Being the oh so clever reader girl that I am, I figured I knew where this story was going. But it pretty much veered away from the obvious expectations, much to my delight. Fun, sweet and charming, I had a blast with this story. Plus it features the most awkwardly excellent love triangle ev-ah. And I generally hate those things. My one tiny quibble was that

First of all I just have to say that I love the title of this book. It made me smile every time I saw Screwing Mr. Melty‘s cover on my Kindle carousel.
The three main characters Jason, Audrey, and Max all alternate between sweet, funny, and insanely crazy. It’s the perfect balance to create a wonderful romantic comedy. Not to mention there’s one hell of a twist that links these three together.
Jason is a caterer who loves his food natural and not processed, like Mr. Melty’s ice cream is. Oh, and he’s definitely not quiet about how he feels. Add on the fact that he’s scorned a few women with influential parents and the fact that he can’t seem to keep his mouth shut when he should and it’s easy to see how this guy keeps getting into trouble.
“…I’ve still got some laxative back home and I know where all the Mr. Melty stores are around here.”
Audrey is a twice divorcee who isn’t quite sure if she wants a full-time man in her life. No strings attached and absolutely no complications is more like it, but sometimes that isn’t exactly what happens. With one man wanting more from her and one just wanting in her pants it leads her on an interesting ride until she discovers what it is she truly wants.

Max is Audrey’s first ex-husband and the owner of Mr. Melty. He kind of reminds me of a giant kid. He may be pushing sixty, but the things he does is beyond childish. And completely funny. I mean seriously…vandalism at sixty. Oh and yes, there is this little issue with a stapler that had me laughing so hard I was crying.
Screwing Mr. Melty is the perfect book to lighten your spirits and put a smile on your face.
My Favorite Laughable Moment: Definitely, hands down, the stapler incident. -
This fun, lively story alternates among 3 points of view, Audrey, Max, and Jason, each with a connection to the Mr. Melty Ice Cream franchise. All of the characters are flawed, but very likeable: their dreams, motivations, struggles, and irritations are written with sympathy and humor. It was fun to witness the same interactions from different points of view and to watch the characters and relationships grow and change. The writing is smart, funny, and witty and the pace moves briskly, never feeling plodding or overdone. Plus, there’s lots about ice cream (sometimes strange and wonderful flavors) - yum!

This was a little crazy a plot for me. I did enjoy the characters. Not sure if I would read more from this author. -
I hardly ever read fiction or romance books, but this book was really well written and leaves the reader wanting more! (In a good way)
