Alexei (Love Me Harder #6) Reviews

This is book six in the "Love Me Harder" series.
This is the story of Amber and Alexei. Alexei is the son of Aran and Rena who where in book one "Aran" in the Love me Harder series. All so Amber is the adopted daughter of Ash who we learn about the child in book five "Hale" in the Love Me Harder Series. But really you don't have to have read those book to enjoy this one as I just started with book four in the series. I will say there is a continue villain that is after each one but the book does catch you up so that not really a issue.
Amber is older than Alexi and they did grow up as 'cousins' but there is not blood family between them. They are both drawn to each other but because of their family history, age and other things it has moved forward until now. Where they are put in a situation that seem to move them forward to the goal end of them being together...this is an action pack book.
I really like the series.. the only negative that I can say about this book as to why its four stars is that the author does not describe the background scene or their moving scene clearly. For some less detail is the better but for me I like to have them actually moving from scene to scene with a description. But nothing that is keeping me from enjoying this series. -
Alexei and Amber, 29 years after the end of Love me Harder book 5 (be sure to read all of them before tackling this one). Rena and Aran's son Alexei is all grown up, Amber has been adopted into the family by Ash. The battle begins. I really loved this story, it wrapped up so many pieces that had been scattered throughout the first 5 books. I'm moving on to the last book in the Love me Harder series by Serena Simpson now.

Alexei and Amber's story is in my mind, a bit out of order but because we are dealing with aliens it was necessary for it to be before Ash's.
Amber has been a very special girl her whole life and that included the part before Alexei was born. We first met her in Sergey's book with a mother who was very ill. Dante, of course had his hand in this one also.
Alexei is Rena and Aran's firstborn son and he has grown into a fine young man. He and Amber have been friends but the threat of Ash and what he would do to Alexei if he touched her has kept Alexei from acting on his attraction until now.
Now, however, the war is upon them and it has been foretold that Alexei will make the first kill within the war. He is being tracked by the tainted one's minions (I'm paraphrasing that) and it has become a time when violence cannot be spared. He has been taught to control himself and he has done a fairly good job of it.
Now the alien ships have moved in and after helping the Earth's military know what weapons to use and where to find them they have to surrender the created that Yaksim has requested. Aran, Dante, Alexei, and Amber board the second and head ship to appease the aliens and stop the war on earth. The humans done realize this won't work but Dante knows that this is only the first step. He has sent both Alexei and Amber into dreams to learn of their DNA and how to fight so they might be prepared.
When the time comes and they have to fight those who have learned how to duplicate themselves they have found the way to do it. But will Amber be able to help or will Alexei watch her die?
As you know I am a fan of this series and am very excited to continue on in the reading.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. -
SOAR has coming to the Love Me Harder Series, Aran and Rena's son is no longer a baby, but in his early thirties and Amber the little girl we met in I believe it was Sergey's book is now in her mid-to-late thirties. This is their story. Alexei has been dreaming about mating with Amber for as long as he could remember, however, he feels that it is wrong to think of her that way since for all intents and purposes she is his "cousin" being raised by his uncle Ash.
The brothers and Dante were able to convince Amber's parents that she would be much safer with them. Amber grew-up with Ash as her 'father,' even though has she became older she felt the pull between her and Alexei, she did not want to act on it since he would live longer than she and she did not want to have to age while he and the rest of her family stayed looking young. Amber not without her own power is able to assist in helping her family combat the threat against not only her family, but earth as well.
I love reading the books of this series and feel Ash's pain at having to watch his brothers and now his daughter with their mates.
This was a good story to read. The grammatical errors, word usage and thing such as Wild Cat not Wild cat, unless it was supposed to be Wildcat, took away the steady flow of the story. -
First, I have read all of the books in this series. For the most part, I have enjoyed them until I read this latest. The editing was so egregious that I almost gave up on it. Wrong decision that, because this installment was just plain boring. So much more insight into Amber's character as well as her gifts would have added more substance to the story. Further, there was little insight into Alexei's character as well. The ending was better than the whole of the story. A lot of sex, sex talk, and a few fight scenes do not create a compelling read for me. The previous books are fascinating, and they have so much more substance.
Notwithstanding, I have not abandoned this series. I have Ash's story, which is next in this series. I am anticipating any upcoming books featuring Dante and each of his brothers. I know this review is harsh; however, I hope this author can use my criticisms constructively. I believe Ms. Simpson is quite talented, and I hope this book was just a brief misstep. -
Edit!! Please!
I gave it 4 stars because it is an excellent read. The only thing that kept it from being a higher score was because of the lack of editing. It detracted from the easy flow the book should have been.
