Lust led me to his bed.
I was homeless, strapped for cash, and running from my past.
Now I'm here, in a brand-new state, miles away from home, and sleeping in the room next to his.
The room with the revolving door of females.
I know he's a bad idea for me. He's cocky, a manwhore, and way too self-assured for a sheltered girl with secrets.
But when he smiles at me, I lose my freaking mind.
I don't want her in my home.
She's too sweet for a prick like me.
Too innocent.
Too f*cking much.
I have more baggage, secrets, and commitments than she could ever understand.
I need her gone, dammit, but I keep pulling her back in.
I'm blurring lines with this girl.
She's a temptation I can't resist, and I'm losing my head.
I'm so goddamn screwed…
Break My Fall is the first installment of the bestselling Broken series. Due to its explicit content, bad language, and graphic sexual content, Break My Fall is recommended for mature readers of seventeen years and above.

What did I just read ?
I’m sorry have to jump from 5 stars of yours to one
Why oh why I even survive to read it at the end ...
With a bleeding hope the h will for once stand for herself
H is the most distracting personality, rude , manwh0r3 and oh so full of himself
Nope whatever terrible past you have you were not allow to treat any women like him
Please grow up
I’m basically rambling here because there’s so many scene really taking my nerves up the notch
So sorry sometimes romance must stay romance , I don’t sign up for this BS of a meek h and super b0ll0cks H to add on the bonus a very disgusting gf who like to bodyshame or all kind of women shame
Yes you got it right this H so called H here were taking the V card of h while have a gf not that only he still do it with the gf and name calling h with reason to protect her , Man.... he definitely lost his balls
Oh well not a problem after so many rejection & absolutely mistreating by H - the h will always come back to him because she is so fragile and in love
Girl put some dignity , I’ll get some tea to cooling down from this distracting read ride -
2.5 or 3 Stars? The editing was awful! I over looked it because I liked the book until the last 10%. I just can't believe this book ended like it did! WHY???? I can't imagine reading another whole book about them! Lee decides at the end of this book to finally push Kyle away??? WTF??? Jeez! Just fucking stupid!! I see there is not one but three more books after this. Well good luck if you decide to jump into the crazy drama train! I will just pretend that Lee and Kyle had their happily ever after in this one. lol

Self note,
H still whoring around after being intimate with the h,but they’re not “together.” Loads of evil ow sex drama (he’s forced to have sex).
Melluvsbooks has details. -
Packed with angst, drama and unnecessary bs, but in some twisted kind of way I did enjoy parts of it.
Still need to recover from the constant whiplash it gave me! -
Reread 2021 - I feel like my heart has been through a blender. 😫😫😫
This book is just filled to the brim with all the drama and angst, and ends on a sh*tty cliffhanger.
I whined through the whole thing. B*tching and moaning to my long-suffering reading buddy. 🤣
Random observations:
Kyle is such an @$$hole!
This Rachel b*tch is the wooooorrrrrrrst! Die! Die! Die!
Oh poor sweet Lee. You darling dumb-dumb. Poor lamb.
*Clutches Pearls* Well, DAAAAAAAMMMN, Kyle! 👀 look at you with the jealous/ possessive *dir-tay talk* 🥵🥵🥵
Oh nooooooooooooo!!!! 😱😱😱😩😩😩😩😩😭😭😭
I can’t take it.
I can’t.
My poor tortured baby, Kyle. 😢😢😢🥺
Bottom Line? Did I want to DNF every other chapter of this REREAD? Hell. Yes. Did I love it? Also, yes. Will I reread the next book? Absolutely. After I give my poor beat up heart a rest. 💔 🤡
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 — I could take everything except where he left Lee to walk home from work alone for WEEKS after he took her v-card. I know he was avoiding her, but that was a step too far for me. 😬 He could have at least followed her like a sad sack to be sure she got home ok. 🤷🏼♀️ Sorry, Kyle, you lose half a star. 😅
⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️
*DEEP BREATH*
- cheating? Ummm… no-ish? Really depends on how you define it. If you require absolute fidelity after they meet, this isn’t for you. This situation is *complicated* The H kisses the h and has several heavy petting sessions before they are committed and he is still whoring around… for *reasons* - he’s trying very hard to resist her 🤷🏼♀️ it’s not a black and white situation.
- no sharing
- aaaaaallll the OW drama - there’s an Evil Cackling Whore who has him by the balls, basically blackmailing him… it’s all but rape 🤷🏼♀️ - he is also sleeping with OP… as both a middle finger to the psycho OW, but also in a desperate attempt to stay away from the h… *REASONS*
- OM drama - H gets crazy jealous over anyone who looks at the h. 😍😍😍😍
- no dubcon - besides the H being coerced into sex with OW
- h is a virgin
- H is a manwhore — HOWEVER - he always wraps it up. It’s an important plot point. 👌🏻
- domestic violence against the h by OP (flashbacks)
- attempted sexual assault against the h by OP (flashbacks)

