Adam, Chris, Adam, Chris, Adam, Chris………

I started out thinking I really wanted Claire with Adam. He’s been there for her, they pulled each other out of the funk they both were in, and they truly fell in love with each other.

Then Rockstar Chris and his sexy, tattoo’s and piercings snuck in to try to win back her love. At first he was annoying but just as I suspected he snuck back into her heart. Then again they have history, so I guess he never really left.

It wasn’t until about 45% in the story that I had a hard time choosing which guy I thought would be best for Claire. It drove me bonkers, reading one chapter with Claire, the next with Chris and the next with Adam.

It almost put me on emotional overload. I was swooning one minute and irritated the next!

In the end, I am all aboard the Team Adam train! Choo Choo!

If Claire doesn’t want him, I will kick my husband to the curb and pray Adam wants a Cougar!

2.5 stars. Sorry everyone, I know many love this series and I liked it a lot too after reading the first novel. I was really into most of this one as well and then...it lost me. No, drove me off the cliff is more like it. Not sure if I could really pinpoint a key moment when it changed for me but rather it seemed to be at first on a slight decline, then a steady flow down down down, and wham rock bottom! Some of you who may share my opinion know what I'm talking about...it's because of what's her face - Claire!

Yes I get, she's troubled, emotionally traumatized and damaged, all that stuff. But man, I'm not sure if I've ever witnessed the deterioration of a heroine occur so rapidly! In the first book we get to know her, see she's on the brink but still can appreciate what she's gone through. In this novel,

If I had to sum up this 2nd installment, it would be that the secondary characters were still pretty good but not great, Claire herself was utterly ridiculous, her brain must've dried up with dehydration from all the crying she did, and that just shot the whole book for me. Dumb decisions made from insecurities projected onto strong characters with serious saviour complexes. Not my cup o tea, kool-aid, hard liquor, etc. etc. Bummer.

Pieces of You starts right up where Relentless ended....Claire is trying to deal with fallout of her secret. Both guys are in love with her and will do anything and everything to make her choose one of them. Now it's Adam's turn to leave...he has to go to Hawaii for some surfing competitions and will be gone for 2 months and he decides to let her go....then to wait for him??? Chris is still in town and will not give up on Claire. They share so much history.....but sometimes it can either keep you together or tear you apart. I really wanted to hate Claire for what she did to Chris, but I don't. She had a horrible childhood, so i understand the choices she made....i just hope she chooses the right guy for her.....time will tell. Hopefully we get some closure in the next book...GAH!

Pieces of You by Cassia Leo Review
(full review will be up for blog tour)
    5 STARS!!

**PLEASE NOTE** This is book 2 in The Shattered Hearts series. You HAVE to read book 1 before you start reading this. Book 1 is called Relentless.

Oh man, I have been sucked into this series, these characters have become real people to me. Call me crazy but I seriously talk to the author like the actually exist. lol, all the means is Cassia is an amazing author and knows how to create some seriously awesome characters.

So, in Pieces of You we pick up right where Relentless left off. Claire and Adam are together but now Chris is now in the picture. He knows all about the adoption and is doing anything he can to get an open adoption with the parents so he and Claire can know their daughter. Now that Chris is back in the picture after Claire breaking up with him a year ago....we know things will start to get a bit messy.

Now that Claire is going back to school, she is 100 miles away from Adam on a weekly basis and on top of him being away at competitions, their time together is limited. The separation is hard for both of them but for Adam, he has to constantly worry about Chris showing up at Claire's dorm.

Adam makes the decision to leave for Hawaii. I totally see his reasoning why he leaves and I'm anyone else who reads this will too but hello, we know Chris is going to swoop in while he's gone. It's a given. I actually started to really like Chris is Pieces of You. In Relentless, I was screaming "NO, go away Chris" but now, I see a real importance to him in Claire's life. He is determined to get Claire back. They both hurt each other in ways that are some what unforgivable but their bond isn't like most. He really is a sweet, caring guy oh and hes a freaking famous rock star. Of course with their past and Adam being gone and also Adam doing a VERY STUPID decision, Claire and Chris re-open the past.

Oh Adam. You sweet, hot, stupid boy. Why, why why would you do what you do?!? I see your logic, I do but seriously? AHHHH lol, I could slap him.

Now for Claire....I love her. She has been through so much for such a young girl. I want to just hug that crap out of her and sob with her for everything she has to go through. She is faced with yet again a HUGE decision. As much as I know who I want her with, I can see why she is having such a hard time with these two guys. Then again, I am super jealous of her for having two freaking hot guys who love her. I love this girl. She is someone I would totally love to meet. She is real, reacts the way normal girls would. My imaginary BFF lol

The story is told from Claire, Adam and Chris' POV. This was really great since we this time got the hear Chris' side of things and how he really felt. It takes you on such an emotional roller-coaster. One minute your saying "aww" then two seconds later you saying "WHAT?!? NO!".

This is how I want it to go. lol. I want Claire with Adam but for Chris to still remain close friends since he really is a great person. This way Adam, who I feel and most people feel brought Claire back to life. I seriously hope Adam keeps up with his mature ways...he is just so perfect for Claire. I cant wait to read the rest of this series and honestly anything by Cassia Leo. I love all her work <3

I want to thank Cassia Leo for supplying me with an ARC copy of Pieces of You. You are an amazing author and person. You are always so generous and sweet and I want to thank you for becoming one of my favorite people ever.

The 'secret' revealed at the end of book 1 is heart breaking and Pieces of You continues dealing with the fallout of this secret and of course the love triangle....... Claire did what she did for ALL the right reasons but for me those reasons are no more and it's heartbreaking......Claire feels, loss, guilt, remorse, regret, sadness.... Her heart hurts and so does mine....

"I'm stuck in the hell of knowing there is no turning back." (THIS IS WHAT I DON'T GET????? Why is there no turning back???)

I couldn't stop crying whilst reading about the secret and the consequences. The emotion of it all is so tangible. It's probably the thing that annoys me the most about this series but in a weird, emotional way, it's also the thing I love the most; it's probably what makes the story AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL.

Cheating is NOT the theme of this book but there is a love triangle with two wonderful guys..... they both love her and she loves the both of them.....
Who's heart means the most to her....???
Who does she really want deep down...???
    What should happen...???

Claire is a genuinely nice, beautiful book character caught up in a desperate situation that she has no control over and I'm not talking about the gorgeous guys....

Sweet, surfer Adam.... 'fell-in-love-with-Claire-recently,' ....their relationship is so beautiful and lovely. He has to leave for Hawaii for a short time... but he will be back....

    So cute!!!

Mr Rockstar, Chris Knight is back....and firmly in the picture.... He's the Swoon-some guy, Claire has a 'deep-everlasting-connection-with.'

"The biggest mistake you made was loving me enough to let me go." ~Chris

"Your face and your words are entangled in everyone of my happiest memories..... I'm not myself without you." ~ Chris

Chris believes, despite everything, they are, "made for each other." I had a few doubts, because Adam is also lovely, but by the middle of this book I was firmly ....

I have everything crossed for a happy-ever-after..... it's just with Claire's 'secret' from the first book..... I'm not sure if their HEA is possible in every sense of the word but I will keep hoping.

"No one knows how to love me like you and no one knows how to hurt me like you."

As I said in my review of the previous book. By the end of it, I was leaning slighty towards Chris in who she should end up with. So when this book started, I was so ready for them to rekindle that relationship as well as see them deal with the big secret of the last book. I liked Claire in the beginning because she never tried to lead Chris on of a possible reconciliation. She knew she wanted to be with Adam. (Even though I really wanted something to happen... yes I'm evil.) Soon that changed, near the end. She has no idea who to choose and I don't blame her. Both guys are really great, I still don't know either. Right when I decide, something happens to change my mind. It drove me crazy. So I would NOT want to be in her position. What I didn't like, was how she reacted to the secret. I don't understand why she couldn't face it like Chris was doing. I still don't get her fear and then later regretting it. I mean come on, do you want to be a part of the secret or not. Anyways, later on, her indecision was getting me a bit annoyed. I didn't think either of them deserved to get hurt. It took Chris's mom for her to realize she needs time alone.

    ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me," he whispers in my ear. "I'll break all the rules to keep you."

    ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Oh Adam... I liked him enough in the first book but I ended up liking him so much more near the end. In the beginning, I still loved his stupid jokes and how he was with Claire. He really wants to be there for her and doesn't judge her for the decisions she has made in her life. He can be sweet and supportive. Still, his temper is there that freaks me out. You never know when his anger will control him, and that is the only thing that really worries me about Adam. I know he is a great guy and would never hurt Claire, but when he gets angry it's quite scary. I like that that is changing though. Claire is making him a better person, and is more calmer than he ever was in his past. He was a bit insecure in this book and I totally understand why, I mean I would too. He goes to Hawaii to compete, pretty much leaving Claire to Chris. So I get his nervousness. There was on part where I thought he was really stupid, but again, I got his reasoning for what he did.

    ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“You’re mine, and a piece of you will always belong to me the same way a piece of me will always belong to you.”

    ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

I was kind of rooting for Chris from the start. He and Claire share a history of being each other's first loves. They have a bond that seems pretty unbreakable, so I felt like they were meant to be. I wanted so many times for him to pursue her, but he wouldn't because she was in a relationship and he respected her. But when he finally does, I was internally screaming with excitement. They are just so comfortable with each other and they know so much of one another. Regardless to Claire hurting him, he still really cares about her. He wants to keep her this time and not let go. But I've come to realize that no matter how much I want them to be together, that maybe their feelings for each other isn't love anymore. At least in Claire's part. She seems to really love Adam. But I love Chris damnit! And Adam! I'm so confused. He totally melted my heart with his lyrics and the thing he did in the ending... SWOON! Oh even Adam made me swoon hard in the ending too.

    ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

“Most people think that they want spacious homes, but they don’t realize how the emptiness of a large room just amplifies the emptiness in a broken heart. And we’re all broken, in one way or another.”

    ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

It looks like Claire needs to have some serious thinking time. Because both guys have put all their cards on the table, now it's just time for her to choose who she is going to stay with. Not an easy decision to make, that's for sure. There was quite a bit of drama and angst in this book, which is what had me turning the page. I loved that this book was in the three main character's POVs. I got to understand Adam better, which may be why I loved him a lot more in this book. I got to see Adam's thoughts on Claire and some glimpses of their past. It was really sweet. Claire is still a bit messed up by her past, and so she feels undeserving of love. Some news comes to light about her mother in this book. So I'm guessing more on that will be in the next book. I enjoyed this book better than the first, but it did confuse the hell out of me. What's a girl to do when two hot guys, who are great catches, are after you? I have no clue. I must read what happens next. I want to know her choice. Overall, a really great read.

This book deserves at least 10 stars! ★★★★★★★★★★

I had the extreme honor of beta reading "Pieces of You" by the lovely and talented Cassia. Where to start? Pieces of You basically pick's up where Relentless left off. There is the big choice that Adam must make for his and Claire's future. Do I stay? Or do I go? Well you will have to read to find out what his choice is and the actions from that choice. Now lets carry on. This book has so many emotions, more than Relentless I would say. Cassia takes you on a roller coaster of highs and lows. For example I was 1000% team Adam in Relentless. The first many chapters of Pieces of You I actually was starting to be team Chris!!! Can you believe that!?!?!....Well some of you may very well be team Chris...But then I seen Chris's true colors and I realized that Chris is not good for Claire. Well that is my opinion. Adam is whats best for Claire in every way shape and form. We also get a look more into Chris's personal life and his mother Jackie, which I must say I absolutely adore! She is a truly awesome mom and she doesn't judge Claire and is actually there for her and doesn't just tell Claire what she wants Claire to do or say. Their encounters are very emotional. I'm happy Claire has her. Let's see...Claire I also had highs and lows with her character this book. Mostly I was so proud of her. She has grown and matured. But, sometimes with Chris in the picture I feel he drags her down to who she is now and could be. That is just my honest opinion. Adam, what can I say about him? I loved him even more this time around than in Relentless! Is that even possible you ask. Well, it is! I was also very proud of Adams character in Pieces of You. Especially the more chapters towards the end.. He has also grown and matured and you cannot help but love him and his corny jokes, and YES, they do pop up all over ;-)Also our dear Adam gets caught up in some of his own drama from his past,in Hawaii. What happens!? You will have to read to find out!
Now on to Chris Knight. What can I say about him? He had his moments where I really liked him. I never liked him enough to be the RIGHT choice for Claire. But he is a decent guy. Sneaky, but a good guy.The guy can also sing a tune ;-)
There is a lot that goes on that I also can't comment about. You will have to wait to read and find out. But let me tell you, that you will NOT be disappointed. I enjoyed Pieces of You possibly more than Relentless. Both beautiful and amazing stories. I am so very proud of Cassia and the writer she is becoming. I knew from reading the "Chase" series she was going to do great things. And she does not disappoint. Well ladies and gents you simply must read Pieces of You! And if you haven't read Relentless, then get the F$#@* on it!
    Enjoy!
And here are some(A lot actually ;-) of my most favorite quotes.

"Get out of here before I sick Bigfoot on you."

    (I LOVE Adam's jokes ;-)
    "Me: Knock Knock?"
    "Claire: Who's there?"
    "Me: Me!!!"

"I'll be home for Christmas if I have to crawl here."

"That's water under the bridge. The important thing is you came back and that you never, ever do that to me again."

"It's not awkward or fucked up and I think that's what's getting to me. I expected it to be weird, but it's not. It's just...home."

"What? I just want to know if I'm gonna have to go on a low-carb diet when I leave here."

"You're so fucking adorable.do you need a joke to relax?"

"I've got your toothpaste right here."

"Because sometimes you have to suffer without the things you want now so you can have everything you need later."

"You're not going to lose me. You're still my favorite olive."

    "You have my whole heart."

"Don't feel bad. Adam eventually found Steve and they lived happily ever after."

"Not as delicious as my homemade cream ale,"

"I'll do whatever it takes to make sure you don't drown again."

"I'll break all the rules to keep you."

"You're my my mess, and that makes you a beautiful mess,"

"I would love for you to wait for me,but I don't expect you to."

"I don't want to wait for you. I want you here now. I need you here now."

"I'm going to get ready for class and try not to think of dozens of ways of murdering you."

"As sure as I am that you're going to cry like a bitch when I leave this office."

"If you skin me, who's going to pay for your gaming addiction?"

"You know how much plaid turns me on."

"If you weren't crippled right now, I'd hit you."

    "Olive you forever."

Yet again, I go against the norm and so forgive me for my rant, but words can’t describe how angry I am.

    I.JUST.DO.NOT.UNDERSTAND.CLAIRE

There I said it! My one and MAIN ISSUE is CLAIRE!

This is what I want to do to her

Let just say this. I liked
    Relentless.

This is how I felt after I finished Relentless

So… you can see how excited I was for Pieces of You

    This is how I felt

At 27% things start to pick up and I’m so happy

At 37% I’m getting nervous, but I still like Claire

At 51% I’m pissed. Claire is so immature!

At 100% I pretty much wanted to punch something and by “something” I mean “Claire”

We start off right where we left off in Relentless and if you haven’t read it yet, then do not read anymore.

So, we are shocked right? I mean Claire freaking cheated on Adam with Chris, her baby daddy and there is the cliff-hanger. Yep, did that pissed me off? Yes, BUT I still gave it 4 stars BECAUSE the read was pretty good. So, Claire pissed me off, but I’m giving her a second chance.

How does Claire act in Pieces of You? Up until the 40% mark, I was cool with her. I felt like she was really trying. She doesn’t zone out as much, she’s being honest with both Adam and Chris, she wants to see her baby and so all is groovy right?

    Yes, then… Claire changes.

Here comes the slow downward slope. Let me just be honest. I hate HATE hate… did I say hate, yep, Hate indecisive girls. Just get over yourself and pick a guy! Let me rephrase, either pick a guy or be alone, BUT do not be with someone and then not really be with them. Do you know what I mean?

