Ready or not, the game has begun.
Genevieve Grimm has felt adrift ever since her sister became the head of the family. So when a mysterious friend of their mother's invites her to Italy, she accepts. She arrives at his grand palace, expecting passion and magic, decadence and luxury... perhaps even a midnight ball.
She doesn't expect the owner's ruthlessly handsome son to slam the door in her face. Rowin Silver is tall, dark, and exceptionally rude, and invitation or not, he demands Genevieve leave and never come back. But Genevieve follows nobody's orders, especially those of arrogant rich boys. She slips inside—and immediately discovers her mistake.
Rowin and his family are caught in an insidious game of hide and seek, where only one can win. The rest will be trapped in Hell... until the competition begins again.
Genevieve must either join the hunt or forfeit any hope of escaping. But to her dismay, her best chance of survival lies with Rowin. Since lovers may play as a pair, Rowin and Genevieve agree to form an alliance under the guise of a fake courtship. However, as they race through the game's elaborate labyrinth, trapped among gleaming gold and shining marble, their loathing gives way to irresistible attraction. Only Rowin is keeping secrets, especially when it comes to his ruthless family, and Genevieve can't help but wonder if she's trapped in two treacherous games: Enchantra and the one Rowin is playing with her heart.
Enchantra (Wicked Games, #2) Reviews
-
Okay I absolutely DEVOURED THIS!!! I’m genuinely so sad it’s over!! It was so different from Phantasma but also had similarities that gave me the same feelings!! I still think I liked Phantasma a little bit more for sure but this did not disappoint in the slightest! Such an easy, fun and unique romantasy I cannot WAIT FOR BOOK THREE!!!!
I’m obsessed with the world and different settings Kaylie Smith creates in this series. It’s so atmospheric and immersive I feel like I’m watching everything through these characters eyes! I mean a deadly game of hide and seek in an enchanted mansion?!!!!! Yup I’m in. Oh and her partner is the deadly shadow wraith she’s fake married to? Yeah. No. I’m so sat.
Don’t even get me started on Rowin…. His attitude and banter and sarcasm gave me life. And then his shadows… folded. Done. Dead. I was also obsessed with Genevieve, she was so strong in her own way and did not let anyone walk all over her, her confidence and force of will were everything! And the dynamic between her and Rowin had me giggling the whole time!
I was also so obsessed with each and every side character, I want to be a part of the silver family please. I NEED A BOOK FOR EACH SIBLING NOW!!!!! Kaylie managed to get me so emotionally invested in such a short time I need more!!!!
Like with phantasma the ending was definitely rushed, I felt like with 100 more pages this could have been perfect but otherwise I loved it!
Ahhhh so much to love in this!!
- fake marriage
- A shadow wraith MMC with a filthy mouth
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Scrumptious banter
- Deadly games
- Set in an enchanted mansion
- Found family -
This was so FUN!! I had no idea how this would move away from Phantasma but still keep the same energy but this was done perfectly.
A spring equinox setting in Italy with a broody shadow MMC and a back talking, centre of attention FMC who asks 101 questions about everything (I love them). The games in this book were a fun shake up (think I preferred them to Phantasma) and the introduction to the new found family/actual family side characters really opens up the world and has me so excited for the next book in the series/world.
More interconnected standalone fantasies please, this was everything 💜 The perfect binge read! -
God. I wanted to like this one so bad. I was curious about the sister and ugh she annoyed me so much. Full review shortly.
Omg I feel so bad lmao. This book got pushed from rotation all last week due to my chaotic schedule with moving. I’m not settled, but the toughest challenge is behind me now. Starting this one for real this time in the morning! 🤸🏻♀️
*Clears throat*... why no, I wasn't the biggest fan of book 1 but I'm curious about Genevieve. Maybe I'll appreciate her more than Ophelia and Blackwell.

