God this was my favourite volume yet, nothing to really drive the plot along and no real action BUT IT WAS SO CUTE!! Pls I loved this volume so much, so many cute moments between Shirayuki and Ren and so much cute stuff going on I loved itttttt

  • Dani ❤️ Perspective of a Writer

Shirayuki's naturally bright-red hair has gotten her into a lot of trouble forcing her to flee to the neighboring kingdom... but fortunately it allowed her to meet the prince of Clarines, Zen! Thus starts a friendship between a most unusual herbalist and a lovestruck prince.

This was a fun volume! There is a twist at the end f the pirate arc that I totally didn’t see coming. It was a tad anticlimactic due to how that turned out but I still really enjoyed it. It ties up the entire explanation as to why these half-decent guys were trying to kidnap Shirayuki.

Returning to the palace, we get a couple royal herbalist arcs. They were both fun in their own way with highlighting Shirayuki and Zen’s relationship or revealing some of the carnal center of our prince. Shirayuki is also totally blown away by Prince Izana who asks her a pointed question about Zen. But I loved how that was resolved.

Several milestones were reached in this volume too transitioning us to a new status quo to suit Shirayuki and Zen’s growing commitment. It makes me really excited for the next volume of Snow White with the Red Hair.

This series is honestly so much fun, and the more I read the more I get into it. These characters are really growing on me (even Izana! Shockingly enough. 😂) and I am fond of so many of them, especially our core friend group who are all just amazing in their own ways. Not to mention Zen and Shirayuki are just too cute as a couple—they are serious goals in just how much they trust and rely on each other while also inspiring each other to be better. It’s seriously wonderful. 🥰🥰

I loved the end of the pirate arc and all of these characters’ adventures throughout this volume, but I gotta say the Mitsuhide hypnosis arc was THE FUNNIEST thing ever, LOL! I COULD NOT stop laughing during that whole chapter and just the others’ reactions to him during that time was hilarious! 🤣🤣 I really hope this is in the anime because that would be so stinking funny to watch.

I’m really growing to love this series, and I’m looking forward to the next volume!

    ‼️Content‼️

Language: damn; ass; pissing; geez; what the

Violence: sword and hand to hand fighting (nothing over PG); injuries and blood (nothing over PG)

Sexual: woman wears a skimpy outfit; kissing; a kiss on the hand; mild suggestive hints; a guy is shirtless; a kiss on the neck

Other: a character accidentally gets “hypnotized” into acting differently (not serious, played for laughs)

I really love this series. A perfect Shoujo. Two adorable kind people falling in love and supporting each other.

The end of the pirate arc. Some really interesting reveals. I hope to see some of the new characters in later volumes.

I have previously read all of the volumes prior and was so surprised to find volume 7 on NetGalley. Thanks to them for providing a copy for my review!

This was so fun to read!! Zen, the prince, and Shirayuki had so much fun in this one! Ah man... I really love this series! It was a blast to read more! The art style is consistent with the rest and the characters are growing (something that I look for, to see if the artist understands everyone grows over time). Nothing but thumbs ups from me!!

  • Hayden

Pretty much the end of season 2 with only maybe a chapter in the next volume would equate to it.

A good volume, not as exciting as the previous but still has some very nice moments between ren and shirayuki

short series review: In this complete overhaul of the Snow White fairytale, the "princess" is a herbalist with flaming red hair. One prince is demanding that she become his mistress, the other is the one who falls for the poisoned apple. That's just the start of their story. This series is like the best of all the Disney Princess movies wrapped up into one, with none of the awkward musical numbers... and all of the strong girls who know how to take care of themselves.

    Another great volume!

I just love this series. It's so sweet. I love how easy the relationship of Zen and Shirayuki is. There's no drag in the discovery of their feelings for each other and no hesitation in admitting how they feel either. It's very refreshing for a shojo manga. You know there's going to be hardships but you also get the sense that it will only strengthen them. Zen and Shirayuki's relationship makes me think this is what's it like to be in love with your best friend!

