Another Womans Baby Reviews

I really enjoyed this book. The suspense, cast of characters, action, and romance was excellent.

Megan was a surrogate, 8 months pregnant with her best friends baby. Her best friend, and the father of the baby was killed in a accident. Now Megan has some major decisions to make. She goes home for Christmas. She meets this sexy stranger, but does not give him the time of day. She has a uneasy feeling that the man is following her. It was the sexy stranger that saved her life, when she was attacked. She finds out that he has been following her. He is a FBI agent sent to protect her. The FBI has reasons to believe that her friends were murdered. Now the killer has Megan set as his new target.

Dirk has never gotten close to anyone on a case before. He does not know why, but he is drawn to Megan. She brings out all his protective instincts. It was sweet to watch strangers, become friends, and the friendship to grow into something more. Dirk could see how much she wanted to keep the baby. Megan thought she would be a awful mother, only because her mother was never really a mother to her. Can Dirk get the girl, and be a father by Christmas? the biggest question is, can he keep mother, and baby alive until Christmas. The suspense was good. I was going back in forth on who could be behind the attacks. I had it all wrong. Great book!

Megan Lancaster is single and heavily pregnant, and has returned to her grandmother's house on the Gulf coast to have the baby. But very few people know her secret: the baby she's carrying is not her own. After Megan agreed to become a surrogate for her childhood best friend, her friend and her friend's husband were blown up by a bomb, leaving Megan heartsick and unsure what to do with the baby.

Agent Bart Cromwell is investigating the bombing, and believes it to be the work of a man just out of prison. But when Megan's life is threatened, he has to consider other possibilities. Solving the case, however, is suddenly his second priority - behind protecting Megan, who he finds both vulnerable and extremely tempting.

This is the book that started me reading Joanna Wayne, and it's still a good read, though I don't love it the way I did at first. Like many Joanna Wayne books, I found I enjoyed the setting and the mystery more than the romance. While both hero and heroine were very likeable, their love scenes seemed to lack spark.

The mystery, however, is fairly engrossing, and I always enjoy Wayne's descriptive settings - in this case, an old beach house in an Alabama Gulf town at Christmas. Cheerful Christmassy scenes make this a nice, comfortable read - despite the killer on the loose. 3 - 3.5 stars.

This was actually a pretty good book for being a quick read. It kept me interested and I enjoyed it.

  • Maura

Surrogate mother's life was in danger and FBI Agent Bart Cromwell, masquerading as her adoring lover, protects her and her baby. They fall in love.

  • Barbara

This is a cut above the standard category romance, with appealing characters and a heroine whose sense of humor adds a lot.

And Dee said I needed more light readng, so here we are!
