Aran (Love Me Harder #1) Reviews

"I can't wait to see what our future holds."

According to the blurb is an alien story... But I guess the aliens in here has no difference with ours except they are big and have beautiful bodies and well endowed... No difference at all because there are humans that possess that too... I guess 😂😊

What's good in this, well its a good narrative without a good storyline. It has a love story without the fire that makes a love continue but there's a lot of s*x. It has drama and action without the story that make it flow... Do you want me to continue???

It's free in Amazon and Play books. So maybe you can give it a try. Then let's compare notes and play doll.... Hahaha 😂😂😂

Aran with his brothers has come to a Earth, looking for a place to belong and for a mate. Human Rena has given up on love and men in general, but when she meets Aran she is delightful surprised in meeting what she thinks is a man, a man who knows how to pleasure her like no one else has been able to.

Aran calling Rena, 'doll' just didn't work, even after the author gives us the reason why, when I started to get a little comfortable him using the term shook me out of the little bit of comfort I was finding - annoyingly so.

The writing at times didn't flow fabulously and didn't help conjure a rich image in my mid. Overall, super underwhelmed and disappointed.

Okay I have to be fair and give this one at least a 3.5* rating..
I liked the premise. I thought it was interesting. I liked the chemistry between the MC's always a good thing. And I liked how you got a glimpse of all of Aran's brothers. Very different males on appearance and personality. Does make you want to come back to see them all in their own story.

What I didn't like was that the "Beast" within that makes Aran and his family different, wasn't visited upon as much as I feel the story warranted. You just got VERY brief cameos with it. 4 to be exact. Out of the whole novel. If this beast is a big part of Aran's make up, and it is a paranormal story, then we need to see more of it. Details and situations where it's needed to make its presence known. Didn't get nearly enough of that here. Disappointing for me. Also more hotness with the couplings would have been nice too.

Now, I don't know if the Author saw some of the many reviews complaining about spelling and grammar, and went back and changed that, but I did not encounter any of that here when I read this book. So Kudos for changing that. I did however encounter what many reviewers stated that it was hard to know who was speaking to whom in any given scene. This unfortunately was true. You could be in the middle of a conversation and lose track of who is saying what. Which made the writing very choppy and threw you out of the flow of the story. VERY annoying at times. The fact that this was a common theme through out the book was not good. So the physical aspect of the writing needs to be a lot tighter.

But based on the premise, the characters, and the continued on going plot; I would recommend this read. I may give book 2 a try sometime in the near future.

I read this last week, and for some reason my notes didn’t save, so this will be pretty short. Aran is the first book of the Love Me Harder series, which follows alien/sort of shifter warriors that escaped their planet and came to Earth in search of mates. It’s sci-fi, and out there a bit; they are now multi-million CEO business Tycoons that do mercenary work for the government. 🤔

Aran is the leader, and meets 32-yr-old Rena at a company function. They are both immediately smitten, and don’t take long to get down to business. There’s a level of danger/action as someone is trying to kill Rena, because she knows too much, but it's also connected to Aran. This part isn’t super developed; I couldn’t quite grasp where or how one of Aran’s enemies would be connected to Rena’s company. (??) BUT, I guess that will be fleshed out in the future books. It’s totally safe, no real OW/OM drama. Aran is head over heels from hello.

Bottom Line- This was a short (160-ish) easy read that kept my attention for a couple hours, but not enough to continue the series. Maybe if it were part of KU, because the bones were good; the secondary characters (the brothers) were interesting and likeable enough. I wish the “beast” side would have been developed more. In the end, I’m not a huge fan of these ongoing storylines, where you can't pick and choose which books to read. I don’t mind multi-book series that follow the same characters; I just want their individual conflict to be complete, so I can skip if desired.

    Ugh, where do I start?
The first few pages of this book had me wanting to stop reading, nevertheless, I decided to give it a chance and see how it developed. Worst. Decision. Ever.
Let me explain, we part from good enough premises: alien male finding mate yada yada, so I expected a somewhat interesting book to spend my evening with; and I was thoroughly disappointed. It's not as if the plot was that bad - a bit of a cliché? yeah, but not bad- : a female who works in IT meets the sexy as hell CEO of a big company - who happens to be an alien - sparks fly, she discovers a complot in her company, they get hot and heavy, she is threatened and her hot alien alpha male comes to the rescue.
So yeah, a cliché of a plot, but one that could have worked were it not for how catastrophic the dialogue and general writing of the book are. It just felt like it was written by a teenager and not by a published author: some of the dialogues were cringeworthy (which makes itself present at the very beginning of the book with several of Dee and Rena's conversations) and the book itself needed heavier editing (commas and punctuation signs exist, you know? and they need to be used in the right moments). It really annoys me when an author puts a small phrase and then a dot and then another small phrase, which repeated all throughout the book, making reading it not fluid at all - I mean, there's connectors and sh*t like that for something. Not going to enter into the sex scenes, they weren't bad but they weren't fantastic either, that's all I'm going to say.
So, all in all, a deception of a book that has been deleted from my library alongside the rest of the series.