  • Lindsay

All I can say is that this volume is so cute! We get to see so much growth in Zen and Shirayuki’s relationship and it’s adorable!

  • Shae

Still love this! Wrapped up one of my favorite arc's from the anime in this one, and moving forward things are going to be really interesting!

This feels like the end to an arc; the arc of Shirayuki and Zen courting each other, and the beginning to the arc of them braving the world of its distaste toward their relationship. If only everyone else in the world could see Zen and Shirayuki from a spectator’s view, perhaps they’d approve. I feel like their largest hurdle will be winning over Izana. It seems as though Izana does like Shirayuki but he does not like the place she holds in Zen’s life, therefore he cannot appear kind to her. I think that the moment they are able to receive Izana’s approval will likely be in tandem with the kingdom’s approval. Izana is a wonderful prince in that he only ever thinks for his kingdom. That being said though, I wonder how often he lets himself think in terms of family, or what that means for him?
Speaking of family, we meet Shirayuki’s father, who has actually been alive this entire time (though her mother remains deceased). We find out her parents were a couple of outlaw runaways living in secret within Tanbarun, their relationship being their cause of crime. I don’t think Shirayuki nor Zen related this, but some part of her parents’ love makes me think that it’s very similar to the love she and Zen share; a love that cares not for titles or rules, a love that simply wishes to love.

Lastly, Obi and Raj. Not related of course but I’d like to mention them both because they both have been getting more appearances. I see that the mangaka is placing Obi in as many places as possible likely because he’s one of the top most popular characters in the manga (as per voting polls in LaLa DX). As for Raj, his story seems over only for now, but considering there’s 20+ volumes, he better return. I really like him now, and I hope many other fans do as well.

P.S. Mitsuhide and Kiki are fantastic as always.

I absolutely adored the Snow White with the Red Hair anime and was so supper when I found the manga was only in Japanese! I can guarantee that I flipped when I found out this manga was to be published in English! I’ve read all the volumes up to volume 7... well almost. Sadly, when I had just barely started this manga ( the first few pages) it disappeared from my Aldiko app. I assumed it wasn’t downloaded correctly, but when I went back to the Netgalley website, I was sad to find the volume had been archived and I could no longer re-download and read it ;( I totally understand that books get archived, but I was totally crushed that I couldn’t read it as soon as I could have. And I’m also sad that I can’t write a proper review for the amazing publishers who gave me this E-ARC to reveiw.
I did read the first quarter and was so happy to see all my precious characters that I love so much, but didn’t really get any insight on what the volumes main plot was.
Anyway, I’m sorry for this review, it isn’t my greatest work but I didn’t just want to give up just because I couldn’t read it!
Thank you publishers for gifting me this incredible manga !

There was a lot to commend in this volume.

    Art: ★★★★★
    Story: ★★★★☆

There was a mastery to Akiduki's line work in this volume that greatly impressed me. She captures so much personality and emotion in her drawings. I was especially impressed with the the tenderness of the romantic scenes, the solidity of the kisses, and the random panels here & there where faces were deftly rendered with the vaguest of lines. She is truly skilled.

The story was excellent, even if you disregard the silly hypnotized Mitsuhide story. I mostly enjoy the main character, Shirayuki. Her pluck and resolve are entertaining. She moves her life forward by bold choices, and carries the prince along in her wake. His character needs more definition and detail. He doesn't seem to exist to do more than fill out paperwork and pine for Shirayuki. Regardless, I enjoyed how matters were resolved with Shirayuki's home country. Even Zen's brother is showing signs of being human underneath his iron facade. Over all, character definition and growth were fairly strong in this volume.

I watched the anime before reading this and I wanted to continue with the series. This volume appears to be the end of that adaptation. It covers the end of the Claw of the Sea arc, its aftermath, and the events that follow, such as Mitsuhide getting hypnotized, and the palace exhibition.

