Well, where do I begin ? I laughed a lot when I read this book. I think it is worth reading this book for laughs and for some issues which are tackled and handled well.

This book had some winning parts and some really annoying parts who brought down the rating! But generally it was a pretty decent read.I bought this book under the kindle first offer. I would have rated this book a lot higher if the childish drama had been cut down or handled differently. The childish bits didn't match because the author took great care to make everyone more 3 dimensional and added depth challenging issues like extra marital affairs. The author shaped Adam really well and gave great characterization to him.

Basically, Jenna decides to let loose and have a one night stand with Adam (who Jenna has never met or seen in picture before) who happens to be the ex husband of her best friend, Mia.

Adam also happens to be consultant hired by Jenna's company. Jenna's company has strict about not dating in the workplace and therefore agrees not to date or see Adam anymore. But of course they do keep seeing each other and their attachment to each other stars growing. Jenna has a hard time hiding things from Mia

    What I liked the book:

    - Jenna's aunt Gertie who was the hip and fun filled aunt who has a snarky sense of humor and lives her life to the fullest and she has a secret career.
    - The chemistry and humor shared between Jenna and Adam
    - All the fun kissing and making out sessions. Loved the kiss in the porn shop
    - I loved how the author handled Adam. Mia and Adam were divorced. Mia had an affair and claimed that Adam was a horrible husband. Mia has remarried. But the author did not take sides and gave Adam depth as much as possible. But sometimes I felt it was at the expense of Mia.
    - I also loved some of the conversations between Jenna and Adam.
    - I also loved the part where Jenna stands by Adam during a hard time and it was heart warming.

There is a very important message in this book. Only we are responsible for our happiness. There are some mature life affirming wisdom strewn across the book.

What I didn't like was the unnecessary relationships drama and how Mia was made to be so insecure and childish. I think it really showed that Mia and Jenna didn't have a close relationship and it seemed to be one of those convenient friendships teenage girls would have. It didn't show to be the mature solid friendships grown women would have. What would have helped here ? Better characterization and better communication. Mia could have gotten more depth and shaped better and balanced with other elements.

I didn't get about the walking on eggs shells part. Mia is no longer married to Adam for goodness sake. There were some elements which didn't work at all.

Overall, I would say read it. I enjoyed it! I would look out for more books by this author.

This starts off outstanding. I loved the setup and the background. I particularly loved the conflict and how well Fenske depicts the multiple layers when two people connect strongly before realizing that they have significant complications in place that would put them at odds. Both Jenna and Adam have some serious conflict to work through if they want to be together. And since I totally bought their connection I really wanted to see how they'd get through it.

I particularly liked Adam as a guy whose painful divorce prompted some real character reformation. He went from a work-obsessed lawyer to a conflict resolution consultant after spending a couple years working hard on making himself a better listener and more emotionally stable person over all. So he can't contradict the mean things his ex-wife says about him and can even understand why she might feel even more betrayed seeing that it wasn't enough for him to reform for her sake while they were married but only undertook the change on the pain of actually losing her. I loved Adam's even keel and liked it most when he was so sorely pressed that he frayed and failed sometimes. He was so well-depicted and multi-layered that he almost made the book all on his own.

I only have minor qualms about the beginning and middle. The whole consternation about Great Aunt Gertie writing erotic fiction is the most memorable example. Jenna is all hung up about how the hospital she works at would react to the "scandal" if they found out and I'm all like "wut?" Why should they care? And if they do care and tried to do something about it, Jenna's the freaking PR exec and they'd be giving her a gun pointed at their own heads. But all of that is small beans and I was enjoying the story.

