Liam’s ex-lover Daniel is the heir to Cybernetix—and its greatest threat. Horrified by people less man than machine and the exploitation of Gutter factory workers, he’d rather destroy Cybernetix than inherit it . . . if his father doesn’t destroy him first.
Years of anger and a heap of mods have kept Daniel and Liam apart. When Liam is hired to slaughter a man in his glass Sky tower, he walks right into a Daniel-shaped trap. Daniel’s father has betrayed them both, and only by working together can Daniel and Liam survive the coming day. They have no reason to trust each other, but as the dawn looms, a bargain that began with the simple urge to live soon reminds them of the love they once shared. Can they find each other again, or will the Cybernetix assassins find them first?

The gutter is a dirty miserable place and the hell hole where Liam the Vampire has been forced to live any which way he can, for the last five years. After been thrown out of the Sky where only the very rich and privileged live. Liam accepts a contract to kill Daniel his ex lover who he believes betrayed him. From here on in everything that could possible go wrong, does. Liam and Daniel are forced to work together in order to survive. I loved the interaction between Liam and Daniel it was great and the chemistry between them was sizzling. This was engrossing and packed quite a punch for such a short read. You only got a brief glimpse of their world but what an introduction I look forward to the next chapter one thrilling ride!

4 1/2 Stars - a intense and tempting shorty - an introduction to a full novel.
A dystopian future world with a shady vampire (Liam) who has just been assigned to assassinate a former lover (Daniel) for a total of $10 million. It is perhaps, rather startling, that the murder mission came from the former lover's father.
What a lovely and intensely intriguing novella (about 70 pages). It was nerve quivering action from start to finish. These two former lovers, the vampire Liam and the hacker Daniel, are two characters I want to know so much more about. Here was a taste of a future world with large class differences and social problems. We have the city in the city, Gutter, a dark polluted, dirty and dangerous place down there right under the new, beautiful city, where people with money and wealth can live. In my opinion, there were also some really interesting political discussions between these men.
But above all, there were a great thrill and a tough, fast and accurate dialogue between these guys. Here was of course a history with a previously never forgotten love, bitterness, anger, a stinging betrayal and ones again a resurgent hot attraction. Very promising for the continuation of this story in the next book.“Oh, fuck you Daniel. Why don't you come down off your goddamned high horse for a minute. I mean, do you have any idea what it's like to be in hell and hold that person who fucked you over might give enough of a shit to at leadt try to save you?”
“Probably feels a lot like finding out the man you still love is willing to fucking kill you.”
Tomorrow I start most certainly, without a second's hesitation, to read the next part of this story. The novel,
Something New Under the Sun.
I LIKE - a very promising start

Great idea, poor execution. Too short, too much tell & not enough show, unlikeable protagonists, rushed, vague backstory. Just... very unsatisfying.

Let me take you into this futurist world where vampires and humans coexist together. The two races work and live together, but are forbidden to play with one another.
Liam fell for a human and in doing so, lost everything, and nearly lost his life. Forced to squander in the depths of despair after his family disowned him, he turned to prostitution and before long became an assassin. His next hit will change his life forever, if he can actually pull the trigger….on his ex.
Daniel, son of Richie Rich, has a 10 million dollar price on his head; will he find a way to dodge the bullet of revenge that is hot on his tail? Better yet, what will he do with the hired gun who still holds his heart?
Sounds like fun aye? Yea, I thought so too.
Crystal clear glass and shimmering polished steel contain an elite class high in the ‘Sky’. The supreme elitists that reside here use the common folks in the ‘Gutter’ to do their dirty work. Super-powered bloodsuckers vamped with mods living in a cyperpunk world. Somebody really needs to take this to Hollywood. I was completely sold on the world-building; it was never lacking nor was suffocating. Flippin' fabulous!
The sexual tension left me edgy, but I was pleasantly rewarded with a steamy reunion. Damn, I sure do love reunions.
Sometimes there's nothing better than angry passion.
It may have been short, but it was packed with solid, smooth writing. It snagged my attention quickly and left me eager for more.
Book two? Yes please!

