  I love it. I go back and read 'Diyar-e-dil', and 'Mere humdum mere dost' again and again. I re-read other books too, but here I mention only Farhat's books.
  
  I loved Wali. I love all books where hero's name is Wali or Omar or Sikandar. There is something about these names. Err, I digress.
  
  I like Zarmeena. I like her husband. Her kids are awesome. Her mom-in-law is great. Agha ji is a nice person.
  
  Is there anything I don't like?
  
  I don't like the heroine. If it was a deliberate effort to make her unlikable, the writer did a phenomenal job.
  The other problem? Sure, this is fiction and crazy things can happen, but still some amount of reality should be there. she was a doctor, and just left everything without a worry in the world and became a good home-maker overnight. No wonder real people expect too much from us women ;-)
  
  It is over-dramatic and over-sweet in places. Yet, I like it.
  
  The TV adaptation ruined it though. Even if I hated Faarah, Maya Ali made it worse. I like OKB, looks-wise, but he was nowhere how I magined Wali to be.

  A book written by Farhat Ishtiaq very beautifully. She played with emotions of reader with words. She beautifully unfold the story page by page. During reading this novel reader stayed captivate.
  I spent my whole night to read due to the captivitation in the i was awaken and now dying with sleep.
  Love begets love and it happens in real life too far or earlier every person learn how to love and how to get love of those who don't love you back.
  Farhat Ishtiaq beautifully tells a family story which give us lesson to be tied and firm n0-one can break you and in all relations trust is the main component.
  We have to learn from this story about thr persons in our surroundings who loves us and left many things for us but we always ignore what they had left for us. Their hidden emotions and thoughts never revealed the truth but this exist and we need that particular eye to see the pain for loved ones who has been left due to getting another person.
  One thing she clearly said is that don't ever use hatred for anyone to exploit their life and to enjoy by harassing the person because when you are amusing by doing so at that time wrong steps has been taken which can deteriorate life of various people. Care for those who care for you.
  I really like the philosophy of Agha Jan to follow your heart when taking any decision, I think sometimes there are various events in life where you must rely more on the mind than on the heart.
  The main idea of the novel is to love, and to get love, once purified from the grime of pride, greed, anger and other similar bullshit, conquers all world and everything is just beau!
  I never like to watch a darama on novels and same the case with this novel people appraise the story but i haven't watched because they took only main idea and change many things particularly those things are main reason if fascination for reader. But i can use that cast to develop my idea how the characters may look in appearance..
  5/5 for the book but take it as a novel because this kind of miracle happens in life rarely.

  Farhat Ishtiaq may not be a perfect writer but her writings are mesmerizing. A very good read. Fara and Wali were near-perfect characters.

  Finally completed this novel, umm it was a nice work I can say, of Farhat Ishtiaq. Novel is more beautiful than drama. The story was quite beautiful, that Dada poti bond was wonderful. Overall its a good novel to read.

  Loved it! I watched the drama back in 2014, and it's still one of my faves. I recently found out that it's based on a novel. The drama is actually quite different from the novel. It ruins the characters of Wali and his mother.

  I had never really planned to read the novel after having watched the drama serial, but when time made itself available and some lost interest became known, I decided to read the novel and see how the story unfolds in this format. The story is essentially the same, with the same theme and emotions running through both the formats but in the novel there is no character by the name of Arjumand.
  Instead, Suhaib's wife is named Amna and she does not make a single appearance in the book. Also, Zarmeeney is actually just Zarmeena and is married to Ibaad and has twins, Ushna and Huzaifa. In the drama serial, Wali's sister is unmarried and hence there is no mention of her family.
  
  I did not particularly like Farhat Istiaq's writing style but her story is a captivating one, the plot engaging, even if it gets a little repetitive at times. The contentions and misunderstanding between Faarah and her grandfather, and Roohi and her Father-in-law are portrayed in a real manner, and the story flows in a smooth way. The only thing I felt lacking was the depiction of kinship between Behroz and Suhaib. Suhaib's character is always mentioned in the past tense, meaning he is already dead when the story starts. On the other hand, the drama serial took a good few episodes to establish the fact that the two brothers are indeed very close together and feel the hurt of being wrenched apart in such a cruel egocentric decision on Agha Jan's part. You can appreciate that better on screen, not in the book.
  Another character whose presence I sorely felt was lacking was that of Arjumand or Amna, when we talk about the book. May be my opinions are shaped so because of having watched the drama first and having developed partiality and dislike for certain characters beforehand. (This is why I always prefer reading the books first, before watching any adaptation of it, not to mention how viewing something like this before shapes how your mind sees those characters, but this is a topic for another day).
  While I really admire Agha Jan's philosophy of following one's heart when making a decision, I think sometimes there are instances in life where one must rely more on the mind than on the heart. The basic idea of this novel is that love, true love, once purified from the grime of pride, greed, anger and other similar bullshit, conquers all and everything is just dandy!
  
  I had fun reading it, but I wouldn't call it some out of the way impressive or awe inspiring work.
