Sweet Escape (Sweet, #2) Reviews
-
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Sweet Series by Bailey Ardisone that I have had the pleasure of both reading and reviewing. This was a pretty quick read despite having a few slow areas. Sweet Escape was filled to the brim with with action and fighting, there was so much that there is no way that Bailey Ardisone could have added anymore. The book also contained a hint of romance but it was countered with all of the adventure. I loved getting to know more about both sides and all about the different creatures that exist in the fae world.
I still had the same issues with the characters in this instalment as the first. Both of the main girls and main guys names were so similar that I was forever mixing them up. I also found it confusing when the characters nicknames were used because I kept thinking they were a new character. In saying that, I did enjoy the multiple POV's and I think that besides a few times that it became confusing, it flowed between the POV's rather smoothly. I did enjoy the romance between the different characters and I can't wait to see where their relationships lead.
I really do love the author's idea of switching the POV's, not only between characters but between worlds as well. Also it is a new take on Elves and their kingdoms. I will continue on with this series because it is original and interesting. Plus I need to know where these blossoming relationships will end up. I would recommend this book to those who love fantasy and those who love stories about the Elves. -

I would have to call this a 'tweens rather than YA, it's just that lame. This is why:
1. She's sooo naive.
2. Everyone is sooo nice.
3. Everyone loves everyone (well, obviously not the evil characters).
4. So, evil is generic.
5. Yes, I still love you.
6. Predictable.
7. No abominable slang - ever.
8. Yes, oooh, and yes I am angry (I mean really? He tried to kill you).
Lamest contemporary quote ever 'watch it, buster'.
Good points, the writing is pretty good. Downside, way to wordy. -
OH FREAKIN WOW!!!!
LOOOOOOOOVE!!!!!!!!!!!
FULL REVIEW:
OH....MY.....FREAKING.....GOODNESS!!!! This book is AH-MAZ-ING!!!
I loved Sweet Oblivion, book one in this series, but Sweet Escape??? BLEW ME AWAY!!
You know going in to book two is always a little iffy. Sometimes they do just as good as book one and then there are those that just can't live up to what book one did.
ANNNNND then you have Sweet Escape....ROCKS YOUR FREAKIN WORLD FANTASTIC!!
Are you getting how I feel about this book yet?? LOL...OK...let me continue...
I was so excited to get back to the mystical, enchanting world that Bailey created in which we travel through the life of two young women, Nari and Namine.
Told in dualing POVs, we get to see what is happening to each of these interesting girls and then, finally, we see how their worlds intersect.
At the end of Sweet Oblivion, we were left hanging, finding out exactly who Mycah and Rydan really were. This left me wanting Sweet Escape direly and when I stepped back in to the pages to find out what was going on with my beloved characters, I couldn't put it down until I devoured the whole thing.
So many questions were answered yet at the same time so many new ones have formed. Knowing this is only book 2 out 4 in this series, there are still so many events that will have to pass for us to get to the happily ever after...AND Bailey...yes....there better be an HEA!!! ;)
I am so enthralled with the creative, innovative, alluring world that Bailey has built. She composes such a beautiful scenery with her seductive words. Drawing you in to that world, surrounding you with images as you read her written words. This is the sign of a talented writer. Being able to make you FEEL as you are a part of the story, wrap you up in it; snug and tight...knowing that it will break you in two to leave it once it is over.
Yes, this is what it is like reading Sweet Escape. You fall in love with these characters. You want so much for them and get sooo mad when they disappoint you. When you have connections that strong for them, then you know that the author has captured you for an eternity.
Getting to know more about Nari, Namine, Rydan, and of course Mycah drives you through each chapter, soaking up the every adventure that each of these journey on. I was holding my breath through countless moments, screaming at a certain hottie that pissed me off, and sighing for relief when things started to unravel.
I loved this book and Bailey Ardisone is one of those authors that no matter what she puts in front of me, I know it will be a book that will knock my socks off.
If this is a series you haven't started yet...then let me tell you know...GO...RUN...GET IT NOW!!!!

Okay after my shower i feel better about reviewing this, i thought things through and I am going to give this an official Rebecca 3.5 stars.