If you know me, you know I’ve got low to no tolerance for supposedly strong FMCs who keep constantly and consistently being saved by men or some random convenient plot twist.
So let me just say that Genevieve Grimm as Enchantra’s FMC is the anti-damsel I needed. She isn’t some overpowered “chosen one,” nor does she spend the book waiting for a man to save her, although if a hot shadow man offers to detangle her hair, well, I'm sure she'd let them. She’s got female friendships, personality, curves, confidence, a stubborn streak, a messed up backstory, likes a party and feels like someone I’d grab a coffee/beverage with. Kaylie Smith understood the assignment.
Firstly, the setting is Tuscany, on a sprawling estate with secret passages and giant hedge mazes and Vivi (Genevieve) has somehow found herself trapped in a deadly game of hide and seek with a cursed family who star in some type of reality TV show for a demonic audience. Not exactly a relaxing vacation.
Vivi’s only shot at survival is a marriage of convenience to an Azriel-coded, enigmatic shadow wraith immortal named Rowin Silver. There are corvids (obligatory bird lady appreciation), masquerades, ball gowns, piranhas, secret rooms, animal companion-familiars, the whole touch her and die and fake dating thing, a splash of grumpy-shadow vs. sunshine, plus zippy banter.
Furthermore, the Silver family is peak dysfunction. It’s that special kind of found family dynamic where your in-laws might actually kill you and each other (bonding through murder, love that for them). The sibling relationships were nuanced. Ellin and Sevin were particularly well-developed. That said, I wanted more on Barrington Silver and Tessie Grimm’s backstories, and more insight into the rift between identical shadow-wraith twins, Remi and Rowin.
Nonetheless, I perceived Enchantra to be a lot more romantic than its predecessor. Genevieve and Rowin communicate. Secrets unravel, vulnerabilities crack open. It simmers before it boils, and when it does, the romance feels earned.
Now, the rating dilemma. My heart wants to throw 5 stars at this, because I thought the ending was twisty, heart melting, loved it. But my critic wants to hold it back at 4, due to a few minor nitpicks (an overused nickname and stylistic use of italics—just a personal preference). So, let’s call it 4.5. I loved this more than Phantasma so if you liked that, there is a good chance you’ll like Enchantra too.
A huge thanks to Second Sky/Forever and NetGalley for the invitation to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review. So much fun!
TL;DR:
☠️ Found family but make it murderous
☠️ Marriage of convenience-fake dating but with actual stakes
☠️ Masquerades, ball gowns, and piranhas
☠️ Touch her and die
☠️ Shadows vs sunshine
☠️ Cute animal companions
☠️ Shadow appendage 🍆 (I won't elaborate, but lol iykyk)
☠️ More romantic than Phantasma
☠️ Curvy FMC representation

After
Phantasma, can Kaylie Smith deliver another romantasy banger?
I'm calling yes, because fake dating a shadow daddy on a sprawling Italian estate with a giant hedge maze, deadly games and cursed families sounds pretty dope. -
UMMM SHADOW DADDY?!? Yes yes yes 👁️👄👁️
-
so if the c*ck hits places she didn't realize it could reach... what are we thinking he's hitting? internal organs? tickle spot? uvula?

“I’m a creature of Hell, worshipping is not usually in my nature. But for whatever time you remain in my bed, I will make it your shrine.”
Kaylie Smith is making us swoon over demons once again, you guys! Enchantra, compared to Phantasma, definitely had a slower burn and wasn’t as gothic. But it was still so fun! The hunt was interesting and I’m HERE for the side characters. I do wish it was a bit more gothic, but then again, we don’t want a copy and paste of Phantasma. I’m looking forward to seeing who book 3 is about! -

⤷ “Shadows can only be seen in the presence of light. I worry when you leave, there will be no one left to see me.”
When I heard about this book releasing, I did not think that it could match the energy of Phantasma, but here we are. My oh MY am I addicted to this world! Our poor Genevieve was stuck to marry a stranger and then forced to play a cursed and deadly game of hide and seek alongside him and his siblings.
Enchantra had the same deadly and addictive qualities as Phantasma but was unique enough to feel like its own story. The stakes were high. I felt for several of the siblings and the never ending game they were in. The fact that it all unfolds like a gameshow for viewers where they watch through mirrors was so fun!
Geneieve is fierce, courageous and didn't take shit from nobody. Rowin is your typical morally grey, arrogant shadow daddy- why does this never get old btw? Their tension and banter was perfect and Rowins little fox Umbra omggg so cute especially when it got attached to Vivi
I am super invested in this world and am so excited that there was set up for another book. I need answers on who it will be about right NEEEOOOWWW -

