This pamphlet offers an introduction into literary survival: author Dirk van Weelden serves as a guide along several hot topics in the literary landscape of the lowlands. After a preliminary analysis of the book market, which is evidently too short to allow for a multifaceted and nuanced image, but the second part is highly interesting. Speaking of survival, Van Weelden speaks highly of the Dutch cultural magazine De Gids which today no longer operates as an independent institute - instead it comes with De Groene Amsterdammer. However, his dreams about a literary world of sharing and inspiring one another and the concrete ideas he brings to light are a recommended read. Let's get together with literature. I wish he had known about Goodreads.