Adam goes to Hawaii to train and compete in a surfing competition for 8 weeks. That’s only 2 months people. Chris is back in Claire’s life and he is very honest with his feelings towards Claire. Now Claire, she is just this big ball of mess. She basically has two guys drooling over her and in the mean time, cries cries and cries her freaking eyes out.

First off, why difficult is it to be away from someone for 8 weeks. Also, Adam is still in the same country, yes Hawaii is kind of far, but sheesh, I’ve had a long distance relationship for over a year and he lived in a different country.

    Let me reference that part

You’re mine, and a piece of you will always belong to me the same way a piece of me will always belong to you - Adam

Chris is trying really hard to redeem himself. He is working hard to put Claire first and get a chance to meet his baby. You would think Claire would be appreciative, happy or even thankful?

You’re the f&cking love of my life. You don’t stop loving someone just because they’ve hurt you

Go ahead and walk away. You’re still mine, Claire, whether or not you admit it to yourself

The biggest mistake you made was loving me enough to let me go. I’m so f&cking sorry I wasn’t there for you
    -Chris

    Ug no

Claire is selfish, self absorbed, immature, emotional, dramatic and STUPID

Do not even get me started on the ending It’s beyond ridiculous!

I think Chris and Adam are okay, honestly I don’t know if I would pick to be with any of them. I think everyone needs to grow-up and stop having unprotected sex.

Cassia Leo, you do impress!!  Pieces of You nearly tore me to pieces before it was over!

Pieces of You picks up directly from the end of Relentless, so do not try to read book two without reading book one.  In Relentless, Claire had run from college, from the family that raised her, and from the boyfriend that loved her and knew her best…who also happened to have skyrocketed to musical stardom in the past year.  Adam had, in his own way, run as far as possible from the life he resented, as well.  Adam and Claire met at the coffee shop where she worked and soon found themselves in a relationship.  They were both determined to lock away some pretty big secrets, but those locks didn’t hold.  Claire and Adam realized that being together made them stronger, and with that strength they could face anything.  However, Claire is now attending college one hundred miles from where they met and fell and in love, and Adam is being sent to Hawaii to deal with the family business he hates.  Claire’s ex-boyfriend, rocker Chris Knight, is also back in her life and determined to win her back for good.  He has a strong emotional edge over Adam, too.

I have to start by saying that I so enjoyed the first book in this Shattered Hearts series, Relentless!  Cassia Leo, at that point, was a new-to-me author who I knew nothing about, but I was offered the opportunity to read an ARC.  As I almost always am these days, I was running behind on reading and reviewing, and I debated if I should say yes or no.  However, the book summary piqued my interest, and something told me that I couldn’t let this opportunity pass me by. Can I tell you?  That was one of the BEST decisions I have made in a long time!  Not only did I have the chance to read a fantastic story, but I found an author that I know I will be following for years to come.  Little did I know that when I picked up Pieces of You to begin reading, Cassia Leo was about to outdo herself!  This story grabbed my heart and never let go.

Okay.  Soooo….here’s where I admit that after reading Relentless, my loyalties were pretty firmly with Chris Knight, Claire’s rocker ex-boyfriend.  I enjoyed Adam, but, for some reason, I didn’t quite connect with him like I did Chris in those few brief scenes we got with him.  This is where it gets tricky now.  After reading Pieces of You?  Cassia did the impossible and completely changed my mind about Adam!  Now, I’m torn equally between Chris and Adam.  I know EXACTLY how Claire feels!!  She has two sexy, decent, wonderful men vying for her attention, and she would be extremely lucky to have either of them!

As I was reading Pieces of You, I found myself quite upset and angry with Claire.  I felt she was toying with the affections of two very good men and treating them both unfairly.  However, as time went on, and the story progressed toward the end, I began to understand her confusion and inability to choose (See the previous paragraph!).  Claire was and still is an emotional wreck for a variety of very legitimate reasons.  She’s, basically, torn between the past and the present, and that’s an over-simplification.

For personal reasons, a certain thread in this continuing storyline is one that is quite near and dear to my heart.  This story as a whole is emotional and vivid, and no aspect of it more so than the one I refer to.  I expressed to Cassia, privately, that, after forty years, she’s helped me to put a few things into perspective.  Reading this from Claire’s side has been eye-opening for me, even though it’s fiction and for entertainment purposes.  If you've read Relentless, you probably have a fairly good idea what it is I’m referring to.  Sometimes those small things make a difference in our real lives.  My thanks to Cassia for that.

This author writes with an awful lot of heart, realism and honest emotion.  I know that as fact because this story made me happy.  It made me sad.  It made me laugh.  It made me cry.  It made me wistful.  Pieces of You made me FEEL.  I will tell you, there is nothing in this series that is going to shock-and-awe you or pummel you into a half-dead emotional state.  I said this about Relentless, and it’s even more true now.  The characters drive this story.  It’s a journey, and, like all good journeys, it’s one that has to be experienced and appreciated.

    Pure awesomeness!

Big thanks to Cassia for an ARC copy of Pieces Of You.

Claire and Adam's love story is just so enthralling to me. It pulled me in with Relentless and does the same with this novel. There is something about Claire and Adam together that just captivates the hell out of me, and it just feels so right. Sorry Chris Knight fans, but I am an Adam Parker girl and always will be.

Adam and Claire still new to their relationship, and madly in love, but do have hardships like any other couple, and I liked how Cassia was able to capture that perfectly. Even though they had struggles, I could still see the strength, support, and unabashed love they have for one another.

    Adam,
I will never get tired of saying this...
You complete me! Seriously, your corny ass jokes and all.

    Chris,
He is a hot, determined guy for sure, but seemed way to pushy. There is just something about him I am not to sure of.

    Claire,
That girl definitely has some thinking to do!

What an awesome sequel. This series is a must have!

    3.75 stars

Pieces of You is the second book in the Shattered Hearts series. This is not a stand-alone. You have to read book one, Relentless, before you read book two.

Pieces of You picks up where Relentless left off. Everything was going good between Adam and Claire until Chris Knight, Claire’s ex-boyfriend and rock star, comes back and her secret is revealed in the worse way possible. They’ve managed to deal with this sensitive secret, but there is still a heavy cloud weighing over their heads. So, even though they are still together, their relationship is not as solid as either would like it to be.

There are many miles in between them now that Claire has decided to go back to college, and Adam has returned to doing what he loves the most: surfing competitively. They both struggle with the distance, insecurities, jealousy, and try their hardest to not to let the miles tear them apart. But now that Chris is back in town, he's decided he wants Claire permanently back in his life. This puts a lot of stress on Adam and Claire's relationship, especially since Adam has taken a job in Hawaii for his father's business with the hopes to get the job done so he can be with Claire for good.

His plan begins to crumble the longer he's away from Claire, knowing she is becoming closer to Chris again since they have so much history together. Not to mention they have a secret that emotionally binds them together. It doesn't get any more personal than this secret. And if her love life isn't enough to make her emotionally distressed, Claire now has an opportunity to fill the void in her heart that broke her in the first place before Adam mended her back together.

Claire made a heartbreaking decision that she thought, at the time, was for the best. But, when reality starts to settle in, and her past comes back to haunt her, she begins to drown in her pain and grief again. This time Adam couldn't save her. So, even though I felt for Claire, I was extremely frustrated with her in this book. She made a lot of irrational decisions that I didn't care for. Claire was a wreck. She cried a lot and almost came across as very needy. The way she went from one guy to the next didn't sit well with me. I really wish she would've handled both these guys hearts with better care.

Oh the angst and drama! Who will Claire choose? Adam or Chris.

Chris... I wanted to like him so bad. I saw good qualities in him in the first book. I understand the strong bond between him and Claire. I get why these two are drawn to each other. They have history. The flashbacks in the first book showed me exactly how much they love each other. And the things he did for Claire were beautiful. However, that was before he left to become a rock star and left Claire behind. I didn't like the way he pursued Claire even though she was with Adam. Not cool. I also think he took advantage of Claire during a weak moment in her life. Not cool either. Yet, at the same time, Claire should've taken better precautions with Chris. So, they are both in the wrong for what they did. I just hope that Claire can see that, even though Chris says he loves her, and I do believe him, that he isn't the right person for her. Sometimes it's just time to let go of the past.