𓍢⊹ ࣪
“Think of it as playing a character. Inside the walls of Enchantra you’re no longer Genevieve Grimm. You’re my wife.”
the entirety of enchantra was such a cool concept!!!! the marriage of convenience on top of that? CHEFS KISS!!!! and where there is marriage on convenience, there is close proximity!!!! the take on everything was so much fun!!
“You both really think I’m going to agree to get married to a stranger?”
“I’m sure you could do worse,”
“Even if I lowered my standards to the depths of Hell, I doubt you’d be able to reach them.”
THE BANTER WAS TOP TEIRRRRR!!!! rowin and vivi literally had me laughing my ass off and giggling every time they went at it
“Do you? Have a favorite game I should know about?”
“I’ve really enjoyed the one where I ask you to do something, and you simply refuse to fucking do it.”
“What a coincidence, I love that game, too,”
𓍢⊹ ࣪
“She had a Devil’s game to play. And this time, she wouldn’t be leaving until she won.”
➺ genevieve - vivi was so fun to read about!!!! i’m so glad we got her story and see her shine! she’s stubborn and not afraid to say whatever the hell she wants and do what she wants!!! i loved reading about her
“It’s never easy to realize that the people who are supposed to protect us are the ones who can create the deepest scars.”
our girl has had a rough past, and in enchantra we learn more about it; seeing her growth throughout the book was truly amazing and i feel like she will touch many readers hearts <3
“She’s mine. Whatever you might think of that, whatever problem you have with it, if you ever try to touch her again, I will make the rest of your eternal life even more fucking miserable than it already is.”
➺ rowin - OH THIS MANNNN. tattoos, shadow powers, HOT LIP PIERCING… oh and piercings quite literally everywhere… EEEEEEEE i love rowin!!!! he was so fun to read about and had me giggling the entire time i was reading this!!!
“He had been writing them letters for the last fifteen years.”
on the outside, rowin is tortured and seemingly uncaring, but he is such a caring character that would do anything for his siblings!! i loved reading about their sibling relationship
“It had been less than four days, and yet he was the first person other than her sister to ever show up for her when she needed him to. Every single time. He was the first person other than her sister that she wanted to save as well.”
ROWIN SHOWED UP FOR VIVI TIME AFTER TIMEEEE!!!! he continuously noticed things about her, paid close attention. i loved their relationship/dynamic so much!!
“The light isn’t something you need to chase, Genevieve. The light is wherever you are,”
i loved the way he constantly supposed her, listened to her, and was just THERE for her. they understood each other so perfectly and fit so well together!!!
“What is it you need from me? Tell me and it’s done.”
rowin was the definition of touch her and you die!!! he was so protective of genevieve; every time he said the words “my wife” i’d start cheesing… I LOVED THE GENTLE MOMENTS TOO!!! especially when he’d pick her up into his arms and carry her WHCIH KEPT HAPPENING it was too cute!!! and detangling her hair for her because it had her panicking was so sweet and kind!!
“You barely even know me Rowin. He offered you eternal freedom and—”
“Nothing is eternal. Except for the fact that you’ve ruined me. All I’ve ever wanted was freedom from this wretched game, and I didn’t even hesitate for a second to give it up.”
“Fifteen years I’ve lived for everyone else around me. I’ve withered away in this damned place. Until you showed up and you made me laugh. You gave me hope.”
“Shadows can only be seen in the presence of light. I worry when you leave, there will be no one left to see me.”
“Before you, I was going to spend my eternity alone, in the darkest parts of Hell. I’d much rather spend a single lifetime in your light. Or, at least, for however long you’ll have me. I want you to know, I really would have waited for you, right here, forever if that’s what it would have taken. I would have stood in this spot until I could no longer distinguish my own soul from the shadows. Until your light came back to me.”
oh nothing, just them and their love for each other <3
i’m beyond excited to see where these books will go!!!! i’m thinking sevin will have his own book with this mysterious ex he’s pining over… and i caught a certain someone from book one making an appearance at the end… and he’s certainly not done just yet… IM SO EXCITED!!!!

Shadow daddy. Murder games. Fake marriage
Let’s gooooooo!!!
THIS BOOK WAS A BLAST AND A HALF!!!!
Spicy shadow games in a cursed Italian estate? A broody immortal who fake marries our FMC to SURVIVE A DEMONIC GAME SHOW?! Yeah. Yeah. I inhaled it like cursed air in a gothic palace—laughing, screaming, and 100% possessed.
Genevieve “Vivi” Grimm = ICONIC.
She’s stubborn, loud, curvy, clever, chaos in heels—and she doesn’t wait around to be saved. She’s too busy OUTWITTING IMMORTAL SIBLINGS and SERVING LOOKS. This is the kind of FMC I live for—fiery, vulnerable, and ready to slap a devil across the face if needed.
Rowin Silver = SHADOW DADDY ENERGY UNLOCKED.
Silent. Deadly. Lip piercing. Tatted. Secretly soft?? The man detangles her hair and then murders for her?? I squealed.
Also?? Every time he says “my wife” I MELTED into my carpet. Like??? Help???
THE VIBES???
Masquerade balls. Hedge mazes.
Magical aphrodisiacs (IYKYK). Corvids.
SECRET PASSAGES.
Fake dating + marriage of convenience + enemies to lovers + found (murdery) family = MY ENTIRE PERSONALITY NOW.
THE BANTER?? THE CHEMISTRY?? THE SLOW BURN???
Top tier. Sharp, flirty, snappy—Rowin and Vivi’s dynamic had me giggling and then screaming and then throwing the book across the room from FEELS.
ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE SILVER SIBLINGS?
Hot mess express. Murderous. Petty. Dramatic. I NEED Sevin’s book. Ellin? Icon. Remi?? GIVE ME MORE!!!
Dysfunction never looked so good.
BUT THE ROMANCE??? OH MY GOD. They see each other. They choose each other. The vulnerability??? The softness??? I WAS UNWELL. I sobbed. I cheered. I swooned. 10/10—they have me in a shadowy, unbreakable chokehold.
THANK YOU, KAYLIE SMITH, FOR THIS SHADOW-FILLED GOTHIC ROMANCE ROLLERCOASTER.
I’m obsessed. Fully. Absolutely cannot wait for more in this world. GIVE ME ALL THE MURDER GAMES AND IMMORTAL DRAMA PLZ.
Tropes & Chaos Checklist:
☠️ Murderous found family
💍 Marriage of convenience... with actual STAKES
🖤 Touch her and die energy (YUM)
✨ Shadow MMC meets sunshine FMC
🎭 Masquerades, secret passages, and hedge mazes
🗣 Shadow appendage... 🍆
💃 Curvy FMC being THAT GIRL
⏳ Deadly magical game hosted by literal demons
💘 A romance that SIMMERS and then BOILS OVER
Final words: Read it. Scream about it. Swoon for Rowin.
I’m not saying I’d get fake married in a cursed palace to survive a supernatural reality show—but like... maybe I would.
Manifesting Sevin’s book and rereading every Rowin scene!! -