Song Choice: "Sweet Escape" by Gwen Stefani because i really just couldn't resist :), "I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And all I got was this stupid song written by me" (yes that is the whole title) by Fall Out Boy, "Marvelous Things" by Eisley, and "Welcome Home" by Radical Face
First Thoughts: Um unfortunately a lot of my problems from the first book just transferred over here. But there were a lot of points that i really did appreciate about this book and I didn't think it was a badly written book, in fact that was one of main things I loved. I have a problem with some of the characters and i know right now i am just punching the author right in the gut, as i know characters are like babies for authors and i am sorry but I will explain later why I just...when it comes to the characters in this book i literally cannot, i just can't...
Thoughts on Plot: See right here is one of the big, big, big reasons i went on with the series after reading the first one, i wanted to know what would happen and i was slightly convinced that Nari (which i still don't know how to spell her whole name dammit i will look it up for characters) anyways i was convinced she would get better but again that is for character spot. I was literally hooked on this book for the first half, I didn't want to put it down and i was on a pretty good streak then certain people got on my nerves....*breathing in, breathing out* okay i loved this plot, it makes me want to go on and on and on and on, its very addicting and there is always something going on, it does not keep you bored or waiting for long. There are twists and turns that i will admit even i didn't see coming. I love how convincing the writing is, like for example is something is trying to mislead you and you are all like, hey you are misleading me but you catch in this book it wouldn't like that like, it convinces you until its all revealed. Sneaky sneaky. So i loved the deceiving plot. Oh I loved how it doesn't become about just one of the "realms"? worlds? it does deal with both earth and the elf world....which i am slightly confused on the whole land's name but i get confused easily sooo don't mind me. seriously i would put on my left shoe for my right foot if i wasn't paying close enough attention.
Thoughts on Characters:
ughhhhh okay so let me say this first I thought i was going to okay...no. I am going to try my damnedest not to be a bitch right meow. kay? kay!
Nariella (Nari): Okay in the last book I remember she really annoyed me because the entire book she complained about hating men and never trusting the likes of them and blah blah blah, in this book at first she didn't really bother me, and I wasn't really all that upset with her for the first couple of chapters, almost made it to the half way point but something about her gets on my nerves really fast, and not to mention i just she does things i don't like. She asks really strange things, and when she has ....okay this a bit of a spoiler so i am hiding it don't worry but be warned and along with that point she says how she is going to do something, that she is finally going to "snap" or whatever but she says it at least 100 times before she actually does, when it comes straight down to it, she needs to be showing more than telling. OH! OH AND THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE BUT FRICK another spoiler hang on soooo yup...
Rydan: Well he is very selfish, but it didn't really bother me all that much, he didn't I guess he didn't come as a complete character for me in the end, i get protectiveness from him, and I LOVED how his relationship with Nari was dealt with, very nice by the way. But I don't know he did a lot of things for himself and i am still waiting for him to accept who he is...what he is. I am not mad about this at all because dude take your time its a bit of a shock after all ;)
Namine (okay i can't do the accent-y "e" sorry): Anyways I actually really liked her. I liked her a lot, i really enjoyed this character she was actually one of the characters i loved to be honest. She was pretty awesome when things were seem like all was lost she found a reason to fought and she did fight, she never gave up she never threw in the towel she was totally kickass and i loved her. She was an amazing character and i am really happy she got a bigger part in this book and she is becoming more of a MC than the last book.
Mycah (Remycah): Hmmmm i liked him in the last book and i liked him in this book... i can't say much about him ... spoilers. well there is one thing i have to say but this a bit of a spoiler as well so i am going to hide it but if you feel the need to you now you know ;)
So the ending, well that was not nice. I do want to go on in this series because i want to know what happens, i really do.

Nariella's life changed the day that Mycah walked into her life. But nothing could prepare her for the change that she would endure when his secrets and past are revealed. Under the willow tree where Nariella once sought calm and serenity her life is thrown into shambles and those she loves are stolen away. Now her place of calm serves as a reminder of all that she has lost. Then her world is turned completely on its head, when she finds herself in a place she thought she would never see. Now she no longer knows who to trust, who she is, or where to go from there. Nothing is as it seems and Nariella will have to rely on her heart to save her. While Namine desperately tries to bring home the savior she is thrown into the pit with the one person she is trying to deceive. The one person she is not sure she can fool. Can she fool the King and bring home the savior? Everyone is tested. Everything changes and no one will be the same.
