Rissa Murphy’s escape from slave traders two years ago was pure luck. She moved back to her hometown, seeking the safety of the small, tight-knit community with its overabundance of former Special Forces operators. But she’s been found again, and her enemies aren’t planning to let her slip away again.

While operating the spa inside The ShadowDance Club, a widely popular BDSM club near Climax, Colorado, Rissa has caught the eye of Doms Mitch Grayson and Bryant Davis. Mitch is a gifted empath who has tried to build her trust while waiting for Bryant to return stateside. Mitch knows Rissa is the woman they’ve been searching for, and as soon as Bryant meets her, he agrees.

But can they keep her safe and convince her that she is one they want to share their lives with? That she is everything they’ve dreamed of? Is Rissa brave enough to let Mitch and Bryant heal her heart?

Rissas Recovery (The ShadowDance Club, #3) Reviews

  • Deanie Nelder

After her escape from human traffickers two years ago, Rissa Murphy moved back to her small hometown and opened up her spa in the building that houses the ShadowDance BDSM club. She also starts opening herself back up to the world of BDSM, catching the eye of empathic Dom Mitch Grayson and caring Dom Bryant Davis, who take care of her after being shot in an attack at the Club. However, she can't fathom why they'd be interested in her long-term, and before they can convince her they want forever, Mitch and Bryant will have to save her from the traffickers out to get her back.

Rissa's Recovery picks up right where Jenna's Submission leaves off, with an injured Rissa in the hospital. Anyone who hadn't read the previous book would be confused as to who these people are and what exactly happened, but it's not advertised as a standalone, so that's okay. The characters are intriguing, and their dialogue is clever, but overall the writing doesn't flow smoothly, and has some problems with pacing (too slow some places, too rushed in others). It's still a good book, however.

Somehow I have convinced myself I like this series even though I have to push through each book. The writing is good but at times the story drags and it is a little too BDSM 101 in the lifestyle explanations.

Rissa had an interesting story but it never really went into what happened to her. How was she abducted, how long was she held, what happened to her there? She has PTSD and that is not really addresses in a satisfactory manner either. That part of the story felt sloppy.

The menage was nice but the steam was rather lacking. Only a few sexy scenes, for the length there should have been more.I felt the connection of the characters but it just wasn't enough somehow. Plus I was still peeved at Mitch for participating in the menage in the previous book when he was supposedly already in love with Rissa. Bad call on the authors part.

I liked the mixing in of other characters stories and that is the reason I am coming back for more. Very smart move by the author, hook me on a couple so I need to hear their story!I enjoyed hearing about past characters as well.

THey are alright but far from amazing.

Cover Art - Blah and not very sexy at all.

Loved Mitch, Bryant and their Tinker bell

Mitch Grayson and Bryant Davis have been best friends for years. They share everything. Their dream is to find a women they can share an build a family with. Mitch is sure her found her in Rissa, the quiet sub who runs the Shadow Dance Club Spa. Bry agrees.
Ross Murphy hasn't had an easy life. The few year she lived with her grandmother were the happiest. When she lost her she lost herself. She nearly lost her freedom. She owes her life to Dylan and Mia. Has been working hard to build a life.
Mitch and Bryant lay claim to Rissa. Introducing her to their life style Will be a challenge. A series of and decision almost gets her killed. Her past has come back to haunt her. Mitch and Bryant will do anything to keep their women safe.
Fast paced and steamy MFM BDSM romance with a.
Ight paranormal element. A great epilogue to wrap up their story.

When Tori arrives in town, she finds out the little home she was left by her uncle has burned to the ground. With no where to go, she sits down wondering what to do. This is where Trace comes in and finds her. I loved this story and Trace is one of my favorite Doms in this series. He's gentle and he instantly falls for her. Finding out she has a stalker, he calls on his good friends who are also Doms along with being in Special Forces. Together they all make a plan to keep Tori safe, but will it work? Her stalker is determined to get to her. This is one of my favorite series by Avery Gale and will be eagerly waiting the re-release of the next book.

    Worthy of Being Loved

I chuckle as I read each Avery Gale book because she gives her female characters some downright funny and creative expressions they use in lieu of foul language. The stories have a great mix suspense, intrigue and romance and are evenly paced.

Mitch, Rissa and Bryant, while destined to be together, do not have any easy road ahead of them. A life altering event from Rissa's past and PTSD shade most everything in her life. Even though Mitch is an empath and is attuned to many of Risa's emotions, both men struggle to build her up as they tear down the barriers she's built inside herself. Convincing her that she is worthy of being loved is not an easy task.

4.25 - felt a little rushed, and Mitch wasn't as ....... 'strong' as he has appeared in the past, but still a good read.
