The Usborne Big Book of Colors Reviews

Yes! This is what I was wishing my Pantone color book was!
Lots of creative and interesting illustrations, and fun color factoids. The clear plastic page is so cool, showing how colors mix.
Made of thicker pages, but not a board book.
The only downside is that some colors get a two-page spread with lots of illustrations, and some colors only get one or a half page. -
this is one of the book that I think could cover a pretty wide range of age.
I love how it gather one color range along with its different tone and hue into one big page so it suits a toddler to recognize concept of color.
But it also fits perfectly for bigger kids, since there are lots of different tone and hue for one color shown here. Even I unfamiliar with the color "chartreuse", or "aureolin".
I also like their page which use a transparent sheet to explain the concept of combining color. I think this is a great book, a keeper one! -
This is the best book of colours for kids I've ever seen. It has fun drawings that introduce all the different shades of each of the well known colours, as well as some easy to understand information about colour wheels and how colours combine to change each other. I could have seen myself poring over this book over and over as a kid. I even learned a few more obscure colours from reading it. A great addition to a collection

Gorgeous, and since it’s such a big book, a baby or toddler can really get lost in all those colorful pages! (However, my baby also managed to destroy the spinnable color wheel and do some damage to the plastic overlay pages — it’s not really a baby book.) Some of the names given for the colors don’t seem to match up with my expectation, but it’s still a fun book.

Great book to teach children about colors. Primary colors, secondary colors and over 130 colors made from a combination of them. Includes a color wheel For kids to turn.

When teaching color concepts this is my go to book. This cardboard paged, interactive book keeps the attention of many ages. The book first catches the attention of the reader, by having an interactive color wheel while explaining the different types of colors. The book continues to explain all the colors in depth, giving different shades and object that are the given color. The book also explains what mood and meanings are associated with each color. It was on the third page that I knew this was a quality book about colors. The depth that it goes into each color is outstanding and the ease that the Usborne's has presented the material makes this book helpful and interesting to young and older readers. This book is an amazing first book bout colors, but it can cover concepts toddlers are intellectually unable to comprehend, but they can still associate colors with objects. It also has cardboard pages that are used in infant/toddler books to make reading the book easier and to maintain the quality of the book. For older children in Elementary age this would be a perfect book to cover shades of the colors, mixing colors, and the classification of colors. It also helps children think about the colors around them, and can be used for a foundation of a classroom project/unit.