Sweet Escape picks up almost where Seet Oblivion left off. Not much has changed for Nariella since the fateful day when Rydan was lost to her. But when Mycah decides to try and find Rydan her heart and patience are truly tested. It is clear that she is in pain as she wallows in despair and crumbles in on herself, closing herself off to her friends and her life. Now I admit, though I am glad I got a look at her pain and a good idea of what it was like during Rydan and Mycah's absence, I do think too much time was focused on it. I kept thinking, okay, she is in pain and doesn't know if she can go on without him, I get it, now let's move on.
And that ends anything negative I have to say about this book. Once Bailey Ardisone takes us out of Nariella's internal despair we are delivered to a world where anything is possible, dreams can come true, lives are lost, and lives are gained. A place where the truth is blurred, the past is revealed and magic is real. It is in this place that the best of the story takes place.
Suddenly we find ourselves in the middle of a war. Kingdom against kingdom, elf against elf. But there is also a secret war being raged within the false King's walls. The savior has returned and battles his way to take his rightful place upon the thrown. But there are those that fight to stop him. And in what seems like a wicked twist of fate the savior becomes a pawn to the false king, a tool to win the war and rightfully take the thrown. Now the savior, a once noble elf, with the heart of an angel shows a heart of black despair.
In Sweet Escape these moments of despair, these moments when the saviors heart is blacker than black are the darkest and hardest to read. It will make you rage, make you cry, cause you to curse out a certain little elf, and possibly consider throwing your kindle across the room. I know I had to actually step away from the book because I was so pissed off. And while you rage and yell at the sky, author Bailey Ardisone is making magic happen behind the scenes. She is winding secrets and hiding truths so that they can later be revealed.
Bailey Ardisone is definitely a magician at weaving a tale. When she lays a bomb on you, you never see it coming. You never see the signs. Because she makes you believe the lies she has told. I know while I was reading I kept thinking, no. There is no way that this is happening. Any moment this is going to change, any moment someone is going to tell me April Fool's, because that's what we have come to expect. But it doesn't happen and so you believe it with your whole heart. And suddenly you don't know who is more crushed, the character in the book or you.
Sweet Escape gives us truly amazing characters that grow leaps and bounds in this book. With many of those growths shocking the hell out of you. But I think the biggest changes were with Nariella and Rydan. They both grew so much in this book and they both take control of their life, becoming fierce warriors. Each character in this book gives you something to route for and something to believe in. And Sweet Escape definitely gives us a story that you can sink your teeth into. It was an absolute delight. And if I thought for one second that I would get all my answers and my hearts desire, than I was wrong. Because the ending that Bailey Ardisone gave us only left me with the shattered pieces of my heart that I taped together with hope. -
I loved this book so very much and absolutely hated that it ended! Bailey starts where Sweet Oblivion left us, then takes us on an emotional roller coaster that had my stomach in knots until the very end.
She weaves her magic throughout the story. Bailey just doesn't write, she brings the story alive with her descriptions. I love having a movie play out when I read, it is what makes me read everything an author writes, and Bailey is definitely one of those authors.
What I liked about the book: Mycah! I loved him in Sweet Oblivion and I still love him in Sweet Escape! Several of my fellow readers became discouraged with him, albeit briefly, but I never did. I love that we get to spend more time with Rydan and Naminé! I believe their characters really come forth in this book, and you get to fall in love with them.
What I didn't like: Nari drove me BSC! Now, anyone who reads my reviews know that I love it when an author makes me angry, or makes me feel any strong emotion. That means that they have written the book so well that I was able to really get that picture into my mind. That is the case here. Just because a character or event ticks me off though doesn't mean I didn't love the book. These things had to happen for a reason, the story had to be developed and well, she IS an 18 year-old girl. I lost patients with them when I was one.
