I've had this book for about 20 years, bought for me as a gift age 15 or thereabouts. I read the intro before but didn't get any further although always intended to come back to it and finally have. Interesting read inbetween the novels. The majority of it was educational, then the latter parts were often nicely sentimental. There were a few aspects that rung true with me about the ecology here as I'm of the opinion we rarely give to the world, only take or try to repair damage of our own making.
