just couldn’t get my fill of them and only wanted more. The Amazon women characters had me laughing so loud and hard with their schemes that I had tears rolling down my cheeks and every time I think about it again I laugh. The story was so loving and I found myself emotionally entranced with sadness I even tear up but by the end I had a great big smile across my face and full of happiness.

The Veil Series is a world full of excitement, action, romance, hot erotica, and will have you addicted like a succubus that feeds off their prey. Piper (succubus/were-tiger) and Connor’s (werewolf) romance and erotic scenes were perfectly written – totally HOT! I loved Piper’s Kick Ass attitude and Connor’s protectiveness towards her in the end. I was also glad that the other characters from the first story Ruby: Uncut and on the Loose were still involved throughout the story and even happier we got more insight into their lives.

Avet has once again written a story with fantastic characters, a great plot, steamy romance, and her own brand of humor. The second book in the series, Succubus in Waiting could easily be read as a stand-alone. I was pleased to see some of my favorite characters from the first book, but this story focuses on new characters, Piper and Connor.
The plot is intriguing and flows easily but the intense relationship between these two is the highlight. Piper has beauty, sass, strength, humor and a relatable vulnerability and is complemented well by the sexy, intelligent, and protective alpha-male. The writing of these dual-natured supernatural beings is clever and creative. By giving a personality to their supernatural sides, the author creates very interesting and three-dimensional characters. Their relationship is a slow burn, filled with delicious sexual tension, and a climax not to be missed.

Ever dream of being something other than what everyone expects of you? Such is Piper's dilemma, trained from birth to be the next Seductorian. Piper longs for more than an eternal life of random sexual pleasure with men who care nothing for her. She dreams of true love and finding a Soul Mate.
Being that our heroine is a succubus, I expected loads of sparks and sexual tension and I wasn't disappointed. What I did not expect was the author's detailed emotional development of the love/hate relationship between Piper and Connor that had me wondering if they could make this relationship work.
Love, sexual tension and enough drama and action to keep you on the edge of your seat, Succubus-in-Waiting will not disappoint.

This story is the second in its series and while it wasn't my favorite, it was still a great story with a lot of humor. Danica is a very talented writer and she paints a story that will draw you in quickly starting with the very first book. I love her quirky characters and her well-written (and super hot) smex scenes.

This book should not be read as a stand alone in my opinion. All of the characters are developed as you read each story, so why would you want to miss any of it?

Oh wow, I loved this book so much it was hard for me to put down. I'm not even going to lie either, over half the book was strictly about the hero and heroine and about very little else. But thats what really made the story. Piper is a succubus and weretiger Hafling that wants to find a her soul mate rather than living off the lust of every man she crosses. Conner is a werewolf who was drained and killed by a succubus and now his nephew is missing and was last seen a with the local succubus. He has no choice but meet the succubus and get the information he needs. He doesn't expect to have a wierd attraction to Piper. More often than not, Connor is fighting his attraction towards Piper but can't quit being overprotective and definitely can't let her out of his sight. Piper also has feelings for Connor but knows how he hates what she is and is scared to even look at him wrong. Their relationship is so intense and so many things happen that you don't care about anything else. This is what a true romance...... well, a true paranormal romance...... really is. I loved it, I want to read it over and over, would recommend it anybody who likes intense romances and can't wait to read the next book :)

Irresistibly hot and unbalanced werewolf Connor, hates everything related to Succubi, and was disconcerted to find he cannot resist one. Meek and lovely Piper would have been a total doormat if it weren’t for her mixed were-tiger and succubus blood providing a touch of stubbornness that will have readers shaking their head in amusement. A virginal succubus is mind-boggling, her staying a virgin despite parental pressure is near miraculous and a testament to Piper’s stubbornness. Exciting and full of unexpected twists, the journey to the bonding of Piper and Connor will enrapture the reader in a page-turning frenzy, leaving them wishing for more.

Saving herself for true love, the succubus Piper refuses to be a doormat or to indulge in meaningless sex to satisfy a need. Waiting decades for her soul mate, he appears as a sexy werewolf with a hate for succubi. When Connor and Piper team up on an adventure to find his missing brother, their relationship evolves from dislike, to greedy lust into a true love and desire for one another. With plenty of erotic stimulation, the second book in this fabulous series is hot, leaving you scream for more!
