BLOOD SINGERS:
A sub-species of human beings.

Twenty-year old Julia Wade, a young woman tragically widowed, is in the middle of a bizarre bid between two mythical species who are vying for the unique properties she offers; her blood. The vampires need her to balance the food load of the human species and give them their coveted "Lightwalkers." The Were wish to be moonless changers; a Rare One can make that a reality.

Julia wants to belong to herself.

Can she free herself and begin a new life?
BLOOD SONG:
Julia has been ripped from the escape she'd planned for herself. When she awakens to discover that her reality has shifted to include a supposed soul-meld with a man she hates, and who hates her... she rebels. Julia doesn't want to be captive in a gilded cage.

Broken from the horrific events surrounding her friends, Cynthia migrates to the very city that Julia resides, determining to find her as the police follow the bread crumbs she's left in her wake.

The Feral has come full circle and must begin a new life from the shadow of the old. His placement in the hierarchy of the pack is uncertain when he finds that he has an integral enemy and a pack member to protect.

Can the vestiges of Julia's former life be restored so she might reunite with her one true love or has that door closed forever because of supernatural circumstances beyond their control?
BLOOD CHOSEN:
Julia has Awakened and in so doing bound herself to her one true soulmate, the king to her queen. The blood-binding, which was foretold between fang and claw, ultimately rescued her from certain death and the Circle of Protection is now complete.

Yet, another would-be queen vies for the position of ultimate ruler and believes she has found an ancient loophole that will upset the new balance of potential peace that has been put into play by Julia's prophesied reign. Jacqueline will stop at nothing to achieve her goals, even using the dreaded Were to further her victory.

Cynthia and Adrianna form an unlikely alliance to survive against an enemy that now has help for her madness to take shape. Emmanuel, the Feral and Truman find themselves drawn to defend and protect a new order with a past that haunts their efforts.

Can Julia and her one true mate bring peace to the species and rescue the ones they love? Will the Blood Singers fulfill their destiny to unite three groups of sworn enemies to come together as one?

    Quite a journey

I enjoyed the first three books in this series, it was quite a journey for some of the characters. It's full of true friendships, true love, lust for power and what some will do to get it. I found the books easy to read, funny at times and a bit sad at other times, but very frustrating for a couple characters. I look forward to the rest of the series.

I only just about managed to work my way through to the end of Book 1. This was a frustrating read for what could have been a good story. There are a lot of characters to try and follow and the storyline chops and changes between all these characters at lightening speed without ever really allowing me a chance to understand and get to know what is going on. Just when i think i am getting to grips with it, a whole load more new characters come onboard and i'm back to square one. Instead of being exciting and moving the story along at a good pace it just becomes frustrating. The storyline itself could be interesting, although most of the book is taken up with Julia being kidnapped from one place to the next to the next. Sorry i won't be reading the next one.

    Rare One

I was kind of hesitant at first to continue reading as the first book really didn’t capture my interest at first. But by the middle I needed to know where this was going. From Vampires and Were and Singers then add in Fey and others. I’m excited to continue the story in books 4-6.

I love reading. I love looking for mistakes/inconsistencies. I'm a critical thinker. Perhaps that is a bad combination when it comes to reading? I don't know. Either way, I can't help but notice areas of a story (scene/character) in which some aspect doesn't make sense or line up with what is already known about that specific area. Oh, man! I had such a field day with this one, even though I only barely got through book 1. Obviously, those that have rated this series 5 stars, are not critical thinkers. That's not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to reading. For me, I overanalyze certain things which can annoy other people. But if something doesn't make sense to me, I can't help but question why it doesn't make sense. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

    **************************
Here's the story in a nutshell:
We're introduced to Julia who is a boring teenager.
    Julia's husband is killed.
Julia is taken by the vampires where she "hangs out" for a year.
    Julia attempts to escape.
Julia is taken by the vampires, again, and spends several months "hanging out," again.
The vampires finally take her back to their coven where she spends several more months "hanging out..." again.
Out for a run, the Weres grab Julia.
The Singers rescue Julia from the Weres.
    She is with her people.
    The end.
    ****************************

There are certain stories that really call to me. This is one of those. It wasn't written well. It was boring because nothing was going on the majority of the time. I didn't connect with any of the characters because none of them came across as being very smart. In fact, it was all the mistakes that had me finish book 1 of this series. Once I'm on a mistake journey, I can't stop. But! I can say I won't be continuing with this series.