Release Day!!✨
“Our vows may have said ‘eternally,’ but as I told you then, nothing is ever truly eternal. Except my longing for you.” ❤️🔥✨
This book devoured me. 🖤🔥 Following Genevieve (Ophelia’s sister from Phantasma), Enchantra took everything I loved about the first book and made it even better. The hunt in this book? Way more intense than the trials in Phantasma. The stakes are high—like love high. ❤️🔥 And the fact that the people of Hell are watching everything unfold through those eerie looking-glass mirrors? Obsessed. 👀
The Labyrinth vibes? Love, love, LOVE. 🌀✨ The environment is constantly shifting, keeping you on edge the whole time. It also gives Hunger Games energy with its brutal survival aspect and Ready or Not (deadly hide and seek) intensity. 7 deadly games—and everything is on the line. 😵💫🔥
Genevieve started off insufferable to me, but I grew to love her. She’s stubborn, strong, and her arc?? Chef’s kiss. ✨ Also, hello, curvy heroine representation—we love to see it! 🙌🏾💖 And Rowin? That guy. 🔥 A shadow-wielding MMC who’s 1 of 7 cursed siblings? Sign me up. Their fake relationship turned very real, and the tension was TENSIONING. 😮💨🔥 Touch her and die? Oh, he took that literally. 👀
Also—sibling drama, found family, two outcasts finding each other—ugh, my heart. 💔 I desperately need a prequel on Barrington Silver and Tessie Grimm—their story has to be insane. 👀❤️
I need more of this world ASAP, I’m soooo sat for book 3!!🖤🔥✨ -
“𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕.” “𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓?” “𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏’𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆,” 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅 𝒈𝒓𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒍𝒚. “𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓.”
I read this SO FAST!!! I was thrilled to dive back into the haunting world of ghosts, demons, and necromancers that Kaylie Smith created… and THIS TIME with an enemies-to-lovers marriage of convenience?! 💍🔥 Do you need more convincing?!
“𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆. 𝑳𝒐𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒔,” “𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒘𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒆 𝒃𝒍𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒅, 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌?”
First off, you don’t need to read the first book to understand this one (personal opinion), but I highly recommend it! 📖✨ It follows the sister’s journey through her own twisted games, and you get a few delicious sprinkles of connections from book one.
The story? A cursed game of hide and seek with demons 👀💀 and the winner from the family doesn't suffer in Hell. And who’s stuck in the enchanted nightmare that is Enchantra? Our beloved Genevieve🖤 After finding an invitation meant for her mother and getting kicked out, she refuses to take no for an answer. BOOM. She’s trapped, and her only way to survive? Marrying Rowington aka shadow daddy 🖤✨ BUAHAHA enter forced proximity, forced teamwork, and undeniable attraction 🔥🔥
“𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒊𝒕,” 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒍𝒚. “𝑰 𝒃𝒊𝒕𝒆.” 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒂𝒛𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒅. “𝒀𝒆𝒔, 𝑰’𝒎 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆.”
The tension? IMMACULATE. The way they had to hide together, play the deadly games, and tiptoe around their growing attraction drove me INSANE (in the best way possible)💜
Oh and the spice scene exists in this book and trust me.. they do not disappoint.
“𝑰 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒎𝒆.” 𝑯𝒆 𝒔𝒎𝒊𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒅. “𝑰’𝒎 𝒂 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑯𝒆𝒍𝒍, 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒖𝒔𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆.” “𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒆𝒅, 𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒆.”
What I loved most about Enchantra? Genevieve’s journey of self-discovery. She wasn’t just uncovering her past, she was also embracing the present, realizing that even though she didn’t receive the care, love, or attention she deserved, the ones who truly matter will always give it to her. 💜✨ AKA ROWINNNNNNN THAT IS A MAN.
The twists and turns of the game made this so much fun to read. I cannot imagine what’s coming next, but I need it ASAP!!!!!