Would I recommend this book: Absolutely! This is such a magical series. It is filled with mystery, romance, and adventure. I believe anyone, young or old, can enjoy this journey! -
My hope restored I joyfully entered into Sweet Escape desperately needing to know how this story would play out. Nari's world gets a lot more complicated when Mycah shows up in it. He was the most beautiful man Nari had ever seen. She felt a connection to him that she desperately tried to fight. Not understanding the mystery behind his gorgeous blue eyes. Mycah will turn Nari's world upside down if she's not careful. Rydan on the other hand doesn't trust Mycah and has no problem letting Nari nor Mycah know this. This plot just continues to thicken and just when I thought I had it all figured out Namine steps in to show me and everyone else in this story how wrong I was. She lets out a force that she herself wasnot sure she had in her. She goes up against an evil force that is determined to strip all hope away leaving nothing but a path of destruction in it's wake. Can she keep hope alive? Will Nari discover who she really is and accept it? These were the questions I had to have answers for. Sweet Escape like it's predecessor is a beautifully written book that draws you in from the very beginning and take you on a journey that will blow you away. I am hoping that there is a third book as I long to know more.

This one is more action packed than the first and just as suspenseful.
Nariella is thrown into a world she doesn’t understand and creatures she’s only seen in nightmares, searching for the two men that mean the most to her, Mycah and Rydan. Her past is also revealed, and she stumbles upon a part of her life she never knew. The love between Mycah and Nariella is forbidden, so why continue toward the impossible?
“No, you, my love, deserve to be worshipped. You deserve to have every entity that breathes falling at your feet. It takes each single molecule of energy contained inside my body to not give in to the power that you claim over me, because Nariella darling, you are the only creature that can bring me to my knees. You own my soul.”
“Really, love? Is that really all you’ve got?”
“There wasn’t a pair of eyes in the Kingdom who did not see that dragon.”
I enjoyed this book, almost more than the first! Though, Mycah made me mad, BUT so did Nariella. We learn more about Rydan’s character and Namine. All in all, it is a great story line, full of action, and keeps you guessing and your pages turning! I’m in serious Mycah withdrawal and can’t wait for the next book!!! -
The first book of this series was so amazing, I immediately bought and read this book as soon as I finished. And I was not disappointed at all!
The world building in this book was phenomenal and described so well I felt like I was actually there. It's a shame it's not a "real" place that I can hop on a plane to visit for vacation. Instead, I'll simply read this book again and enjoy the time to get to spend there.
I fell in love with the characters in the first book, and I fell deeper in love with them with this story. Unique personalities, emotions, tension, romance - ahh! Simply wonderful.
I wish I could write a more professional sounding review, but even after weeks of thinking about how to explain how amazing this book is, I just can't do more than "You HAVE to read it because this book is FANTASTIC!" I'm hooked on this series and I can't wait for the third book.
This series is something that I'll read over and over and over again and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves great story telling. You won't regret it! -
Oh my goodness, the truths that are revealed, the hardships they face, and that ending were mind blowing! Another sleepless night reading the Sweet Series,I couldn't stop.I had to know if they would succeed. At one point I was just as confused about Mycah's actions as was Nari(I mean this in a good way because that is what the author is trying to portray). I felt for what Nari was going through but I have to say when she puts her mind to it she can kick~but. While one relationship blossoms another is on the rocks. Namine is desperately trying to do her part to save her people but there is only so much she can do under the watchful eye of the False King. Their lives are in danger now than it ever was on Earth.Four teens must find out who they really are and what side they are going to take in a waging war that can only be stopped by the True King,Mycah.

1. She was Bambi in another life - naive for someone who should be a harder, tougher character.
2. Every one is so nice they would have apologised to the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood.
3. Really? Leap frogging skims.
4. I'm a hypocrite as I'm still going for the next book. -
Not what I was expecting
So, I'm not usually into this whole fantasy type thing with elves and what not. But I absolutely loved the world that was created for this book series. I loved the twists and turns and look forward to book three :D -
Amazing Read. I loved it.
-
Fantastic. Read it. Read it now. Actually, read Sweet Oblivion first, or you'll be missing half the story. :)
-
I just need to read the sequel NOWWW.
-
Loved it! Can't wait for the 3rd book <3
-
As with the first in this series, Sweet Oblivion (read my review
HERE ), this book was just as fantastic! I loved every moment of it and stayed glued to the pages until the end.
