In 1972 a disgraced college professor and a retired FBI agent set out to discover, once and for all, the final resting place of the legendary Treasure of the Knights Templar. Days later, both men disappear without a trace. Forty years later, spurred on by the discovery of a long lost manuscript, the Professor's son hires historians Paul Davenport and Sara Walsh to pick up where his father left off. Their adventure leads them from Benjamin Franklin's Freemasons to the early days of the Civil War, from World War II Paris to the corrupt world of J. Edgar Hoover's FBI. But Davenport and Walsh aren't alone in their search. A fanatical group of Neo-Knights have infiltrated the Freemasons in an attempt to reignite the Crusades. And watching them all from the shadows is a mysterious figure known as The Bookkeeper. From the Capitols of old world Europe to a remote estate on the coast of Canada, to a small town in Pennsylvania, Davenport and Walsh discover kidnapping and murder, and go from hunters to prey as they get closer and closer to the secrets of The Templar Succession.

The Templar Succession Reviews

  • Elizabeth Ehlen

Two secret societies share one big secret and an intertwining history. Can historians and estranged lovers Paul Davenport and Sara Walsh succeed in solving a mystery where others have not only failed, but had their reputations and livelihoods ruined? Can they help Alan Kramer, Jr., clear his father’s name before meeting the same tragic end? Follow a journey that starts with Benjamin Franklin as they crisscross the globe seeking answers they have no business finding.

Both the Templars and the Masons have long been objects of scrutiny and legend, and they continue to fascinate. I loved the weaving of history throughout this novel, but found the writing a bit clunky. The dialogue was solid, but I felt the narration could probably use more editing, particularly as there were some obvious typos and grammar. Still, the story itself is interesting, and the author makes no secret of weaving together real history and fiction, which is nice. Following the National Treasure and Da Vinci Code footsteps, The Templar Succession takes treasure hunting to historical proportions.

The book is mysterious plot followed with the leading characters as FBI agent and his companion in the adventure.
It's full of adventure, thrills and explorations one expects in a book like this.
The writing style of the author is a fast pacing one that is a requirement when it comes to this genre.
I like its plot, the title, clean and concise blurb that make you read more and more.
    This is a good read.

PS: Author had gifted me a copy, thanks!

    Always read the reviews

A very disappointing story. First off there were way too many inexcusable typos and grammar errors. It seems to be a common thing in the books I read on Amazon Unlimited. It seems like all have several and I can deal with that. And I admit, I make plenty of my own errors. But this was written in 2015, there has been more than enough time to correct mistakes.

Secondly the violence was just plain dumb. People getting killed for no reason, and nothing ever happens.

Lastly, the book ignores all kinds of real world issues like going through customs, just to make the story happen.

There are several books in this series. I had hoped to read them all, I enjoy historical fiction. After reading this one I've changed my mind.

    Very engaging and good read

This book was a wonderful read. From the beginning starting with Ben Franklin's death you go on an adventure. The characters are believable and fun to read. There is some hummer thrown in and a lot of mystery and suspense that's done I believe just right

Great book that will have you on your toes until the end. Recommend to anyone who likes suspense. Treasure with danger exciting.
