I have read a lot of devotionals and inspiring Christian books over the years and this one would be one of my favourites. I really liked the direct messages as each and every one really spoke to me where I am at. Combined with a short prayer that everybody can find time for and a scripture, this is an ideal devotional for those that feel the weight of the world on their shoulders.

It's nicely packaged and would make a perfect gift for another person who would be blessed by it or indeed as a gift to yourself. This one did actually help me see some situations in my life in a different light, with fresh eyes and fresh hope. 5 stars for this lovely book!

This book has been such an inspiration to me in my spiritual life. I honestly think it has helped me become a better person. It's so great being able to look forward to something so small everyday as reading my morning snippet from Debora Coty's "Too Blessed to Be Stressed." What I found pleasant about the book is that you don't have to sit down and read for hours and the book can last a long time (although I shortened that time because I always read more than one passage a day.)

They're individual pieces that you can read and I highly recommend you do it in the morning so that you can reflect on them throughout the rest of the day. Coty talks about her own real life and different situations that we the readers could learn from and totally relate to. She then included scripture with each one which I found insanely helpful.

The book wasn't just inspirational though, it was also crazy funny. I mean, it came to the point where I almost had tears coming from my eyes, I was laughing so hard.

I am just so grateful that I was able to find and read this beautiful encourager in Christ (the book).

This is continual reading, every year it can have a different meaning. I would have enjoyed stronger closing prayers, they felt a little out of touch.

I re- read this all the time.... great book!

    Cansada de tanto estrés? 🤯

I read a few pages and decided to purchase this book. (Paperback only $4.99) I like how it begins with a scripture, shares a short "hear-to-heart" talk with a touch of humor, and ends with sample prayer. It's not really a devotional book for me. We live in a fast-paced destructive world. I feel It is a well spent 3 minutes of my time to get my mindset in a right direction.

  • Jess (Shepherdjel)

Great quick reminders! Just what I needed to start my days off, more times than not the days devotional spoke directly to me and the things I was going through and facing! 💜

Deb’s Dozen: Stress, Anxiety, Worrying—Not Any More! I’m Too Blessed to be Stressed!

Too Blessed to Be Stressed by Debora M. Coty is a delightful book written to teach us how to get the negatives of stress, anxiety, worry, etc., out of our lives. Short, winsome chapters all start with a Scripture quotation and end with a few questions to help us get our minds in order to put these ideas into practice. I’ll whet your appetite for getting de-stressed with a few tidbits from the book.

From “Gray: The New Blond”: “… there are far too many other things to worry about [than gray hair]. And I should know; I latch on to vexation like a gator on a goose. Over the years I have honed the art of worry into a science. I’ve systematically and diligently transformed molehills into mountains. I’ve whipped pesky irritants into frothy, acetic colon-coaters and fretted over annoying burdens until they invaded my dreams.” Can you relate?

From “The Back Forty: Years, Not Acres”: “Wrinkles form in the dead of the night. You know, if I listen closely, I can hear my flesh creasing and crinkling when I pad to the bathroom in the wee hours. (It must’ve been a woman who coined the phrase wee hours on a midnight potty run.) And “There must be a way to use gravity to our advantage. Maybe ditching our bras would pull the wrinkles out of our faces. But then we’d have to tuck our bosoms into our knee-highs to keep from tripping over them.”

“Humility Becomes You” gives us this instruction on humility: “My friend Rich, a teacher and father, has an infections attitude of humility. When teachers at the Christian school where he worked were told that budget cuts necessitated that staff assume janitorial duties, grumbling broke out among the ranks. During the protests and discussion that ensued, Rich quietly disappeared with the cleaning supplies. When discovered scrubbing toilets on his knees, Rich replied, ‘Kneeling at this throne is no different than kneeling at God’s throne—it’s all for His glory!’”

“Nurturing Girlfriends”—a very important de-stressor. [Talking about those runs in the wee hours] “Girls bond over such dribble, er, I mean drivel. Yes, girlfriends fill in the holes in our relationships with others … especially the sinkholes. Girlfriends make us laugh when we least expect it.” Aren’t you ever so grateful for yours?

And your last tidbit—you need to buy the book!—from “Dead Last.” “… our God is not a random God … For His specialty, His forte, His marvelous operational technique is to use inadequate, frightened people to serve as His hands and feet. Yahweh’s courage is more than enough … brilliant, really. Then there’s no doubt whom the real rescuer is.”

