    Caja básica de la 4a edición del juego de rol Dungeons & Dragons en la que se encuentra lo básico para poder empezar el juego con las reglas de esta versión. Desgraciadamente, esta versión fue bastante repudiada por la comunidad rolera seguidora de D&D debido a que WotC decidió aplicar más estrategia que rol. Esto fue debido al auge de juegos como Warhammer, World of Worcraft y demás, en que la estrategia primaba por sobre de todo.
    Precisamente, el rol tiene puntos de estrategia, pero la personalización de los personajes y del mundo hace de él un juego único que no puede ser vapuleado con esto.
    En esta edición WotC quiso copiar los Pawns de Pathfinder y podemos encontrar tokens que hacen de monstruos, un juego de dados, el libreto con las reglas y las normas para la 4a edición y la aventuras en sí.

    You could just download a character sheet for free online, but, without the knowledge a guide like this provides you with, you'd probably create a character you later grow to dislike. The "Player's Book" in this D&D starter set shows you how to play by throwing you into a pseudo-game. This pseudo-game not only takes you through every facet of creating a character; it also explains the implications of each of your character's traits and descriptions. By the end of the book, you've gained 100 experience points for your newly created character while also having learning the rules of D&D. This guide is the perfect way to prepare yourself in a solo environment before you throw yourself into a game with a more experienced group. {4 stars instead of 5 because I found a typo. Pet peeve.}

    It's well designed as a tutorial. The 4th edition has a lot going for it but is definitely miniatures-heavy. The way every encounter is set out as a full page is indicative of this. And every class is basically a wizard - the Fighter has all sorts of abilities that act kind of like spells. It feels very much like a Diablo-style CRPG converted to pen and paper. This is not why I want to play with old-school pen and paper. 5th edition seems to be a move in the right direction.

    Excellent for D&D beginners, but isn't really compatible with other D&D systems.

    Quick way to get in to D&D 4th Edition, but the new edition is much better.
