"The future is in the cloud!!!" What could go wrong with that? A lot.

A prison break! One man, Luther Dupree, locked up in the federal Supermax, has the knowledge and experience to get inside America's top secret military response loop, and suddenly he's gone.

In this sweeping international crime caper, trouble in Africa, Pakistan, China, and North Korea leads to strategic responses by politicians and war planners funded by congress. Blunders in hastily executed defense contracts begin to shift the world power structure, China and Russia close in, and billions of dollars disappear. In a major national crisis Major Boyd Chailland goes undercover in the Pentagon to find who's leaking our secrets. An IT planner's worst nightmare plays out as the cloud appears to be compromised and data can no longer be trusted. Boyd finds the trail, and it leads to his old nemesis Dupree. Then Boyd's family disappears and it becomes personal; low tech versus high tech; man to man; hand to hand; accounts settled in a stunning climax at the top of the world.

The Fourth Domain (Boyd Chailland, #4) Reviews

I received this book through a goodreads giveaway. I had not previously read any of Ed Baldwin's books. So I was not familiar with the main character "Boyd Chilland". As soon as I started the book the characters were easy to identify. I cannot imagine the research digging to get the information here in the story. I assume some must come from the fact that the author worked for our government in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. I was impressed with the little details in this book. I think this fact made the book more interesting.
This book is a great espionage thriller. The story catches you and doesn't let go. The ending was a great karma ending, loved it.
I hope the previous books of the author's are as good because I am doing a search now to back track, read those.

Ed Baldwin reminds us we are definitely in a global society. He makes you wonder if any information is safe anywhere, and question whether we are capable of dealing with the dark side of humanity in modern cyber tech.
