**I received a complementary copy in return for an honest review**

I have to start off by saying, Unsettled the 1st book in this series made me cry like no other, that was until I read this book. Thanks Alisa for that :)

I love Lizzie and her spunk she is stronger in this book. You can't help but feel for her. She's trying to move on, but the wrong way by not wanting to fall in love again. I get her point of view after what Teagan did to her (ass move btw). That is until she meets Nick.

Oh Nick he's just heaven sent. He's there for her though all her bad and good times. They become good friends, because that's what Lizzie wants. When tragedy strikes Lizzie shuts down and does what she knows to drink. Once again Nick is there to pick her up.

I could go on and I want to but I would give the whole book way. I highly recommend this book to every and anyone. This book keeps you wanting more. I can't wait until the next book comes out. I'm on edge to find out what's going to happen to Nick and Lizzie.

Great job Alisa keep up the awesome work and thank you for Nick! <3

I'm a beta reader. This was such an excellent read; I read it in a day. The character development of Lizzie has really been explored--she's still spunky and unpredictable, but you really feel her inner growth and are rooting for her the whole book. Nick is a great character, I have fun imagining his Southern drawl and tight ass. Can't wait to see how all the drama unfolds with the next book; I already have anxiety about one character who better not ruin it all!

This is one of those times in a review, where I am not sure if I want to blubber and cry my eyes out over my computer, Oooooooooor... Throw the damn thing across the room and stomp around while I pout! My mind is all over the place with this one.

Okay, so Lizzie's life continues after Teagan, Post-T. (And bytheway, if Teagan and Nick had some kind of hot-character-book-off, Nick would wipe the floor with your face!) Anyway, Lizzie has turned her life around, becoming everything she would have hoped for. All while taking care of her sweet baby, the biggest reason to keep motivated in her success.

And like most mom's, Lizzie's post prego body is not a confidence builder for her. Which is why when she meets Nick, a nice, attractive God, or I mean man, who seems taken by her, flusters her so much. Or was it the electric pull she seems to experience when he was around. But of course she doesn't think that he would be interested. Because, why would a smart, sexy guy want someone with a baby and extra poundage to go along with it. Instead, she works on the safe route, just friends. Lizzie doesn't want to be in love, or in a relationship for that matter. This was safe. Or so she thought...

Nick and Lizzie's adventure will have you turning the pages for more. I couldn't put the thing down. Except for those few times! Grrr... Tear. After reading both books, I also have to say I loved the title choices for the series. Unchosen. Fits perfectly.

I would recommend this book to everyone. You don't have to like romances to love this book. The characters are so down to earth, they become your own friends. And Lizzie is such a smart-ass, sarcastic person that you cant help but love her. This story will capture you and drag you in causing you to gasp for air. A one sit read.

Omigah after so many books I've read for the past few weeks, I finally found a 5 stars!!

I picked this book without knowing anything. I just recently found out it's effing book two in the series. With all the crap I've been reading lately, I was like- to hell with it, I'ma go ahead and just read book 2 and maybe it will help me feel sleepy.. but let me tell you, there was no sleeping happened!!

I laughed in the middle of the night, cried my eyes out around 4 fuckin AM and finished it with a swollen fuckin eyes! I skipped book 1 but that did not deter me from devouring Unchosen! The story felt so real and flow so natural. Lizzie is funny but she has some issues. It pissed the hell out of me with all the "I can't love you.. yada yada!" grr.. but I have to admit Nick stole my heart in this book!! Can I have Nick in my life? Coz seriously, he was amazing!

I'm off to read book 3 which I believe is going to be Nick Pov yeah? I'm so stoked!!!

I was excited for the book from the moment I finished the first book in the series 'Unsettled.' My excitement was short lived in some respects. The excerpt given to the reader for 'Unchosen' in the first book is a far different beginning than what is given to the reader in this book. The teaser actually made it hard for me to understand the characters timeline in this novel. Looking beyond the very confusing/misleading timeline, I loved the character relationships in this book! The story line itself is very enjoyable to read and I would continue to recommend this series to any person who enjoys angst novels.

Another good read but it just didn't hit the high the first book gave me. I loved Unsettled and couldn't wait to see where the story of Lizzie and Teagan was going to lead. Sadly there was no sign of Teagan and it left a gaping hole for me.