But things shift near the end and went downhill badly. It's not exactly a character shift but it becomes clear that Jenna isn't so much in a bad spot and is hiding facts from various parties because the issues are really complicated and tricky emotionally as she's just a champion avoider who uses lying as the go-to method for dealing with things that are uncomfortable. Not only does she continue lying in the face of certain discovery and the sure knowledge that people are going to be more hurt the longer she keeps it up, but we get revelations that show this as a deeply troubling pattern. So she went from someone I saw as in a pressing situation with tricky emotional depths to someone who is simply an emotional coward who lies because it's easy.

That transition was tough on me and a deep disappointment. I'm still rating this at three stars, but only on the strength of Adam and who I thought Jenna was until the end.

A note about Steamy: There are a couple explicit sex scenes, though Fenske doesn't indulge in details, much. So this is on the low side of my steam tolerance. I really liked some of the intimate moments between Adam and Jenna, actually, and think the details Fenske chose to share were well-chosen.

3 - "Discretion is my middle name." Stars!

I have read a few of Tawna Fenske's books now, and one thing you can always be ensured of is that you are going be be entertained. About That Fling was definitely entertaining, but it didn't quite grab me as much as the previous books I have read by this author have.

I didn't dislike the story, far from it. But whereas it started at a great pace, there are large swathes of it where it almost slows down to a complete stop.

The premise for this one is really good and is ultimately what piqued my interest, how can you not be intrigued by a relationship starting between two people who seemingly have nothing to connect them, to then find out that pretty much everything between them is completely interconnected, with both their work and private lives. As you would expect it caused a few uncomfortable and comical moments for them as a pair, and as individuals, and I really enjoyed getting in both Adam and Jenna's heads as each situation and scenarios played out.

"You've only heard Mia's side of the story."

So how do you deal with the fact that you are falling for your best friends ex husband... How do you work through the difficulties of pursuing a woman that you are working with in a mediatory capacity... These are things the author took and explored extremely well and in a pretty entertaining fashion. I just think the pacing of the book was a little on the slow side, and some of its content definitely could have been reduced in length to keep things moving along at a more steadier pace.

Overall Opinion: I hate rating so low on a book, but it was kind of...boring. I was expecting a super funny and sexy read by what the few reviewers say about it, but it just felt like the humor was too forced and the "steamy" parts that others described where non-existent. It was an Amazon first free book...so I can't complain too much!

Storyline: This is Jenna and Adam's story. They meet at a wine bar when they are both stood up by people they're supposed to meet. They flirt and end up going back to Adam's hotel room for a romp in the sheets. They decide that they want to make it more than a one night stand, and make plans for a date to get to know each other better a week later. They are shocked to learn that they are new colleagues come Monday. Jenna is a administrator for a hospital that is having a battle with the nurses Union, and Adam is a lawyer/counselor that assists in settling corporate disputes. Another roadblock they soon learn is that Adam was once married to Jenna's best friend of 2 years, Mia. They are unable to fight their attraction and end up spending more time together and falling in love. They deal with hiding their relationship from Mia and the hospital that has a no fraternization policy, an elderly aunt that is an author of erotic novels that are hitting the best seller list and is quickly coming to fame, an ex fiancé that is pining for Jenna, and a death of a beloved family member for Adam...but eventually they find their HFN.

POV: This was 3rd person narrative that focused on Jenna and Adam alternately...not my favorite.

Overall Pace of Story: Slow/abrupt-no closure. I felt like I was bored and often skimmed parts, and then there was a crazy abrupt ending to sum it all up.

H rating: 3 stars. Adam. I appreciated that he learned from his failed marriage and tried to better himself for himself, but I found him to be kind of know-it-all when in confrontations of his own.

h rating: 2 stars. Jenna. I would have liked it better if she wasn't so quick to lie to everyone about everything instead of just being honest...not the best quality in a person.

Angst level: Low. I didn't need any tissues. The only drama was there because of the MCs own doing.

Heat level: Low. Fade to black type scenes.