I laughed out loud, giggled endlessly, and had “doh!” moments reading Too Blessed To Be Stressed. You will, too! You’ll also want to pick up The Bible Promise Book: Too Blessed to Be Stressed Edition. Debra gives us in context promises to lean on while we’re de-stressing. Four stars to both books!

Debra and I giggled and yakked our way through our interview. Turning serious, Debra said that today stress is a front and center problem for many, many women. We have to take active steps to decompress ourselves. She writes women’s issues books that have sold more than 80,000 copies. As a matter of fact, Too Blessed to be Stressed has given birth to eleven offspring!

“What did you learn from writing this book, Debra?”
“Deb, I confirmed that there is no one way to become an expert in de-stressing. There are a variety of techniques and coping skills. I found you never really have a handle on it and have to be flexible and keep trying new things.”

Debra started writing at age forty-five. She said God told her, “Debra, it’s time.” Prior to starting to write, Debra was an occupational therapist specializing in hands for twenty-five years, The book that has most impacted her life other than the Bible was Christy by Catherine Marshall. She has been married to Chuck for thirty-six-plus years; they have two children in their 30s, Christy (named for Catherine Marshall’s heroine) and Matthew. Debra has had ten articles published in the last year and writes a column for the newspaper called “Grace Notes.”

Debra has an AA degree from the University of South Florida and a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Florida. She has taken the Brandeis course for Christian writers and faithfully attends the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference. One of her de-stressors is playing tennis—she admits to being an addict. She always wears a hat and has them in every imaginable color. When I asked her why hats, she replied, “I never have a bad hair day and don’t even have to touch up my roots very often.” With a last giggle and a wave, she was off to brighten someone else’s day.

Bendiciones❤️

"Reading, "Too Blessed to be Stressed", I could not only relate to reading the book, but felt like I was living parts of it as I prepare for a new school year, praying and worrying about a family member who suffered a stroke, coped with an unprecedented heat wave and drought and all through it, moments of not having coffee in the house.

Living in today's world of distractions, life changes that seem to happen on a dime and just unpredicatable events, "Too Blessed to be Stressed" is a witty, easy to read, but soul connecting book, that will help many women, who find themselves, feeling like they are drowning in what life might be throwing at them.

The book cover is colorful, and even the pages within are easy to read, straight to the point, filled with encouraging scripture and reminders, personal insights and stories, and just reminders to many of us to breathe.......

Who among us, find us trying to out compete Martha while eyeing Mary and wishing we were like her, but rather than find the time, instead, find ourselves running in a hamster wheel of busyness that by the end of the day, leaves us exhausted.

"Too Blessed to be Stressed" is a book, I would recommend for moms who are finding themselves having to return to the workplace due to financial reasons, maybe you're homeschooling for the first time, or the eleventh time....or know of someone in your life going through a hard or difficult time.

This is a book, that will promise a smile, draw a breathe of, its okay to take a breathe, and encourage women to seek Him all the more, through all of life's craziness.

The irony of reading, "Too Blessed to be Stressed", is that I found myself at a time of being disorganized, being stress and as I sat down to read the book, laughing nervously at myself, at the irony, of how even stressed out it is easy to get without realizing it.

You too, would find yourself, breathing a little easier, chuckling at yourself and taking that much needed step back, as you read, "Too Blessed to be Stressed".

This is a fun little book with small chunks of wisdom wrapped in humor. Opening with a short quiz where you are able to measure small areas with stress in your life and then gauge how stressed you are. The chapters are short, very easy to read and full of little steps you can use in your life to make stress less noticeable.

The sections to the book cover various areas of stress and each section has 10 short chapters that you can use as a devotional each morning or as you have a little time during the day to take a break. (I've included some of the chapter names and a breakdown of the types of subjects in each section so you can see different topics discussed)

Too Blessed is a little gem! Perfect as a gift for hostesses, teachers, moms, and more. I think I'm going to recommend this one to Mom & Dad as a bedside book in their bed & breakfast. I'm sure their guests will love having a little "light" reading in the morning or at bedtime.

