Tiger Moon: Tracking the Great Cats in Nepal Reviews

  • Melissa

Interesting insight on early tiger research in the Royal Chitwan Natioal Park in Nepal, from the 70s and 80s. Nice addition at the end that wraps up loose ends and gives information on new developments in conservation and establishment of animal migration corridors in Nepal/India. This book gives you a healthy respect for the plight of the tiger and the human/animal conflicts in this region. I would read this again!!

  • Ryan

Paints a broad overview of the Terai landscape and ecology, including local culture. Not as personal as Rabinowitz nor as comprehensive though, since it is quite brief. I imagine the situation has evolved quite a bit since those days. Am looking forward to checking it out for myself!

I was a bit disappointed with this one. I was hoping for more emphasis of the tracking and collaring of the tigers captured than was expressed within this book.