ROWIN!!!!!!!!!!! THE FICTIONAL MAN YOU ARE!!!
PHEW. I need a breather. I thought Phantasma was incredible and was like nah, it can’t get better, BAM 💥 ENCHANTRA came along.
I seriously loved this, from the plot, to the romance, to the spice, to the (hopefully) possibility of the side characters getting a main story, it was perfection. I ate this up faster than a McFlurry from McDonald’s.
—fantasy romance

yeah, I’m on my knees (like Rowin) quite literally begging you to read this book. Thank you. -
2⭐️
It pains me to say that this...wasn't for me. I didn't like this almost at all. I wanted to love it, I really did. But for the reasons I'm gonna explain below I just couldn't for the life of me.
I found Genevieve to be absolutely insufferable. I didn't click with her and I found her to be whiny and annoying like 99% of the time. I found her personality to be a bit immature? I think that's more of a personal preference but her constant combativeness and the need to fight everyone on everything was a bit annoying. Even Rowin was kinda just, meh. I was expecting him to be this broody, grumpy MMC and don't get me wrong, he was. But not in the good way that I typically enjoy. I struggled to enjoy their relationship and felt that they severely lacked chemistry.
The best part of this book were the side characters, more specifically the Silver family. The banter and family dynamic was so funny and if it weren't for them I'd probably rate this even lower...yikes.
Not only did I struggle with the characters, the plot was also ATROCIOUS. This was one of the most boring "action-packed" books I've ever read. For 170 pages, NOTHING HAPPENED? It was all build-up that I inevitably didn't care about. It didn't add much to the plot and that's saying a low because, come on. 170 pages? Before we even get to the "good" part of the book? Disappointing.
However, I will say that I enjoyed the very end of the book. I think it was a bit rushed (which is kinda ironic given the pacing of the rest of the book, no?) and it felt like so much was crammed into the last 50ish pages. Also, the spice was just soooo much in this book. I like some good spice, but this is how the book looked in my eyes: very slow beginning, heavy sex in the middle, rushed ending. Boom. I basically just summed up the book for you.
Overall, I was bitterly let down given how much I liked the first book. The characters didn't do it for me and the plot was lackluster at best. Pained that I spent a couple days on this when I felt like I could've been reading something better in the mean time. Sigh, I'm sad.

You'll have to pry my cold, dead hands from this book cause I'm about to be sucked in 😭 -
the plot, the characters, the magic, the storyline in general... i m m a c u l a t e
idk if it was my head space, or me in general; this just didn't HIT for me -
I LOVED this!!
I was so excited to read more about Genevieve after enjoying Phantasma so much, and this did not disappoint! The setting and the vibes!! I was a bit nervous that it wouldn’t have the same feel as Phantasma since it takes place somewhere completely different, but it was done so well and I instantly fell into world again. I feel like there aren’t many fantasy/romantasy books that give spring vibes and this was perfect!
Genevieve was such a girl boss!! Rowin and her had me giggling all throughout this book! Their banter was SO good!! I will honestly fall for any fictional man with shadows. And the ending was so so cute!
I do think I enjoyed Phantasma a bit more so that’s why I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5, but I did enjoy it so much!! I can’t wait for the next book!
"𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓲𝓼𝓷'𝓽 𝓼𝓸𝓶𝓮𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓷𝓮𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓼𝓮, 𝓖𝓮𝓷𝓮𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓿𝓮. 𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓵𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽 𝓲𝓼 𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓪𝓻𝓮," -
4.5 stars
ROWIN AND GENEVIEVE!! they really make my bi panic flare up. i want them BOTH!
idk if it’s the unpopular opinion or not, but i liked this even more than phantasma. while i really like phantasma, i loved enchantra and absolutely devoured it. ate it tf up and left no crumbs.
my only slight grievance is that i loved the spooky gothic horror vibes of phantasma, and while they were still somewhat present in enchantra it was a bit toned down. other than that: perfection! the world kaylie smith has created is so much fun and i’m so glad there’s going to be another book (hopefully books, plural) to expand upon it even more. the game of enchantra was so unique and has me itching to see what’s she’ll come up with next.
i just really preferred genevieve as an fmc over ophelia which was a major contribution to my enjoyment of this as well. she was an absolute delight and so hilarious. probably one of my favorite fmcs i’ve read about in a while tbh! now when it comes to rowin, it’s hard to choose between him and blackwell bc they’re both amazing. so, i simply won’t. this man was so fine and had me eating out of the palm of his hand. plus, an mmc with facial piercings?? why do i feel like that’s almost unheard of? give me more.
on top of having a great fmc and mmc, the supporting cast was also so much fun! i think that’s something phantasma was lacking. the silvers were such an interesting bunch and i really hope the rest of the series continues to give us more of them! (especially sevin🫦 loved him.)
i had my reservations going into this, but i’m so glad i picked it up!! i’ve been in the most horrendous, diabolical slump ever and still loved this so much so that should really be saying something. if you liked phantasma you should definitely give this one a go as well!! -
ready or not except it’s a marriage of convenience and now you’re trapped in a competition to the death with your new in-laws
genevieve and the horrible no good very bad week
kaylie you cooked this like a 7 course meal and i’m out here begging for more!!