Stress is everywhere and it seems hard to avoid. Yet, we have an anchor to help us feel calmer in our daily world. In her new boo, "Too Blessed to be Stressed," Debora Coty shares helpful tips through humor, stories, and Scripture. There are four sections that enable readers to quickly identify the reading they need. The encouragement found in this book will help you count the blessings in your life, rather than the tribulations. Come on and take a more humorous look at situations and dilemmas. Let go of the stress!

I have enjoyed this book since receiving it from free from Litfuse for review. It has made me laugh, think, and count blessings. Too many times the world encroaches on our peace, but Ms. Coty will help bring you back to a place where you can feel power to overcome the problems. I think this book will make a great addition to any library and I will be purchasing copies for gifts.

  • Coranne

I really enjoyed this book! It was hilarious! I found myself going beyond a chapter at a time- not pacing myself. I also read a few of the stories to my husband- he had to know what was so funny that it was making me snort I was laughing so hard. This book claims to give practical steps for peace and stress relief. What the author doesn't mention is that the stories themselves are a great stress reliever- laughter is definitely the best recipe for stress!

Each story is followed by a bible verse and a handful of thought provoking questions. It is simple, easy, and what it claims to be- stress-free. This would be a fantastic gift for anyone who is feeling stressed out or going through a hard time. This would be a great stocking stuffer, basket stuffer, or surprise gift to anyone- young or old.

  • Anino

I absolutely loved this book of God’s Promises. It’s a sure reminder that God’s word is Life and it is True. Not matter what the situation may look like, what misguided people try to tell us, or even what our feelings may attempt to dictate to us, His Word will stand forever, and this book is another good reminder of why we need to stay plugged into the source. When circumstances try to drain us dry, it’s time to go back and get recharged, renewed, and restored via His Word. Ms. Coty not only provides scriptures to refresh our soul, but also she infuses some well-timed inspiration to help readers along on their life pathways, as well.

    Giving this one: 5 stars

To Blessed to Be Stressed...Inspiration for Everyday is a wonderful addition to your personal Bible Study. Each devotion is a wonderful way to either start or end your day back.

We leave in a stressful time but the Devotions in this book encourage us to look at our blessings instead of letting ourselves stress ourselves to the point of being sick.

We are encouraged to turn worry and prayer.

I give Too Blessed to Be Stressed five out of five stars.

    Happy Reading.

What a wonderful, funny book! This book came at just the right time for me (getting every thing ready to start back to our homeschooling). The author has a wonderful way of writing that really makes you feel "normal" with how you feel about your crazy stressful life! This is the kind of book you can and should read over and over (I'm keeping mine on my night stand for quick access). The way she has set up the book it would be super easy to re-read the entire book, a specific section or even just one chapter that may be just what you need at any given time. The "Let's Decom-Stress at the end of each chapter really finishes it off for me! So YES, I highly recommend this book!!! A MUST READ!!!

  • Mary Ann

Too Blessed To Be Stressed is just what I needed! I was laughing my way through this light-hearted, but very helpful book. Stress is something we all deal with, and some more than others. At times I feel as if I've forgotten how to laugh. But as I was reading several chapters... I heard the giggles fall right out of my mouth. Very refreshing!

Debora M. Coty gives some very practical advice all wrapped up in inspirational stories and humor. She writes as if she is sitting here having a chat with the girls. A great little book that I'm sure you'll enjoy!

*Litfuse Publicity Group has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review. ~ Thanks!

  • Ariel

This book is such a blessing! The title says it all. I have always been a stress-prone person, and I freak out over little things that really don't matter. This book takes one common stressor per chapter, and breaks it down. Debora gives tips one how to first accept the stressor, and then slowly combat it and remove it. Each chapter is specifically designed for each stressor, so there's definitely chapters for everyone!

This book is a great resource that I plan on keeping for reference for years to come.

  • Kristen Stieffel

Debora M. Coty has a breezy, chatty style that makes you feel like you're having coffee with her at the kitchen table. She draws connections between her wacky, Erma Bombeck-style domestic adventures and Scripture to provide life lessons that help us cope with everyday stressors. I give 4 stars rather than 5 only because this book doesn't dig to quite the theological depth I look for. Other women may see that as a benefit, though. ;) Overall, it's an enjoyable devotional.

  • Sandy

Awesome!!!! Debora Coty has a way with humor & inspiration. She can take an ordinary day or some life changing event and turn it into a humorous moment filled with inspiration. She has a way to make you take a step back, relax and move foward. Her book is filled with scriptures to help you get through some difficult times.