Moving on, the way the timeline (flashbacks/present) was written horribly! Yes, the author provided some titles throughout the chapters, but the titles didn't always have to do with what/when the time was, sometimes it was just a character's name because she was changing the POV. Some chapters had the past and present mixed together. In the end, it was hard to follow. Additionally, sometimes they'll be a paragraph in one character's POV doing some action (such as when Adriana punched Tony in the gut), the next paragraph was Tony's POV basically retelling her action. IDK...I wasn't a fan of that either.

The overall writing style...yeah, I wasn't a fan. I felt like the majority of the story involved skipping/jumping from one part to the next; there wasn't a smooth transition from one scene to the next. And the way the author broke down some of the chapters was strange. For example, Chapter 3, it starts off with Julia and the vampires (normal paragraphs), but then something unknown happens because the author uses her first * when Julia watches them, second * when William crouches down, third * Julia sees William looking at her. I found it strange that these paragraphs were separated the way they were when it was all part of the same scene.

Additionally, a lot of the dialogue seemed stilted or was just written strangely. An example of the stilted dialogue, Julia and Jason return from the prom. He sneaks into her room and he asks why she hasn't cleaned the makeup off her face. He walks over to her and states "The dance turned out okay, Jules." The way he states that made it seem like Julia had contradicted him or said something negative about the dance when she hadn't. An example of strange dialogue, "They may already be in the area. Werewolves." There were other lines where the main part of the sentence was said, then a period, followed by a single word like "Vampires."

Did I mention the writing was really bad? For example, "Julia, run!" (Jason tells Julia) "...before the beast sank its talon into his neck with its talons, squeezing." What did the beast use? His talons. Got it!

I found several grammatical mistakes throughout the story as well. For example, "Julia cocked and eyebrow." There's no way an editor, beta-reader, friend, someone who can read...the author! read/reread this prior to it being published.

    Questions/Comments:

Why did it take Julia's mother so long to turn around once she was done adjusting her seatbelt? I didn't understand that.

Julia lies to her aunt when she sneaks the coffee. I would assume that her aunts drink coffee, hence, the smell wouldn't have given her away. Even if her aunt drink it, wouldn't she have been able to tell that more coffee from the pot was gone than should have been?

Strangest line #1: "'Let me convince her,' the one named Pierce said, his stare covering her body like decaying liquid." Huh? Decaying liquid?

Strangest line #2: Terrell is staring at Julia. "Really looked at her, starting at her head and ending at her feet, sweeping over her private parts with a lingering look." Now when I think of private parts it's usually a penis or vulva/vagina, otherwise...well...boobs are boobs. So, Terrell was staring at Julia's jean-clad vulva/vagina? Do guys typically check out a girls cootch when she's wearing pants? Non-see-through pants?

Strangest line #3: Cyn is hugging Jason. "...with one arm and flinging the other around Jason, her hand finding the middle of his back. It was where she could reach him." For Julia, that seemed a strange thing to think or notice.

Questioning line #1: "But they could tarry here no longer." Tarry?

Questioning line #2: "The time was ripe for William to make haste to his home kiss..." Home kiss?

Questioning line #3: "Julia felt her bowels hiccup." Does that mean she farted?

Stupid line #1: "No, you forced your blood inside of me!" As though he had raped her.

Funny line #1: The cab driver is dropping Julia off. "'I let you off here. Eight dollars,' he said without verbs." Um...Ms. Author...you do realize the word "let" is a verb, correct? Where's the editor!

Julia wakes up to William and Pierce talking about her. Some she doesn't notice one of them walk towards her because "an icy hand clamped around her forearm gently and moved it off of her eyes..." but then "Julia watched them come..." Wouldn't she have only watched one of them come towards her, since the other one was already near her, hence, he moved her arm?

