The Action Bible New Testament: Gods Redemptive Story Reviews

I liked the way it is all narrated however it does not stay true to the text since we find at the well in the Book of John the woman is not asked how many husbands she has. This is what made e question a couple of things. If you are going to present the text to kids or any other person DO NOT SKIP THE MESSAGE FOR THE SAKE OF THE AUDIENCE.

Great graphics!! Wonderful for anyone wanting to learn in a different way!!

They took some liberties, but all in all, a pretty good distillation of the New Testament.

I own the original Action Bible and absolutely LOVE it. I’ve reread it at least 3 times. So I was really excited to see if the New Testament was going to be just as good. But they reuse a lot of what already in the Action Bible. Some of it is new and some of it is reused. I wish they would have expanded more on a few things like Pauls turn to Christianity and also Jesus’s parables. The list could go on. It seemed rushed in some areas. But it was still good.

I loved this! We (11, 8, 4, 3yo sons) listened to this in the van or while playing at the table. Normally, you wouldn't think to listen to the audiobook of a graphic novel, but this was really well done with lots of voice actors and sound effects. Yes, they took some artistic liberties, but my younger sons in particular liked this way better than storybook Bibles. We also had some good discussions after listening.

I'm coming into this review after having just finished organizing my thoughts on The Action Bible Devotional, I have not yet gotten my hands on The Action Bible. As I have said before in other reviews, finding the right medium to encourage your kiddos to read is very important and in the case of encouraging your children to read the Bible it is even more so. With The Action Bible, I think they might have found something to use as a great tool for both getting a start into reading and truly learning the content of the Bible.

Gladly in this New Testament there is a table of contents, which a reader does not have in the Devotional. There is even a dedication/gift page in the front making this a perfect gift. While the pages in this New Testament are a bit glossy and reflect the light it is not too much that takes away the enjoyment of reading by any bit. The pages within here are done mostly with a dark background, filled with colors and light where appropriate bringing the images and illustrations to life off the page.

This book would really work for anyone who enjoys comic books. My assumption would be for any kid from perhaps second grade to eighth but perhaps even older for one that truly enjoys comics and graphic novels. This one is more on the side of a comic book than a graphic novel, but I think it could be appreciated by fans of both (and even adults).

How many times might your reader have either read or heard the stories of the Bible to have them fall flat and be unimpressed. The illustrations with text in this New Testament can bring the stories to life in small chapter portions. Give those Bible characters from the New Testament a face . Discover a starting board to encourage a reader into the story and perhaps go further into reading their own Bible in any format to learn more. I think that this is a great gospel tool for the right audience, boy or girl.

Not too long ago I had the chance to review The Action Bible Devotional from David C. Cook. My kids were over the moon delighted when, shortly after submitting the review to them, we received copies of The Action Bible and The Action Bible New Testament.

The New Testament version of The Action Bible is pretty self explanatory. It contains the same illustrations and text that come from the New Testement section of The Action Bible. Glorious pictures with accompanying Biblical references and text give the Bible a new dramatic style for kids that are just now starting to get into exploring and discovering the Bible on their own.

Thinner and more portable than the full Action Bible, The New Testament is still printed on heavy paper to allow for small fingers to enjoy reading it without having to worry about tearing. And trust me – they will. My kids have all enjoyed these Bibles and devotionals so much that actual fights have broken out amongst them about who gets which one.

It’s hard to see how these Bibles for kids could possibly be improved. If you’ve got a kid in your house and aren’t sure about doing the whole Action Bible, this is a great place to start.

My kids are huge fans and since these have arrived in our house, it’s not unusual to see them sitting in a corner reading the Bible. It’s absolutely fantastic.

Note: We also received three copies of The Action Bible Christmas Story. This is a 17 page pamphlet that shares the birth of Christ from The Action Bible. I would highly recommend these for any event where there are going to be a lot of children. They are sold in packs of 25 and they were well done beautiful pamphlets that would be easy to distribute and fun for kids to receive. Well worth the value!

Review copy provided by the publisher – Thank you
