Love of Country is a beautiful love story but it is so much more than that. It is the story of two damaged people and their journey towards healing, growth, and self discovery.
Trevor Mackay and Caprice (Prie) Greer have both lived lives filled with tragedy and shame. Even though the meet under dreadful circumstances, their connection is undeniable. What happens when broken souls find one another? Can they mend each other or will their pasts stand in the way of their future?
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Each book has had a great storyline filled with action, suspense, and wonderful characters. This book was a bit different, it followed a different formula, and it totally worked! While it still had an interesting story, it was much more character driven. She focused our attention on Trevor and Prie, who they were and their journey. Green allows us to connect with these characters and truly feel for them. We see them grow and change throughout the book. They felt so real to me and I wanted good things for them, I wanted them to succeed, to heal.
Green did not disappoint with this latest installment and I can't wait to see what she brings us next.

In this book, Trevor finally gets his story. He is such a wonderful guy that you can't help but love him. As we found out in the previous book, he takes care of everyone around him and will stop at nothing to keep those he loves safe. He has had a hard life and wants nothing more than to create a home for himself and settle down. When Prie comes into his life, he can't help but feel pulled to her.

Prie's life has been anything but nice. When she was taken by a madman, she never thought she would be happy again. When he is killed and she is free, she is not sure how to go on with her life. When Trevor asked her to stay with him, she doesn't hesitate to accept. What follows is a truly emotional and heart felt story.

I loved it from the beginning to the end and couldn't be happier with the ending. Both characters are strong in their own way, but each still had to overcome their pasts. I loved watching them grow become the people they were meant to be. I love this series and I can't wait to see what Vicki Green has in store for us with the next one!

This is a good romance story about Trevor and Caprice. They both have had a horrific past. Both have lived through the unthinkable. They never ever thought that they would find their happy ever ever...that was until they found each other.

*I received this book as an arc from the author for an honest review.*

I must say Love of Country was one of my favorite books in this series so far. It was well written with great character development and plot lines. There are things you don't see coming and I had to hold my breath!

I already loved Trevor from A Taste of Country and fell harder fro him in Love of Country. He is a tormented man with a past he is not proud of and is full of so much love to give he does not know what to do with it.

Caprice is a sweet girl who was dealt an awful hand and is trying to pull it together and start a new. With no one left in the world she starts to wonder where her place really is and what she should do in order to be the person she is destined to become.

Together they start to heal each other but sometimes their demons got in the way.

I don't want to give much away but I loved the chemistry between these two and their personalities. Both very old giving souls.

Many times subsequent books in a series are not as good as the first but this even being book 3 was just as good as books 1 and 2 if not better.

Vicki Green did a fantastic job and I hope this series continues. She wrote a very heartfelt and real story that gets to you from the moment it begins.

Love of Country was more than worth the wait. As a huge fan of the series I could not wait for Trevor and Prie’s story. I was immediately pulled in from the very beginning. If you have read the first two books you know that Prie has a truly horrible past but not the complete extent and you also know that Trevor has been dealt his own bad hand, but the more you learn about these two the more you can’t help but connect with them. Vicki Green did an amazing job at writing this story. The story and emotions jump off the pages. The whole time I was reading it was like a movie playing in my head. The details were like she was painting a picture. The emotions were a story all their own. It was like they jumped right off the page into my soul. The heartbreak and sadness had me reading through tears. The happiness was the same way. I cried almost as many happy tears and I did sad tears. I think I felt every emotion known to man while reading this. While this story was about Trevor and Prie you also get to know what is going on with Memphis, Sadie, Colby, and Shiloh. Tina makes an appearance and you also meet a few new characters! Vicki really knocked it out with this one! I highly recommend you read this book! I can’t wait to read more.

I loved this book from start to finish. The pain and heartache both Prie and Trevor have gone through makes you hope against hope that they can pull themselves up and find the everlasting love you know they can have. The pain both of them have endured, both physically, emotionally and mentally is astounding. The fact that they are still standing is a testament to their inner strength. Trevor has gone through some horrible things to make ends meet and he feels that he's not worthy of anyone's love, especially the fragile but beautiful Prie.

What Prie has suffered is beyond words... it would have killed a weaker woman. She has so much healing and growing up to do and wants to do that with Trevor. However, because Trevor feels he's not the man for her, he comforts her but pushes her away at the same time. At one point, we learn a fact that blows us out of the water...wasn't really expecting it and what it does to Trevor makes my heart hurt for him. As we move through the story, Prie discovers the woman she's meant to be.... but is she the woman for Trevor?

Read this latest in the Country Love series, you'll love it and be begging for more!!!

  • For the Love of Books

I normally focus on the male lead in my review but this book grabbed me in a very different way. Although Trevor is a wonderful man, kind, compassionate yet very much still a tough alpha male. Caprice steals the show in my opinion.Caprice is a special girl, I love her. Out of all the women in your books she has shown her vulnerability and subsequent strength the most. She has a place in my heart. Of I had a book girlfriend list she would be at the top. Vicki, you are such a clever author, you always give me what I am not expecting.
You are a master at characterization. I am always able to envisage the characters, you interweave their lives so wonderfully, however that does make us readers even more desperate for the next book.

Well done Vicki this book will be a smash you've really nailed it.