    Descriptive sex: No

Sex scene with OW or OM:

    Cheating:

    Possible Triggers:

Closure: Non existent closure in this one. We get closure with the web of lies that Jenna spun, but no closure for the couple. Lots of questions unanswered and no commitment for the couple whatsoever...not even the girlfriend/boyfriend type label. This is a big contributor to my low rating. I love epilogues that give us a glimpse into the couple's future, and that would've gone a long way with this book since it was such an abrupt ending.

Imagine your cupboards and fridge empty. Your table is set beautifully, and upon it you have chocolate syrup, decadent pasta, ice, & butter. It's like you have all these things that you love, but are missing the sauce, ice cream, drink, and bread that puts it all together for a meal. That's this book!

Writing hate/love reviews is easy, but I absolutely dread writing reviews like this.

    You Think So...

So, the overall plot of a taboo kinda off-limits romance is well done. There are multiple layers, or factors, at play here to keep the MCs in an angsty state of dishevel in their romance. Great!

So, the MCs aren't stereotypical. They can be witty. They have a little dirty, sexy side. Each have some odd, but believable, circumstances surrounding & connecting them. They aren't too far left in Pollyannaville ...nor did they graduate from Narcissistic High. The secondary characters are awesome. I mean who doesn't love a dirty romance, quirky aunt? Great!

So, the technical writing is well done, with few grammatical errors, no huge time shifts, or abundant overwriting of detail. Great!

    So, WTF Is Wrong?

You'd think its a great book, right?

    Well, here's the BUT...

It's a great plot, character line up, and technical writing, BUT it's totally off kilter in presentation.

    Presentation literally kills this book.

The writing texture is flat and dry; I'm talking Sahara here! All these quirky, witty, should be funny, cool moments happen and they're all presented in such a monotone manner that you almost read right over them.

There's no flare. It's all just straight line like you'd read a 'how to' manual on your toaster oven. I should've been laughing my ass off with the convo in the porno viewer, but I wasn't - not because it wasn't a funny scene, but rather because of how the scene was written without any umph.

The characters are disconnected from the scenes. Yes, the scene may be good, but the characters are, again, flat. I keep picturing Dr.Phil and Megan Kelly in these roles... Not good!

    Bottom Line
The author is missing some key ingredients to tie her meal together. Pasta without sauce... Butter without bread... Well, that's just not good reading eating.

Download sample!! Idea of book- 3 stars... Actual book- .5 stars.

Browsing the kindle, I skipped to A - Z and tried to flick but my kindle decided to open this book. I took that as a sign and dived straight in.

I must say having known nothing about this book (my sister bought it as her prime download), I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy this story. I'm not sure what label to put on it so I'll break it down quickly, girl has a one night fling and is considering making it more, when she realises said man is her best friends ex hubby. Throw in work crossover and cue lots of mild angst about how nothing else should happen but they can't seem to fight the attraction.

What worked well - I loved her aunt who was a wildcard. Secret erotic author, trying to get her niece to step out of herself and throw caution to the wind. She merrily meddled in her nieces life to give her a helping hand. The chemistry between Jenna and Adam bounced nicely off the pages, and they had great banter between them. I loved the part when she was friend requesting him on facebook, that made me smile and nod at the mess women's heads are sometimes.

What didn't work for me - well those parts of the storyline that tended to be around Mia. I didn't really find her a likeable character and couldn't really find a reason her and Jenna would have become friends outside of their shared experience. I thought the whole sub story at the end with her hubby and ex wife was needless and a bit unlikely to happen.

If you're looking for a bit of escapist women's fiction, that has a storyline that's slightly different from the norm then I recommend giving this book a whirl.

The book is worth reading for this line alone - sent on Facebook from Adam to Jenna following a wine spilling accident the day before:

'Did you get the stain out of the dress? Incidentally, this is the same message Bill Clinton would have sent Monica Lewinsky if Facebook had been around in 1996.'

    Class.

This was a really cute story. No smut, but sweet romance with great banter.