A dystopian scifi, set in a world where some are more machine than human. 'Mods' to shape every aspect of a being, the sale of which keeps the rich in power and the poor downtrodden.
Liam is a vampire who relies on mods to do his job. He became a contract killer in order to survive, after being disinherited by his family by having a human lover.
Daniel, Liam's ex and said human who revealed their relationship, is the heir to Cybernetix and one its biggest objectors.
Their paths are forced to cross when Liam gets hired to kill Daniel. Yet things don't go exactly to plan...
This novella was such a tease. It lots of interesting aspects that I wanted more of. The sequel is a good deal longer, so hopefully it'll sate my thirst (sorry bad vamp pun). -
This short story has some excellent world-building and two interesting characters with a complex back-story. This is a near-future realistic urban fantasy/sci fi with vampires. The world and its ramifications were the heart of the story for me and the relationship between the MCs took a little bit of a backseat to it. I wish this had been longer, with a bit more relationship-building. However it was fascinating, and I definitely would read a sequel is the author ever writes one.

We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. - Oscar Wilde
Sorry, couldn't resist...
The best thing about this book is the world building. The Gutter is a polluted place where the destitute and the desperate live, where people do anything legal and illegal to survive. Here they produce the goods and gadgets for the elite of society, for those living in the Sky. The Sky is inhabited by the rich and powerful and among them are humans and vampires. It's a society where people can choose to be enhanced by technology with body implants called mods.
Liam is a vampire who was cast out by his family because of Daniel, his human lover, the same man he's been hired to kill. Both Liam and Daniel are the spoiled sons of wealthy families, but now Liam is forced to live in the Gutter and Daniel is fighting the company managed by his own father from the inside.
Daniel was not easy to like and I confess it was hard not to want Liam to kill him. Daniel was the one that, with his reckless idealism, revealed his relationship with Liam, because he didn't want Liam to have his body further modified. He made a decision without thinking about the consequences and even when Liam told him what he had to go through to survive in the Gutter, he showed little emotion, not even a reasonable remorse. If it had been me, I would have asked Liam to kill me already because I wouldn't want to live with that guilt. I also think that it's easy to feel justified because he's doing whatever he can to make the living conditions in the Gutter better, while staying in his cozy apartment in the Sky. I do hope there will be a sequel where Daniel will have to grow up a bit and sacrifice something important too.
I must confess that I liked the technological aspect so much that I felt that Liam's vampire nature was a bit redundant, even if it gave the idea of the social separation between Liam and Daniel.
I hope there'll be a sequel also because the setting is ripe with possible developments - for example the vampire angles was not sufficiently explained in my opinion. I like not being told everything, but I don't like feeling too clueless. I would have cut some of Liam and Daniel's interaction for a little bit more of world background.
I also think that Liam's feelings of betrayal could have been explored deeper. The fact that he's erady to kill Daniel makes clear how hurt he was, of course, but he's a bit too cold and composed as a narrator. Does it depend on the mods? Do they influence the emotional side of a person? I'd love to know.
Anyway: kudos to the author for the excellent world building, it has both poetry and politics in it and the obsession with physical enhancement is also an original element. I hope to read a sequel.Where Daniel has his ass kicked. -
In this post-apocalypse world, Liam is a vampire assassin. His latest contract is to kill Daniel Harding, the heir to Cybernetix, and also Liam's ex. Five years ago, Daniel outed his relationship with Liam. Since vampire-human relationship is prohibited, Liam is thrown out by his family and must live in the Gutter, prostituting himself to survive before rising to the status of killer. However, when Liam faces Daniel again, he realizes that the contract might be a trap to kill both of them -- plus he might still have feeling for Daniel.
One of my favorite themes is story about ex-es. I just love second chances, see. This one is taking that theme very well, in my opinion. The sci-fi element is not difficult for me to grasp. I can totally imagine the world that Liam and Daniel are living in. Written in 1st person, Liam's POV gives enough description for me to understand Daniel's character too. Liam's thoughts and his conversations with Daniel give the basis to construct who Daniel is -- I can totally see how the 'present' Daniel is not the same with 'old' Daniel. He grows stronger and more confident.
The sexual tension between the two of them is just delicious to read. I love how they tackle their past as well as the trust issue that rises because of what happened (one scene is actually funny for me, when ).
Perfect combination of action, tension, and just the right amount of kisses and sex, makes this a winner for me. Plus that gorgeous cover by L.C. Chase. Seriously, Riptide just has some of the most beautiful covers out there. Take that as a lesson, MLR Press. -

The Book & What I Loved~
★Daniel and Liam, I love both of their personas alpha/alpha yum.
★The book was a fast pace action packed read. I love that!
★Endearing plot and sweet mission (it's revealed while reading not in blurb) -
This book was on my TBR since I-don't-know-when. Finally I decided to be brave and start reading. I'm proud of myself that I finished the book, as it still isn't something I will ever really love reading. All this technical mod stuff, the futuristic world mixed with vampires and interspersed with things from today's world, I have problems to make sense of. Nevertheless, the fact that I finished says enough - it was interesting enough that I wanted to know the end. I'm not sure whether I will read the sequel.