  • GreenFairy

Yet another author who tells and doesn't show. It makes it so difficult to get into a story that way. And there is repetition of conversations. Just using different words. How many times do they need to tell each other that they are single? How many times do they have to talk about the same things over and over again? Editing was atrocious. Normally most authors use too much punctuation. This one didn't use any except for the ending of sentences and dialogue. No commas, semicolons. Anywhere. I found nothing redeeming about any of the characters. No interest in their story. Aliens who came to Earth to find female mates because their own females couldn't handle them? Really? This is the best your mind could come up with? Just sad.

    Not continuing this series.

  • Amber Gatlin

    Like watching a train wreck.

If you can get past the God awful lack of editing, the horrible sexy talk and over use of pet names, then the story isn't so bad. I did even buy the second one. The story has a lot of potential and I'm sure with the help of an experienced editor, this series could be great.

  • Monica

DNF, okay I always try and give Authors the benefit of doubt, especially new author's. This was just bad though. It was very choppy and didn't flow right. The characters seemed to talk in a wrong voice, was just off couldn't finish.

This story had a unique concept that I liked the idea of (the reason for a 2 star rating), but there were so many things wrong with this book as a whole. Starting with flow, it was awful, stop & go thru the whole thing, it really was hard to finish reading this for that reason alone. World building was not good, I was pretty lost trying to figure things out. There were a lot of plot holes, that made it feel more like a rough draft than a finished book. There was a huge issue with wording not making sense in places, editing/beta readers should have caught most of that. I'd be reading along, hit a sentence, or sometimes a paragraph that made absolutely no sense. There were also a lot of mistaken "his" that should have been "her" (or vice versa), & the dialogues didn't flow well, they felt stiff and not like it would actually have felt to be spoken out loud. The POV kept changing (it was not chapter to chapter, sometimes from sentence to sentence, sometimes paragraph to paragraph), which made it confusing to follow who was voicing their thoughts or speaking.

There were some things in the story that just should have been left out, as they did not add to the story in my opinion, & felt like the author just wanted to add to the story somehow whether to make it more bizarre/alien-ish or just to up the story somehow, even if it made no sense to add it in (like the nipple ring things, maybe trying to make this BDSM? or the feeler things on his penis- just too weird to even want to contemplate, just gross in my mind.) The sex scenes were mostly boring & seemed to center on abusing her boobs, her being manhandled -not just rough but to the point of pain/bruising, or the his/her pleasure coming back from the feeler things on his penis.

ALL the characters seemed to change drastically from strong, to wimpy/nerdy attitudes. There was a lot of ideas that helped add to the conflict of character personality. (Example -a warrior bred to kill/fight that plays video games for fun just seemed nerdy not warrior like. I would expect them to train, spar, work out, play at extreme physical sports, not play video games.) I sorta liked Aran & his brothers, but I was not thrilled with Rena or her friend, Dee. Both girls seemed too childish, self absorbed & annoying for 30 some year old women. Their relationship should have been more evolved as best friends, almost as much as the brothers' were. The characters really didn't develop a real personality or evolve thru the story. I would not even consider reading the next book in the series, as I almost did not finish this one. Definitely would not recommend spending money to buy this.

This is an interesting book, with an atypical heroine. It all takes place on 🌎 Earth, where the alien men have escaped to, to find a new life.
Some of the dialogue is hokey and stilted but overall I enjoyed the story.

Read with KINDLE UNLIMITED for an honest review.

What an amazing little novel I read it within a few hours because I was so addicted to this amazing storyline that this author has created for us. This author immediately pulls you into Rena and Aran's amazing story, leaving no room for you not to become addicted to their amazing lovestory.Erotic but definitely amazing.

Rena what a very complicated and difficult woman but so smart and intelligent that you cannot love her .