Adam, Adam, Adam... so sexy and funny with his adorable jokes. He is also incredibly self-less and caring. He would do anything for Claire. He pushed her into going back to school because he knew that’s what she wanted. He knew it would put distance between them, yet he did it for Claire. Making Claire happy is what Adam wanted the most of all. I honestly think Adam would do just about anything for Claire. I really think the connection between Adam and Claire feels more genuine and less tainted than what Claire and Chris have together. They have a significant amount of chemistry between them that I loved. Team Adam!

It clearly shows how much love and heart and soul Cassia Leo put into Pieces of You. It’s well-written and captivating. I knew from the moment I started this book it was going to be a soul-crusher. I was right. I will admit to struggling with how this book made me feel when I finished it. I struggled with understanding Claire's decisions in this book. She frustrated the hell out of me. But I'm still to know what happens in the next book. Claire, honey, you better pick Adam... damn't!

OMG! OMG! OMG! This is so not fair! How can it just end like that?!?! How am I supposed to wait months and months to know who Claire decides to be with after such an epic ending! Wait scratch that because there was no ending, it just stopped and now I have to wait and I don’t want to!! Life’s not fair!

I can’t take this, I thought I couldn’t take the wait after reading Relentless but now I really, really can’t take the wait for the third book in the Shattered Hearts series.

This has become my new drama romance book of 2013. It’s so much drama and I absolutely love it!

Warning: If you have not read the first book in the series Relentless, spoilers below.

So Claire and Adam (I am totally 100% on team Adam’s side now by the way) are living their happily ever after. Claire is back in school and Adam is still living in their old apartment building doing the long distance relationship thing. At the same time Claire is dealing with Chris (her ex boyfriend) who is back in town after finding out Claire gave up their baby for adoption (which by the way is the best surprise EVER in a book- so did not see it coming). Chris is trying to get visitation rights for them to see their baby from the adoptive parents and wants to stay in N.C. to be close to the baby and Claire.

This is putting a big ol’ glitch in Adam and Claire’s relationship especially since Adam has to leave for Hawaii for two months because of work. As Claire gets closer to Chris, Adam & Claire begin to separate due to distance and circumstances. Claire is torn between Adam, the man who picked up the pieces of her broken heart and put them back together; and Chris the man who broke her heart.

The author Ms. Cassia Leo is AMAZING at making the reader think one thing is about to happen when something totally different happens. I love being surprised and reading a book that isn’t predictable. Kuddos to Ms. Leo!

My favorite thing in the Shattered Hearts series besides the love triangle (I love a good love triangle) is how emotional the book is, just like Relentless it is so much more then romance, it has depth and heart to it.

I also LOVED Adam, like I seriously am in love with Adam. I want Adam, I need Adam. Where do you find an Adam because I want him! When I finished Relentless I was on the fence over what man I want for Claire. I hated how Chris left her for L.A. never going back for her but I felt their connection to one another and being each other’s first love. Adam was great and helped Claire through hard times but after reading Pieces of You I have come to the conclusion Claire must choose Adam and if she doesn’t I will take him! He is amazing, I tell ya, Amazing! Chris is pretty amazing too, what a tough choice!

The book leaves on a giant cliff hanger between not only what man Claire will choose, but also dealing with Claire’s past and family. The book was SOOOO good and it just ended! Ugh! This wait sucks and it’s only been an hour since I finished!

This is a MUST READ series! It’s absolutely brilliant and the characters are amazing with a fantastic storyline! I am so happy to have picked up this series. I read both books in one day, that’s how butterflying-amazing this series is (Slammed fans will get that)!

So with that, I will now cry myself to sleep until the third book and still untitled book in the Shattered Hearts series is released.

I give Pieces of You 5 Stars!

    5 FABULOUS STARS

    Wow... **Deep breaths**!!

What a fantastic follow up to Relentless by Cassia Leo. From the first page to the last I was gripped. My heart is hurting a little right now and honestly I’m not sure who I love out of the two guys. I’m torn. Torn like a flimsy piece of paper that's been shredded down the middle. Cassia’s writing is beautiful, gripping and impossible to put it down once you start reading. Between the tears and the smiles and the flow of the story line, I was completely consumed with Chris, Claire and Adam. She builds the angst and the hurts beautifully. I wish I could convey to you how original and amazing her story is. Yes, this is a love triangle type book, but each character has their own thing going on. They’re all individually flawed, have some baggage but you can’t help pulling for them all. I know at one point I was thinking, “Good Lord, can we just do a brother husbands type of thing. Can she keep both guys!!” They’re just that amazing. My heart strings were pulled on so many times. I cried, laughed, smiled and then cried again. It’s an impeccably written story with such a soul grabbing plot. Absolutely something that you NEED to read.

In Pieces of You we get three point of views. The chapters alternate between Claire, Chris and Adam, each giving us a peek into their views and feelings of what’s going on. I’m not going to give you a plot break down in case you haven’t read the first book Relentless, but in this book we get A LOT more of Chris. Chris Knight (the rocker...swooooon) has a love for Claire that will make your heart thump and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get her back. He’s a very sweet character but exudes a definite sexiness that keeps you swooning and wanting more. A couple of the quotes from his mouth left me WEAK KNEED (especially his song for Claire). He’s still hurt over the events he found out about in book 1 but he doesn’t hold it against Claire at all. He’s forgiving and understanding and really gives Claire the unconditional love that she needs.

I fell in love with Adam in Relentless and I have to say he didn’t lose any points from me in this one. Adam is SO deeply in love with Claire that I can feel it deep into my bones. He’s a selfless man that really wants to make her happy. He’s willing to give it all up to be with her and I love that about him. He just wants Claire to be happy and he wants to be that man for her. The problem is that Claires “baggage” is a ton of responsibility and trying to hold her together, work, surf and live his life takes a lot out of him. I think that Adam wants to give Claire the world. He’s just so darn sexy and his little jokes are completely swoonworthy. He’s a GOOD guy, that I don’t have the heart to see finish last. I think the connection that he shares with Claire might be stronger than the connection Claire shares with Chris. There’s just something that these two have that call to me. I’m not sure what it is but it's electric.

Claire in this book is a little bit better than the first one. She still struggles with the same things but she wants to get better and is trying to be braver, stronger and face the stuff that plagues her. She’s back in school and her drive shows. I could literally FEEL her heart being pulled in two directions in this book. The way she loved both guys is evident. Claire has an amazing spirit. She’s a selfless girl that I find very authentic and real. I loved the way her thoughts and feelings were conveyed to me through the pages. I really and honestly love almost everything about Claire herself.

Overall, the only thing I can say is if you haven’t READ this series, DO IT, DO IT NOW!!! It’s beautiful, heart wrenching and worth every crocodile tear you’ll cry. I really and truly loved every minute of reading it and can’t wait to get my hands on the third book. Cassia is definitely a talented author. From Relentless to Pieces of You I could see the characters blossom and bloom. Everything came together so perfectly. My rating is 5 FANTASTIC stars!

I know I hate to admit this. I wasn’t expected this book ended “LIKE THIS”. This is a f***ing cliffhanger!

I bet some of us, most of readers torn between love and hate, afraid to cross between the lines, afraid to choose, afraid to open the next chapter, afraid to read ‘what next’.
Damn! Cassia, my heart was ache for all of them, for Adam, Claire, even Chris... The love both men gave for Claire were every girl dream of. It’s painfull to see one of them hurt.

I know, Adam was not supposed to broke up with Claire when she needed him most. I know Claire wasn’t supposed to be with Chris. But, Chris once again, offered her comfort, offered her “HOME”,
    AGAIN.

She’s just a girl, 20 years of age for God sake...she can be sway wherever wind blows...Remember when we were at Claire age...so fragile, so needed to be comfort.

