When her mother's new boyfriend gets a little too free with his hands, Simone decides it's time to relocate. Without warning her cousin, she travels to Charlotte, North Carolina to see what kind of better life she can make for herself. To her surprise, her cousin Ayana--who's never been that good with the opposite sex--has not one but two sexy men sharing her bed. And the sounds of their loving on Ayana in the middle of the night has Simone wishing she had her own lover. Then she's wondering just what they put in the water down in the South because two more hot men show up at Ayana's. This time it's identical twins, and they're not looking for her cousin, but they have their sights set on Simone. Well, one of them anyway.

Artan has no problem claiming the mocha beauty as his mate, but his brother Fallyn refuses her. Fallyn knows the importance of finding a strong mate who can bear his children, especially since their clan is dying out. He has no use for a woman born and raised in the city with a fear of nature. The problem is he can't keep his eyes off of her, and every time she gets excited, he can't think straight. Pulling Simone out of one scrape after another is not in his plan. Things get really complicated when a female bear shifter from home shows up to claim Fallyn, and she has no problem killing Simone to get what she wants.

I got this book at the same time as Stripped Bear by Tressie Lockwood. These two books are actually together in the print book simply titled 'Bear'. I can't tell if they are the start of a series, or just two linked books at this time. In this story we are introduced to Simone, Ayana's cousin and the two new found cousins of one of Ayana's mate, Blaine.

Simone, after having issues with her mother's boyfriend putting the moves on Simone, decides to head down to North Carolina and visit her cousin Ayana. Oddly enough, Blaine has found some long lost family and brought them to visit the day that Simone arrives unannounced And these two twin brothers believe they are the mates to Simone. Though one tries to fight his feelings for Simone, the other is more than happy to get right to the mating. Simone herself isn't sure what is going on, and though attracted to both, is in no hurry to just agree to be their mate.

I read this book mainly because I read the first one and hoped that this one would be better. It was, but not my much. There was still the issue of things moving very fast and the timeline needed to be corrected in several places. I had no idea where the author was going with Simone's character. When we are first introduced to her, she is talking about leaving her mother and her parade of boyfriends, and I thought she was very young, like 17 or 18. But then you find out Simone is 28. This happened a several times in the book. I would think the character was acting very young and/or immature and then something would happen to contradict that previous act. It just felt like the author didn't know where she was going with the character. I am giving this book a 2 on Goodreads. I will be thinking long and hard before trying another book by this author.

Now Ms Tressie I already know this read was tease and unfinished. with a curtain female shifter is unhappy about the outcome of not being choosing to mate with who she want. but anyway this read is plus and the heroine is feisty, humorous and i'm loving her. the hero's one being accepting and other need convincing that his way isn't always right, he realize accepting to adapt embrace change.

It would be great to if there is a part two for Bear Necessities. I mean it left off (to me) in a cliffhanger. I literally said," WHAT THE H**L?" lol. Dont get me wrong I liked the book. My favorite character was actually the "brooding" in charge twin. I guess because he seemed to be one of the most misunderstood characters in the book. It would be great to find out if they all succeed in making more bear babies Lol.

This book was OK. The heroine was a little ghetto for my liking and the ending leaves you hanging. I didn't feel like I connected with any if the characters, but the sex was hot, which is why I gave it two stars instead of one. I also don't think the plot was very believable and more editing is needed. If you are looking for hot sex and just a fun read, this is your book, but if you want an interesting plot and like able characters, pass on this one.

2.00 Stars. (BW/2 WM). Kindle Edition 102 page novella e-book. Dud. Underdeveloped plot and characters, irregular timeline and a storyline that sometimes loops back on itself. The heroine, Simone, comes to her cousin’s house unannounced with the intention of being a live in guest...who does that? The bear shifting heroes, Artan and Fallyn, twins, are cousins to Simone’s cousin’s mates and have arrived because either they scent Simone coming or sense her being in the area -because she is their unclaimed mate. These situations maybe multiple choice because the author eludes to both.🤷🏽‍♀️ At any rate, only one of the twins acknowledges her as their mate, Artan, the other one rejects her, Fallyn. A strange thing happens later in the story, a female bear shifter from the twins’ compound declaring that she is the promised mate. Artan stays near Simone while Fallyn stays near the other woman except when Simone is sexually aroused for some reason...then both twins come and have sex with her. And both come to protect Simone whenever this party girl gets loose and shakes upon other males. In the end, the author sorts this tangled mess by telling the reader that Simone and Artan and Fallyn are a trio in love and all are on board being mates with a happy loving future together.

The story was interesting but the speed of their sexual encounter and vivid descriptions of the sex scenes did not cultivate feelings of love. It felt more like lust in hyperdrive. It ended abruptly without a conclusion and didn’t resolve the situation with the ex-girlfriend.

This was much better than the first one. It had some depth to it. I liked Simone's sassy character. The relationships felt real. Would read something else by this author.

    Great MFM

I do recommend this interracial shifter romance. Great story with hot love scenes. The main alphas are a dream come true. Read this book over and over.

I liked this book because it had great scenes, better explanation of characters than Stripped Bear, and much more explanation and detail of the story. :)
