NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - 2015 Christian Book Award winner - Nabeel Qureshi describes his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity in this expanded edition with new bonus content and reflections. "My friend Nabeel Qureshi was courageous enough to chase down the truth with intellectual integrity, no matter the personal cost," --Lee Strobel, bestselling author of The Case for Christ. Providing an intimate view into a loving Muslim home, Qureshi shares how he developed a passion for Islam before discovering, almost against his will, evidence that Jesus rose from the dead and claimed to be God. Unable to deny the arguments but not wanting to deny his family, Qureshi struggled with an inner turmoil that will challenge Christians, Muslims, and all those who are interested in two of the world's greatest religions and the quest for truth. Qureshi--with great courage and intimacy--wrote this book with three major purposes in To tear down walls between two of the world's major religions by giving non-Muslim readers an insider's perspective into a Muslim's heart and mind.To equip the reader with facts and knowledge, showing the strength of the case for the gospel contrasted with the case for Islam. To portray the immense inner struggle of Muslims grappling with the gospel, including all the sacrifices and doubts that rise up along the way. Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus is more than the memoir of a man's pursuit of answers to the most important issues of life and faith. Ultimately, it's the story about the transformative grace and mercy of the one true God. This edition has been expanded to A revised foreword and introductionA new afterword by apologist Mark Mittelberg and a reflection by Nabeel's wifeA substantially extended epilogue that shares how Nabeel told his friend David of his decision to follow Christ, how his parents found out, and moreExpert contributions from scholars and ministry leaders on each section of the book, contributions previously included only in the ebook editionAn appendix with a topical table of contents (for teaching from Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus)An appendix tackling the objection that Ahmadi Muslims--the Islamic movement that Qureshi was raised in--are not true MuslimsAnd a sneak peek prologue from Nabeel's book, No God but Allah or Jesus?

I really really liked this book. Thanks Nat!! Found it so interesting learning what Muslims believe is true and also saw my heart grow towards people with other religions. They are lost but so confident!! They can’t see the beauty of the gospel without a heart change - this may require very empathetic, loving, and kind followers of Jesus to open up their lives EVEN WHEN they are against the Gospel. I have seen the beautiful miracle in my changed heart, and I should trust God and pray endlessly for Him to do the same work in unbelieving friends. Super good read!!

This is such a powerful testimony with many ties to apologetics. This book emphasizes the importance of being able to defend the truth, goodness, and beauty of our faith. It was just very powerful to hear how God pursued Nabeel and how he in turn wrestled with leaving Islam and becoming a Christian for years! Once Nabeel became a Christian, he was zealous for Jesus and spreading the good news. It was gut-wrenching to hear that Nabeel passed on from this world after battling stage 4 stomach cancer. I would 1000% recommend this book to every single person on the planet.

Praise God for His goodness and mercy. That's all I have to say. 🥹🙏🏻

I finally listened to this audiobook after being reminded of this man in a YouTube video, and I am glad that I have! The audiobook was narrated by the author, something that I usually have an issue with, but this time it helped feel more immersed into the culture. Hearing all the Islamic chants in Arabic (throughout the narration of life before the conversion to Christianity -- a clear example of how demanding Islam is, and how committed Muslims are) definitely worked to feel more present in the story.

My favorite section of the book was the retelling of a vision and three dreams that were instrumental to Nabeel's conversion. I was so excited, in fact, that I replayed the chapters to my wife. I also felt encouraged through this testimony of God reaching out in clear and personal ways.

While you may not find the book as engaging as I have, I still think this is a book worth reading as it shows how wonderfully God can work in other lives, even those that are very different from ours. It also will also allow you to see that these "very different" lives are so much like your own. I was left with a wonder towards God's ways, but also wondering about how natural it is for humans to divide across cultures.

I, of course, began the book knowing about the cancer that took Nabeel's life. I also knew about Ravi Zacharias' personal failures, whose organization Nabeel has joined. The entire listening experience was bittersweet. I never felt more ache for a life so cheated, but I believe Nabeel has not been cheated in death, not since he surrendered his soul into the only hands that cannot deceive.

The ending is what made this even better for me. This man’s journey to God was interesting.

    Quotes:
If truth doesn’t exist, then it would be true that truth doesn’t exist. And once again, we arrive at truth. There is no alternative: truth must exist.