This was a great toxic relationship book. The heroine was too naive and the hero, too much of a womanizer. But I still enjoyed it until the end. Their chemistry was really 🔥.
Rating 3 🌟 stars -
Oh my gawd......this book was an emotional roller coaster for me.
So Lee and Kyle are hopelessly INLOVE but they have a big old thorn in their side by the name of Rachel di bitch...they both have pure secrets more so Kyle and he is not willing to tell lee yet out of fear of losing her....God I could scream out of frustration.
It was frustrating as hell, I swear it's the first book I wanted to jump in and kill someone...I HATE Rachel that bitch needs to die.
The sexual tension was just leaking off the pages...
I pray in book 2 they get their shit together. And hopefully Rachel falls in a dish and die lool. Really great read. I read it in one day I couldn't put it down. -
This series will forever be my top favorite and I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never even written a review for it until now (sorry Chloe!), even though I’ve reread it at least 3 times and that doesn’t include the many times I have went back and skimmed through my favorite parts that I keep bookmarked.
But, in my defense, this was before I started writing reviews… so, there’s that.
And I’ve been after Charlotte to read this series for almost a year, so now that’s she finally started to read it, I couldn’t let her write a review for the blog without putting in a word or two myself.
I’ll make this review easy and list the reasons I love this series so damn much…
Reason #1: Kyle Carter
Reason #2: Kyle Carter
Reason #3: Kyle Carter
Reason #4: Nevermind.. I’m sure you can figure it out.
That man completely owns my heart, even if he is fictional, because a girl can dream… Am I right ladies? Even though he starts out as a bit of an ass and a cocky manwhore, he’s got a lot of heart in him. He’s fiercely protective over the ones he loves and once he’s in, he gives it his all.
Lee is innocent, a bit naive, the little damsel in distress, but she really starts to grow as a character in the later books.
There’s a lot of angst, drama, secrets and so many feels in this book, and the way that Chloe writes these characters, you can’t help but get wrapped up in them and want to stay buried in their fictional lives for days, or if you’re like me, years -- and I’m being completely serious here because I first read this book in 2014 and still think about it all the fucking time... and it's still held the #1 spot on my list of favorites. -
Did I seriously read the same story as everyone else..? I don’t understand why it has received so many 5 stars. The Hero is an asshole/manwhore. The heroine is a dumb doormat and is so freaking needy. Too much back and forth I had to push myself to finish the story just too find out why Rachel had such a hold on Kyle. Well finally found out and it’s so stupid.

This was a book that I should've stopped reading the first time I saw you're used in place of your. This book desperately needed an editor. I tried to look past it but there were just so many errors throughout. It actually distracted me from reading because I had to mentally correct the issues in order to understand the sentence. Words were duplicated and omitted everywhere I looked. As far as the story itself, it was ok but predictable. Actually it was quite idiotic at times. I'm glad the writer was kind enough to give us the full reveal in the prologue of book 2 because there was no way I would've purchased book 2 after reading through this story. I enjoyed most of the book, otherwise I wouldn't have finished it. But it was a difficult one to get through.

I understand that this is the author's debut novel and I respect that. Considering, I closed my eyes to the grammar mistakes that were noticeable I closed my eyes over the unclear motivation and less believable reasons that made the main characters act the way they did...
Truth to be told if I had picked this book first I would never have read the book that made me interested into this author's work (I am talking about
So I won't go further and ruin my good memories of that.... -
2 Stars.
What could I say? Lee aka the heroine is just dumb. And the author is confusing. I mean, what do you want from Lee? You described her as a shy girl but the reality? She was a needy virgin girl. And the main guy, was so unstable and a big chicken. I just can't...the characters were so poor defined. -