I won’t blame Christ for being so leacherous sometimes, but he know what he want, he know he have to fight for what he’s dreaming of...even he have to be sneaky...
Claire supposed to be stronger, she should remember how Chris never try to even contact her during their seperation, and think about all the groupies he f***ed !!! Aaargh...!!!
I want to slapped Claire at some point for being so fragile, for hooked up with Chris...but Adam made the biggest mistake for not trying harder for what was HIS!ill He shouldn’t leave her in a first place.

“Why? Why do you have to leave?”
“Because sometimes you have to suffer without the things you want now so you can have everything you need later.”

Abby can be a bridge between Chris and Claire, but I know they won’t be together forever. Claire is not “that kind of girl”, who can follow Chris everywhere he go, on tour or can stand still seeing Chris with all the groupies all the time....

For me, Adam is “THE ONE” for her. Well okay, he have “those” issues with anger. But I can see he can cope with that. He calmed down with Claire. Claire was his comfort zone, Claire was his home.
They NEED to be together, Adam and Claire. As for Chris, he can find someone who can be his HOME forever, but not Claire. NO, NOT CLAIRE!
I never really “into” a love triangle before, but this book consumed me a lot.

I hate it, I loved it, I cried, I smile (for Adam’s corny jokes mostly)
Remember his joke about Adam, and Eve and Steve? That was cute 

Why did Adam accept the apple from Eve?’”She spins around in my arms so she’s facing me. “Why?”“Because he couldn’t eat her cherry.”Her top lip curls up in disgust. “So terrible and now I feel bad for Adam and Eve.”“Don’t feel bad. Adam eventually found Steve and they lived happily ever after.”

...but most of all, Cassie succeeded of making me craving the third book! This is NOT me. But damn! I want more!

5 stars!! Wow, this starts right where Relentless leaves off. The news of the baby, Chris finding out he has a kid he never knew existed, Adam learning a huge secret about Claire. So where to start? I guess im going to break it down by character, because otherwise my thoughts are going to be all over the place. I truly enjoyed every page of this story.

Claire- In this book, Claire is holding on by a thread. For many reasons. Shes always been conflicted about the adoption. She feels she should be punished for doing that to Chris, she doesnt see how he or his mom Jackie can ever forgive her or not look at her with disgust. Claire sees herself in the worst way. She doesnt see her value and her actions scream it. She's punishing herself when the people in her life want to hug her and tell her they love her, but to her she doesnt feel she deserves it. She has never REALLY dealt with the breakup with Chris, so many what if's. She used meditation to stuff all the feelings down, but there was always darkness. Adam goes away to work for his job, and man does that have an impact. Claire needs to find out what Claire wants, and she cant really do that with everyone pulling at her. She has so many issues to work out.

Chris- With alternating POV's, we finally get more of Chris! Chris has suffered too. Although he became a star and bangs a lot of nameless chicks, he still never got over Claire. The revelation of a baby has really stopped him in his tracks, and made him re evaluate what he's doing, who he left behind, what he cant live without. Lookbacks from his perspective on the years he spent with Claire, and his sorrow living without her. The relationship between Chris/Claire and Jackie. They really adore Claire. Chris does make some choices in this book that made me proud. He is willing to sacrifice some things, big things (in my opinion, and im not referring to quitting his music career). I became a fan of Chris in a big way.

Adam- Well, i love Adam too. He was a big player in Claire coming to life. She began to get out of her shell. Adam had his secrets, which we know from Relentless. Now he knows about the baby and he still loves her. But how do you compete with Chris fucking Knight right?? Thats what hes thinking. They have a past, A KID, he's loaded and still adores Claire. Where does this leave him? He starts to doubt and then goes to Hawaii. Oh Adam, you idiot. I know Adam and Claire were dating a short period before all the shit hit the fan, but i really came to like him. He's loyal, giving, and loves deeply.

So anyway, theres a lot that happens that i can not tell you!! You have to read this book, you will be deeply involved in these characters, you will feel Claires despair, Chris's longing, and Adams uncertainty. Theres story about the baby. And just so you know, this story isnt over yet. The end left me with my mouth open saying " WHAT THE FUCK!!" and i mean that in a good way. Im excited to continue their journey.

  • ~♡AB♡~

4.5 stars! OMG I love Adam, and I also love Chris! I couldn't put this down it was so heartbreaking. Who will she choose?

  • Michelle

I was lucky enough to Receive an ARC copy of this book!!!
I want to start off by saying that I absolutely loved loved loved this book.
I could not put this book down!! I received this book at 6pm from the Author and did not stop reading until the early morning! Cassia Leo out did herself in the second book in The Shattered Hearts series...Now...who do I start with....

    Claire...Chris...or Adam....

    Claire it is...

Claire aggravated and got on my Nerves through out this book for me... i found it hard to relate to her. shes making a easy decision harder than it should be. and i dont get it at all. I understand why she hates her self. What she did to Chris is hard to To get past. But he's still in love with her & wants a future with her Despite what she did to him! You can't throw away 4 years together and act like you don't know what to do! & that fact that she still loves him makes this even harder for me to like her! I just want to slap her & tell her to get a grip! Everyone knows your secret now... Deal with it!
from what i read in the first book and the second book Claire and Chris had a very good relationship. Claire broke it off so that Chris can continue with his singing career. That's what Claire wanted. Chris's only down fall was that he did not come back. which to me is forgivable. since Claire sent him away. Chris did try to call her but she changed her number.
Had Chris known about the baby he would have been there for Claire & his baby! And Claire knew that!
Even after everything Chris is still jumping through hoops to get Claire back! I think he's proven him self!

My heart broke for Chris in this book...all he wanted was a chance to meet his daughter. He was upset with Claire for not telling him about the baby. but after everything that she did to him....he still wants to be with her! Claire is his first love...and even though she kept his baby from him...he understands why she did it. She did it for him. Which makes him fall even more in love with her. but if he had the chance to it over he would do it in an eye blink! I love how Chris knows how handle Claire when she starts to melt down or freak out! which she does alot of in this book.
I also love the relationship she has with Chris's mother Jackie. even though she is upset with her for what she did to her son and her...she forgives her as any mother would do...love you unconditionally...mistakes and all...& i love that...because up until she broke up with Chris....they were her rock. That's why i have such a hard time with Claire in this book!

I kind of feel bad for Adam...but not to much. for me...he just happened to come in at the wrong time...I also find it hard to believe that you can love someone just after knowing them only 3 months. I think it's more of infatuation and lust...in the beginning...and it works it's way up to love over time.
after everything Claire had been through with keeping the baby a secret ...then giving up the baby. The timing just doesn't add up to me in the love department with Adam...more of a rebound if you ask me.
in this book the baby is a couple of months old!
ok...so Chris and Claire broke up a year ago...out of that year...she was pregnant & still madly in love with Chris. she had 2 months alone after having the baby...then she meets Adam and they are together for about 3 months. I don't know... I think Claire needs to really think about what she is doing with Adam. 4 yrs and a baby with Chris plus chris's mom that she considers her mom and only family. vs. 3months with Adam...yes he brought her back from a bad place... But... to me....she never got over Chris. she was more upset & Embarrassed with herself for what she did to Chris & she is just running & pushing Chris away!

also too...Adam had alot to deal with in this book...alot of choice's he had to make. and i think so early in the relationship with Claire...he was thinking more of himself then Claire. he was very jealous & he definitely showed his bad side...I felt he couldn't handle what what going on in Claire's life and took the easy way out...I'm not going to go too much into that...you have to read the book to find out....

Over all....I loved this book! and I cant wait to find out what happens in the next book!!! I really hope she pick Chris!! I'm a sucker for first loves!!! and in my heart...I know Chris is the one!!
    sorry Adam lovers....

”You put some kind of love spell on me with your wicked dance moves and now I need you like Paula Deen needs butter, or insulion, or whatever.”

OH DEAR GOD Pieces of You by Cassia Leo just What the Hell, what did she just do to me. Oh I know it was a emotional roller coaster that left me crying, laughing and you want to know why it’s called Pieces of You. Because that’s what she does, she literally takes pieces of you and claims them as hers. I was lucky enough to be given a ARC and I cannot express how thankful I am because this story was one that I could not wait to get my hands on.