Though I had no idea who this man was, I knew he had a dramatic story, replete with personal struggles, broken relationships, and splintered self-worth. Taught by the world that he was the outcome of blind evolution, he subconsciously valued himself as exactly that—a byproduct of random chance, with no purpose, with no hope, no meaning, except what pleasures he could extract out of the day. Chasing these pleasures resulted in guilt and pain which caused him to chase more pleasures, which led to more guilt and more pain. Burying it all, just beneath the surface, he went about his day with no clue how to break the cycle, how to find true hope. What I saw was a man who needed to know that God could rescue him, that God had rescued him.

This book started out slow, but persevering through the beginning was well worth it. Nabeel spends a good amount of time setting the groundwork of his childhood, Islamic culture, family, and the importance of his Muslim upbringing. It is all necessary in order for the reader to truly understand what he was up against once he started questioning his faith. Nabeel’s friendship and interactions with David Wood really get the story rolling towards his conversion to Christianity, and by halfway through the book, I was fully invested and struggling to put it down. Hearing what Nabeel sacrificed for his conviction in our savior Jesus is inspiring and overwhelming to read about. He was an amazing warrior and example for all of us. It seems that it’s always the brightest lights that God chooses to take home early.

This book was amazing. I have to admit I probably mostly loved the confirmation bias; however, walking through someone’s conversion from such a logical and analytical view was refreshing. Much of the book is apologetics as the author works to prove his heritage and upbringing over Christianity.

For me, I often feel alone in a world that doesn’t see the depth of the faith they claim. I worry about speaking or posting to social media knowing my words will be twisted or my evangelical views will be seen as intolerant- but the author chooses Christianity in a world that is so much more extreme. His boldness is inspiring and I hope to learn to shed my fears to boldly speak what I know to be true- just as he does.

I really like how Nabeel was so forward with the truth. How he was raised, how his early experiences shaped his mind and how he focused his efforts on finding the truth.
Interwoven with the desire to find the truth and the resistance to accept it, based on early childhood teachings…Nabeel goes on an emotional and inner tumultuous journey to prove Islam is authentically and unwaveringly true. Only to discover, that what believed to be true, was in fact…the opposite of what he had been taught.
Revelation after revelation, inner batter after inner battle…he endures and attempts to hold on tightly to his beliefs.
But with the truth leading him to a single answer, time and time again, he finally gives in and accepts the truth and the harsh reality that comes with it. A light in this world, Nabeel Qureshi will be remembered by many as an amazing disciple of Jesus.

Wow. Moments I had tears rolling down my face. The love he has for his family. The hurt everyone had to go through. The passion and the love he has for God is beyond words.

The fact he passed away at such a young age breaks me thinking ask the lives he would have still touched. Yet he still is by his works.

    Beautiful writing, phenomenal story.

I read the book with this same cover, 297 pages, published by Zondervan in 2018. I could find the paperback format in the listings out here.

I found the book an insightful and meaningful interpretation of Nabeel’s conversion. Great debates on issues and insightful evidence for Christianity were shared while relating his fascinating experience.

Hallelujah for Christ! Nabeel’s story captivated me. Thankful for a glimpse into his muslim upbringing and all he shared regarding their perspective/ understanding of western Christianity. Such a thought provoking book! I couldn’t put it down.

And I can only imagine the moment Nabeel stepped into eternity with Jesus. 🙌 I look forward to that day!

This is hands down THE BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ. Every single person MUST read this book. I’ve read endless books on apologetics, world religions, epistemology, etc. this is THE BEST BOOK EVER. It was life changing for me and has immensely grown my love for the Lord and sheer awe of who He is.

  • Mathew Dodge

Very interesting read, pulls you through a personal story that keeps you invested, while also inserting a lot of scholarly arguments between Islam and Christianity. While it’s not a book to base apologetics off of, it is a great book to become more interested in apologetics.

  • Josh

I listened to the audio book read by the author. I think this is a great way to experience this tale as he tells his story of coming to Christ. Including the arguments he had with himself and others on his search for the truth and not just confirmation of his previous beliefs.

  • Chandler

This book. So many encouragements and truths through Nabeels life. One most prominent is if you want the truth

Ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you. Math 7:7

    Educational, convicting, hallelujah!

  • Ryan Haack

A powerful, personal story of a man’s conversion from Islam to Christianity. Through the lens of a personal novel, discusses key tenants of and arguments of both Islam and Christianity.

  • Kristin

So enlightening! Loved learning more of the inside of his Islamic faith and the arguments he researched trying to prove his religion’s validity. Chapter 51 had me in tears. Great book!

  • Beth Kaminske

This is a great autobiography! I learned so much about what Muslims believe and also about evidence that confirms Christianity.