We have Jenna, who is sort of a crisis manager for the hospital she works for -- she tries to keep bad info about the hospital out of the news. And we have Adam, a former attorney and now sort of conflict manager... he works to help two opposing sides work toward meaningful agreement. He's been brought in to help resolve the conflict between the nurses union and the hospital, only Jenna doesn't know that yet. In a twist of fate, Adam is at the wine bar where he's supposed to meet his new boss, the HR manager for the hospital, but she has to cancel. Jenna is supposed to meet her very pregnant best friend, Mia, but Mia can't make it either. A really cute, short bit of banter later, and Jenna and Adam have an explosive one-night-stand. Or it was supposed to be.

Makes it a bit awkward when their Monday negotiation meeting includes Adam, and Adam realizes his ex-wive Amelia who cheated on him -- and now goes by Mia -- works for the hospital, as well as Jenna. Mia, who is best friends with Jenna. Awkward anyone? Yet, try as they might (or really Jenna's the main one trying), they can't stay away from each other. But Jenna has all these loyalty issues because of Mia, even though Mia was the one to leave. Plus, Jenna's ex-fiance is still in the area and she keeps bumping into him, and he's interested in rekindling. (No, just no.) Plus, Jenna's in-the-closet-erotica-writing aunt, Gertie, is playing matchmaker... so much going on, so much crisis for Jenna to handle in her personal life... things couldn't stay under wraps forever... but they blow up spectacularly. Thankfully, everything ended up working out just fine. This was my first story from the author, and I'd read another. Without Kindle First, I probably wouldn't have known about it/her.

After only two books, Tawna Fenske has already become one of my favorite authors in humorous contemporary romance. A) She's absolutely hilarious. I giggled so many times while reading this - the dialogue is so funny! and B) there's a lot of depth too. It's not at all fluff or frivolous. I've only read her Montake Lake books so far because I like just a sprinkling of steam in my romcoms, but I might have to read every single one of her books if they are all as funny and smart as this one and At The Heart of It.

  • Kim

I guess this might have spoilers. I'm not sure.

I'm not going to finish this. I got it for free with Kindle First. I'd seen it mentioned in several newsletters and thought I might enjoy it.

So, I've read to 17%. The heroine, Jenna, works at some health insurance place with her best friend, Mia. Mia previously cheated on her husband, but is now marrying the man she cheated with and pregnant with his baby (this feels skeevy). Jenna met Mia at some miscarriage support group. I'm not sure what that's about, but I'm sure it's some big secret that is revealed later.

Jenna lives with her aunt (or her aunt lives with her) and the aunt writes erotic romance novels as a way to pay her medical bills, but Jenna pretends she doesn't know because the company Jenna works for would frown upon this. This feels skeevy. But, it seems to put Jenna in "funny" awkward situations because she's sent on errands to purchase odd sex things for her aunt.

Adam is the hero. He's in town for a period of time for a mediator job. He and Jenna hook up at a bar and have a one night stand. But, they're both interested in seeing each other again, so agree to meet later in the week.

The next day, Adam walks in to a meeting room for his mediator job and discovers Jenna and Mia at the conference table. Mia is his ex-wife. And Jenna is his one night stand. And this company is super sensitive about scandal because a previous CEO's wife ran an escort service. This is getting absolutely ridiculous and I don't find it to be "slapstick comedy" as I think it might be meant.

Mia and Adam excuse themselves and have a discussion about how to handle their jobs and their "relationship". They decide to come clean to the company executives and that he should continue his mediator role. Adam then corners Jenna in a "adult" shop (she's on an errand for her aunt) and they go in to a movie booth to have a private conversation where they decide they will not continue their relationship and they will hide from Mia that they had a one night stand (even though Mia knows Jenna had a one night stand, enjoyed it and planned to see the guy again).

I see too much stupid. I can't continue.