At one point, it's acknowledged that Julia doesn't want to eat/drink anything from the vampires, yet, they've been force-feeding her soup and giving her water, all without her knowledge (until she later remembers). William attempts to give her some of his blood. Of course, she won't cooperate. Therefore, Pierce holds her head still so the blood can drop into her mouth. Ah...why would her mouth be open though? No ones pinching her nose so her mouth pops open. So that part didn't make sense, much less when William's wrist is by her mouth and she's sucking the blood? Why would she have done that? She's trying to bite his arm, yet there wouldn't be a need to suck the blood to bite down. Again, no sense. Why didn't these vampires have mind-control?

In case anyone is curious, Julia blushes! "A blush came over her face...the blush still staining her cheeks...The high color marking her cheekbones..." All within a single paragraph.

Jumping back in time to when it's the last day of school, Julia is laughing hysterically because Jason flipped Kevin off. I seriously couldn't figure out why she thought it was so funny.

What was with Terrell? When he first walks up to the group, "He dismissed the Wade (Julia) girl..." Yet, he ends up focusing his gun on her and comments, "If you were not here, then I could...stop having this pain." Huh?

Jason and Julia are at the police station after he's killed Terrell. They're claiming self-defense. "You're of age, son. It doesn't matter that you were still technically a student. We know you're over eighteen." Yes, he's over eighteen. We got that part. BUT what does that have to do with him claiming self-defense? NOTHING! Moving on, why hadn't Julia's aunt come to pick her up from the station? That left me baffled. Her niece was almost murdered, yet waits at home? Speaking of her aunt, "She skipped down the stairs..." How in the world is that even possible? I don't get why she was so against Julia?! Was he ever explained in this series?

Seriously though, who refers to vampires as blood drinkers the majority of the time they're mentioned and not simply vampires? Like it's the Weres and the Blood Drinkers.

William is talking to Julia and she mentions how she was basically kidnapped. Years later (not really, but a good amount of time has passed), "William's expression darkened at her terminology [kidnapped]." His look was very delayed that I had to go back and reread that section to figure out which word would have caused his reaction.

Julia is dressing to meet the gang at the beach. She has her hoodie on and wishes she had also worn a "puffy." What is a puffy?

Julia, William, and Pierce arrive at the airport in Seattle. Julia is thinking it's the perfect time for her to make her great escape. Why? Because somehow the runners (William and Pierce) "were already in the city." Huh? How are they not at the airport with her when they are at the airport with her?

So, Julia's "transformation" was hilarious, at least what all it entailed. First off, how in the world does she manage to cut her hair...with...plastic...scissors? lol Secondly, one of the vampires just happens to dye his hair, and she was able to get this dye that was obviously not in her room? Thirdly, she puts the dye in her hair and suddenly is rinsing it out already. Later once she gets to the women's shelter and showers, she's surprised that it's rinsing out; it "...figured she would have grabbed the wash-out gradually dye." Yeah, that comment made absolutely NO sense. 1. If it was gradual anything, she would have still had black hair given she'd just died it. 2. It wouldn't have been a gradual wash-out dye because she didn't even give it time to work correctly. Had she been in the bathroom correctly dying her hair and waiting the allotted time (twenty minutes), I'm sure one of the vamps would have come in to check on her. 3. On another note, how did she manage to get the hair dye through security (usually more than 3 ounces) when she couldn't the scissors?

Julia's "transformation" outfit. She's wearing a cropped shirt (one she cropped herself, for whatever reason), boots, and a skirt. How would that equate to a "crazy getup?" Speaking more on her new look, how did Pierce not realize it was her when she came out of the bathroom? Surely the hair dye smell would have caught his attention...or her natural smell itself! He's a vamp. Vamps have a great sense of smell. Okay, so he must have had a stuffy nose that day. What about her racing heartbeat? Surely that would have caught his attention...fast heartbeat equals blood equals a hungry vampire. But nope. She managed to walk/run right past him without him even knowing it.

