Bridget O'Shea had sworn she'd never fall in love again. She had a hotel, The Black Swan, to operate alone, since her sisters--Catherine and Alice--had both married the previous year. And then there was Ella, her lovely baby daughter. The hotel and Ella took up all her time and energy. Wyatt Ferguson had planned on staying in Huttig, Arkansas, just long enough to wait for the next train going south. But a red-haired lady who thought he was another out-of-work soldier just home from the war insisted on hiring him to kill a rat for her. The Black Swan seemed a good place to stay for a while. After all it was only for six weeks and what could happen in that time?

Come High Water (A Black Swan Historical Romance, #3) Reviews

I just had to stay up and finish this book tonight. This was such a good series. Of course, you know how it ends for the most part but that's ok. The epilogue though....it just wrapped up the mystery that started the whole thing and it was great. I never even considered that possibility. Great book and I adored all the characters, start to finish

Great ending to the series. I loved all the witty humor and the obvious digs between the characters. I would definitely recommend this book to others. It did take me until this book to realize the titles matched the girls earth, air, and water personalities. Glad to finally know where Ralph ended up and how the epilogue wrapped up the stories perfectly.

    The Hotel that Love Built

What an amazing historical saga. I have been totally invested in the lives of these three lovely Irish coleens. It has been so wonderful to be taken back to a simpler time when people really worked all day long and a dollar was really a lot of money.

A captivating and entertaining read - fun, witty, and set in 1918 near the Arkansas-Louisiana border at the O'Shea family's Black Swan Inn. The book read like a delightful stand-alone but two other books preceded it that I'll be looking for next!

  • Deborah Roberts

Fun series. Can relate to quarantine craziness.

Love the earth, air and water sisters! I think this one is my favorite. Thanks Carolyn Brown for keeping us entertained during our modern day flu epidemic.