After piecing her life together as best she could, Lizzie meets Nick and become friends, they both want more but don't cross the line till Lizzie does something stupid and realises she wanted Nick all along. It's a decent story and the next book looks a good one with what looks like a love triangle but I do wish Teagan had played a part hence 3*

Just an added note: the sexy bits are tame

I am a beta reader and could not wait to get my hands on this book. It is such a great follow up to Unsettled. I loved seeing how Lizzie has grown and the new path her life is on, only to be turned upside down when she meets beautiful, dreamy Nick. I fell in love with Nick instantly and you will too, especially after he helps Lizzie through the darkest time in her life. I am so excited and anxious for the next book to come out--I cannot wait to see how this all turns out for Lizzie.

  • Tracey Parker

Alisa does an amazing job by bringing you even deeper emotionally with Lizzie. We also get to meet Nick in this book. So much happens... don't want t spoil anyone, but by then end you have been put through all emotions again. Lizzie does a lot of growing up in this book. This is another must read but you have to read Unsettled first. Just an amazing job by Alisa Mullen!

the second book in the series. Not as hard hitting in many ways as the first, but still a good read filled with characters you care about. As any good second book does, it made me want to read the third right away.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of my heart breaking and my chest heaving from all the ugly crying... Argh! I was seriously afraid, when I was about 80% of the way through this book, that I was going to run out of tissues and I CAN'T TELL YOU WHY EXCEPT TO SAY OH MY GOD!! Phew, sorry for yelling y'all. I won't do that again. I can, and will, compose myself... Unchosen by Alisa Mullen is the second book in the Chosen series - and it's a series which, if I had my way, would never, ever come to an end. Did that sound a little Kathy Bates-esque? Sorry but it's true. I loved book one, Unsettled, even if it left me feeling a little....well, unsettled. And Unchosen raised the bar. I cannot wait for Unrequited...

Lizzie O'Malley's life has changed since the hot summer she shared with Irishman Teagan Gallagher. Still not quite at peace with the devastating revelation that removed Teagan from her life, Lizzie is nonetheless moving forward. She has a successful career, a loving and supportive family and very little time for herself. She's not looking for a relationship - she's never going to fall in love again - so when she meets gorgeous Texan Nick Sawyer, it seems that she's found herself a new best friend instead. Nick wants more from Lizzie but, despite her attraction to him, she's determined to keep it platonic. That's easier said than done when his relationships and her past start to come between them and jealously threatens what was once a perfect friendship. Then a trip to Ireland ends with a heart-breaking phone call and suddenly friends-only doesn't seem like enough for Lizzie and Nick anymore...

I've thought about this book non-stop since I finished reading it. It's wormed its way into my brain and it won't leave. I want to tell you why I was left feeling a mixture of elation and sadness but unless I let loose a massive spoiler, I can't. What I can tell you is that if you sit down to read this book, you will be rewarded with a beautiful, flowing, heart-breaking and life-affirming story. It's not all flowers and hearts and roses but it can - and will - make you laugh and smile, cry and frown. It's easily one of the best books I've read this year - maybe even one of the best ever. So...Nick Sawyer, what can I say about him? He's practically perfect. He loves our Lizzie without forcing anything on her. He helps her when she needs him, drops everything to hold her as she breaks down and does it all while recognizing that she's also perfect - for him - just the way she is. But he still calls her on her bullshit. Yes! I'm so glad that he didn't just let her get away with being selfish and confusing. Lizzie is a puzzling mixture of exactly the same and completely different from the girl she was in Unsettled. In her lighter moments, she's the carefree, fun-loving girl she was before Teagan but it's when the going gets tough that you see a new maturity in her. Alisa Mullen did a wonderful job of giving her character growth without losing the spirit of who she is. I have often found in the past that (unfortunately) sequels don't measure up to their predecessors but in the case of Unchosen, it has surpassed Unsettled - which is no easy feat. I could probably gush about this book for a while longer but I won't. I'll simply encourage you to one-click it and see for yourself why I. Can't. Stop. Thinking. About. It.... Just make sure you bulk-buy the Kleenex first.

This is the second book in the Chosen series. It is not a standalone book. There's no real cliffhanger but it does tease book three, Unrequited.

  • Heather Clark

Summery - We join currently prego Lizzie O'Mally and her struggle with dealing with a broken heart, Managing a job, and a new baby. Lizzie hasn't had it easy and she's made sacrifices. Without her family I am sure it would be much harder on her.

Rating - 4/5 stars. The first book was amaze-balls. The second one, does not disappoint. Im really hard on the books I read. I either love them or hate them. I certainly don't hate this one.

    Genre - New Adult.

Language - Yes, this author likes to swear. Its good for the soul.

