It's okay. Many of the pictures don't really have anything to do with the text. And the text from time to time presents information in a way that isn't wrong but isn't broadly helpful, either. Yes, we do breathe in oxygen but it's along with many other gases and particles.

I like the glossary with pronunciations at the back, although I'm coming to the opinion that it is better to give the pronunciation on first appearance. Otherwise you get construct a way to pronounce it, and, particularly if you are young and/or if English is not your only language, you get that way fixed in your mind which makes it very hard to learn the correct way later. Not that any adult has ever read a book aloud to their child and gotten to the end to discover they mispronounced everything. Nor has any adult suffered the indignity of having the pronunciation corrected by a child for an entire book of say, dinosaurs. With English "sounding it out" isn't helpful.

So, okay. I hope I find something similar on immunizations, because in the past week I have seen two grown-ass adults, a thoracic surgeon and a nurse, make statements in the news that clearly demonstrate that they don't have the foggiest idea how immunizations work. To be fair, none of us know how most things us work, not really. So how does oxygen get through the alveoli and into the blood? I still don't know. It just does. Perhaps someone will read this and explain it to me.

Your Respiratory System Works! is an informative read with nice photographs and illustrations describing the importance of the respiratory system for elementary/middle school students. The illustrations are clearly labeled and compliment the text well.

This book is comparable to Darlene Stille's, The Respiratory System. The only place it really varies is that it has information on the vocal chords. Interesting little factoids also pop-up on some of the pages (lungs process about 2,100 gallons of oxygen daily, adults have more than 300 million alveoli). Again, this book would be good for kinder through 2nd grade roughly and would benefit from some projects or extension activities.
