Look ma, no textbooks! The Learn in Your Car series treats you like a child--in the best possible way--starting with one-word phrases ("please," "good-by"), counting exercises, and simple nouns ("bus," "train") designed to imitate a child's learning process. First you hear the words in English, then they are repeated slowly in clear, unaccented pronunciations. The method is extremely effective for those who don't know a thing, or for those who want to brush up by testing themselves when the English words are spoken. The tapes emphasize the building blocks of communicating in a foreign country rather than rote phrases that only apply on the tape and not in real-life exchanges. Level 1 painlessly covers basic verb forms, essential prepositions, near future and past tenses, as well as shopping, hotel reservations, and other travel-related situations. The series includes French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, and Spanish in three levels that can be purchased individually or in boxed sets. Each level contains two 90-minute cassettes (or CDs) and an accompanying booklet (not for use behind the wheel) with helpful explanations and scripts for the lessons.

I listened to this book thought it beneficial. I was glad I had a bit of the German Language knowledge or this would have been more difficult to follow. I think there are better options.

To sum it up in one picture.
And just when you think you’re safely shut in your vehicle from this silly pool of badassery, a type c driver strolls along, with his rolling chunk of juxtaposed concert stereos to shatter what’s left of your precious tranquility.
Cynical or not, I absolutely hate wasting time. And I hate wasting it in traffic jams. Hence the amalgamation of audiobooks with this inescapable Lebanese routine.
As for the audiobook, it was good. The vocabulary stresses on themes like directions, restaurants, transportations, hotel, money so if you’re a potential German tourist, this audiobook is pretty helpful. Though you need the textbooks to realize that Touristeninformationsbüro, the tourist information office, is a single word.
At times I caught myself repeating excessively long sentences such asWir werden unsere Hausarbeit bis heute Abend um zehn Uhr beenden
after just one listen and barely enough time to take its meaning in, barely enough time to take the sentence in! In my attempt, I’m sure I looked like this.
Nonetheless, Learn German in your Car is a pragmatic and efficient approach to learn this schweirig (difficult) yet wichtig (important) – well at least to me – language.

Not my favorite language program but it's good to review. The woman speaks very quickly and it's hard to understand. You have to playback the cd a lot to understand the words.
