3.5 stars for me
Slightly better written than the first one, by the time I got to the end of this book I was really intrigued with direction the story was going. I love the idea of crazy religious people using the apocalypse to build a cult-like following. (Actually have one of those stories in the works myself.) I get a little more why the author had to make the characters brother/sister, although it would still make me feel a little less creepy if Gideon had been adopted at an older age. Still, I think the pastor character has potential be super-creepy and one of those characters that you just love to hate.
Interested to see where the next one goes. Just wish these were a tad longer since 80 pages (on my ereader) takes me about thirty minutes.