At one point, William tells Julia that she no longer has run after they've first "rescued" her. When has she ever had to run?

When the hell would Elvis have ever worn tassels or had a "clown-red mouth"? Never!

After escaping, Julia has thirty dollars, five dimes, and a single penny. Yet, after spending $8 on the cab and $5 on the bus, she's suddenly out of money. Additionally, After exciting said cab, it states that "Julia had familiarized herself with the Seattle region..." How? When?

Do the vampires really have any powers at all? They can't in-trall(?) Julia, they can't seem to scent her very well, typically vampires can recognize a specific heartbeat but not, in this case, they're not all that strong against the Weres...oh, that's right, they can somehow talk to each other in such a high decimal that humans can't hear it but dogs can. Isn't that cool! No, it's not.

The vampires attack a guy that was about to or had already raped a woman. One vamp is at the guy's neck. So where does the second vamp go? His wrist? No way! He goes straight for the inner thigh! Yummy!

I'm all for an author who adds his/her own take to a common theme, for example, vampires and werewolves. But for the story, the fact that both creatures had poison/venom that came out of their claws/talons...yeah...no. That was a little above and beyond for my liking. Speaking of the talons though, at one point one of the vamps had talons as long as Julia's forearm. Seriously? Trying to imagine that makes me laugh. It just sounds very...questionable.

William is giving Julia the second bout of blood. "As the drops fell..." see they've already started falling, "...her full lips parted..." okay, "...and the first trembling drop held itself suspended for a moment like a glittering gem then fell." Huh? The author did say "drops fell" prior, correct? But then how is the first drop trembling, if drops have already fallen?

If Claire's great-grandmother had been a Rare One, what happened to her to where the rest of the vamps are totally clueless about what all is entailed for a Rare One?

The whole story behind the Blood Singers made no sense to me at all. They "...brought the quality of the blood to a level that made all human blood palatable to the vampires." What? So they'd drink from a Blood Singer and would be fine for a while or something, in the meantime they could drink from regular humans?

Adriana, I could not stand! Joseph, at one point, claims she's also an Alpha. Did the author know what an Alpha werewolf was prior to writing this story? I think not. Adriana is the younger, whiny, annoying, full-of-herself, steps-on-your-toes, gets easily offended, little sister. She's not Alpha material. The fact that she corrects her brother, an Alpha, in front of his subordinates/Tony? Yeah...I would have slapped her for that.

So Claire is a human, yet her brother, Gabriel is the head vampire in Seattle? How does that work?

"Twice now, he'd given her his blood. Each (both) times, it had been life-saving." Wrong. Only the first time was it life-saving.

So, the werewolves know the exact spot of the vampire lair. Yeah, that's it. They've known about it since 1898. They are sworn enemies also. Yup. Just saying.

A bunch of vampires are attacking Julia in the bathroom while at the ball/dance. Where was the master? Could no one besides William control themselves? Plus, afterward, why did Claire get embarrassed at that, given the fact a bunch of vampires were killed?

Speaking of the dance. Julia has a bump on her noggin' as well as the bite wound on her shoulder. Yet, somehow she's bleeding out. Nothing has been said about their fangs being larger than normal...yes, the venom keeps the wound from closing...but how would the size of a wound (two small holes) cause her to bleed out? Is there an artery I'm unaware of in your shoulder?

Speaking of her injury...it's months later when the werewolves track Julia while she's out running with the vampires. It's months later and she still has the wounds? Speaking of the dance, again, Julia is thinking about the fact she no longer fears William after him saving her. Yet, the phrase "Just a few days ago..." makes it sound like...it was just a few days since the dance when it's been months. Even more questionable is that the scene above was not in the "present" because the next * is titled "The Present." See what I mean about the timeline issues being confusing?

Julia is questioning how Claire can be older than William if they're cousins when "She (Claire) looks like she's ten years older than me (Julia)?" That part made no sense. What would Julia's age have to do with Claire and William being cousins? None.