L A Witt never ceases to amaze me. This time it's Cyberpunk (think dystopian meets high tech) and it's well done. It's not long, around 70-80 pages, but it packs a bit into those pages.
Lots of reviews. My two cents worth.
Liam, part vampire, part machine - he's full of mods to improve him, help him heal quicker, be a more efficient assassin - is sent to kill his ex lover and heir to a Cyber empire, Daniel. Daddy is none to happy his son knows too much about his dodgy empire and doesn't approve. It's a very well written backstory by the way, it would make any conspiracy theorist proud. Liam is set up, Daniel and Liam join forces and have to leave the better part of town, the Sky, for the seamier part of town, the Gutter. Lots of action on the way. Some world building, which I hope will be expanded on in book 2, because, while it was pretty good in the pages provided, it could have been edgier to give greater depth and more atmosphere.
It took me a while to warm up to Liam and Daniel but once I did it was all good. Did you have to shoot him, Daniel?
The dialogue was terrific - sharp, sarcastic, witty, obnoxious. Everything I would expect of this style of writing.
There was plenty of action escaping one part of town, having to remove a potentially toxic chip in Daniel's shoulder....ah the title of the book! Love it when the title ties in and Ms Witt did it well.
Some sex, not a lot, but when it happened it was L A Witt good.
Technically the writing was just right; I have a real love of nanotechnology/nanobots, and I thought the writing was technical enough, interesting enough, without overwhelming, or (potentially) boring the reader.
I bought this book to lead into book #2
Something New Under the Sun, which I've pre-ordered. Looking forward to the next installment for Liam and Daniel.