    “I’m alittle star struck,”

Ok how do I start this ….. Oh the boys, you know the boys Adam and Chris. Claire loves Adam and Chris loves Claire and Claire loves Chris and Adam Loves Claire. See what is going on here and remember in Relentless when everyone was all Team Adam, Team Adam well let’s just say Chris got the memo and he decide to show his Team Chris Cards and this girl was all Team Chris, where’s my sign!!

”Have you seen some of the signs those girls are holding out front?”

“Nope. I’ve been warming up. We’re about to warm up with a few songs then they’ll open the doors.”

“You should really go see those signs. They’re kind of gross and fascinating all at once.”

Ok now that I am warmed up, I have to say this book was more then I was expecting and I can honestly say I am so proud of Claire! The girl has come a long way from Relentless. She is growing up and she was so strong, so brave, so honest, and oh my was the girl completely torn. Seriously though what girl wouldn’t be. We all met these two boys in Relentless but in this book we really got to know them.

    Let’s start with Adam,

“Do you believe me when I say that I would never do anything to hurt you?”

“Adam, you’re not hurting me, you are killing me right now.”

Adam still is sexy as hell and he still has his cheesy sense of humor that melts my heart, but Adam made me want to shake him in this book, he made decisions that literally had me saying WTF I am going to kick your ass. But in the end Adam is a sweetheart, he is like the favorite sweatshirt that you always want to wear, yeah, warm fuzzies all over from this boy.

    “Olive you forever.”

    And then there is Chris,

“Christopher Michael Knight,” Jake booms into the microphone in his deep voice. “Get your sexy ass on this stage.”

That is Chris, perfection!!! He was amazing throughout this whole book. We never got a chance to really know him in Relentless but in Pieces of You let me just tell you the boy made sure I couldn’t forget his name! I love how he took control for Claire, I loved that he didn’t let Claire shut him out, I loved that he was a badass Rockstar and he knew how to use it. The one thing I wasn’t ready for was the emotion he gave me, the way he bared his soul. He literally took my breath away and left me standing there saying. . . .

“I’m so lost. This is wrong.”

This book was absolute perfection and I could not have written a better sequel and let me tell you this is quite the experience I was crying, I was laughing, I was mad then I was pissed, and then I was crying again and then I was SHOCKED. THANK YOU CASSIA LEO, THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME READ THIS EARLY, THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO ME AS I READ IT AND THANK YOU FOR CREATING CHARACTERS THAT ARE NOW A PART OF ME, YOU AMAZE ME AND PLEASE DEAR GOD TELL ME YOU ARE WRITING RIGHT NOW BECAUSE GUESS WHAT I NEED.

Did I mention there is going to be a third book, one that I have a feeling will be the best thing EVER, oh yes that is happening!!

”What you think that’s funny? What are you twelve.”

    “I need some serious therapy.”

Wow!! I really really enjoyed the continuation of Claire, Chris and Adam's story. Is it somewhat of a love triangle you ask? The answer would be yes. You should/need/must read Relentless first as this is not a standalone and of course I highly recommend it. There is also going to be a third book which I need like yesterday Cassia!!.

In Pieces of you Claire is now in college and still together with Adam but unfortunately they are forced apart due to Adam's work.

“Why? Why do you have to leave?” “Because sometimes you have to suffer without the things you want now so you can have everything you need later.”

Claire loves Adam and vice versa but this will be a huge test on their already sensitive relationship.

“Adam, I love you. I’ll wait six days or six years. Whatever it takes. Nothing and no one else matters.”

While Adam is away Claire has to deal with Chris, her ex, and their past. They were together longer than Adam and Claire were, as well as being each other's first love, so it is completely understandable that she loves and cares for him too! They share a history and a whole lot more. Chris is also a rock star and he wants Claire back.

His lips curl into a smile and I have to remind myself of all the ways we’ve hurt each other so I don’t melt in the middle of the corridor.

Both of these men are hot in their own way but I will tell you up front I am Team Adam all the way! I can't help it, there was just something about Chris that bothered me and I don't think he is the right one for Claire but he does and knows just what to do.

Needless to say as time passes on things become more difficult for Adam and Claire so he does what he thinks is best for her and breaks her heart *insert me yelling nooooooooooooooooo here* you big dumb idiot! He broke my heart too :'(

This book pulled on my heart strings and I teared up at times. They both love Claire so much and it is really hard for the both of them. Even though I don't think Chris is what Claire needs doesn't mean I didn't feel anything for him.

“How can you still love me after everything I’ve done to you?” “How can I not? You’re the fucking love of my life. You don’t stop loving someone just because they’ve hurt you. Yes, what you did hurt me, but I gain nothing if I stay angry with you. But I might gain everything by forgiving you. You’re my everything. I just want you back.”

SEE what I mean. I also felt for Claire and everything that she has been through. It was weird because she frustrated me but at the same time I totally understood her behavior and actions. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book. I highly recommend this series and I want you to read it and experience Claire, Chris and Adam's world. It is a wonderful series.

Cassia Leo writes from the heart about very realistic situations, in my opinion and you won't be sorry reading her books. She is extremely talented and aside from all that, she is also a beautiful person!

I will leave you with one last quote and a bit of mystery as to who says it? I'll never tell!! You have to read it to find out ;0)

You’re mine, and a piece of you will always belong to me the same way a piece of me will always belong to you.”

Can I give more than five stars???
I love the Shattered Heart Series. Relentless drew me right in- Adam and Claire seem perfect for one another. Then we learn Claire's secret. And we meet Chris- the one she pushed away to follow his dream. I was FIRMLY Team Adam at the end of Relentless, but after reading a few teasers my loyalties started to sway.
Days after finishing Pieces of You and I am still sputtering. I believe they all need some time to themselves, but I want them all to be happy. I am so disappointed with Adam- but if his actions bring Chris and Claire back together then maybe he is the hero?? He needs to mature and should have had more faith in Claire.
Now I know everyone is furious that Team Chris is gaining- but Claire even admits he knows exactly how to kiss and touch her and she reacts to his attentions. She does love him. She knew him as a friend first- and their history is not going away. Was she wise to push him away and keep secrets- of course not. But I think I can see that they have unfinished business together that she needs to resolve- and once that is done maybe she will be able to choose.
The alternating three person POV was awesome, allowing me a better insight into all of the characters. Again making me love Chris a bit more.

I think for now I will remain Team Claire- and hope she can get her self together and really understand where her heart is leading her. I think we are in for some more roller coater fun from Cassia Leo- and I can't wait!

I give this a 3.5 star and struggle with wanting to give more because I loved the first book so much. I adored Claire and Adam's relationship and missed it so much in this book. I like Chris but Claire seems more light hearted when she is with Adam. I get her pull to Chris but I wanted to strangle her for not waiting on Adam. There were several times she reminded me of Kiera from Thoughtless. This book had a little too much angst for me. I still really enjoy the writing and really feel pulled to these characters, the scenes, and the story. Its weird to say but I almost want a little more something from Claire. I feel everything from the boys but I can't get a real read on her. I guess maybe thats ok with her confusion over the boys. Again love this series just wanted a little less saddness and back and forth. I will certainly be reading the next book.

  • Melissa

What the F was that ending?Seriously,I hope the next book is getting released soon. I'm left wanting to throw my Kindle at the wall..I hope claire wakes up and puts her big girl panty's on!I seriously hope she catches Chris with one of his groupies.I want her to open her eyes to what Adam has done for her and the unconditional love he gave her from day one.He sacrificed his future for their love.Chris on the other hand kept on with his plans for himself, never including Claire until now.Too late Chris.I hope you loose this battle............God I need this book released sooner.. This was a great book but I don't love being left feeling pissed off and wanting to seriously smack some sense into Claire.I mean really smack her....I am totally team Adam all the way.Nothing can change my mind.....Nothing!!!!

** ARC provided for an honest review **

    Holy SHIT guys. H-o-l-y s-h-i-t.

Could this series have gotten any better???????????? And let's please talk about that damn cliffhanger at the end??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was SO UNFAIRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! My eyes were bulging out of my head when I realized that there were no more pages to turn. The wait for the third book in the Shattered Hearts series will be excruciating!!!