This story picked up a week after where it left of in the first book. I really enjoyed reading about Nari's journey through Lunil and how she slowly discovered the truth about herself. I loved the way that she handled all the tough situations and problems that were thrown her away, and learned from them. Namine's story was equally as great, and her determination to help save her kingdom was just really amazing. Even in the toughest situations, she continued to remain strong and unwavering in her determination to help good win over evil. It was fun reading their alternate point of views, and being able to see what was going on with each one of my favorite characters.
All the main characters in this book, Nari, Namine, Rydan, and Mych, they are honestly some of the best characters I have ever read about. I loved their unique personalities, and how every one of them seemed to have matured and grew in this book, compared to how they started out in the beginning of the first book. The relationship Nari and Mych shares is without doubt very passionate, intense, and just beautiful. As for Rydan and Namine, their relationship continues to grow at a much more slower pace, but it's equally as beautiful. However, my favorite was the relationship between Rydan and Nari. They are just so adorable together, and it's very obvious that they are best friends. I love the way that Rydan's always there for Nari and treats her like a younger sister, and how she treats him like a brother. Even though I love Nari and Mych, I have to say that I love Rydan & Nari's relationship just as much.
The overall main plot obviously isn't resolved in this book, since there are still more books in this series. However, the subplots were very nicely written and interesting. There were so many twists and turns in this book that it was almost impossible for me to put it down for even one moment!
There honestly isn't any words to describe how much I have fallen in love with this awesome series. This series and this book continues to be one of the best that I have ever read. I love the world of Lunil that Ms. Ardisone has created, but mostly I love the characters in this book.
I highly recommend reading this series. Plus, the first book, Sweet Oblivion, is free wherever ebooks are sold. If you haven't read it yet, you really should because this is one of the best paranormal fantasy series ever, and if you are a fan of this genre, then the Sweet Series is definitely a must read for you. -
Once more I was hurled head first into Bailey's magical worlds to rejoin both Nari and Namine, Rydan and Mycah. A magical world where the truth is hidden and distorted, and there is a war between two Kingdoms of Elves!
Nari's life has been changed forever, ever since Mycah walked into it. Nari and Rydan have lost their one safe place; the weeping willow. This one tree that was their peace and tranquility, for Nari now serves as nothing more than a reminder as to what she no longer has and to just how much things have changed; for all of them. Nari is unsure of who to trust and needs to learn to let her heart and instincts take control as she enters a world that she never knew existed.
Namine is desperately trying to bring home her kingdom's Savior before its too late. However when her dreamweaving abilities are discovered, she is ordered to work for the King and only dreamweave with who he tells her to. Namine continues her own personal quest and goes against the King's orders. Can she succeed without being caught?
Bailey continues with the two POV's throughout, and again it works seamlessly. The end of Sweet Oblivion saw Bailey reveal the secret behind Mycah's and Rydan's past, which in turn caused a whole load more heartache and anguish for Nari. She was left despairing over Rydan. Now Mycah has gone her anguish and despair have gone to a whole other level. Nari closes off from her friends and seems to temporarily shut down.
Namine too suffers some despair as the Kingdoms savior returns only for Bailey to turn him! Bailey make the savior become nothing more than a pawn for the wrongful King, He now stands against everything that he was once fighting for.
Bailey has seduced me into the magical and amazing world that she has created, I felt as though I was there alongside each and everyone of them and apart of their adventures. Bailey has a serious knack for making me believe everything that she has written even when its lies!! This enabled her to drop some pretty big twists on me that I wasn't expecting!!
It was fantastic to learn more about all of the characters and to see how each one has grown and progressed. They are all still loveable and I'm still seriously crushing of Mycah!!
This book is once more filled with magic, romance, action, suspense and emotion. There were times when I held my breath, I wanted to cry out in either warning or in anguish, there were also times when I wanted to cry.
Sweet Escape has answered many many questions that Sweet Oblivion raised, it has also raised more questions that I hope Sweet Requiem will be answering!!
So onto Sweet Requiem... -
It has been declared that I am Bailey's #1 fan! It's the truth, I am her #1 fan! But, as her #1 fan I was a little scared about this book. We all know that book 2 of the series can be the "flop". But I held faith that Bailey would be able to pull out of the Book 2 slump.