Enjoyed this one, short but well written. 4 stars
Cybernetix....good name for a cyber chip company, and you'll have to forgive me if I keep thinking of the Sirius Cybernetics Corp....Hitchhikers Guide..love that book.
Liam Lansing is a vampireand is down on his luck. He's scaled the heights and lived in the 'Sky', the upper echelons of this world for the very rich; unfortunately, when his vampire family discovered that his lover was human, he was cast out and now makes his living (!!) as a contract killer, but spends his time in the 'Gutter', where pollution, crime and death are commonplace.
Daniel Harding is a computer wizand former lover of Liam, the person who outted Liam and the reason Liam was cast out from his vampire family, but he's also the son of the owner of Cybernetix Corp. He works for his father, but is plotting the company's downfall from within....he detests everything about Cybernetix and the genetic modifications (mods) they manufacture. Since outting Liam 5 years ago, he hasn't seen or heard from him (surprised much??), but when Daniel's father Richard decides that Daniel is no longer an asset to the company and has become a liability, he employs Liam to take Daniel out
.
Needless to say, there's a lot of stuff going on in the background that only the chosen few know about, one of those things being that several chip companies have invented a chip which protects vampires from the sun, but of course, company bosses don't want the vampires to know that this chip exists...they want vampires to keep pumping money into their companies for R & D.
What happens when Liam turns up at Daniel's apartment, I will leave you to find out. It was an exciting ride, and I'm looking forward to the sequel 'Something New under the Sun'. -
How far can someone modify his/her body to improve his/her abilities?
How far, can someone push himself, adding mechanic changes, to enhance vision, hearing.. to be... less human?
That's the theme of this sci-fi, but it's not an usual android/robot theme, because in this case, it's a vampire that want desperately to be more strong, than he already is.
Meet Liam the only narrator of the story. He is not human, obvious, because he is a vampire. The story start with him, getting close to his target. Because this vampire, full of technological adds, is a hitman.
Liam not just must, but he want to kill Daniel.
Daniel is part of the elite. He don't choke trying to breath the polluted air of the Gutter, the lower part of the city. No, Daniel is a "sky person", living in his high apartment, in a world Liam still miss.
I can't say more, or will spoil the story. You will follow Liam, the narrator, during his journey to get above, reach his target, and... kill him? Well, read to know.. because Liam and Daniel are not just Hitman and Victim... there is much more behind it.
I want to clarify it's a standalone, even if it's clear there is the intention of more books.
5 stars Great sci-fi, amazing paranormal aspects, and trilling adventure. I'm looking forward to read more of Liam and Daniel world. -
The cover is awesome and the blurb is catchy. That's just about it.
First of all, when I started reading the book, it was like coming into a movie theater when the movie already started. Liam shows up at Daniel's house to kill him, but it turns out to be a trap set up by Daniel's father. Instead of describing their feelings (they hadn't seen each other for five years), they start to talk about business and things they only understand since the author didn't bother explaining them to me.
Repeat: Liam goes to his ex's house to kill him. Does he do it? Nope. But he never tells David why. And David, knowing the man he still loves is willing to assassinate him, forgives him and forgets all about it. Err... your man was going to put a bullet through your head, how can you kiss him again?
A seven story building is not "less than ten" meters high. Liam is a bit clumsy to be the best killer avalaible. The scene where they climb on that rope is too detailed. I got bored. I tried, but I couldn't care less about their relationship because I didn't see them falling in love. And the book has way too many long words. A personal thing, I know, and I'm used to using long words, but it was too much. -
2.5 Stars
I really enjoyed the premise of this story and the world building was good but it probably could have been so much better as a full length novel. I loved the sci-fi/fantasy/dystopian feel to the story, unfortunately the characters fell short. The potential is all here but it left me with more questions. First, I have no idea where vampires fit in to the story arc. We got little to no information about them. Were they a result from the split in the society somehow? Was Liam turned or born a vamp?
I also got the feeling that everything was thrown at us. The ideas were all excellent just underdeveloped. How did this split in society occur? Who got the mods? What role did they play in the split, if any? How did Daniel's father react to what happened with his plan? He's the reason why Liam was sent after Daniel and then we get nothing regarding the father. Lots of questions but no answers.
My biggest disappointment was in the relationship between Liam and Daniel. I liked the characters separately, especially Liam but nothing about them felt like a couple. There was disconnected and I felt the relationship was rushed.
The world was fascinating so I hope we learn more about it. -
This is a smooth, heart-racing, clinical, dirty, sexy, hopeful ride.
From the admittedly sci-fi bent to the very human foibles , this short story is a full ride.
The two mains are well defined and yet we still get surprises.
The settings, and their affects on Daniel and Liam, are so well described. Really, heart-pounding. The pace is well set.
The dialogue works between these two, especially given their history.
Seeds are sewn for the more full length book in the series,
Something New Under the Sun, and done well.
I almost wish we had a bit more about how the Sky and Gutter came to be, but maybe we do in the next story.
As per the usual, her writing is clear, emotional, the heat and fragility of the distance between D and L are well played.
I definitely enjoyed this and would recommend it. Have fun feeling the dank, dusty windy through your hair and your heart battling against your ribcage. ;) -
This was a short audiobook with hot paranormal and sci-fi elements.intruging plot and a compelling romance, but not a new favorite