And Aran holy moly just reading about him makes my mouth water. He is one truly amazing character who when you first read his character has no hope for finding his true love and his mate. But by the end of this story is sure he has.

I absolutely love this author and cannot wait to read more of these books

I have read similar unconventional erotic love stories that I would never thought would appeal to me. Im so trying not let out spoilers but if you love scifi and action mixed with love and erotica this is a must read.

    5 amazing stars

    Rena and Aran, alien beast...

I loved this book. I give this one 5 cups of scalding java, ☕☕☕☕☕. Great story that flowed well between Rena, Aran, and his beast, that had me pulled in from the beginning to end. Great chemistry with them two and quite a bit of Rena's mystery sleuths and some troubles thrown that almost ended bad for her and her best friend in which that part of the story of who's behind all the attacks will continue on into book 2 with Dee's story.

Rena had her insecurities even though she was falling for Arab and knew she trusts him, so that she has her HEA with Aran after things went down. But Rena's best friend, Dee, seems to be troubled by something while Niko, one of Aran's 5 brothers, tries to be with her...

I am definitely following this series to read it all. Go get book 2 and find out what happens with Dee and Niko.

I just couldn't give this first book in the series much more than 3 stars. The writing style is all over the place, and I found myself having to stop and make myself realize that she'd just started a new thought process? It was weird. There are all kinds of editing issues (mostly incorrect words that don't show up in a spell check because they are real words, but not the word that should have been in place). Normally I don't mention on this but it was so frequent my mind started picking them up and remembering. The story is good. I liked the relationship between the characters. I liked the brothers. I liked it enough I'll probably read the next in the series. I don't feel that the author went into the "beast" issue enough, here's hoping she'll get more detailed in the next.

  • Lisa B. Lovely

This book is fabulous. Rena and Aran are wonderful characters. All of Aran's brothers and Dante are introduced and I know they'll all eventually find their mates.

There are a few grammar/editing issues (I'm instead of I am in a couple of spots where I am is correct), but for me who is a grammar fiend I was able to overlook them because the story and characters are so flipping wonderful.

I loved the backstory for Aran and his brothers, Rena's personal growth and the idea of alien's living among us. I've read the series before and loved it, but I felt the need to re-read the whole thing to be sure I was up to date before I moved on to another of her series. I'm definitely a Serena Simpson fan.

    Great read! 4 1/2

Aran and his brothers were created for protecting the planet they came from. Mixed with Animal like Aliens they were the ultimate weapon. When the wars were over and they traveled to earth to find compatible females . Rena is smart, sexy afro American techies. She stumbles onto a conspiracy that threatens her life. The storyline was filled with hot sizzling sex, drama, intrigue and a one in a lifetime love. Definitely recommend this series.

    Wow

I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but I was really surprised by the quality of the story. This isn't one of those half assed free sci-fi books that is so completely unbelievable you just kinda sit there hoping it gets better. Nope there is actually a story, some mystery some hot romance. The characters are flawed, but beautifully written. Overall I'm impressed and looking forward to Niko's book next!

  • Heather G

    Science fiction romance

I wavered between two and 3 stars. The story wasn't bad. The world building was lacking. I would have liked a little more information about the Dare brothers.
The dialogue, internal and between characters was strange to me. The jumps in location, time, and who is talking, especially if they were having internal dialogue at the same time, made me feel a bit jumpy.

  • Sherry Westendorf

Love those alien books. This one has a hot alpha male and a female he is after. Then comes in the part that they have to help. And in between is all the other stuff. It keeps your attention and is a good read. It is exciting, suspenseful, sweet, hot and so much more. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

    Aran and Rena

An amazing PNR story. She’s a special type of girl. Never having found the right guy she’s disheartened but hasn’t quit looking. He’s from out of this world—literally. He’s looking for his forever Mate. Assuming they both survive they could be exactly what each other needs. Very well written and a joy to read. Good stuff overall.

  • Sharon Ryder Roberts

I liked the large "Aliens" who can crush anything... Aran, is a softy who worries about doing just that when trying to love a woman from earth where they have all made their homes on... Liked the plot so far, but this novel leaves you needing answers. Also it leaves you on a cliff hanger... such a shame.

  • Jacque

    Awesome read!!

This book was awesome! Full of sizzling romance, suspense and action; I couldn't put it down... When it ended I bought Nico's. Can't wait to see what happens with Dee and Nico...