I finished Pieces of You last night after spending most of the day reading and as soon as I read the last page, I knew that it would be a story that would forever be stuck in my brain. I was literally pacing around my house venting to my hubby about what happened and about how confused I am about Adam and Chris.

Firstly, I realized that I really love books that involve a love triangle. I just feel like it makes a book way more stressful and keeps me at the end of my seat and confused (in a good way). When reading Relentless, I was so happy that Claire had found a man that could heal her and make her stronger. Adam was really persistend and I found it amazing how he was so supportive of her decisions and her past. He had issues of his own so they were both there for each other, supporting each other.

But then, surprise, surprise, Chris comes back into the picture and I instantly had a change of heart. I knew that in Pieces of You, Chris would step up as a man and redeem himself in any way he could.

Pieces of you is the continuation of Claire's story of heartbreak, life-changing decisions and love. After all of her and Adam's secrets are revealed, the couple believe that their love can overcome anything. When Chris, Claire's rockstar ex-boyfriend comes back into the picture after finding out Claire's secret, Claire and Adam's relationship is really put to the test. Can Claire and Adam's love survive the bumps that are about to be heading their way?

    WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!

I am so overwhelmed by this story. I was so anxious to get my hands on this book and I was SO HONORED when Cassia offered me an ARC copy. I am truly honest when I say that Cassia did an amazing job on this story. She kept it going in a way where it only got better and more interesting. The plot never died down and I was always at the edge of my seat reading as fast as I could to get through the story and see what's next. The writing was perfect and steady. The dialogues were understandable and not confusing. There were no typos or awkward sentences. The lingo used was really easy to understand. It wasn't a short story but wasn't too long either. I REALLY loved the different POV and was VERY happy when we got to see more Chris. It was very interested to be able to read in each of their minds. I was so into it and it was a bitter sweet feeling though because I never wanted it to end!

Claire... Usually, I can relate and get attached to male characters better than the female ones, but in this case, I felt so attached to Claire. Contrary to other female leads in books, she wasn't annoying or too self-conscious, and I like it when a woman is strong! Claire was the definition of strong. After all she had been through, she was still able to live day by day and face all of her challenges head on, whether that included school, Adam, Chris or the baby... I was really proud of her and that's what made me understand her. The only negative thing I have to say about her is that I find it very irresponsible that she hid such a big and IMPORTANT secret from Chris. He had the right to know. She was really confused and was a ticking time bomb when it came to the baby. She could have definitely reacted in better ways but I guess that she was still tainted by the traumatic events that happened in her life.

My mom told me that sometimes being alone is more desirable than being in a roomful of people who aren't there. I thought I understood what she meant by that, but it turns out I didn't really understand it until now." - Adam

Adam... He is really a sweetheart. I understood his motives to a certain point but he made some stupid decisions at the wrong time. Although I believe that he made the stupidest decision at one point, he never ceased to amaze me. He was supportive, sweet, understanding, the whole 9 yards. Even though Claire had an insane amount of baggage, Adam was still there for her and loved her so deeply.

With his busy schedule and him being far away for school, it got hard for him to fully be there for Claire when she needed him. Claire and Adam had only been together for a few months so when Chris came back into the picture, I knew that things would only get harder... and so they did.

Chris stole my heart. Even though he is a rockstar with a LOT of money, he is down to earth and humble. I never doubted for one second that he still loved Claire. Just by the way he would think and talk about her proved that Claire still owned his heart. I felt for him when he found out about the baby and the way he handled things was amazing. He was determined to prove himself to her and mend her heart in a way only he could and I found myself cheering for him.

"Claire, I love you and I just want you to be happy."

...."How can you still love me after everything I've done to you?"

"How can I not? You're the fucking love of my life. You don't stop loving someone just because they hurt you. Yes, what you did hurt me, but I gain nothing if I stay angry with you. But I might gain everything by forgiving you. You're my everything. I just want you back."
    - Chris

"The year we spent apart was the worst year of my life. The years we were together were the best. Your face and your words are entangled in every one of my happiest memories. You're a part of me that I can't let go. I refuse to let go. I'm not myself without you." - Chris

I find that Pieces of You was really Claire and Chris' book instead of Claire and Adam's. Even though Relentless was about Adam and Pieces of You is technically the continuation of their story, Chris came in and invaded the storyline. I really hope that him and Claire end up together. To me, it's the only thing that makes sense. #TEAMCHRIS all the way!

In the end, Pieces of you deserves more than 5 stars! It was an amazing read and I'm really honored that I got the chance to be one of the first person's to read it. I hope that my review does this book justice.

    4.5 stars!!

OMG, I so enjoyed the continuation of the story that is Claire, Adam and Chris. You must have read Relentless first as this is the 2nd book in the series, there will also be a 3rd book, which I am now dying for!

Well, hmmmm what can I say…I am in a bit of a quandary with this…trouble is I like both Adam and Chris…they each have their redeeming qualities and their not so redeeming qualities…both love Claire…and Claire loves them both too, but for totally different reasons. This is not a love triangle per se as Claire does not cheat on one or the other…however, she is in a relationship with Adam but Chris is on the periphery using everything he can in his ammo to try and win her back…a first love is always a dangerous love, especially when they have a child together.

Claire has gone back to college and is still in her relationship with Adam..once again they are totally intense and madly in love with each other…however, they now have the extra strain of Adam’s job as they are 100’s of miles apart and don’t see each other as much as they would like. Adam agrees to take a job in Hawaii as a last job for his father, which would also mean the release of him from his services so that he and Allie can be together. 3 months is a long time to be apart and can their relationship stand this test also bearing in mind that Chris is there trying to worm his way back into Claire’s affections??

Whilst Adam is away, Claire has to deal with Chris and the open adoption. She keeps him at arms length as much as possible but he tries all the tricks to break her down. He was her first love so they will always have that connection however, there is something at the back of mind that thinks that he is hiding something. He seems to have changed, but why would Claire not have told him in the first place about something so important, there must have been a reason (other than his career) that she felt that she couldn’t and she went through it alone. Therefore, I feel that she has an even better connection to Adam…Adam is more her soul mate, he found her when she was down and brought her back up again, made her feel, made her love and live again…therefore TEAMMMMMM ADAMMMM!!!

…..and then Adam does something so utterly stupid that I had to take a breather….I screamed at him, I shouted and I tossed the kindle and turned it off!!! I was that peed off!!! Whilst he thinks he is doing what is best for her, he isn’t (the dumb idiot) and all he does unwittingly is pushes her towards Chris argggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Cassia Leo’s writing is heart wrenchingly beautiful…very emotional and very talented…you cannot help but fall in love with the characters even if you are not routing for them..

I cannot wait for the next book…I so want Adam and Claire to get their HEA but it is all up in the air…who gets the girl???

As for the title of this book, I will leave you with this quote…
“You’re mine, and a piece of you will always belong to me the same way a piece of me will always belong to you” and sigh!!

Even I can't believe ho fast I read this one, is it even remotely possible to do so? Well I did it but a small confession, I kinda skipped most of the Adam parts. I can't still get my heart to truly like him.

So I'm not who you call a lover of love triangles. Simply hate them. I always think how the hell those girls manage to get two hot boys after them when I can barely get a boy notice me? Oh yeah maybe I look like a hippie who came out of some alien planet.

What can I say about this book? I'm kinda confused. First thing I loved the fact we get CHris's POV but then again my heart broke a bit for Adam too. I know I said I can't connect with him before, it still stands true but still I felt genuinely bad for him. Claire did pull a bitch move on him by I can't seem to hate Claire even. She seems to be confused. Adam's not a bad guy and all his actions show that his completely in love with her but then again a nagging part always tells that he is just not the guy for her. As long as Chris is there, Adam can never be the guy for her. I distinctly remember comparing these three to Lily, Ryle and Adam but I take it back. At one point it was easy to hate Ryle but not Adam cuz he just tries so hard to stay with Claire but all the moves just seems to be not good enough. Compared to everything Chris tries.