About this book - Lizzie is coming to terms to growing up, and a pregnancy will make anyone grow up fast.
Lizzie goes on this journey to find herself, and tries to find a way to deal with her broken heart. As a woman, I know the only way to deal with a broken heart is time, plain and simple.

Its an act of letting go, and then dealing with even that part. Who hasn't gone through that. Growing up is like being water, and water is flexible. What water doesn't have is emotions; and emotions run deep.

I can't say enough how this book really hits the human emotions pretty hard. Alisa really nails it on the head, every time.

Life is messy, and Lizzie is doing the best she can, she will undoubtedly fall down and make stupid mistakes, but she is grown up enough to deal with it.

When she meets Nick, she's slammed with instant attraction but can't really quite bring herself to act on it. Understandable after all she has been through. Guys are total dunceheads sometimes.

Nick is patient, he's the kind of guy that's borne right out of Texas. Get's the door's. Pays for meals and thank god he doesn't strut around in cowboy boots. He isn't to obnoxious which is saying ALOT.

One thing that I am glad for is that Lizzie doesn't run into Teagan while she is on her quest to letting him go. That would just suck! in far more ways than one. I couldn't really see how that would play out with her son Niall.

Everyone knows I am not big into spoilers. Im seriously not, but with Lizzie keeping Nick in the friend zone. It drives me nuts, because Lizzie litteraly needs to be smacked in the face at some point. When everyone is telling her. "That guy is crazy about you."

So lets fastfoward over it the details. Spoiler, spoiler spoiler DRAMA!

Really I thought this book was going to end with the Happily Ever After. Other wise known as the HEA. Things are great for Lizzie and Nick. Like the sappy, lets decorate the house and hope the russian mafia doesn't come and get you kind.

The twist at the end made me eyeroll for a moment, but I really want to know what happens next. If SPOILER, does SPOILER and gets SPOILER and I hope SPOILER!

Sorry guys. I can't give those details away. Its not in my game plan. You'll just have to read it.

I laughed with Lizzie, I cried with Lizzie and I wanted to shake her for being so stupid. In the end I completely understand why she did what she did.

Now the big question.Would I let my grandma read this series. YES! Absolutely! I'd recommend it to my mom. If only to hand her tissues when she cries and comfort her with "I know honey. Lets bust out the truffles and you can tell me all about it."

In all seriousness. This book series slams home on so many levels. Not many authors writes about how it really is in relationships. Most glam it up with impossible scenario's. All I want to see, is Lizzie happy with herself and with her life.

his is book 2 in the Chosen Series and well after the first one I was going mad needing to know what was going to happen. I was not disappointed.

Lizzie is doing her best being a single mother, with her families help she is able to work at a very great job and she moved into her own place. She is making all the right steps to make a good life for her and her son, but she is lonely even with her family and her best friend which just happens to be her brother she still feels some what alone in the world.

She meets Nick in a little cafe during lunch break at work. He is hot hot HOT! Her and Nick start to have a friendship after some hilarious emails. Lizzie and Nicks relationship is weird they are best friends hang out all the time but both are attracted to each other but fight it because Lizzie will never let herself love anyone again. I get it she was hurt beyond belief but that didn't stop me from wanting to jump in the book and shake some common sense into her!! I mean come on SEX ON A STICK NICK is right there in front of you and he loves your son and family and has stood by you I mean get off the crazy train and take what is right in front of you!! lol Anyways sorry I had a moment there :-) I loved this book I dont want to give tooooo much away but this is one of those books that make you happy, crazy mad, keeps you laughing and then out of no where you are balling like a baby. Yes you heard me a baby!! I felt like I got emotional whip lash and loved every second of it.

It does end in a cliffhanger which sucks but its ok because I am excited for the next one!

Oh one last thing, Samantha! After you read the book you will understand but I think I might just want to murder her in the next book -_- but I guess we will just have to see how it all plays out.

Thank you Alisa Mullen for such a great read! I cant wait to see what you do in book 3!!

Wow okay. So Unchosen, the second in this series, picks up close to where the first book ended. Lizzie has her son and has an amazing job as a financial broker (yeah that I don't buy that so much, but eh whatever). She is eating lunch one day and meets Nick. Beautiful, sweet Nick. Lizzie has told herself she will never fall in love again. After horrible Teagan she just can't do it again. She has her son and her job and her family and that is enough.

When Nick joins her for lunch they are kind of awkward at times, but you can see he is interested. They start hanging out as friends, but you can tell they both want more. Lizzie is too afraid to give more, she hasn't really dealt with Teagan leaving even though it has been over a year since he left, and so she is not ready for a new relationship. Nick and Lizzie were rocky at times, but he was always there for her. When heartbreaking things happen late in the book Nick is there for her. Man they were so sweet together. I did a little cheer when they finally, finally got together.

