Actress Catie Roberts had a glamorous life that many people might envy—if they didn’t look too closely. But when Catie's mom dies and her deadbeat dad runs away with her trust fund, Catie ends up broke and the sole support of her only remaining family: her sick grandmother, who requires constant care. Catie has just one thing to fall back on. She knows about the secretive Club Volare, a New York-based BDSM club whose powerful, rich, and famous members wish to remain discreet--and she knows someone at the gossip rags willing to buy those secrets.
With the backing of a gossip mag, Catie lies her way into Club Volare to research a red-hot expose. When she’s nearly caught by Jacob Jayson, heir to an old industrial fortune and all around dark, brooding, and damaged Dom, Catie gets desperate: she’ll have to submit to Jake for training as a new sub, and hope her secret never gets out. She doesn’t expect Jake to be able to see through her, and she certainly doesn’t expect to fall in love. But as their training sessions heat up and Jake turns out to be the Dom she’s always dreamed of, Catie finds out she’s in serious danger of both exposure and heartbreak.
Jacob Jayson had a life that looked good from the outside, too—immense wealth concealing a vile, abusive childhood. He’s since accepted the fact that he’s irreparably damaged, a man with an inhuman heart who is incapable of love. That is, until Catie Roberts shows up. Catie sees into him like no one else can, sees so far that Jake finds himself feeling things he’s never dreamed of. Yet Jake can tell that Catie is hiding something, and unless he can find out what, he fears he may lose her. But Jake has secrets of his own, secrets that, if exposed, might cost him everything—including Catie.
Both of them have every reason not to trust in love. Can they learn to trust each other?
DISCIPLINED BY THE DOM is an intense BDSM erotic romance about learning how to love. It contains mature themes and content, and at least one thing you really shouldn't try at home without some training, first...
Disciplined by the Dom (Club Volare, #3) Reviews

After careful deliberation a 4-star rating.
I like the writing style of Chloe Cox. The story was nice enough. The BDSM scenes were quite nice too. (Nice?! Yeah nice 😉)
But, I couldn’t really relate to both Catie or Jake, the main characters. I couldn’t understand most of the decisions they made in their life and in their relationship. There wasn’t growth to the characters until almost the very end.
I do love club Volare and Lola and Roman, so I will very much love to read
Marrying the Master 😁 -
Book three of the Club Volare by Chloe Cox.
Catie is in a extremely bad situation when her father runs off with her trust fund and leaves the country and a frail old grandmother in a nursing home that needs paying for within a couple of months or her grandmother is kicked out.
Catie works for s trashy rag mag that knows about the secret club and wants all the dirty details but after becoming a member and meeting people who work and go to the club Catie struggles to remind detached. especially when Jake becomes her Dom and she starts to train with him.
i really enjoyed this book because there actually less BDSM and more to do with the relationship between Dom/Sub outside the club.
This book is still hot and have sexy scenes but i really liked that Jake is very detached from everyone and doesn't seem to have very close friends even Roman how is described as a friend but feels like is kept at arms length.
Catie gets him to realise he is a good person and can trust other people who want to be closer to him
loved their story and HEA. really looking forward to Roman and Lola story. -
I liked this one but not as much as other books in the series. There really weren't many scenes of a bdsm nature.

2.5 Stars
Wow, was there supposed to be a Dom in this book? Seemed like all Jake did was have internal dialogue. There were 2 scenes in this book and one of them she topped from the bottom. I mean, COME ON!
I did like Jake, I thought he was cool, calm, and controlled. However, he had no idea what to do with his emotions. They were all over the place.
I did NOT like Catie at all. First her walls were way too high, but I think Jake should have tried harder to break them down. Second, she avoided him too much.
I want her confession. I wanted Catie to break down and spill the beans about everything, including needing money for her Nana. I wanted to see Catie break, more than she did.
Where are they now? The Epilogue told me nothing except for a set up for the next book. -
I was a LITTLE confused in the beginning of this book (1st chapter only), but then it took off. As always... I LOVE a 'true love story' without the cheating hero. I fell in love with Jake and thought that he and Catie were just perfect for each other. This was not my favorite Club Volare book, however it was pretty good! My favorite was 'Sold to the Sheikh'.
My favorite line in the whole book.... “Everybody makes mistakes. I still love you.”. Gosh... I loved Jake!
I'm looking forward to hearing about Roman and Lola soon... that should be interesting knowing that they are both dominants... I'm sure that Lola will find that she is truly submissive... I could see Roman breaking her down!
Bottom line... Pretty good book... worth the read! -
This is the story of Catie & Jake. Catie is a novice & joins Club Volare under the auspices of learning submission yet never seems to join in or take part in any way which garners some attention. Catie has an ulterior motive born of desperation. There's a substantial amount of angst & I will say once the "big reveal" occurs I was left with a feeling of hmmmmm is that really plausible? I can see where Ms. Cox was headed, I just didn't completely buy it, I guess.
In general, it was a good read. I didn't really like Catie-thought she could've made some better decisions-but that would've left very little plot. Jake was marginally better but didn't set me on fire. The kink was fairly decent, probably if I'd have been more attracted to the characters it would've been better. -
Meh, this is another Chloe Cox story that turned out just average for me. She is a good and solid writer, but somehow the sex scenes aren't her forte. This story is lacking intimacy, I need more than a brutal cut and jump to the next scene after some hot love making. Also, for all this talk about training the sub, there is actually very little going on and the few sex scenes in existance are pretty vanilla. I don't expect kink non stop, but I do love to read about the characters emotions while submitting or topping. Again another D/s novel that didn't get me all that much involved in the characters, therefore I go with a C.

