Oh gosh! I'm once an avid fan of W.I.T.C.H! After rereading this (after stumbling it once again in my library), I fell in love with W.I.T.C.H. once again! XD Now, I really miss it! :"( I wish the publisher of W.I.T.C.H. didn't stop! And this is so much better than Winx Club!
I want to thank the artists of this comic. If it wasn't for them, I won't even discover my art skills and draw anime! Thank you!

    The Return Of A Queen
PLOT: The survivors of Meridian gather in a tunnel underneath the city and wait for further instructions from their new Queen Elyon. Elyon reconnects with her adoptive parents. The plan if there's ever going to be any chance of defeating Phoebus, they're going to have to sneak inside Elyon's castle and get the crown. The crown is the source of all the remaining magic in Meridan. So she and the rest of W.I.T.C.H head back to the castle to confront Phoebus while the rest of them hold off Phoebus's army. Phoebus in the meanwhile, turns his closest ally (Cedric) into a stronger force by giving him a new form. Phoebus challenges Elyon to a magic duel. Winner takes all! She accepts, but his magic is stronger and overpowers her. Cedric hold's WITCH off. But in the end, good of course, conquers evil and Evil now has a new form. With the end battle won, WITCH are shown Kandracar and the veil is removed. But this isn't the end. It's the beginning of brand new WITCH adventures.

MY THOUGHTS: This whole plot had a Deadly Hallows feel to it. Especially the part about Elyon dying and her mother coming to her to guide her back to life (the light) so she can defeat Phoebus in the final battle. Just as Dumbledore came to Harry in the in-between. Also with the people of Meridan banding together to fight. Same as when all the teachers and students fought the Death Eaters to defend Hogwarts. It was cool to see Elyon in her true form in all its light (figuratively and literally). The way this ended felt like the ending to this series, and I can't imagine where this will go now because this felt so final. They see the mysterious Kandracar. The veil is removed. It *could* end here and I'd be satisfied. But I know there are other issues so I'll see where the new adventures will go.

Ah, W.I.T.C.H. So much of my childhood was spend obsessing over the series. The books. The comics. The cartoon. The merchandise. You name it I was into it.

So why only the three stars if I loved it so much?

Well as time went by, I grew disinterested in the series. I went along with it mainly to see how it ended. I simply wanted to know what the final outcome was.

Surely that is not enough to merit three stars? You loved it!

I did, but that was because I was a pre-teen with very low expectations. This came before my vampire-loving period, so you can imagine what my standard was like. Don’t get me wrong, they’re not bad books – they’re simply not something I can go back to now that I’m older.

Thoroughly enjoyable at the time, but not quite so much now.

I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! (Well, I like the whole W.I.T.C.H. series, to tell the truth. But this one is my favorite!) This book is AWESOME! But in order to understand it, you have to read them in order. IT'S THE BEST BOOK EVER!!!

Nesmím zapomenout ani na Elyon, i když udělala pár nesprávných rozhodnutí, samozřejmě i další důležité postavy : Věštce, Caleba, Joela, Orube, Cedrika, Matta, Luka, Erica, babičku Hay Lin....
Rozhodně to byla má nejoblíbenější dětská série, at už komixy nebo seriál. Doporučuji všem mladším slečnám. ;)

This was a great conclusion to the first arc of WITCH, so nice to see such a happy ending for Elyon. The girls were brilliant and really were their for Elyon and her battle. This was a very enjoyable and fantastic re-read.

I used to like these series. Now, I don't think they're so good anymore. I got up to number 12 or something like that, and they've gone up to #26 or something... and they're still coming out!! I'm not really interested into them anymore, but I used to be.

  • Lauren

I loved this series! All of the different girls had their own individual personalities that made the series more enjoyable to read. Also, of course the cool magical powers was a plus. I loved the character relationships and adventures the girls got themselves into.

  • Sarah

In my opinion you can't go wrong with a witch book. I have to say that if you aren't a fan of these type of books it will not be a good idea to read. This is aimed for younger readers but I still enjoy reading them as I loved the characters.

Five teenage girls (Will, Irma, Teranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin) are “Guardians” of earth and some other planets. Their current task is to return the rightful Queen to the throne usurped by her brother. Lots of magic hurled back and forth. Lots of good vs. evil. Also lots of teen girl humor.