This book was PERFECTION! Even though I was getting a little aggravated with it because Mycah and Nari were driving me insane! But, that was okay...that is why Bailey is such an amazing author.
Now if you haven't book 1 I don't want to spoil it by saying things about book 2. So, I'm going to tread carefully.
What I liked:
Twist and Turns! Each chapter pushed us further into the twists and turns of Mycah, Nari, Namine, and Rydan very complicated lives.
The emotions! I was aggravated by the characters at times. Then when pieces of the puzzles came together it was a little easier to understand what was happening. Of course, there was a lot of HAPPINESS when a certain scene finally happened!! *hehe*
What I didn't like:
Okay, I might be Bailey's #1 fan, but there was something that I didn't like. Yep, you guessed it! Another freaking cliffhanger. AND...AND she isn't done with book 3 yet! I mean come on .. does she really need to sleep??? That is valuable writing time!!! -
So, if you have read Sweet Oblivion, you know that Nari and Mycah love each other, but Nari’s life will never be the same again. I couldn’t wait to read Sweet Escape, and I ended up finishing it in one day. Boy, oh boy, did this break my heart!!! And I mean, it totally ripped my heart out, stomped on it, over and over!
Again, Bailey brings her magical touch. You can feel Nari’s pain, it’s like you are actually seeing through Nari’s eyes. This poor girl, her world has just been turned upside down, and she has to figure out things on her own. But her love for Mycah, will never fade. I LOVE Mycah, but he made me so mad, I just wanted to slap him, okay…several times I wanted to slap him. I understand, why Mycah did what he did, but STILL!!!!!! There was one part in the book, that I just did not understand, why Mycah did what he did!!! Once you read the book, you will understand what I am saying.
Even, though my heart was breaking for Nari, I couldn’t help to cheer for Rydan! And Namine too! Hehehehe! Oh, did I forget to mention…there is one scene, that you will praise Bailey for! SWOON! SWOON! SWOON!!!!!!!!
Of course, there is another cliffhanger! And it’s a big one!!!!
Bravo, Bailey for writing another fantastic book!!! -
I was completely blown away by this second installment of the Sweet Series, Sweet Escape! Wow, Bailey Ardisone really out did herself with this one. I loved the first book of this series however, the second was so much better. The characters and world that was build in Sweet Escape was just phenomenal. The detail and imagination that went into building this fantasy is epic. I can't say enough about this book, I absolutely am in love with it. Mycah and Ryden are back in their home land leaving Nari behind or so they thought. Now their world has been throw upside down, things and creatures that only came from dreams exist. We get to see a different side of Ryden that I love, just wish we could see some of Mycah's POV that would be awesome! Their uncle king douche bag is up to nothing but evil as usual and it's up to them to stop him and to top it off the three friends are supposed to be enemies which Nari finds funny and so far from the truth. I love that Nari seems to find herself, I feel like she becomes a strong individual. I am amazed by this series and can't wait to read books three and four as I know Bailey will surprise is with her talent once again. I highly recommend this book to anyone, once you start reading you wont be able to put it down. Never a dull moment.

Sweet Escape by Bailey Ardisone
3 Stars
This is my second review of Sweet Escape. Previously I read it as part of the tour and hadn’t read book one in the series first, that was a mistake, I was left totally confused and had no clue what was going on. I have read ‘Sweet Oblivion’ now so here we go again!
Although I am more clued up on what is happening the names are so similar I kept forgetting which girls POV I had been reading and often felt lost and had to go back. New characters are introduced and the plots in both worlds are quite intricate, it wasn’t what I consider an easy read, it took quite a long time for me to get through, and I struggled to stay focused. I do enjoy fantasy, the possibilities are endless and the worlds created here are magical, exciting and fun, but I have to say this was one of the more challenging stories in the genre I’ve read of late.
I’m not sure if it is just me with this problem or if other readers struggled also, but different names could have made the reading so much easier. The idea for this story is so fresh and doesn’t follow the usual fantasy formula that for me it was let down by what is a simple fix. I will continue with the series and recommend it to other lovers of the genre.

SPOILER!