Yes there is some drama and at one point I was like really? Again? But at least it was better this time. The epilogue sets up the next book, from Sam's point of view, but really I just hope it doesn't work. I know Lizzie is the weak link in this relationship. When she finds out who Nick is and where he comes from she is not very happy as she doesn't think she fits into his lifestyle. It is obvious that he doesn't care and just wants to be with her so hopefully his love for her will stop there from being lots of drama rama. We shall see. Even if it is full of drama I know they can work it out. I mean they are meant to be! They have to be together forever. Alright, off to read book three!

Alisa Mullen has done it again!!!

Unchosen is book #2 of the series and was even better than the first! I can’t even begin to describe how heartbroken I was for Lizzie after finding out what a shite Teagan was in Unsettled. It took everything within me not to yell at my tablet at 3 am…yes I have lost a lot of sleep reading this series because I can’t seem to put it down!

Struggling with Teagan’s betrayal and abandonment Lizzie pushes herself to succeed for her son. With her family supporting her in any way they can she does an amazing job of getting on her own two feet and making something of herself. Convinced she will never love again because she couldn't bear being hurt again she closes her heart off to any man…until she meets Nick.
Nick…oh what to say about him. From their first meeting I loved him. Loved how he treated her…so sweet! Successful and attractive he seems to have it all and Lizzie finds herself immediately attracted to him but refuses to go down that old road again. Together, Nick and Lizzie find an amazing friendship combined with a mutual attraction they try to fight. Will a surprise from Lizzie’s past and tragedy be enough to make them both realize they belong together and that wasting the precious time they have together is not worth it?
This story was even more of a roller coaster ride than the first! It takes a lot to make me cry in a book…but I will completely admit this one had me balling like a baby! I love this series and cannot say enough good things about it so go and grab it now!!!

This one lost a little something for me. I would still rate it a 3.5 Star read but something was missing from book 1 to book 2. I think Lizzy became a little less likeable in this one. I can't quite put my finger on it. May be it was the lack of Teagan that dropped this down a half star for me. Regardless it was still good and I would still recommend it.

This read starts off where Unsettled left off. Lizzy is trying to move forward after Teagan and begins her life as a single mother. Lizzy's family relationships were very strained in book 1. This book the relationships heal and Lizzy relies heavily on her parents and brother for support. Working full time and being a mom has it's strains and a chance meeting during a lunch hour brings Nick into Lizzy's life. Lizzy and Nick become very close friends and he quickly becomes someone she needs in her life. There always seems to be something holding Lizzy back from moving forward with Nick. Her inability to let go of a relationship that was never really more than a fling being the main problem. Lizzy decides to move forward she needs to face the past and heads to Ireland with baby Niall. This is where it kind of loses me. The visit to Ireland does not pan out how I expected and tragedy draws Lizzy right back home. With emotions high Lizzy needs Nick more than ever. As things wrap in book 2 it's looking like all is well but the dreaded Epilogue cliffy strikes again.

I will for sure be reading book 3.

Awesome! Alisa Mullen does a wonderful job with Unchosen. Unchosen is book 2 in

the chosen series. It is my opinion that this book cannot be read alone. Without reading

the first book, the reader cannot understand where, why, or how the main female

character got to where she is. Read them both, it is worth it!!

Lizzie O'Malley finds herself pregnant and without the baby's father. After almost

aborting her baby, Lizzie has decided to give it all she has got for her child. She

becomes a successful business woman on Wall Street. She has mended bridges with

her family. Lizzie appears to be doing great. However, she has buried her pain of losing

the baby's daddy. She is lonely but refuses to open up, until Nick Sawyer comes into her

    life.

Nick is only a friend. He is hiding his pain of losing his long time best friend. Nick

dates women for only a few times, then he move on. Nick likes Lizzie from the beginning

but holds off due to Lizzie not opening up. It takes a tragedy to happen to Lizzie to make

her see what she could already be too late for.

Unchosen is a great continuation of Lizzie's story. This was a great read of heart

break, finding love, being a single mom, importance of family, selfishness, and mistakes.

I would recommend this book, and I cannot wait for the third book to come out!!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Lizzie is back - warts and all. She's trying to make something of her life, to be more than just a single mother. A chance meeting at a lunch counter leads to an impromptu lunch date with Nick, a IT guru. For the first time since Teagan, Lizzie is noticing a man. Nick is nice looking - ok HAWT - and she takes a chance and emails him.

