5 Hot as hell stars!
I'm going to refer that to the entire series! Now, that being said, I was like this, ON REPEAT, the entire series.
James pissed me off in almost every turn. He was an idiot. How did he not realize what he was saying/doing every time?! Whether it was talk about his porn shots. Hugging girls he had very nasty sexual contact with during movies, and excitement to be Man of the Year. When you love someone you don't do the shit he did the entire relationship. Problem with that though, there was no doubt he loved the shit out of Lola. She is definitely one of a kind and the bond they have was never able to be or will ever be broken. She has stood behind him, comforted him, and praised him since they were younger and became friends and he returned it tenfold. They were meant to be. Although I couldn't comprehend how easily she dealt with things. I COULD NEVER DEAL like she did. The countless scenes and women off set he engaged with, so dang gross yet the sex was hot and there was plenty, very detailed. I must say in his defense. He never cheated on her. She was his world.
From what I gathered, James had the goods to deliver. Not a problem there. It's just everybody from his school days and porn days had it. Poor Lola. But that shows how deep they loved each other from friends to lovers. They face a few obstacles in this read but they are united. I felt this ended so abruptly though. Now I understand the dislike when there's no epilogue.
I just can't help myself, I love the porn star that is broken James! He was just clueless but had so much love to give Lola and I fricken loved him! -
James and Lola are back! Now that they have established themselves as a solid couple, they need to face their families and move forward with their new life together. One great thing about the two of them is that they are a non-drama couple. James always treats Lola with the utmost respect, he never says anything insulting or cutting to her and he never gets mad at her so he doesn't have a reason to raise his voice or shout like couples do when they argue. They don't really even argue except to discuss openly and to hash out their feelings because honest communication to James, even if Lola is upset, is preferable than being shut out. He's just not the kind of guy that gets off on being the boss in the relationship because Lola is really the driver even though she isn't into power play either. They have a very equal dynamic that shows how strong the underlying friendship is. I love this about James because while he is this hot and sexy package of a man on the outside, a renowned porn star and has all kinds of sexual experience under his belt, he is completely content with being vanilla with Lola and he is a true good guy with a big heart and romantic on the inside. He doesn't give Lola reasons to feel insecure about his love for her because he knows how lucky he is to have someone like her and he doesn't take it for granted. Their obstacles have more to do with his previous involvement in the porn industry now that he has retired. Lola is incredibly accepting and understanding of James' past, but she still has reservations because that past can't be changed and it will always follow James because he's a household name and unforgettable in certain circles. Lola wants a normal life and James realizes he does, too. I enjoyed reading about James and his parents and brother because things aren't always what they seem and family can be complicated. Lola's dad was someone I was hoping to catch a glimpse of again, and he does make an appearance, but the outcome is not what I had hoped. The scene where Lola and James spend the first night in their house is hilarious! That is the first time Lola really loses it in a funny way (although not funny to her) and James has to keep his calm to handle the situation. Where they really shine through, though, is how James and Lola act as the pillar of strength for each other when the one of them is feeling exposed and vulnerable, the theme is definitely focused on being devoted. The ending note, I saw that coming, and am eager to see what happens next because while it's a perfectly normal scenario, as we discover with James and Lola, they embrace the normal but it doesn't always come out that way. I love this couple!

Lola and James have been lifelong friends, and are only recent lovers. Lola is a college graduate, while James is a newly-retired porn star. He's still a valuable commodity, however, and makes a good income from his sex toys.
Their impulsive Vegas wedding has caused a lot of trouble for their families, however, and they have capitulated to having the whole shebang back home in Wisconsin so the mothers can gush.
The story really builds on the previous books, but it's still readable as a standalone. There are wedding plans, and new-couple activities like house hunting and building a life together. Lola is still fearful that she won't be enough for James' insatiable appetite for sex, though James is over-the-top in love with Lola. On top of these fears are the very real prejudices they know they will suffer with James' career hanging like a shadow over their lives. As they solidify the wedding plans, it seems a new wrinkle is going to develop, one that's both terrifying and awesome, and leaves a whole lotta plot for the next book.
Plus, James and his father--who kicked him out and shut down communications six years ago when he learned James was a porn star, is finally getting what has been coming to him. I was glad to see some real development in the family strive, and also to watch these two make good choices for their future together.
Plus, lots and lots of smexytimes. James and Lola are so tender and so loving, it's easy to imagine their fairytale love. And fun! I cracked up so many times. Their first night in their new house is...frantic. I died. Looking forward to James and Lola really stepping into adulthood in the next book. Lots of challenges ahead! -
Each book in the series just gets better & more intense.I hope for more character development for Lola at times she comes across as being too clingy,controlling & insecure.She went into the relationship knowingly.James hid no aspect of his porn career from her & since we lived in James head practically every second chapter of every previous book including the current one & his thoughts are only of her to the point of being sickeningly sweet about what a Goddess she is & if he is not thinking of her than he is telling her or anybody in close proximity of how wonderful she is.
Lola needs a job soon because she is slowly on the road to becoming a judgmental shrew with nothing to do other than sit & wonder who her husband is screwing.I predict James is going to need the patience of Job to survive the next chapter of their lives because her jealously & insecurities are going to increase by leaps & bounds & may really drive him to do what he does best.Other than that this is a truly authentic look at romance midst the porn industry.
It's a genius move on the author's part that James remains somehow involved in the porn world where the likes of Tara are going to intensify any forthcoming drama as a result of what we learn in the last chapter of this book. -