Decided to try this again and loved it. Still think Kyle is a dumbass though😤

Ugh... I can’t anymore. The heroine is terribly dumb.
This started off so well and then bam...idiot heroine and even dumber hero.
Big DNF @ 53% -
I'm knocking a start off because of the terrible editing of this book. It was just painful to read.
EDIT: And I just saw that the author updated the book and it now has better editing. Great. -
Whew... I really enjoyed this book. It's not the usual genre I would read, but it came with high recommendation and I wasn't disappointed.
The love triangle between Kyle, Rachel and Lee keeps you guessing right up until the very last page and I couldn't put the thing down until I finished it. Now I cant sit still until the next part comes out. Can't believe it was left on a cliff-hanger like that. #Evil
The book is set in a college style setting with hunky rich bad boy Kyle making move on innocent newcomer Lee.
I was so upset during some parts of this book that I cried. Some issues in the story with Lee's father are very upsetting but written so well that you feel her pain.
I'm here now thinking about what will happen in book two, and if Lee will ever have a happy ending.
Can't wait to find out. :) -
I'm a huge Chloe Walsh fan but this book was not for me. I had to stop at page 37. I love over the top, possessive alpha guys but this book was too much too fast! I'm afraid if my eyes role back one more time they are going to get stuck there forever. Sorry Chloe
-
Lots of angst in this book. I actually think Kyle is an asshat for almost the whole book and lee was a door mat. I am on to book two because there is some groveling to happen.

3.5 stars, i dnf at 66% in, i really really wanted to love it bc i loved binding 13 & keeping 13. but i just hate kyle. like he’s such. a. red. flag. whenever it was his pov i wanted to skip it bc the things he says about lee and just how he basically views her as an object. he literally repeated a million times how he “can’t control himself” and ur telling me he saw her in a dress and he literally GROPED her and he “didn’t realize” ur telling me he doesn’t know where his hand is going? what? and oh my god. don’t even get me started about when they slept together for the first time and when they were done he literally ignored her and was all “i warned you, blah blah blah i told you i’m bad for you blah blah” SHUT UP KYLE. he has enraged me. and the fact that the next morning he literally called her a tease??? and also the fact that he pretended/went along with it when lee was worried cam told him what happened to her on prom night just so he could find out what it was. and i didn’t like cam either, or derek. i hate derek too. derek and cam are just… i was so uncomfortable reading the movie theatre scene and when they were in the car WHEN KYLE AND LEE WERE RIGHT THERE?? i don’t even- speechless. anyway. this was a long rant, basically lee deserves better. i don’t know what rachel has over kyle and i don’t really care to find out.
-
Ugh, Kyle is the literal worst. Too much OW drama and angst, too much hot and cold, too much being a downright pussy. He let others treat Lee like literal shit all the time, but worst of all, he treated her like shit the most. I just…can’t even.
Something that triggered me here was the physical abuse. FMC punched the MMC in a fit of rage and then he manhandled her back - nope. No, thank you. I don’t care if you’re drunk and try to use that as an excuse. Immediate dislike of all characters involved. Again, I just can’t.
If I wasn’t reading this book on Kindle, I would’ve thrown it out the nearest window or set it on fire. My Saturday night has been ruined! Wish I could erase reading this nonsense from my brain. -
3.75⭐️ Read this because I loves the Boys of Tommen Series, but this series is completely different. This is one of Chloe Walsh’s first books and you can definitely tell, so the writing was a bit weird in this book. There was also a lot of drama in this book, but I think I still want to continue the series.
-
So much drama and twist and turns. So many weak moment and pulls all in different directions. This story is frustrating and sweet at the same time.

Not really my bag.

What a heartbreakingly beautiful story!
Break My Fall is about Lee who has escaped from her home in Montgomery and showed up at her best friend Cam's doorstep asking for a place to stay. She didn't realize that Cam lived with her boyfriend Derek, and his best friend Kyle. Things heat up the first time that Lee sees Kyle and their introduction is a little unorthodox.
The chemistry between Lee and Kyle is off the charts, but both of them are so hot and cold towards one another. Since this book is told in both Kyle and Lee's points of view we do get some insight into why each of them are the way they are. My heart hurts for what Lee has gone through in her life, and for what she goes through with Kyle. Kyle tries to do the right thing, but with the cards he has been dealt, he ends up screwing up and hurting the people he actually cares about.
Cam is definitely an amazing friend to Lee. Granted she pushes Lee outside of her comfort zone a lot, but ends up showing Lee all the things she's missed out on. I love the unconventional friendship that her and Cam have, and how Derek has become a good friend to her as well. Her best friend in the house is Kyle, but those lines get blurred a lot between the two of them.
There were parts during this book that I thought I had Kyle figured out and why he was with Rachel and let her do and say the things she did, but I never fully put everything together until Kyle explains it all towards the end of this book. Rachel is one character that I despise and I truly want nothing but bad things to come to her. The way she treated everyone in this book was horrific, yet she is the perfect villain. Ugh I hate her!
I loved the parts of this book where Kyle and Lee were happy, but the parts where they hated each other, were not speaking were hard. I wanted these two to have their happily ever after, and after this book ended, I'm not sure how things are going to go for these two.
Break My Fall is an angsty read that I was unable to put down. I can't wait to read more of Kyle and Lee's story and see if they get the HEA that the deserve. If you're looking for a hot, angsty read, definitely one click your copy of Break My Fall today!