After her mother’s death, Genevieve finds a letter that leads her to a mysterious castle in Italy 🇮🇹. There, she meets Rowin and his brothers... and gets forced into playing dangerous games where the stakes are life or death ☠️. As things unfold, her bond with Rowin grows stronger , but so do the secrets and the danger around her.
I was sooo excited for Enchantra after finishing Phantasma ✨, and let me tell you... it did NOT disappoint! It was full of tension, and dark vibes that made the story deeper. I kept comparing both books, but honestly? Each one is amazing in its own way 🖤📖
One of my favorite parts was Genevieve and Rowin’s relationship 💕. It felt real and slowly developed in a way I loved. You could really see how much they start depending on each other.
And I can’t forget Umbra, the cutest thing ever! 🥺💫
The Silver brothers?? They added something special to the story. Each one has their own vibe... some are mysterious , others intense , even fun at times. Every time one of them showed up, I felt like I needed to know more about them . There’s so much depth and history there .
BUT for me, Sevin is the best. No doubt! His energy?? Mysterious 🖤. Magnetic. Every scene with him felt more intense. I honestly feel like he’s even more complex than Rowen, and that’s why I couldn’t help but like him more hehe 😏💘.
The best part? There's gonna be another book in the series!! And all I’m wishing for is that it focuses on Sevin... he’s the one who keeps me hooked and excited for what’s next! ✨

So excited to see where the story goes after all the mystery in Phantasma… 💜🔮📖 -
➳ thank you netgalley for the arc!
this book was a really fast paced and fun read. i got the audiobook version and i really enjoyed the narration. laura did a great job on voicing every character. similar to phantasma, this book has the same gothic fantasy vibe. personally, you don't need to read this book after book 1. this can be read as a standalone. i really liked the romance in enchantra and really liked both main characters. the only reason i would rate this lower is because i prefer to physically read my fantasy books. sometimes, i find the narrative in audiobooks to be iffy, depending on the genre.⌞genevieve⌝
i actually prefer gen over ophelia. i like that she isn't your stereotypical fantasy FMC and has unique quality traits that also aren't annoying. that was one of the pros i found in the first book as well. fantasy doesn't always mean unreasonable and lame. i can't wait to see where the world goes from here.⌞rowan⌝
every character named rowan is hot and i don't make the rules. i prefer rowan over blackwell. while it is your typical shadow daddy love interest, i ate it up, nonetheless. he came and did his job. we stan. -
3.5⭐️
Phantasma was very fun, so of course I had to pick this one up next!
I was super excited at the start. Enchantra promised tension, fun, and an alluring world. While it didn’t quite live up to all my expectations, I still had a good time with it. It was definitely fun overall, though I think I enjoyed Phantasma just a bit more.
The romance was really cute, even if it didn’t completely sweep me off my feet. The characters, though were awesome. Funny, intriguing, and honestly felt like they deserved a stronger plot to match their potential. I’d love to see more of them in the third book which I’m definitely picking up! -
Kalylie Smith has cast her spell on me the second time around! She wowed me with
Phantasma and I continued to be enchanted, enamored, and dazzled by
Enchantra! It is gripping, sexy, dark, dangerous, magical, and deadly. I was once again swept away and into the wonderful gothic world that Kaylie Smith has created. I enjoyed her cast of characters, the atmosphere, the setting (mainly in Italy), the danger, and the scent of romance in the air!
Enchantra focuses on Genevieve Grimm who intercepts an invitation meant for her mother and travels to Italy in hopes of attending a gala at a beautiful palace. But this is not Cinderella's story, it's Genevieve's story and it is far from a fairy tale!
She is met by Rowin Silver, a tall, dark, and handsome man who is incredibly rude and warns her to stay away. But she is determined, headstrong, and curious and enters the grand home. Apparently, no one warned Genevieve what curiosity did to the cat! What she finds is a dark family that is caught in a deadly and twisted game. She must play or be trapped there. She and Rowin come up with a plan and an allegiance. Genevieve will soon wonder if their wicked games will be enough to win?
Holy Moly! Fans of
Phantasma will love
Enchantra as well! As I mentioned it has the same dark, deadly, wicked, twisted, and sexy vibe flowing throughout the book. I was never a big fantasy book reader but there are certain authors who have cast their magical spells on me and Kaylie Smith is one of them!
I enjoyed the banter, the chemistry, the world building, the twists, the tension, the dread, the danger, and the vivid descriptions in this book. I also enjoyed the magical aspect and Genevieve's spunk and courage. Plus, this book ends in a way that in my opinion left room for another book in the series. **wink, wink, nudge, nudge.
Fans of fantasy, dark romance, enemies to lovers romance books will fall head over heels for this one. I know I did.
I was lucky enough to have both the kindle and audiobook version of
Enchantra!!! Laura Horowitz narrated this book (she narrated
Phantasma as well) and did a fabulous job of bringing the characters to life!!
Wonderfully written, dark, sexy, and left me wanting more!!!!
*This is the second book in a series but would work very well as a stand alone!