Also can we talk about that ending? What the hell Claire. You annoyed me the teeensiest bit there. Make up your mind girl. And soon too. I just feel bad for both of them. Mostly Adam cuz I know Claire most probably will end up with Chris. She just have to. Anyway I won't go on so much here about them. I'm just gonna sleep now before I barge headfirst to the third and the fourth books. Boy aren't I glad I didn't start the series without all the books. Also my ear hurts like a bitch after getting my second set of piercing. I 'get how people get tongue piercing. God it must hurt .

Oh my. This book. I thought my heart was a mess after reading Relentless, but I think it's safe to say that this book made my tummy and my heart ache. When I had finished the first book, I had been impatiently waiting on Pieces of You. I wanted...no...needed to see what was going to happen with Chris entering the scene. Having Chris there, certainly caused some drama for Claire. My emotions were all over the place, so I think it's safe to say that this book gave me what I wanted.

Since I didn't post my review of Relentless on the blog, I feel like I can do a bit of recap about the characters. When I first met Claire, I felt the sadness and the weight of "something'' that she carried on her shoulders. I wanted to know more about this wounded person. Not only did she intrigue me, but I grew to like her very much. Claire has had some difficult choices to make and given her past, I think she did what she thought was best. That's not saying I agree with those decisions, but I did understand where she was coming from. And I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. In this book, Claire faces a new set of challenges now that Chris is back. Yes, Chris wants her back, but there is a tie that binds them too. Chris truly is trying to make things right with Claire. It is easy to see why Claire fell in love with him. However, I think that Claire and Adam found each other when they both needed comfort and acceptance. They too face challenges in this book. The distance, insecurities, and jealousy all play a part in the obstacles they face as a couple.

I'll go right ahead and say that I am firmly Team Adam. As we learned in book 1, Adam is a deep thinker and he too has experienced some pretty traumatic things in his life. They've shaped some of the choices he felt he needed to make too. When I first met him, I thought he was this fun, goofy, intuitive guy. And I was right. I also fell in love with him. I saw that he was a complex character. I also believe that his love for Claire is sincere. Even though they've only been together a short time, I do think that they fell in love. I will say that I was a bit concerned about Adam being so far away from Claire just as things are becoming chaotic for her, but in a way...I think they both needed the test. I think that Claire needed to see that he would be true to her. I don't mean, just faithful, but that he would come back to her. Don't get me wrong, there were times that Adam made me mad in this book, but in the end, my initial feeling and thoughts about Adam were still the same. I love him and I love Adam and Claire together.

Chris. Ok listen, I get the Chris appeal. I have a fetish about Rock Stars. I also have a soft spot for first loves. And yes, Chris was there for Claire when she was younger. He was the first person she loved and the first person she trusted with her heart. I got that and I appreciated it. It also helps that he is sexy too, but I still feel like their time has passed. Chris definitely works hard to gain Claire's trust and affection back in this book and I have to say that I liked it. However, I found myself a bit angry with him that he was just now trying to win her back. I get the fact that he was focused on his career...with Claire's insistence! But, I also feel like if she was truly the one he wanted to share his life with, he could have gone after her in the first place. They could have found ways to make their relationship work even though he was just becoming famous. I really do like Chris, but I don't think he's right for Claire anymore. They can't erase their past, but I do believe that they can stay in each other's lives in some way.

Overall, I loved it. I liked this one a tad bit more than the first one, because we get to see all three POV's. I felt like I got to know each character a bit more and understood where their heads were at. This series deals with some pretty heavy life issues and it appears that Claire will continue to face more in the next book. Where things stand now...I'm curious to see who will be by her side. If you like reading heavier issue romances, check this one out. There are some teary moments, but also some great SWOON!

    stop by
www.shhmomsreading.com for a chapter teaser of Bring Me Home - book 3 in the Shattered Hearts series scheduled for release in August!

*Please note that you MUST read book 1 – Relentless first before you read Pieces of You!!!*

I started Pieces of You following Relentless and am immediately catapulted back into the life of Adam, Claire and Chris. They have become so dear to me in this short period of time that I have known them and I feel for them in a way that I have not felt for others in a series of books before. I was privileged to have helped organize this blog tour for Cassia Leo. I have never met such adamant fans who so strongly support either Adam or Chris and who have felt what I have felt since day 1 – that Cassia Leo is an AMAZING author who writes emotions and feelings so well that we have all fallen in love with this special cast of characters and don’t want to let them go.

You have already read from the previous stops on this tour what this book is about. So I won’t sum it up for you again but will instead tell you more about how I felt while reading this book.

In Relentless, I was an Adam lover. He saved Claire from a dark place, he told her corny jokes and made her laugh - he was good for her…he reminded her that life was worth living and that you should enjoy every moment. Also in Relentless, we are introduced to Claire’s ex – Chris. He and Claire grew up together in a foster home and had an undeniably strong bond and connection. Though Chris is from the past, there is a love there that is so strong and deep that it is immeasurable and boundless.

In Pieces of You, the story is again told in the 3 points of view which I enjoyed because I love hearing everyone’s thoughts and feelings. And though I loved Adam for Claire in Relentless, as I read more and more about Chris, I fell in love with him as a person – not only because he wanted to help her and protect her but because he would go leaps and bounds to make the world turn for her. He is sweet and every time he calls her “babe” my heart just melts even more for him. Because I know he loves her with his whole being. And I am not saying that Adam doesn’t because I know in his own way that he does…Adam is a great guy but he is not the guy for Claire in my opinion.

No one can really say what they would do in Claire’s shoes. She has had a tough life starting from her youth until now. Dealing with these heavy issues at such a young age would cause anyone to go a little crazy. Claire has dealt with it in the best way she can to this point with the support of her best friend Senia, Jackie and of course Chris and Adam. And though people will have their opinions as to who Claire has to end up with, in my heart and mind, I just want her to end up with who will make her the happiest, who will complete her life and make her whole again…the person who will bring her home.

So yes, Cassia Leo has done it again and created such an amazing cast of characters that you don’t really know who to root for because you want a HEA for everyone. I can’t wait until Bring Me Home releases so that we can finally see how it all turns out for them.

So thank you Cassia for being such an amazing author and person. I am proud to say that I know you even better than before and that you are one of my favorite authors of all time and I look forward to continuing to help promote your wonderful books and writing in the future!

Job well done! Enjoy this special chapter teaser from Bring Me Home scheduled for release in August!

'This aint our last goodbye. It's our last hello. I can feel it in my shattered heart; all through my weary bones. You're the missing piece, the final scrap. Someday we'll fit together; someday I'll bring you back.'

    My thoughts

I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley, alongside the first and third in the series. I really enjoyed the first book, so I wasted no time in getting stuck into this one. The ending of the first book made it impossible not to read this one right away, so I was lucky that I had the second book ready on my Kindle.

If you haven't read the first book, I strongly suggest you read that one first, as it's really important to setting up the story in this book.

In the first book, Claire falls hard for her new neighbour,Adam. Although she at first has doubts about him, and tries to push him away, it doesn't take long for her to fall for his charms. But Claire was holding onto a painful secret,

When this secret comes to the surface, it damages the bond between Adam and Claire, making things especially difficult for Adam, with Claire's ex-boyfriend back on the scene.

This book was told through alternating points of view, between Claire, Chris, and Adam. I found this interesting, as the first book was only told through Claire, with Adam being a mystery. Seeing everything through Chris and Adam's eyes, alongside Claire, was great, as I could really get an insight into their characters, and how they were affected by Claire.

Claire is incredibly conflicted; she loves Adam, but the love she feels for Chris is different, and powerful. He knows her better than anyone, he's her best friend, and he knows just what she needs. This of course makes thing very hard for Adam, knowing that while he's away from Claire for two months, she's spending time with Chris.

Unfortunately, this uncertainty between Adam and Claire, only seems to make things easier for Chris, as he's there to comfort her when she needs him. He doesn't hesitate when his chance to win her back arises, and Adam could lose Claire forever.

I really enjoyed this book and it didn't take me long to finish it. I loved the alternating points of view, and I can't wait to read the next book. This was a great page-turner, suitable for all Romance lovers.