I didn't particle care for this book. It wasn't bad, but other books in the series were better.
I liked Jake in spite of the fact that he had some issues. I dislike Catie. There was something that seemed to be unlikable about her. She didn't strike n as being submissive. Jake thought she was, but I wondered throughout most of the book of she was just acting.
Not a bad read. I just found it to be kind of boring. I would go with 2.5 stars if I could. -
I'm actually rounding up to three for this one, from 2.5. I found the title to be quite misleading! Where was this so-called Dom? While I liked the character of Jake, I just can't put him into that category. So, while it was another nice, easy read, it fell short of its title.

Cute story. The H is a major thinker . . . this book is a LOT of thinking. I even skimmed some b/c it was so repetitive. I do like the Volare series & can't wait for the next!
-
I read all four Club Volare books in two and a half days--maybe by this book I was getting tired of all the angst---this one seemed over the top but with a little more character development.
-
Out of all so far I liked this one the least...
-
Once again I was disappointed with not being able to feel the chemistry between the two main characters. The sex is hot, but without feeling the chemistry it's meaningless.
-
I liked this story, found it a bit wordy at times though which took away the momentum.
-
Fun read. Only complaint is the cover--doesn't fit my image of the characters.
-
To slow
I have loved all previous books but I found this one to slow and I got irritated and found myself skipping through the book -
Really...
Good story about Jake and Catie, that continues at Club Volare and brings us glimpses of Roman and Lola to lead into book 4. So excited to read it. Enjoying this series a lot. -
Loved this story , twists & turns happiness & sadness
-
Love it
Who doesn’t love a Dom? I am loving this series. Makes you react the way that the sub felt every time he does something to her. And it is a HEA after at. -
Another great read by Ms. Cox. I love the Club Volare books. This book centers on Catie & Jake. Catie's father just ran off with her trust. Her only family member around was Nana who was in a home. After her father leaves Catie faces a hard reality, how to support Nana while doing small acting jobs and crashing on a friends couch. She figures out she can support Nana by getting inside information on those at Club Volare and selling it to a gossip magazine. Next week meet Jake the Dom that Catie has had her eye on from afar. There is also tragedy with Jake which has made him unable to connect emotionally with anyone. With all that he still feels a connection to Catie which of course he avoids. Now throw in Roman the owner and DOM of Volare to do a little matchmaking. Although there wasn't a lot of back story of Catie and in my opinion you were thrown right into the story I really could empathize with her. I felt her struggles, I understood she became torn with a potential budding relationship and taking care of her family. I enjoyed watching both Catie & Jake over come their pasts and look towards their futures. Now..... I can't wait for Roman & Lola's story.

This is probably my favorite so far, the author wrote Jake's torment so well, and Catie's guilt too. There was a real story line, not just filler between hot sex scenes, and I think that's why I enjoy Chloe's stories so much. I felt Jake's sorrow, guilt, leap off the page and then how be begins to have feelings for Catie, it was like a flower blooming. It was cute how he was so dazed, he wasn't sure what to do after he had such negative reactions to feel-good emotions before. And Catie kept procrastinating in the expose because she didn't want to lose her new family and Jake, since everyone else in her life had left her alone.
-
Jake and Catie's story didn't really pull me in like some of the previous stories have. I was expecting Jake to be more alpha and Dom like. Some of the scenes would start good and then it seemed like Catie just took over (not very submissive at all). I wanted to feel it with these two but it just kind if fell flat for me. I have read all the books in this series so far and I enjoyed them all. I am looking forward to Lola and Roman's story next. I will defineately read more from this author this was just a miss for me.

What happens when the man you fall in love with is the man you have to betray? What happens when the only woman you’ve ever loved has to choose between you and her family? What happens? Well I will tell you, you read an intense book that will leave you breathless, speachless and shocked. Another great read by Ms. Cox. I love the Club Volare books. I thoroughly enjoyed Catie's feistiness and how she called Jake on his bullshit.
-
Received this in a Goodreads contest giveaway and loved it. Very hot! I fell in love with Jake and Catie. I had to had to add rest of the series to my to be read list. Looking forward to going back to Club Volare!
-
This is more like 3.5 stars and that is only because the Ah Ha moment of the story completely connecting came a few pages from the end. I did enjoy the message behind the story. Really looking forward to the next book though.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed Catie's feistiness and how she called Jake on his bullshit. Did not like her angst as much. It seemed somewhat extreme or out of proportion but then again, with her situation, I can understand her being a bit irrational. Still, it was another good read by Chloe Cox.

another brilliant romance in the club Volare series. This one is more loosely written round the club. The main interactions are between Jake and Catie. They are great characters with a lot of issues round family which come to the fore the more time they spend together.
Great read!