Not bad lots of action ready to read the next one, I really enjoyed all the creatures and elves, but Mycah really pissed me off! He had a plan the whole entire book but no one knew about it so he looks like an evil elf,he was biding his time to become stronger to take on Ohtar that's why he was so cruel " he had to make Ohtar believe he was on his side." and to do this he had to make . Nariella believe he hated her other wise if Ohtar found any affection between them the would have both been dead, he couldn't risk it, if Nariella knew of his plan she wouldn't be as strong to hide it. So in reality his plan backfired once Nariella was falling to her death.
If you think Rydan's Fae is awsome you should see Mycah's Fae- WOW! I didnt expect that the entire book! I'm just waiting for Nariella to "Mate" with Mycah to reunite all the elves :D, I can barley handle the anticipation this book throws at me!
Yes these kids are "teenage, young adults" there "thoughts", or "words" are going to be a bit different.
ENJOY this book ;) -
Sweet Escape was a wonderful book, as well as an amazing sequel to Sweet Oblivion from the Sweet series. I absolutely loved it from beginning to end and can't wait to read the 3rd book in the series, Sweet Requiem.
There was definitely more shock factor in this book compared to the first one. I could not put it down. It had me surprised throughout the whole book, and wanting to read more. Everything about this book and series is just wonderful. It is very imaginative!
I love how the storyline doesn't go too fast, nor too slow. I loved seeing different sides of the characters I was already familiar with from the first book. It was nice seeing them from a different perspective.
This book, as well as the first one, was well written and I will definitely be buying myself physical copies of these wonderful books. I cannot wait to read Sweet Requiem, and I have to give this book 5 out of 5 stars! :) -
does anyone else think namine is just lame? dude. girl, give out the relevant info. please. and Rydan seems like his character just got totally turned into a pouty baby. boom. whiner. he was cool, now he is a weeny. and so no one talks about the land dying why? kill that girl, but the dark elves are the bad guys? heyo has no one noticed the land dying? why are we chasing kids when the whole realm is supposed to be dying. not one good guy is introduced. everyone is bad and bigoted to the point of kill the traitor maniacs. like everyone. so basically the whole realm is nuts. why are they trying to save the dark elves again? and the light elves are also total a-holes. so everybody sucks, but the elf who lives alone in th e woods aren't ok? (alright maybe she was super crazy- but u could respect her decision to be crazy alone in the woods instead of in the mob) idk this is getting worse. I'm still reading thinking soon, soon it will get better. (book 3 update: but it doesn't.)

A fabulous continuation of the Sweet series by Bailey Ardisone! The story picks right up where Sweet Oblivion ends, but where book one is set mainly in modern day Earth, book two is primarily in an alternate fantasy world full of griffins, phoenixes and dragons galore. The attention to detail is breathtaking, and the conclusion had me rushing to my Kindle store to purchase book three. The only thing I think would make it better is if there was a small amount of re-hashing of events that happened in book one. I remembered most of the events, but not all - and since the events just kept building on top of each other, it took me a little bit to remember all of the background details. This book is perfectly appropriate for readers 15+.

Oh Nari, you just cannot catch a break! This second book was fantastic! So many plot twists, so much action! I cannot say enough about it! I was SUPER lucky to have gotten this one free in exchange for a review, and since it was on my wish list, I was so SO excited about it!
Bailey Ardisone did NOT disappoint!
Nari, Mycah, Rydan, and Namine all end up in their home realm. Mycah and Rydan find their Fea's, which are both so cool. Mycah is a jerk, but all for good reason. Only Nari doesn't know this and is even more brokenhearted and pissed off (with good reason!). Rydan and Namine FINALLY get to meet, and they are just the sweetest couple.
King Ohtar..the dude is a jerk...for real! Can't wait to read the third book and see him destroyed! -
Maybe it's because I have so much going on right now but I didn't feel the need to keep reading this book. I felt like Nari talked about what she was going to do way too much. Ry is like none existent. Oh except to hug her. Blah. I read someone else's review and they asked where all the good elves are. I wonder the same thing!!! Oh and the mom appearance. Um weird!! And isn't it obvious that if the kids dad was killed then his son should be king. Right?!?! So why don't the people see this?? Oh and the make our sense....hello this is suppose to be a dang teen book!!! I was worried I'd have to put the book down. Geez