Vicki Green has done it again with her third book in the Country Love series. I was given Love of Country as an ARC and right away you are pulled into the story you get a feeling of how Trevor and Prie’s relationship is going to be from the start. Trevor is you strong male who thinks he needs no help and has to help others. Caprice is a woman you has had a tragic past but you can sense that she is strong in her own right. I love Trevor because I love those strong cowboys who want to take care of you but I really believe the star of this book is Prie. I also love the fact that Vicki still keeps the characters from the other books wrapped in so you can see what is going on in their lives. The way it is written though you don’t have to read the other books to enjoy this story but it makes it more enjoyable if you have. Now to wait for the next country love …..

    Vicki Green does it again!!
    ***** 5 star review *****
Trevor and Prie’s story is amazing.
I find it hard to put into a review the thoughts and feelings I had while reading this book. Both Trevor and Prie have such dark and defeating pasts. The road to recovery isn’t the best road to be on at times, yet these two trudged through and found the sunshine at the end of the road. Hearing Trevor’s story pulled at my heart-strings and made me love his strength even more. What Prie had to overcome and live through was so dramatic and horrible, yet she pulled it together to become a strong outstanding woman. The connection those two shares, the past that stings the heart, the undying love. Amazing read!! Loved it from beginning to end!
I loved how Vicki tied all three books in at the most appropriate places.

    ARC

Love of Country, Trevor’s story, is an amazing and touching read.
I was emotional throughout the story.
From the start up to the last, Ms. Vicki nailed it!
The story started where book 2 left off, but in Trevor and Prie’s perspective.
Trevor, we met him in the previous books but here we will learn more about him.
He's a guy who has a past that he's not yet ready to give up and Prie or Caprice, a woman who grew up in an amazing family but her life changed because of an abusive man.
When the two met, things get interesting.
With all the baggage that the two have and the things that want to achieve for theirselves, the two will learn an important lesson that will change their lives.
    Ms. Vicki nailed it!
I was emotional throughout the story!

Just when you think you couldn't fall more in love with Vicki Greens books and characters.... She brings us Love of Country. Book 3 in Country Love series.
This story I'd about Trevor and Prie. How could two people with such troubled pasts find love? Do they have what it takes to fight their inner demons and make things alright enough to try and make it work?
If you have read any of the the Country Love series you will be happy to read more about some of the characters in this book too. I absolutely love this story. Vicki Green has truly outdone herself. 5/5 stars.

    Another great story!!

There's just no way anyone wouldn't just fall in love with all these loving characters!! The Author does an amazing job at drawing her readers in and making you fall in love with the gorgeous men and want to sit and laugh with tons of girl talk with the female characters. The characters are exactly how the world should be... Loving each other and doing anything to help each other.

Vicki Green has done it again. I absolutely loved this book. It was an amazing read that I could not put down no matter what. The characters are fantastic and you cannot help but fall in love with them, the story will grab you and not let you go until you finish the very last word and it moves along at the perfect pace not to fast nor to slow. This is a fantastic read that I look forward to reading over and over again.

Love of Country is book three of the Country Love series by Vicki Green. It is a really suspenseful book that is not intended for anyone under 18. The graphic sex scenes and the violence described make it totally inappropriate for anyone under 18. The book review on Amazon definitely states this. Perhaps it says this on the book; but I got the Kindle version so I don’t know. It is only through honest reviews that we get this information. Except for those scenes, the book is absolutely wonderful.
Trevor MacKay came to this small town to keep an eye on his friend Shiloh Willson. He had been helping her get free from her captor for years. He also knew she wrote a series of books detailing her captivity and the cruelty of her captor. However, Mikael was dead and Trevor was in the hospital with wounds from the final fight. He also had a “past” of his own which he hadn’t come to grips with. He had done some things he wasn’t proud of and was even ashamed of. Not facing those mistakes was causing nightmares. He wanted to go home to his small farm and forget everything. Although he was very handsome and the ladies really liked him, he never gave them the impression that he would settle down with one of them. The “love of his life” had gone out of it when he was a boy. However, his love for her and the pain of his broken heart made him resolve never to get himself in that position again. He could not take another broken heart.
Caprice Greer was barely sixteen when “he” killed her parents and took her captive. She had already lost her big sister so now Caprice was totally alone. Her captor kept her in captivity for three horrible years when he faced Trevor MacKay and Shiloh Willson and lost his life. Now Caprice was totally lost. Trevor, knowing what Shiloh had gone through with the captor, asked Caprice to come to his house to take care of him when the hospital released him. He felt he could at least listen and help her. Caprice agreed because she felt she owed him for giving her life back to her. Is she making a mistake?
Will Trevor be able to help her or will he simply add to her problems? What will she uncover about the “love of his life” when he finally tells Caprice about her? Will he manage to straighten out his own life?

This is the third book in this series and I wanted to like them more than I did. I loved the cover model on this book and book 2 I think that is why I read them. I don't like giving bad reviews but It was hard getting through all three books. They are repetitive. If I read about the beauty of the land one more time. All three books have almost the same story line. Handsome, caring cowboy, and the damsel in distress. Sometimes the cowboys spoke like hicks sometimes they didn't.
    Everyone falls in love fast.
Except for Colby, everyone has lost one or more of their parents to death.
Wish it was a better review...I love cowboy books but these three books didn't do it for me, "prolly" (that is how the cowboys say probably) won't be reading the next book in this series.