What appears to link them is the contrast in Shirayuki and Zen's relationship. While they grow closer together romantically, the social distance is still an issue. Shirayuki is a court herbalist and official "Friend to the Crown" and this brings her tantalizingly close to Zen, but he is still royalty. There is some drama about that, and it is handled sweetly.

Overall, this is a chill volume. Perhaps something of a breather after the high stakes in the previous arc.

The art is beautiful, as usual with this series.

Trickster Eric Novels gives "Snow White with the Red Hair volume 7" B+

Wrapping up the pirate storyline elevates this volume. The change in publications doesn’t hurt either - everything is reintroduced and we get lots of activity centred within the castle. I love the day-to-day between these characters far more than the grand intrigues.

Zen gets to be dashing, Shirayuki gets to be clever, they have a ton of romantic moments together. It’s what I like best about this series and it’s done to perfection here. Exactly what I needed after a spate of mediocre manga - this is the sort of book that reminds me why I love the genre so much.

The artwork is, as always, beyond reproach. The clothing design alone is astonishingly detailed. I think this is everything this series does well, done as good as it’s been in a while.

Shirayuki has been rescued from the pirates by Zen, Obi, Mitsuhide, Kiki, Prince Raj, her dad...

Surprise! Her dad is the leader of the Lions of the Mountain. But that barely gets a chapter before we're back in Clarines for Palace Exhibition Day. There's a play, Mitsuhide touches something he shouldn't, and Shirayuki officially becomes a Court Herbalist.

Honestly, the Mitsuhide thing is the funniest. Everything else is full of Zen and Shirayuki being all lovey-dovey (which, though cute, gets boring after a while).

  • Samantha Riccio

We don't deserve to have Zen

We don't deserve to have people like Zen and Obi, or even Mitsi, in our lives who would go so far out of their way for us and it feels nice to see them no matter how many times I've watched the anime (3 and counting)

I feel like this volume was mostly filler and fluff and a lot of it is in general just a cute little manga to make us all wish we could be as smart as Shirayuki is, but just leaves us wishing we had a found family group as nice as this one.

  • Kitsunebooks_

  • Megan

I am still very much enjoying this, but I do wish we had a little more direction at this point in the series, as the slow-pacing has generally stalled things and it doesn't feel like we've made much progress from where things were originally (though Raj has developed quite a bit and I do appreciate him bestowing a title on Shirayuki). It looks like Shirayuki herself is feeling it though, as she has a talk with Zen about how nothing between them has changed and they share quite a sweet moment. Once again, I want to learn more about Obi's past though!

  • Christina

Another great volume featuring one of my favorite ships, Shirayuki and Zen! Their relationship is progressing to a new level and new meaning that I can't wait to explore in the coming volumes. Volume 7 had a lot of cute moments, including a hilariously unfortunate one with Mitsuhide. I'm hoping by now we've covered everything from the anime and we can start expanding the story further into new content and more feel-good adorable moments.

This volume gave me all the feels! Even though I watched the show before reading the manga, it still was just as amazing!!!

Besides Ao Haru Ride, this is another series where I look forward to the next volume.

We meet Shirayuki's dad and while Zen is preparing for his princely duties, she realizes how the gap and differences are and wonders if they can be together.

There are some cute moments between them and I did enjoy the friendly relationship that Prince Raji now has Shirayuki. Now that she has a title of her own, she may feel more equal to walk next to Prince Zen.

I look forward to the next volume.

  • Vivien

Good book. Prince Raji appear in public asking for help. The seafarers for the 1st time seeing a different aspect of Prince Raji & liking it.
The rescue mission was a success & Shirayuki reunites with her father. Hangs out before returning to the palace to finish what she came to Tanburn to do; attend a party with Prince Raji.
Prince Raji has truly changed since Shirayuki came to his castle.

  • Ana

¿o no? 😏 Pues ya lo descubriré 😂

  • Engel Dreizehn

ARC Copy...I admit I'm late into the series and for the party so it's hard relate tot o the characters in comparison to say starting from the start however it was nice to have the author include a short story so far at the beginning.

  • Jennifer