A Chip in His Shoulder by LA Witt is a really good and often used idea in science fiction. There are a few fresh twists and a brief attempt at tension but overall the story is interesting and fun to read. Where the novella stumbles though is on the pacing and content. There is too much that is skipped over and summarized leaving a very rushed and choppy feel. The world building is decent for the length but sadly leaves out so much. I wish this had been a fully fleshed out novel with solid world building and complete characters; instead it reads like the first book of a series and not a satisfying stand-alone.
ACiHS has a very basic and familiar plot. It starts with vampire and assassin Liam heading to kill his mark and old lover Daniel. Daniel is the son of a very wealthy cybertronics scion as Liam once was. Liam was disowned and disinherited when his affair with human Daniel was revealed and since then he’s done whatever he had to do to survive. Despite their rocky past or because of it, when Liam shows up to kill Daniel they’re both in for a few surprised that just may change their minds about many things.
Set in a futuristic world, potentially post-apocalyptic, with an urban feel with advanced electronics, high tech assassins, and vampires, this story really hits all the things I adore in a story. I mean I don’t think I could have tailor made a story more in tune with the very elements I devour in the science fiction/fantasy genre. Many of the elements and themes used are pretty universal, though it doesn’t detract from the story. For example the extreme poverty versus extreme wealth concept; the rich sons battling their greedy fathers for the good of common man; the assassin with a heart of gold just trying to help the poor; old lovers torn apart due to immaturity and youth finding a common cause to fight against. I could go on but suffice it to say the novella is chock full of common themes and familiar concepts.
Having said that I liked the plot anyway. It’s not original but it works for me because I happen to like those themes. Unfortunately the story is simply too rushed and really short changed any potential these themes have. There are too many of them thrown into too short of a story. None of these ideas are well fleshed out and constructed. The actual futuristic world isn’t explained very well; is it post-apocalyptic or merely futuristic? How did the world come to be this way and incorporate mods and vampires at once? There are so many unanswered questions and omitted details that it’s very frustrating. These ideas are simply introduced, stately plainly without much detailed explanation or development, and then the story and characters move onto the next theme. There is no depth to any of it or any of the characters unfortunately. There is so much action and time spent explaining the background of the couple and world that the depth and development of each element is sacrificed.
For example, rather than letting the world building create a solid background to the story, these details are largely told through Liam’s internal monologues. The story is told to the reader much more than it’s shown and in a genre that I love, this is especially disappointing. Likewise the plot is simply too full and rushed to be complete and satisfying. There are too many concepts and ideas thrown in without elaboration while the characters feel very thin at best. They have such potential and clearly a dramatic and tension filled past but none of that raw emotion and edgy turmoil comes through. It feels watered down and incomplete.
This feels like a great idea that just didn’t deliver in execution. It has all the elements that I like and honestly crave in an excellent book but it doesn’t offer the sense of satisfaction and completion to work. I can’t help but think what this book would have been like in another author’s hands and I get chills thinking how good it could have been. Overall it’s decent but it’s definitely lost potential and doesn’t really work as much as it should. -
A-MAZING! Honestly, for such a short read, I was totally immersed in L.A. Witt’s dark, futuristic world where the poor and middle class live like rats in the “Gutter” and the rich live like kings in the “Sky”. I am a huge fan of this genre and A Chip On His Shoulder was imaginative and totally satisfied my appetite.
Liam is a genetically modified vampire with a hunger for blood...specifically Daniel’s, his human ex-lover who outed him 5 years ago, bringing their secret relationship out into the public eye. It was their forbidden love affair that caused Liam’s family to cast him out of the Sky and down into the Gutter where he has been fighting to survive ever since.
The Gutter is Hell on earth. Imagine a place where the pollution is so thick, you cannot see the sun; a dark, dank place where only the barest trace of light can filter through. The Gutter is a place where people, both human and vampire work like slaves in factories to churn out genetic enhancements for the people in the Sky. Either that or whore themselves out for money. For Liam, it’s a life of cold-blooded killing.
When a contract comes in to take Daniel out, he takes it...
"I shook my head and forced back the nostalgia and fondness that tried to tell me I’d regret killing him. No, that wasn’t going to happen. Five years ago, Daniel had set fire to my life and stood back to watch it burn. The only thing I regretted was waiting this long to come to this door with a gun." **goosebumps**
I was prepared to hate Daniel...but of course, I am a sucker for second chances and from the moment Liam enters Daniel’s apartment, gun drawn, I was completely captivated by the tense dialogue between these men as they uncover their tragic past and a plot that has them forging a tentative truce and on the run for their lives.
Of course, I can’t give proper praise to this book without mentioning how yummy the SEXUAL TENSION is. Their first kiss was so filled with anger and emotion and lust it was unreal! I wanted a bit more for the one sex scene in the book...thought maybe it should be darker, more explosive to keep with the pace of the novel...but in no way did that ruin it for me.
My only real complaint...IT WAS TOO SHORT! I wanted a full length novel out of this one...something I could really sink my teeth into. I am hoping that this is just the beginning of a series of books set in this world because they will be an auto-buy for me for sure.
I recommend this book to everyone...even if you haven’t previously been a fan of futuristic novels. It is the perfect mix of action/tension/love with surprisingly witty dialogue that will have you panting for more!! -
