The Gnostic Gospels of Philip, Mary Magdalene, and Thomas Reviews
-
Very eye opening book!!
-
While some have criticized the fact that this book does not have much info on the Da Vinci Code, that was not its purpose. The book and movie drew information and quotes from the Gospels of Mary Magdalene and the Gospel of Philip. This book allows one to understand what these books are, how they came to be, and what they say. The book consists of history, translations, commentary, a position of these Gnostic Gospels within the church and the Dan Brown book and movie.
-
With Content and information it fares better than its much known cousin "The Davinci Code". But the book is much informative and a source of knowledge rather than a fiction that Dan Brown came up with...But both are good in their own respective areas entertaining and informative.
-
Anyone wishing to read what was "left out" of the Bible should really take this in. Interesting beyond Christian history.