Well, let me kick this off with a little confession: I didn’t exactly fall in love with Phantasma. In fact, I struggled with it and found myself hesitating to dive into the second book of the Wicked Games series. I kept wondering—does this sequel really deserve all the hype? But then, one of my guilty pleasures came to mind: Ready or Not—especially that iconic line:
“– Jesus Christ, what happened to you? – In-laws!”
That movie is pure gold, and the pitch “Ready or Not meets Throne of the Fallen” felt like a siren song I simply couldn’t resist. Add in the fact that purple is my absolute favorite color (and that cover? Drop-dead gorgeous!), I thought: “What have you got to lose?”
And wow—was I glad I gave it a chance! This book completely exceeded my expectations. It delivered all my favorite tropes in one go: enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, a marriage of inconvenience, and yes—my beloved locked room mystery vibes. Oh, and let’s talk about the chemistry. Rowin and Genevieve brought the heat—so much steam, the pages practically fogged up! I’m a sucker for spice, and this one had enough to make you sweat, gasp, and maybe fan yourself a little. 🔥
Beyond the romance, the twisted family dynamics of the Silver siblings were absolutely delicious. Dysfunctional? For sure—especially when your family tradition involves hunting each other down every equinox due to a devil’s curse. But they’re also fascinating. Sevin, with his irresistible charm and sweet tooth, completely stole my heart. I need a whole book about him! But I’d also happily dive into stories centered on the darkly magnetic Grave, the mysterious and chaotic Covin, the softer, more shadowed Remi, and the enigmatic Wells (who I hope we get to know better soon). And Ellin—the only sister in the clan—was such a standout: sharp-tongued, fiercely independent, and a powerful healer. She’s begging for her own story too!
The plot kicks off with Genevieve Grimm trying to find peace on an Italian vacation, still reeling from her mother’s death, the trauma of the Phantasma competition, and the emotional wreckage left by a lover who shattered her trust in relationships. Following a trail of crows and a series of letters between her mother and the mysterious Barrington Silver, Genevieve winds up at the Silver family’s imposing estate. But instead of meeting Barrington, she’s greeted—rudely, might I add—by his son, Rowin, who promptly slams the door in her face. Challenge accepted.
Little does Genevieve know, she’s arrived at the worst possible time—Equinox. Thanks to Barrington’s deal with a demon named Knox, the entire Silver family is now immortal and cursed to play a deadly game of hide-and-seek every equinox. To survive, she must become one of them… which means marrying into the family. Cue a spontaneous wedding with none other than Rowin—the grumpy guy who tried to kick her out just moments ago.
Suddenly, Genevieve’s stuck in a blood-soaked, high-stakes game where trust is scarce and danger lurks around every corner. She doesn’t trust Rowin—or anyone, really—but the more they face together, the harder it becomes to deny the electric tension between them. As her feelings shift and their connection deepens, she has to face the terrifying truth: survival might cost her more than she expected—especially her heart.
And let’s be honest… she’s definitely not ready.
Overall: This was a wildly addictive, adrenaline-fueled rollercoaster of a read! A perfect blend of fantasy, high-stakes suspense, irresistible romance, and jaw-dropping twists. I devoured it and now I’m begging for more! Sequels, spin-offs, bonus scenes—I’ll take it all. Just don’t leave me hanging!

this just claimed the #1 spot on my top 10 of the year so far. I cried 3x. I'm so attached to these characters, this world, and this storyline. honestly one of the best books I've ever read. p.s. long live chapter 29 👀

