Why Does It Thunder and Lightning? (A Just Ask Book) Reviews

The book explains thunder and lightning through sweet forest animals. I liked it, and it was explained in such a way that an older child might better understand the concept behind lightning and thunder. However, it was still a little hard to grasp in a spot or two.

The thing I don't like about non-fiction books like this made for children is that it tells how something works without really explaining it. If I don't actually "get" something, knowing the facts about it don't mean a thing. I couldn't tell you anything about lightning before reading it. Now I can recite some facts, but I don't feel like I actually understand it, and that's the same for so many of these science books for children.