This was fairly short, but compact. It was definitely a great story and one that was quite easy to get into and like. The rest really depends on your taste. Those like me who don't really love sci-fi stories will probably like it, but if you do love stories like that, it would probably end up a favourite for you. In my case, the story was good. I was really impressed if I'm honest. And I am really glad I read this eventually.
This book isn't really like others I have read before. Sure, there are other books out there that would probably have a similar story. But I don't read sci-fi a lot, so it was a nice change for me. I loved Liam. He was a character who had gone through a lot, was angry, and tried to kill his ex. Well, to be fair, he was angry. And it was Daniel's father who paid to have him killed. But Daniel ended up surprising Liam - in a good way. So we had the romance aspect found.
There wasn't anything I didn't really like about the story. Everything was solid, writing, plot, romance. It was just a case of not being madly in love with it either. I enjoyed it. Really enjoyed it. But it won't be on my favourites list.
A personal favourite scene for me happened to be the scene towards the end. I thought it was kinda sweet, while still keeping with the mood of the story. From that scene you can see how much the two MC's really loved each other, and how they were meant to be. Although I doubt they could have pulled off a very sappy scene. It would not have fit in with the story, especially considering it started with Liam being hired to kill Daniel.
I'd recommend this story to fans of the sci-fi or someone who wants to try one. -
One thing this author did extremely well in this story was build the world and pull me into it. I swear, my eyes were watering and I could barely breathe with the pollution in the Gutter, along with Liam. Though the story is short, and setting up the world takes precedence over the romance, the MCs come through clearly, and so does their back story. The conflict is quite original, which is refreshing.
There's lots of action, well paced and thought out. At times, it made me feel almost like I was reading an M/M version of Arnold's "Last Action Hero." The ending, though, had me rolling my eyes up to heaven and asking for patience.
This is happening way to often lately, that the ending almost kills my enjoyment in the rest of the story. *sigh* Oh well, I guess in this case, what bothered me is a piece of the story that was required for publication. -
Okay, so I get the title now.
This book. What can I say? I was rather leery of it because of the title and the less than stellar blurb, but it's amazing. To paraphrase and play upon that line from The Princess Bride, there's action, fighting, revenge, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles...
This book is beautiful. It's nicely written and the paranormal element is incorporated beautifully into the world without becoming a gimmick. The characterization is solid. The backstory is beautifully incorporated into the main storyline. We get a sense of the past without there being intrusive flashbacks. The implications of the world are explored, which I absolutely love (too many books fail to explore the implications of the world they're set in; why create a world if you won't play around with it?). The balance between love and hate is wonderfully worked in such a way that when they invariably come together, it's not awkward or gimmicky.
Yes, this book truly exceeded all of my expectations. Damn. Just...damn. -
3.5
One of the things that made this a good read was the world that was built in this book. The introduction of mods (not that it's exactly original) in an M/M novel, the futuristic money hoarding companies which produce those mods, and the Gutter was thrilling to read. And what's even more intriguing is the presence of Vampires. I wish that was more elaborated on. It felt like there wasn't enough background given on that, so it felt kind of out of place and a bit weird. But it's such an interesting addition to a world like this. It didn't seem to me like vampires were feared as monsters, but rather maybe more as just very influential, power people.
The characters were likable, and the romance sweet, though not as tangible and fleshed out as I want.
It's a short and sweet ride, and a perfectly relaxing bed read. -
I liked this even more the second time around. NJR does a great job with the audio (when does he not, though?); a true performance with the right inflection for when words are described as growled or frustrated etc. - not just read. I can't tell you how much I appreciate when a narrator really brings the work to life.
I remember being frustrated the first time I read this at how there was great world-building but little by way of explaining the rise of vampirism. If I'm not mistaken that was addressed in Book 2, I think. I hope so because my only real complaint? It's too short! Well, I guess I'll just have to start the sequel ASAP... -
Another great book by L.A. Witt! This one was different from the typical contemporaries that I’ve read by this author – very imaginative indeed. The entire story takes place during the space of just a few hours, so it’s such a small snippet to really get an in depth feel for the characters or alternate world. However, the author really overcame that hurdle for me and I found myself completely immersed and rooting for Liam and Daniel against the odds. Boy, would I love to see a sequel and see them take down Daniel’s father!!! Recommended:)
-
I wanted to give this 5 stars, but I had to back down. The reason being the ending. I felt like a pigeon that hit a plate glass window. I am like "WTF". Where did the rest of the story go. I even turned my tablet over to see if it had fallen out the back. Anyway, if you over look that, it's a fun, engaging story, with two very engaging men. Even with the non ending, I recommend it.
-
For a shorter story, I must say that the world building was a bang up job...I could complete picture this like a movie in the head. I really enjoyed the lovers, enemies, lovers theme and really look forward to seeing the joined forces in a battle for a just cause!
-
Fantastic ride. Loved the setting, the conflict between mods and non-mods, the relationship between Liam and Daniel, all of it was exciting. Can't wait to dig into the story even more in the sequel. Great story, great characters. Wow.

Rating: 4.5 Stars – perfection is only half a step away