We learn that Gabriel is originally from Scotland. Common sense would tell me that his sister, Claire, would also be. Right? Either way, based on their dialogue, neither have an accent, whereas...I forgot the packmaster of the Werewolves does, in fact, have a Scottish accent. Isn't that strange?

Prior to Julia being taken by Joseph, William is fighting a Were. "Before he (William) lost consciousness, he tore the head from the neck of one, and warm blood sprayed his face." So basically he was strong enough to rip a head off a body of someone who was fighting him and then suddenly passed out?

The many ways that Julia's hair was described:
"...almost blond with a hint of red" strawberry blonde
    "...ginger-colored" orange
    "...burnished red hair" dark red
    "soft red" soft/light red

So what color is her hair?

When did Pierce die? Wouldn't there have been a bigger "HEY! PIERCE WAS KILLED!" prior to William calmly thinking about the fact he's dead?

Why was the vampire coven referred to as a "kiss?" I've never heard that before.

At one point in the story, at least that I remember, the purpose for the Rare One was that she'd allow the werewolves (after generations of breeding) to change into wolf form at will, no moon required. Similarly, the vampires would be able to walk in the sun, after that gene or whatnot is bred out. So why did Tony think that by claiming Julia, he would have control over his wolf asap?

Why, oh, why, did the vamps, specifically, William, wait until the night of the full moon to rescue Julia? How much sense did that make?

What was the point of the one Were who visited Cyn? I mean, it's like who would believe that she saw a werewolf? Come on! Yet, the guy was continually showing up in her room two years later?

The Feral. It's stated at one point that he can "...partially change at will and didn't need the moon." Um...but they all could partial change. Hence, the majority of the time they're in their half-man/half-were form.

So Adriana is going into feed or check on the Feral. She automatically thinks he's escaped. What does she do? Why she opens the slot (where the food is normally put in for the Feral) and feels around for the alarm. Ah...the alarm in the cage with the Feral? Seriously? Who thought that made sense? Not me!

Moving on to the Singers who rescue Julia. Brendan is fighting off a Were and "Using the last of his consciousness, he lit this dude up too." Then he moves on with his sister, grabs Julia, and they run away. When did he pass out? He didn't. Additionally, Brendan, when he was feeling faint, was on his back on the ground, yet, somehow, Julia and his sister are nearby and Julia has to look up at Brendan.

Brendan is running away with Julia. "Visions of William on fire...She didn't know why it mattered..." Again, ah...it mattered because he was there to rescue her. It mattered because he'd saved her life multiple times now. It mattered because they were friends on the verge of something more. Yet, in Julia's mind, him burning alive didn't matter.

So the Singer gang is in their van surrounded by Weres that are on the sides and top of it. How were none of these creatures able to get inside a van? The windshield, for example!

Okay, one of the Singer brothers is able to make it appear that vampires have shown up while they're still in the van, attempting to get away from the Weres. Why, given the fact that Julia is special/Rare One and is so important to the Weres, would the Were/Tony go chasing towards the imaginary vamps instead of try to get to Julia? No sense there.

In the end, there are three groups who want Julia/The Rare One:
Vampires- William (potential love interest) and Claire
Werewolves- Joseph (potential love interest) and Adriana
Singers- Michael (potential love interest) and...whatever his sisters name is.
Notice anything there? Julia seriously had to have "happy" feelings towards each main male in each group.

Omg! I'm usually a vampire fan all the way!

The baseline for this story is epic! It's
prodigious, fun, yet forbidden and sinfully exceptional! A must read! - Nook Books and More Blog
The book gives you countless POV so you can follow each one with ease. At first it took me a little time to get use to but, enjoyed it because I was able to see everything from each persons perspectives.
Julia is fun and in love. She can't wait to fall in Jason's arms as his wife once school finishes. She's quirky, fun, loving, and easy going. So far I'm not sure about her character. She needs more of a backbone but she is human after all or is she?

Jason is totally in love with Julia. He is counting the moments til they wed. He'd do anything for her. They seem to be on different sides of the track.
Jules best friend Addy. She's fun, loving, yet cocking. One thing for sure she loves her best friend.
Then they wed and before they consummate their marriage their world is turned upside down. Things are t what they seem and their pushed into a world they didn't know existed.