  • Maria Rose

This is definitely one of the more complex romances I've read, in terms of the relationship dynamics between the hero and heroine. In a nutshell, Jenna is best friends with Mia, who has been divorced from her previous husband and is married again and 8 months pregnant. When Jenna has a one night stand with a handsome stranger, she never imagines that not only is he the mediator hired by her hospital to negotiate a labour dispute, he's also Mia's ex-husband, the one she's heard all about. The man she knows doesn't fit the description she's always heard. In fact, he seems quite the opposite. Not only that, but her Aunt Gertie has a secret career as an erotica writer, knowledge of which Jenna believes could impact her job. It's only a matter of time before all the strings start to tangle up and Jenna has to make some choices about how much she's willing to risk for love.

I really enjoyed this. It's a sensual love story, the scenes between Adam and Jenna being not overly explicit but still detailed enough to take this a bit beyond the sweet category. And oh my, the complications! As each little detail of past relationships is revealed, it almost leaves your head spinning, and it's no wonder that Jenna starts to feel to torn about what the right action is, versus what she is starting to feel for Adam. There was a fair amount of bittersweet in the story, the reality of failed marriages, step-children relationships, hurt feelings and guilt all coming into play. Yet there are many light hearted and humorous moments too. It makes for a very realistic romance, the characters being flawed but always trying to do their best in difficult situations. They might not have always made the right choices, but they are willing to own up to their mistakes. From beginning to end I found it highly entertaining and really hard to put down. There was tension from one chapter to the next as revelations are made, but still an overall sweet and lovely story with a really heartwarming ending. 4.5 stars.

I love a good book that makes me laugh. This book not only made me laugh it made my husband laugh when I read parts to him. That is saying something because he is strictly a scifi geek. That alone makes this a good book.
I am pretty picky about my heroines, and most times in books I can tolerate them or am happy if I don't hate them. I loved Jenna, she was funny, compassionate, kind of dorky, (shooting range on Friday night), selfless but a bit selfish at the same time and wonderfully flawed. I guess why I liked this book so much is all of the characters were humanly flawed. I didn't care for Mia, I guess it is the whole cheating thing and I thought she was a whiner and a bit of a bitch through most of the book. She had a redeeming moment at the end of the book though. There are books that others love and I think are just ok and there are books that others aren't impressed with that I love. I loved this book. It goes on my favorites shelf. I loved the humor, the mess that Jenna made of everything knowing it was going to blow up in her face, it was just a matter of when and how bad it was going to be. I loved erotic writer Aunt Gert and her need to take credit for her writing achievements but not at the expense of her niece. I loved Adam and his ability to improve himself and put himself out there after his divorce to the annoyance of his ex-wife. This was the first book of Tawna Fenske's that I've read, but I am definitely reading more.

About That Fling was a good afternoon read.

The storyline held my interest even though at times the drama was a little unbelievable. The characters were likable and relatable.
Overall About The Fling was a sweet, fun and heartwarming read.

When I'm in need of a fun-filled romance with slightly offbeat characters and side of steaminess, I head for the nearest Fenske. ABOUT THAT FLING delivers in the best way possible. Adam and Jenna may not be perfect, but they are perfect for each other. Kudos to the author--she just keeps getting better and better!

I enjoyed this book overall however, it escalated too quickly towards the end! I would laugh out loud and talk to the characters as though they could hear me. I'll read some other books by this author; so far I like her style.

    Funny & Romantic

Relationships are tricky especially when you’re dating your best friends ex-husband. Further complications follow for Jenna McArthur, including an erotica writing aunt.

Fast paced, quirky, humorous, and moments of romance, I really enjoyed this novel. There was a lot of information about past and currents relationships given, that added greatly to the overall story. Whilst easy to think it would be a typical romance, the twist at towards the end makes it far from that. Really good read.