Becoming friends, Lizzie and Nick get to know each other, eventually meeting each other's friends and her family. Lizzie knows she's not ready for more, but can't help but feeling that Nick could be the one.

In an effort to let go of the past, Lizzie and her parents take a trip to Ireland, where Lizzie lets go of the past. Tragedy strikes while they are there and her whole world is once again shattered.

Nick tries to help Lizzie pick up the pieces but she's unwilling to let anyone get close to her.

I really liked this book and can't wait til the next book in the series.

    REVIEW
Teagan has gone back to Ireland . When Lizzie last seen Teagan she was at the abortion clinic. Lizzie has done so much good with her life.
She works as a financial advisor and one day while out for lunch she meets a very sexy man with a southern drawl.
Nick has brought out feelings Lizzie did not want to have ever again. But when she finally decides maybe just maybe on the dating thing she finds out Nick has a girlfriend.
She has a great job and has a place of her own for her and her little boy.

Well things change and Nick and Lizzie become friends. Then all kinds of things happen. Lizzie and her parents take a trip to Ireland but in the end it was all about finding what? Well I am not telling you just read the story.
Nick and Lizzie become so close then Freddie shows up in Boston. What will happen now?
Will Lizzie get a happily ever after?

Fantastic story I enjoyed this one very much and would recommend it.

This is the continuation of the story of Lizzie O'Malley. She is now a financial advisor in Boston working hard to provide for her and her baby, Niall. She meets Nick a self proclaimed 'IT' geek from Texas one day on her lunch break. They become friends as Lizzie is refusing to let her heart be broken ever since Teagan left to go back to Ireland. Connor, her brother is an up and coming rock star with his band and is her best friend. Freddie visits from Ireland and Lizzie is forced to make some big choices. The plot continues to thicken as Nick and Lizzie's friendship grows and they realize there might be more. Then a tragedy occurs and Lizzie is thrown for a loop. This story is an emotional and entrancing adventure. You will laugh and cry and go from happy to angry in just pages. I love that this book makes me feel so many things at once. The author goes to great lengths to keep this story real and enchanting at the same time. You will feel as though you are there with Lizzie in Boston and Ireland. You will feel as though you are at the Phish Concert. I truly recommend the whole series to anyone and everyone.

much much better i love this part of lizzies story

This book was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest review with thanks to Stephanie's book reports
well i love being wrong about a book and i was wrong about this one in my mind i had it mapped out as it was going to be dry lacking something like the first but that was so not the case, it was sassy and sexy and romantic and i freaking loved it and i'm now excited for book 3, i must admit i am a little sad that when she went to Ireland there was no show of the accent in the book except to say it was different and out of all of Ireland next to Dublin cork prob has the strongest so i was a little miffed that on home turf there wasn't even a cork boi comment thrown in the mix lol but i guess that's the Irish in me but i think perhaps that's what the books lacked but all in all this was a much better one well done alisa great read ya lost me on the first one but pulled me back with this bring on the next, 5 stars hopeless romantics this is for you <3

I am honored to be part of Alisa's Street Team and was blessed with receiving an early edition of this book. Contains Spoilers!

Let me start off by saying this series is HIGHLY emotional; be ready for laughter, tears, ups and downs, highs and lows and everything in between. I have not been so anxious for an anticipated series of books since I read the first Twilight book and discovered there would be 3 more. Well there will be one more book to this series after this second one and I can not wait to see how it all ends. This is the journey of Lizzie trying to find her way after heartbreak and serious life changes. This is one tough chick determined to make it and to the best of her abilities do it right. She finds a great friend in Nick and is determined not to fall but we don't choose who or when love happens. Will nick be the one to go the distance? I don't know but I will definitely be there to find out.

  • J.L.

This book also had its emotional moments. The story was really about a young woman growing up. She is healing from a broken heart that was pulled out and trampled on by a lying no go for nothing Irish dude (asshat Teagan). In this story Lizzie meets a new man Nick. Nick is a sexy guy who seems to roam from one girl to another. But in reality you can see that he really cares about Lizzie and Niall. Lizzie has repaired her relationship with her family. She spends a lot of time with her brother Conner and her mom and dad are helping her take care of Niall. She is actually at a place where she wants to try love again and goes to Ireland to let Teagan go but all hell breaks lose. Her heart is broken all over but for a different reason. But Nick comes and helps her pick up the pieces. It looks like they are going to have a HEA until Samantha Hughes steps into the picture and breaks out more chaos. Lizzie deserves a break I hope she gets it in book 3.