I have been a fan of the Vice, Virtue & Video series from the very beginning! I have loved watching James and Lola "grow up" into the adults they are today!
This continuing story, does not disappoint and I'm a bigger fan then before (and was a pretty big fan to start with!)
James put a ring on it and married his cupcake Lola in Vegas in the last book. But now it's time to do it in front of the family. Their relationship grows stronger everyday but they still have their drama, in particular, family drama that needs to be dealt with- James and his father who he has been estranged from for 6 years. But also now that James has retired from the business, what will he do now and how will that affect his relationship with Lola?
It's nice to see Lola being such a calming force for James and the voice of reason and how James is so in love with Lola he'll do everything in his power to make her happy and cherished daily. It gives one hope that the fairytale can possibly come true when you have the love of your life by your side.
The story has a few twists and turns and a wow, didn't see that coming!

Just what I wanted! I was hoping this was where the story would lead us, but once again Bianca Giovanni’s writing style gets us there in such a realistic and creative way. Devoted is book 4 of this enjoyable series, and if you haven’t jumped on the Giovanni bandwagon, you are missing out. Girl can write! Thanks to Giovanni’s writing style and depth of her characters, I truly feel I’ve known this couple for years. I especially love book 4, because it circles back to some James and Lola issues I always had in the back of mind, that needed resolution. Devoted, shows us James and Lola as a united front, now more than ever, but I absolutely love the family moments. I swear I know these relatives and I’m sure that’s why I got teary eyed more than once. Read this series people! Read it in the series order and tell me you don’t walk away feeling like these two are your oldest friends. I wanted to be at her dress fitting, sit at a table with Uncle Pauly, and dance at their wedding, and thanks to book 4, I did all that! Thanks for inviting me Bianca, I had a great time!

ARC REVIEW....I have loved this series since first dance. James and Lola are perfect for one another. I was nervous about what was going to happen when they went back home, especially the outcome with his parents. I was waiting for something dramatic to happen when Lola was dress shopping since Becky was her consultant. I wasn't expecting what actually happened, which is still good. I was glad they decided to get a house and found one they loved. The best part is their first night there. I could understand Lola having doubts about James going back to porn if he were to produce or direct the film's, I mean he did it for years and suddenly he retires because he didn't want it anymore. I was surprised as to Jonathan's behavior the night before the wedding-didn't see that happening. I was surprised what went down at the reception but glad for the outcome. Loved the ending cause I was hoping that was the case. Cannot wait for more.

I missed Lola and James!
They're going through a lot, with the wedding and James's reconciliation with his parents and his improved relationship with his brother.
The sex is hot as ever, maybe even hotter and a bit spicy and I love it. I can't wait for the next since the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger. One could just wonder what's in store for them.
They're too sweet and their marriage was built on a foundation of friendship and genuine love. They're solid, like unbreakable and they're each other's strength. Doesn't anyone wish for something like that? -
If you've been following James and Lola, you know they got sneaky married in Vegas in the last book. But now James is determined to do it right: white dress, rings, family. But Lola is determined to do it right, too, and get James back with his family. (which-UGH! His dad is such a jerk!) Filled with all the same sexiness as the other 3 books, you'll want to read and see what these two kids get up to, now that they are all official!

I still feel the same as I did with the other books.
She's too prudish. She barely attempts to try ANYTHING new. She's so boring in bed. The sex is repetitive because she only wants it vanilla.
She gets upset at him for porn industry stuff but her reasons are stupid. Be upset because you don't want him around other women fucking rather than he might want to go back one day. Maybe you should lighten up a bit and you wouldn't feel that way. He never even gave her any indication he wanted someone else so relax.
She basically tells him what to do because she hates his old lifestyle and he loves her so he concedes. She's a bossy one, not my fav especially since she is so vanilla in the bedroom AND OUT!
Thought this might have been the last book... it wasn't. Don't know when the next is going to be out. Hopefully soon to wrap it up. I don't want too much time to pass and I forget the story.