About That Fling makes an almost silly run at mixing up couples. Jenna befriends Amelia who turns out to be the ex-wife of Adam who hooks up with Jenna in a one-night stand. Of course, they have no idea there is a connection between the two in Amelia, who now going by Mia. She is no angel and is pregnant by her new husband with whom she had an affair that broke up hers and Adam's marriage. Throw in Aunt Gerth who meddles in Jenna's love life and also writes exotic books.

Super sweet, excellent banter and a great story!

    Great book

I love the banter between Jenna and Adam from the moment they met. They had personal dilemma to endure but I found it funny and entertaining and don’t get me start on Aunt Gertie. What a hoot!

I was absolutely in love with
    About That Fling, by
Tawna Fenske. I’d previously read a novella by her that I’d enjoyed, but this one was perfect to me. I loved the characters, the writing and the plot. The story centers around Jenna McArthur, a PR person for Belmont Health System, and Adam Thomas, a mediator hired to improve communications between the company and its nurses and hopefully prevent the looming strike. Jenna’s Aunt Gertie, the woman secretly behind a successful erotica series, is always encouraging Jenna to step out of her comfort zone, especially when it comes to relationships and sex. Jenna has no idea that the man she picks for her fling is going to show up Monday morning in the boardroom, nor can she imagine the ways that fling is going to complicate her life.

I loved the characters in this book. Jenna is lovely: smart, capable, and yeah, a little bit buttoned up. Adam is that quietly charismatic gentleman that I go absolutely nuts for. He’s honest to a fault and not afraid to tackle uncomfortable subjects because he knows that given the chance to explain things, he can make most people understand a situation. The chemistry between these two—the ‘I-can’t-stay-away-from you’-ness of them—was perfection. While everything on the outside was screaming for them to stay away from each other, every emotion and chemical inside them was insisting on a full steam ahead agenda. That’s not to say they always acted on it. They showed restraint, introspection, respect and a thoroughness of logic and reasoning so often, all without it subtracting from their attraction. I thought it was so brilliantly done and with such a realistic air that it lent this incredible authenticity to their feelings. It was impossible not to believe in their love. They had delicious complications, and while the plotlines were pretty clear from the beginning, Fenske managed to throw in some surprises that kept the story feeling fresh and had me enthralled.

I loved Aunt Gertie. She was absolutely adorable. Jenna’s best friend Mia was a little self centered, though understandably so, but she really came through for Jenna when Jenna needed her. The story had laughs and lots of emotions and some delightful banter. The sex was great, not overdone but enough to make the pages sizzle. I loved how much communication was in this book, and I actually found the bits of communication techniques we learned about to be quite fascinating!

For me, this was everything a new adult book should be: sexy, emotional and fun, while still being believable. I would recommend it to anyone!

  • Kate Sherwood

This was a weird one. I was pegging it as a surprisingly well-edited self-published book b/c there are some strange things I thought a pro editor would catch, but I guess I was wrong in which case I have no idea why they weren't caught...

The weirdness that started it all off for me was how fast they seemed to be eating and drinking at their initial "meet cute". Order a glass of wine, a few lines of dialogue, time for another glass of wine... it was strange. A few other issues like that throughout.

Overall? I think it was a good example of what it wants to be... I'm just not a huge fan of what it wants to be. I don't have a lot of sympathy for characters who know damn well they shouldn't do something, lie to cover up what they're doing, but do it anyway. I want them to either change their minds and decide they SHOULD be doing something, or not do it.

And I didn't find the sex-crazed aunt all that funny, so...

I think it's good at what it is. It's just not what I wanted it to be.

  • Stief

I enjoyed this story about love, secrets, lies and being true to yourself. It was a simple, easy read. Jenna met Mia at a miscarriage support group and has been best friends with her ever since. Mia is divorced and pregnant with her new husband... who she met whilst she was previously married... Jenna's auntie is an erotic fiction writer in her 70s /80s... but is keeping her identity hidden...