Once their world turned upside down the emotional roller coaster began! Be prepared to experience all emotions. You will not want to put this book down.
This series puts an amazing twist on such a diversity in the paranormal world. It explains the battles that all diversity struggle with even in their world. I found that interesting.
The twist and turns bring a new danger as more characters are introduced. The characters start to evolve. I was definitely on the edge of my seat!
There where flashbacks within the story that gave you an overall picture of the backstory so it made it easier to follow. There was so much drama and active with such unusual plots that it was easy to keep you intrigued through out the entire book. I'm not sure why some maybe confused from all the different POV. This is awesome. Why wait a long time for a different POV when you can lose some of what's going on from a past read. The flow was impeccably smooth. I was able to follow and not get lost on any scenes. I'm hoping for William! Yes I admit Im team William! Awesome read! Way to go Tamara!

    Was an ok read

I gave this a three star because at first it was really good , a girl whom lost her parents forced to live with an aunt falls in love runs off to marry . Then the plot picks up she learns of paranormal beings exist in the worst way. She learns of who she is and why she is taken . Then the book declined for me once she accept her fate somewhat and gets cozy she token by the were and then again by another group. It was just dragged out for too long and I lost interest. I did however finished the set and unfortunately it was not to my liking. That is just my opinion .

    It was okay to read

I didn't really get into these books but I did finish them. They kept going up and down, up and down. I got confused a coupon let of times but the books kept me interested enough to finish them and possible find out what happens next in the series but I hope the next book isn't as bad or confusing as these two.

  • Lucinda

I couldn't even get into this series. I was getting so confused with the back and forth that I couldn't figure out what was going on. I got a third of the way into the first book before just giving up. It would have been better to write Jason and Julia's bit then go on to what happened after.

  • Lucy Ashley

    My. Head. Hurts.
    Too many characters.
    Not enough world building.
    Did not finish.

  • Andreea Pausan

Just a jumble of every paranormal type ever in the bibliosphere, vampires, werewolves, faes and other, I was expecting the jinny in the bottle, all coveting a single woman. Meh.

A queen to unite all with her blood 5 RED STARS

She will be bound by fang, claw and blood, the kiss of the moon on high against where she lays to sleep. The queen shall bear the mark of the peacekeeping Singer....Your blood calls to us. It sings to us. We follow it like a melody on the wind. All roads lead to the Blood Singer. This girl. The Blood Singer from the Book of Blood. The Rare One. In the absence of hope, darkness bloomed like a black orchid.

Since this is the first time I have read this series, I am reviewing it as a whole (books 1-8), rather than each book. WOW! What a truly FANTASTIC series!!! This series is my soap opera, in all the best, juciest ways! So addicted! Need to know what’s happening and NOW! :) I was thoroughly addicted, caught in its grip, unable to put it down! I love, Love, LOVE how Tamara Rose Blodgett weaves such an intricate story complete with love, heartbreak, heartache, passion, friendship, enemies, lovers, allies and oh so much more all while seamlessly integrating so many characters to love & hate (sometimes both!) who belong to any one (or more!) of numerous species but done in a way to keep the reader engaged and following along, incorporating them without even realizing just how many people you now know & follow! It’s in depth in all the right places & ways and has such deep, dark passionate tones, as well as the lighter, happier sides too, that are all brought together so perfectly to make one helluva unique and creative series! I am blown away by the multitude of species and their abilities both as a whole, as well as what each individual is capable of! Each and every aspect & piece of the story brings layer upon layer of enrichment from complex characters, scenery, flow of the storytelling to the compelling storylines! Love the vernacular, quips, quotes & wording that fits for each character and/or species, meaning that the teens or "young'ins" speak & act as they should, while the "old" ones speak as they should, which adds an even deeper layer of "realism" to the story & characters. It was so hard to figure out the "good guys" from the "bad guys", (which is a great thing!) but what chafed me the most is falling for one that I was so sure was worthy of my adoration, then finding out he is total scum!! LOL But that is why I love, Love, LOVE Tamara's books! Her ability to write & create such deeply enriched books that capture my attention, drawing me in so deep that it feels like I am living the story, being surprised by every twist & turn that I never saw coming, really meeting & becoming friends (or enemies) with the multifaceted characters, becoming said characters, seeing every single bit of it in my mind’s eye, time after time, book after book, series after series, no matter the genre, is proof of just how phenomenally talented and exceptionally gifted Tamara Rose Blodgett truly is and why she is one of my absolutely favorite authors to read & binge read!!