4.5 stars for a GOOOOOD second installment in this mf series!!!!! I adore the way Kaylie has set us up for the remaining books - the world building most definitely expanded from book 1 and left me wanting so much more.
Rowin & Vivi have my whole entire heart and while I loved Phantasma a tiny bit more, this was still such a beautiful love story not just romantically but in a familial way too. UGH. I love these books. -
i would give my soul to rowin 😩
stop i didn’t want this to be over omg !! the way i was immediately sucked in right from the beginning should be JAIL 😭
this series has me in such a chokehold and i’ve been DYING to finally start this book. i already knew i would fall in love with vivi but then rowin popped up ??? HELLO 😍 i love him and i want him so bad it physically hurts !!
not only did i fall in love with the main characters but also with rowin’s siblings and umbra too 🥹 even though they all tried to kill vivi at some point they’re still lovable LOL 💀
i love how this was different than phantasma in many ways 💜 every single chapter had me so intrigued !! all the rounds of the hunt made my heart stop and restart again 😂 i wish i could read this all over again !! it makes me want to reread phantasma and this 😩
the way i want to live in this book world and go through the rounds is quiet concerning 😅 even though i know i would probably die the second i stepped foot into the house but yo fucking lo
ROWIN IS A DIRTY DAWG AND I AM DOWN BAD FOR HIM 💥💳 the tension, push and pull between him and vivi was oh so delicious 🤤 i never wanted to be a fictional character so bad in my life. vivi is out here living my dream 🤩 these characters are absolutely everything !! i loved getting to see salem and ophie as well 💜

She has to marry him to survive….well to MAYBE survive in a deadly family competition 💜💀 fast-paced romantasy ft. a feminine girlie and her new shadow husband!
“I’m a creature of Hell. Worshiping is not usually in my nature. But for whatever time you remain in my bed I will make it your shrine.”
Genevieve is a girl lost and she is just trying to find her ‘people’. And BAM! She walks into a house & now has to get married into a weird family or she will die. Context doesn’t matter!! She survived Phantasma but will Ginny girl survive her new shadow husband, Rowin. Did I mention they have to pretend they are madly in love?
I really enjoyed the fast pace of this story! The plot is packed with twisted games, family stabbings, and shadow fucking. I was able to predict some of the plot twists but the ENDING was chef’s kiss 💟Random things that stuck with me:
😈 birthday stabbings & other murderous family traditions
😈 they fight their way into love
😈 fmc is a CHARMER & great at manipulating men!
😈 exhibitionism (kind of) & shadow sex
😈 mmc has pierced nipples & bellybutton 🕺🏽*okay girlie*
😈 when he said “nothing is truly eternal except my longing for you”
Never got bored once! Rowin & Ginny were fire on fire & their BANTER was truly hilarious. I didn’t expect them to bond so deeply and their story ended up being quite touching. a
There was this moment where he was fingering her and he “slid inside her, rings and all” and I’m still thinking about it to this day. BECAUSE WHAT DO YOU MEAN????! 👀👀 -
4 stars! ☆
⤿ major spoilers ﹒⟢
i didn’t expect to like this. i thought it’d be the same as the last one—cool concept, flat execution, characters i didn’t care about. but this was actually fun. like genuinely fun. i liked the plot. i liked the romance. i even liked the characters. especially rowin.
was i still annoyed sometimes? obviously. but i had a good time.
i remembered nothing from the first book. didn’t even realize this was ophelia’s sister until someone said it. and that didn’t matter at all. this felt completely separate. i was interested immediately—creepy invitation, gothic italian estate, weird family with secrets. it basically gave ready or not but with magic, and it worked. the crows, the train ride, the gate—it was already more interesting than anything in phantasma. and then she gets there and immediately gets the door slammed in her face. i was sold.
genevieve made some of the dumbest decisions i’ve ever seen. she eats random berries off a gate. she trespasses into someone’s house after being told to leave. she expects strangers to want to help her. she expects a man she’s never met to talk about her trauma with her. like. what are you doing. and she doesn’t stop. she just keeps pushing back against everything like she has a choice. she argues with everyone who’s actually trying to help her and makes it harder for them—like they clearly know more than she does, but she refuses to listen. you walk into a magical murder house and think you’re gonna reason your way out?
she does get better eventually, but for a while i wanted to shake her.
honestly, the plot was one of the best parts. the whole magical loophole marriage thing was just fun. it made everything feel more tense, and i liked that there was an actual goal instead of everyone just running around. the game itself was chaotic in a good way, and something was always happening. i did freak out at the memory loss part—i hate that trope—but it didn’t end up bothering me. the ring, the letters, all of it actually worked. it was cute. i’ll allow it.
rowin was easily the best part. from the second he told her to leave and slammed the door in her face, i knew. he was blunt, dramatic, and so over everything. and the romance? it worked. it really did. the fake dating turned into actual trust, and it didn’t really feel rushed. their banter was fun. their dynamic made sense. i liked seeing them go from reluctantly working together to something real. and his siblings were unhinged but entertaining. the names were ridiculous but also kinda cool—i weirdly liked them. definitely better characters this time around.
some of the dialogue was weird. genevieve said a lot of insane shit. and the logic? not always there. but i was having fun, so i didn’t care. this gave me everything i wanted the first book to have. and now i’m actually excited for the third one. didn’t think i’d be saying that.
