Their mother is gone, their father has abandoned them, and Jessie and her younger brother, Alex, are living as outcasts from society in an isolated corner of rural Mexico.
With their only friend, an alcoholic bartended from The Last Stand tavern, and a mysterious stranger called Ron, they must locate Yaqui Indian Don Candillo to survive an impending invasion that threatens to bring their entire world to a brutal end.
These are their Changing Ways.
Changing Ways: Book 2 Reviews

From the Aurealis Awards Judges' Report 2012:
"The central story of this work is used to explore themes of localism and the nature of racism, immigration and how people adapt (or don’t adapt) to change. The use of the grey palette with the bright blue of the title characters is clever, and integral to the storytelling. Page layout is well-used and varies effectively to make its points. The characters are an interesting mix of old-school, underground surf culture with a modern vibe and overall this disquieting work makes excellent use of the visual storytelling medium." -
Eagerly devoured this book just today! There's a lot going on and leaves you hanging with new as well as unresolved plot lines. The art is just lovely. Read it just for the wonderful art, though I promise the story does not disappoint.
