I never get tired watching Zen's cuteness...*sigh dreamily* -
I'm absolutely not exaggerating when I say that this manga feels like a warm hug. Though beware, there are definitely scenes that will make you cry.
There is this whole arc with cute birds.

one of my fav volumes so far !!

Shirayuki's naturally bright-red hair has gotten her into a lot of trouble forcing her to flee to the neighboring kingdom... but fortunately it allowed her to meet the prince of Clarines, Zen! Thus starts a friendship between a most unusual herbalist and a lovestruck prince.
Shirayuki is really inspiring! She totally goes for it in the name of friendship. I loved what this shows female readers about women. Then it was really cute and unexpected how her relationship with Zen developed. When she ran away I gasped and then started laughing. She was so brave earlier and then totally freaked out when Zen took a big step.
Zen has a lot of eyes on him. One poor decision, one time relying on someone who fails, and there will be a lot of VIPs coming after him. Yet he also is a person who deserves to be happy. I really enjoyed the unexpected step he takes with Shirayuki. We also learn the huge challenge Zen overcame with Mitsuhide‘s help in the past.
I love the art so much too! It has a great style that fits the fantasy kingdom story. And the illustrations really highlight the moments between Shirazuki and Zen so perfectly. I love the slice of life nature to the story and how all of the secondary characters enrich their friends to lovers romance.
Snow White with the Red Hair vol 4 deepens the relationship between our favorite prince and his apprentice healer. We get a glimpse of the past too as our friends decide what to do about their feelings. You won’t want to miss the next volume! -
Another bullet point review because I’m super busy lately and too lazy to do a normal review, lol.
* Shirayuki and Zen are so cute—I love how their love is built on their friendship and is taking time to grow rather then just having an attraction and rushing it all at once. I also love how honest they are with each other and just how much they trust each other. 🥰🥰
* Loved the resolution to the bird plot!
* Mitsuhide and Zen’s past flashback—so wonderful yet heartbreaking seeing how lonely Zen really was yet wonderful due to how Mitsuhide noticed and chose to respect, follow, and help Zen grow despite him not being the first person he wanted to serve.
* Izana’s a puzzle dude. Can’t quite figure him out… 👀🤔😒
* I love this gang of four friends. They are just so fun. 🥰
* I really like Obi, but I don’t like how this is pointing to a love triangle. Hopefully it won’t be a huge issue in the series, and I’ll still like it and Obi by the end. Because Shirayuki and Zen must be endgame, thank you very much. 🥰
Looking forward to continuing!

Updated Review 6/2/23: Oh my goodness, what another wonderful volume! I felt my heart was about to beat out of my chest when it came to those confessions! EEEEEPPPPPPP!
I had completely about that heartbreaking chapter of Zen! I've always loved Mitsuhide and Zen's friendship, but I forgot it wasn't always like that. Zen has really grown SO much even though my heart felt very heavy in seeing what led him to be the person he is today, but go Mitsuide! I LOVED the advice he shared with him! *sobs*
But goodness, Shirayuki and Zen's romance…
I love it so much! So deeply moving and beautiful!
Looking forward to reading the next volume because moving forward, it will be completely new content for me!
Original Review 4/12/20: Fantastic volume! Lots and lots of feels all the way through. From the opening chapters to the entrance of memory lane (which was such a GREAT trip) to the you-better-not-mess-with-my-ship slight ending.
I was, however, quite surprised to find that my view has slightly changed of Prince Izana. I am starting to second guess if he’s really the villain my mind as I imagined him to be in previous volumes. I guess time will tell.
Eagerly looking forward to getting my hands on the next volume! These characters are amazing! -
this is, without a doubt, one of most incredibly romantic stories in the history of all romantic stories ever - across genres and media. and the shippers . . . I can't get enough of these guys.

Review:
I love these characters so much.
They're all just so great in their own way. Even though I've watched the anime, and already knew the information presented in this volume, I liked reading and seeing it again.
There is a lot to love about this manga, and story. -
Read earlier this year, adding late oops.
-
I refuse to believe I actually forgot about zen+mitsuhide's backstory🤠

4.5/5

My heart is melting! This was so perfect and cute! I screamed, cried, laughed and smile a lot during this one. I wonder how the story will go from the next one. I also have to thank my friend who received a lot of messages of me gushing over the story! Sorry again Karine! 😅

This continues to be super cute and I love all the friendships formed.
Zen and Shirayuki finally have some romance :) I love that they have gotten to know each other and are truly in sync with each other.
I also loved seeing how Zen and Mitsuhide became as good of friends as they are now.

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟 (4.25 stars)
I enjoyed this volume a lot because Zen and Shirayuki finally stop beating around the bush and confess their feelings to each other. We also get a sad glimpse into Zen's past. It's interesting seeing how he has remained optimistic even through the events of his past. There's the hint of something different in Obi's feelings for Shirayuki too, which I'm really interested in seeing develop! -
SO cute!! We finally got a kiss!! And then two sad chapters…and then another cute chapter!! I can’t wait to see how Shirayuki and Zen’s relationship blossoms.
-
This is my favorite volume so far the love blossoming, the found family and beautiful friendships getting closer. Let's just say that I love this way too much.

I really slept on Obi the first time I saw this anime. He has SO many great moments, and this volume hints he may have some feelings for Shirayuki, too. Shirayuki and Zen officially got together, the four had a fun adventure in the city, and the quick jump to Mitsuhide's past when he first showed up at the castle showed how his devotion to serving the prince started from day one.
However, I'm stopping here with the material they adapted for the anime. The translation is still clunky. It's gotten better since the first volume, but I think the dialogue needs to be more consistent. The English subtitle translation and the dub script do a great job of balancing both traditional phrases and modern slang, but the manga hasn't gotten there yet. I also think Akiduki isn't as subtle as the anime adaptation is. The foreshadowing in the past arc worked better in the anime, and the stakes don't feel as overblown as they sometimes are.
Besides that, this series still holds a special place in my heart. I might come back to the content the anime didn't adapt at some point, but that depends on my mood. Shirayuki is a protagonist more shojo series need. Go watch the anime if you can. -
This manga might probably be the first one that i get too invested in the author’s sidebars haha it’s just so interesting to read how she came up with a certain storyline or her drawing process.
All the characters are so cute and wholesome! i was moved by Zen and Mitsuhide’s past story TT
Obi might have some feelings towards Shirayuki but their interactions are still as adorable as her and Zen. -
4 ⭐️
Well I’ve reached the end of where I was up to in the anime. The next vols are gonna be unpredictable…
Pls this is so cuteeee. Zen and Shirayuki are adorable but my heart hurts for Obi.
Even in the anime I felt bad for Obi, I wanted him and shirayuki to get together buttt he’s not the main love interest. Zen is such a green flag it hurts cause he’s so pure.
Just aghhh so many emotions in this. -

Snow White with the Red Hair is one of my favorite manga series out there!! It's so cute, romantic, funny, and action-packed!! This volume continues our story with Popo the bird and Shirayuki leaping (literally) right into danger in order to save her and the other birds on that island. We also get a glimpse into Zen's past and how he and Shirayuki feel about each other.
-
I may or may not have let out an inhuman screech during a certain Zen/Shirayuki scene...
-
So cute and wholesome 😭😭😭
-
Okay I've been trying to figure out when the cuteness starts and here this volume comes just giving ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
-
Finally lol
-
Sweet confessions, some backstory on Zen and Mitsuhide, and a nice outing with friends! This was a better volume!

obi is on the cover <3
