This was an informative and well-illustrated book on space that had a weird focus on the dangers of space. The opening line is “Space is the most extreme and hostile environment to survive in” and on almost every page there was a “DANGER!” section. I get it, Space is no picnic, but this book seemed strangely fixated on the most dangerous aspects of it.

An absolutely beautiful collection of photographs, this book is awe-inspiring. It is a book that I would love to own and prominently display. Of particular fascination are the photographs from the earliest days of space exploration; the earliest space walks, the rendezvous missions. There is no other word to describe the images other than "incredible".