The bundle I purchased had the first 3 books in the series. I had a hard time getting through the first book because the first half of it had way too many time jumps. Once I got to the end of the first book and moved on to the second, I was really starting to enjoy it, and couldn't wait to see how it ended. In the third book, it felt like the author was trying to cram as many characters into the story as she could. It made it very hard to continue following the book...it was hard trying to keep track of everyone. Finally, the third book ends with a huge cliffhanger. If I'd been a fan and wanted to keep reading the series, it would have made me anxious to get the next book. As it was, it just annoyed me and made me feel like I wasted my time reading the books. I may try to read the rest of the series at a later date, but right now, I'm not a fan.

    DNF

    The blurb was intriguing.
Were vs vamp with human girl in between? Let's see what will happen.

Chapt 1 looks good for background character. Then, chapt 2 made me turn back a page, thinking I'm missing something. Cause all of the sudden, Julia, the main girl, was bound, starved, bloody with three vamps looking at her like she was dinner.

And if that's not enough to make me loosing grip for a second, the multiply POV with main and side characters, throw me off balance real good.

Theeen... The scene switch. One page they were at prom, the next page Julia was in bed waiting for her fiancee to sneak in through her window.
The scene switch didn't have any space or sign that they were in different scenes. Scenes, as in plural. Repeated. so yeah... DNF🙄

Too long, too predictable, too many pov's

If you need a drearily long read where the precognitive heroine 1. dang near everybody wants for something 2. faints and gets kidnapped every time the wind blows, and 3. sees the next dire situation coming a mile away yet falls prey to them all anyway, this is the read for you. I hate not finishing a book, and this one has great potential, but the heroine has a teacup's worth of spine. Why is it rare to find a book where the lead characters aren't so easily dominated and defeated, not always this close to being dead and can be decisive? All this goes on in the real world for free. I don't want to pay to read about it too.

This world of blood singers is very creative and very confusing but very intriguing. I definitely recommend for you to read it if you enjoy paranormal such as vampires, werewolves, fey, and other magical people singers. Great read! Loved the story but hated that Julia was getting kidnapped way too much for my liking. Lol.... other than that its a love triangle that makes it difficult for Julia and her high school sweetheart to move on forward. And a lot of discoveries of how she is part of a prophecy.

Like no other I have read, this book does have it all. Julia is special. The Weres want her to fulfill the prophecy of their book of Luna. The Vampires want her to fulfill their book of the Blood and the Singers want her to fill her role as the Queen. All she wants is Jason but after an attack just the day after their marriage, she is taken and Jason is left for dead. So begins her long trial of survival as one faction wars with the other to possess her.

    It sucks you in!

I purchased the first three books out of curiosity and was NOT disappointed. From the very first book, you’re drawn into a world with complex yet relatable characters. As well as a story line that is ever evolving and keeps you on your toes. I can’t wait to read the rest!!

    Awesome

This is an awesome series and I cannot wait to read the rest! The characters and storyline are complex and exciting enough to hold a readers interest even when it gets a bit lengthy and indirect. Eventually the information loops back around later so that’s a great thing and has kept me reading. Try the first one and see how it goes for you :)

It reminded me of the twilight series.

I chose this rating because it was very. I also liked the fact that the author included some of her other books early chapters. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who can't follow different characters plot lines and gets very confused easily.

I really enjoyed this booklet. It was such an interesting concept and I loved the main characters. It broke my heart when one of them dies because that are just that intriguing. This booklet is a must read set.
