Capturing Callie (Club Isola #1) Reviews

I'm feeling a little so-so on this one but intrigued enough to want to know about Jace's lady love so I will continue the series at some point. I liked Callie overall but her cute fumbling grated on my nerves after a bit. And lord, could she be any more bedraggled? Everything in her life broke her down. It was kind of depressing. I was a bit disappointed that the author did not resolve the sister issue at the end of the story. That story line was left as a talking thread when it was such a prominent element in the story.

Loved Ian and Callie
Ian McGregor, is a wealthy business man and inventory. Good friends with Alex and Zach Lamont, and was mentored by their parents. He now has his own BDSM club. Club Isola, located on a private island of the Virginia coast. The playground for the DC elite.
Callie Reece, is a reporter for a tabloid newspaper. She has been ordered to get the inside scoop on Club Isola. Things don't go quite as planned and she is immediately found by the owner himself, Ian McGregor.
Ian and his best friend and chief of security, Jace Garrett are amused and intrigued by the tiny women who has snuck into the island.
Ian with the help of Jace decided to teach Callie all about the BDSM lifestyle. Callie is a shy but willing student.
Callie hasn't had it easy on life. While she puts a positive attitude out there, she struggles with being good enough. Past traumas and verbal abuse have her second guessing her worth. Mitch Grayson offers insight and sage advice. The Shadowdance team and Jace work to end the threat from Callie's past.
Slowly Callie starts to heal. Ian and Jace keep careful watch over her. Ian is falling for his sweet sub.
A steamy BDSM romance. MF, MFM, light paranormal element. A nice epilogue to their story. -
Callie is one of the sweetest and loyal characters to read. She gave everything she had to help her little sister. But she lost herself in the process. I think that Ian is exactly what she needed to find herself again. She’s someone that needs to be loved and appreciated. Ian needs Callie because she gives he’s heart all the love and healing he needs to finally be happy.
This story shows us that money is not everything. -
This is a first in the Club Isola series and a reread. Callie is making her way to the secret BDSM island to get a story for her paper. She is caught even though she came in under the cover of darkness. Ian owns the island and they capture her. She becomes his submissive and eventually a wife. Read for all of the interesting tidbits in between.

Capturing Callie is part of Gayle Avery’s Club Isola series and is a fun, steamy read.
Callie Reece is struggling in a low paying reporter’s job when she is assigned to dig up information about Ian McGregor’s BDSM Club, Isola, located on an island off the coast of Virginia. When she arrives, she is captured by Ian and his director of security, Jace, and they demand that she spend a month learning about the life style or go to jail.
But Callie has some powerful enemies after her and it will be a job for Ian and Jace to keep her safe. They also discover her family leaves a lot to be desired, with her sister draining her resources to pay for her college bills, when she is actually earning a good living as a stripper.
My biggest problem with the book was that for a smart woman, Callie seems to be a perpetual victim. She makes no effort to get of the horrible situations she find herself in, relying instead on others to “rescue ” her.
Otherwise, it was a good read and it was fun to see big strong Dom Ian McGregor fall for a little bit of a sub who really needed him for things other than his control.
I am looking forward to additional books in this series. -
This book is steamy, sensual and erotic but it also addresses the importance of healing the heart and repairing the damage caused by others to one's soul. Ian McGregor is the quintessential Alpha Dom, strong, resolute, successful and gorgeous. Callie is a natural submissive, sassy, bratty and good to her core. She's caught up in something from her past that almost left her irrevocably broken and is so far beyond the scope of what she can fix or control. Callie speaks to Ian's heart and soul as he swore no woman ever would. Now he must protect her and let down his barriers. Maybe the can heal each other and find the kind of love they both want and richly deserve.

After reading Capturing Callie, I have become such a huge fan of Avery Gale. I was so surprised that I was sucked into the story from the very beginning. It started off so good and I was immediately drawn to Ian, Jace, and Callie. I loved Ian and Callie together with the addition of Jace. I cannot wait to read more about Jace. This is another keeper for me and I am definitely looking for more from Avery. 4 out of 5 rating.

-
I loved this book. Some of Callie's 'stream of consciousness utterances' were absolutely priceless. Yeah... this is a definite re-read.
-
One of the best books I've read this year! I'm in Aww of this book and so excited to read more in the coming future.
-
Hot sex with Callie, Ian and Jace. Ian was so annoying with the way he spoke to Calle as if she were a child. Not my favourite BDSM read.
-
4.5 - liked all the characters, the talking aloud was hilarious, but heroine almost seemed ..... juvenile at times. will try others from this author.
