The Horse Who Lived Upstairs Reviews
-
A book about being content with where you are written in the 1940's. Simply but pretty, vintage illustrations (some color, some black and white). Joey the horse is discontented with city life and dreams of living in the country until he gets his chance and finds out it's not everything he imagined. He is grateful to return to the city. Good story about things not always being what they seem and to not compare your situation with others. I always like the New York City theme.

My favorite children's book. if you can find it, definately get it. The grass isn't always greener.

Phyllis McGinley is one of my favorite authors for both childrens' stories and her adult writings.