Jenna ends up having a one night stand, an amazing, out of this world - one night stand... one that she can't forget... and neither one of them wants it to end.... So it doesn't, it sort of continues but there are complications 'about that fling'.... Adam ends up being a consultant to Jenna's team for a month, and her work policy doesn't allow fraternization between employees. So what are they to do? More and more skeletons come out of the closet and Jenna has to juggle them all.

  • lisa

i liked this well enough! it read like some of my fave romcoms, it was fast and witty and layered. i think mia and jenna's friendship could have used more depth, but i liked that jenna kept justifying all the lies to herself (lies to drive a plot forward is one of my least favorite tropes, but in this case it felt mostly justified because of bad timing.) in general it was fun! (and free, this was a kindle first thing.) (note: many of the reviews on amazon talked about how "steamy" it was. granted, my expectations of erotica are extremely skewed because of fandom, but this was pretty much pg-13. if this was adapted to a movie, there are no scenes that they would need to cut or artfully edit.)

  • Yve

I read the blurb and I was quickly intrigued. I was about 20% in when I thought that the plot and characters were interesting enough to continue on through despite some of the more negative reviews I had read. For the most part, I enjoyed the story as it unfolded. There were a couple of parallel storylines and as they all unfurled, I found myself getting frustrated with Jenna and her need to sweep things under the rug. I loved how understanding Adam was. After his divorce he made a serious effort to change for the better and I loved the new and improved version of him that Jenna got to know. But my feelings towards one character wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster writing and the somewhat bland ending; which is disappointing as I had high hopes for About That Fling.

  • Autumn

I thought this book was a twist on a classic Rom Com. Some parts were a little cheesy and lacked depth but the plot was good, and I liked the characters. It was a light read and nothing completely out of the ordinary but the whole time I was reading, I kept thinking that it would be awesome as a movie. You have your classic love at first sight story with a couple of amusing and surprising ups and downs, and it wraps up with a good ending. So while I don't think it was the best book I've ever read, I think I would love it in a movie format.

  • Jennifer

1.5 stars rounded to 2. If I had known about all the lying in this book, I wouldn't have bothered. This book is basically about a woman who makes a choice and then lies to just about everyone to keep it a secret. She lies to the rest of the characters in the book about the other big secret in her life. She's such a weak character, I couldn't empathize or sympathize with her at all, and found her to be very annoying. The witty, albeit juvenile, banter between the two MCs is the only reason this book is receiving more than one star.

    Just Okay

I picked up this book by way of Kindle Daily Deals. It seemed to be a lite hearted romance and for $1.99 the risk seemed worth it.
This story has a simple premise of a one night stand that turns into love. In between is complications and mild drama. The characters are cute/funny and endearing. When the story focuses on the couple in love with their cute banter and thoughts, the story is good. It's the in between stuff that just loses the way for me. I give it 2 1/2 stars and a forgettable recommendation.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, I like the author's funny, light hearted style. On the other hand, the heroine was telling so many lies, most to save her friendship with her best friend, who I just didn't really like. If this was a comedy of errors, there was error upon error, with a touch of comedy to lighten it up, when a few big issues cropped up. I think I'll read more from this author, but this book was just okay.

    Good

A fun book. Oh, what a tangled web we weave. Jenna ignores everything she doesn't want to confront, and ends up with all her relationships on an edge. From her best friend, her job, her erotica writing aunt, ex boyfriend, and the man she's falling in love with, she's dug herself so deep, she doesn't know how to cope with the results of her deceit. A funny, heartwarming story about true love. The sex is there, and you know it, but no details.

I actually finished this earlier and am just having a chance to post my review. The book was very cheesy. I mean I understand the love part. It was cute, but gosh her bff's ex husband ? Like wowwwww some Jerry Springer stuff man. The Aunt was hilarious, and I'm sure we all wish we had a cool auntie like her. It was okay at best. I am a sucker for romance so that got it an extra star lol... will I read other books by this author ? We shall see.
