Out of the Box Regifted (Out of the Box, #2) Reviews

This is the second book in the Out of The Box series from author Jennifer Theriot. I read the first one, having never really read a book that had a middle aged cast. When you think sexy, you think young and attractive on the cusp of life, but what about everyone else? Could an older cast with real life experiences by sexy, attractive, funny and loving. ABSO-freaking-LOUTELY!

I'm here to tell you that Jennifer Theriot nails it in the newest Out of The Box Regifted. It has ups and downs, a true roller-coaster ride for your emotions, which is everything you want in a good book! Regifted picks up where Awakening left off. The story continues to follow Ash and Olivia, along with everyone in their family. Theriot quickly spins a tale that will leaving you flipping the pages into the wee hours of the morning. Trust me, I had 2 such nights with this one. I didn't want to put it down, correction, I couldn't put it down!

This is a phenomenal story about life and love and all the messy stuff in between. I won't give any spoilers, but I will tell you the only thing this book left me wondering is when the next book comes out!!

When you are younger and you see the older generation showing affection, you have that moment when you think, ‘Yuck, they still can’t be having sex at their age.’ Well yes they can and with this story that’s what you get, an older couple who love each other and have an amazing sex life. Olivia and Ash are so good together, the love they share shines through the pages. And I only hope that when I’m there age I’m still having as much fun as they are. This story revolves around Ash and Olivia and their extended family. Olivia still has hang up’s from her past marriage and her ex-husband does cause a bit of angst between her and Ash. But Ash (be still my beating heart) is understanding to a point and helps her in so many ways. He is just so kind hearted the way he treats Olivia is just so heart-warming. The story is also about family and what you will do for each other. Olivia seems to be the person everyone goes to with their problems, I don’t blame them as she seems to know the right words to say and we all need a friend like that. I love Todd his nature is good but he takes a lot on and his relationship with Olivia helps him. It’s a friendship so strong that I can’t see it every being broken. The author sets the wedding scene of Tommy and Emily beautifully, I really felt like I was standing there watching them getting married. And I will admit to welling up at that scene. And then we come to the end and I’m like WTF you can’t end it there I need to know what happens. What is that damn secret? So I will be eagerly awaiting to find out what happens next for Olivia and Ash.

The author has done it again. We have the next chapters in the story of Olivia and Ash as they have become engaged and now plan their future. Of course they can’t have an easy ride to the I do’s; they will have to overcome some hurdles that are placed in their way by both of their pasts.

Olivia realizes that just walking away from her former marriage isn’t that simple as people from the past will demand her attention and she will come face to face with the lies that went on behind her back. She will also have to face the future of her ex-husband and be strong enough to not get sucked back into his games and disaster of a life he has created now.

Ash realizes that Olivia deserves the truth about his life but he isn’t going to succumb to that need easily. Things in his past and in his career will be better left in the dark, if only he can keep Olivia from asking the right questions backing him into a corner that will force him to tell the truth or lose her.

We watch as Todd and Tommy take steps into their future with their women and the band. Big adventures for the band will take them away from the support system they have built with Olivia and Ash. A big event happens to the band while on the road that will either bring them together or tear them apart.

Jennifer Theriot gives us another book of watching Olivia crawl out of her middle aged box that she seemed to have been placed in and discover herself as more than a wife and mom but as a woman. She is realizing it is okay to accept her sexual needs and explore her sensual side in life, not only to Ash but to the world in general. She is more than what the labels she wears, she is woman and we hear her roar in this book.

I wasn’t at all sure about having regifted in the title until I read this book. The author explains that in life we have to bandage our past wounds, heal the breaks in our heart and find that strength that is buried in our souls and present our new selves to the world in hopes that one person will see our beauty and worth and treasure us as the gift we were meant to be. This is the story of Ash and Olivia, both have been through the regifting process and both realize the treasure they have been granted by having each other in their lives.

I highly recommend this series, it is full of love, redemption and the never say die attitude. It is also proof that life doesn’t give us one shot at happiness; we just have to be aware of the doors that provide it and have the courage to step through those doors. Well done Jennifer.

You always hear the saying when one door closes another opens. This saying fits these books so well. I cried when Olivia cried, I laughed when Olivia laughed, and I angry when Olivia got angry. But best of all, Ash stole my heart when he stole Olivia’s. Ash and Olivia make you believe love can happen in an instant at any point in your life. After years of a very vanilla sex life, Ash broadens Olivia’s horizons. Olivia is spoiled beyond her wildest dreams.

The books don’t just focus on Ash and Olivia’s romance and relationship but the relationships they have with their respective children; and their “adopted” family that make up the band Avenue. Olivia is everyone’s mom and Ash is everyone’s dad.

My favorite band member has to be Todd. OMG he is hysterical! The F-bomb must have been his first word. He is the class clown that has so much passion he doesn’t know what to do with himself. The badass with the heart of gold. The connection he makes with Olivia is from the soul. Blessed even. When he finds love, he loves deep and show it through his music.

Something very cool....when Todd sings “FairyTale Man” in the book, you can actually listen to it. The lyrics of the song has been transformed by Five time San Antonio Guitar Wars winner Mark Odom that you can buy and listen to. I bought it and am listening to it now as I write this review. Knowing the story behind it really does bring a tear to your eyes.

I bought Awakening under 24 hours ago and I have to say, I devoured it! I kept looking at my reading progress and was thrilled that even though so much happened in the story, I had so much more to go. I felt like I was watching a mini series on a cable channel or something (I can totally see that). Never wanted it to end! Then, I remembered... I still have another book to read. So at about 1am this morning I started Regifted. Eventually I had to put it down so I could get some sleep.

Thankfully, my boss is away and I could finish this book. Engagements, trips, tours, interventions, and chaos. This second book was just as intriguing as the first as we continue Olivia and Ash’s journey in their relationship and those close to them. I don’t want to say too much, because I don’t like to give any spoilers.

All I can say is that Ms. Theroit had me hooked within the first 5 minutes of reading the first book let alone clamoring for the second. In telling the story of Olivia and Ash we can take away that love can happen at any time and can be just as fun in your golden years as it was in your 20s.

Jennifer is currently working on the third book, Out of the Box Everlasting. 2 Novellas from her other character's POV are planned as well and I can’t wait!

I was emotionally invested with all of the wonderful characters. The stories were told so beautifully that I was laughing and crying along with them. Out of the Box Awakening and Out of the Box Regifted are books definitely worth reading and I highly recommend you add them to your summer reading lists now! I give both books 5 Hearts!

    Real, loving and beautiful!

An Amazing story of new beginnings no matter the age or the circumstances. This is a book that is real and loving and simply amazing. You will cry and laugh and hurt with Olivia and you will swoon at Ash. But together you will feel warm and fuzzy and just simply alive as you read this book. The relationships that form with friends and extended families brought together is just.... well there are no words. I felt this book in my heart Jennifer has created a new fan of her writing and I can't wait to read her next creation.

  • Lynelle Clark

I received the book from the author for an honest review.

A Fresh breeze of romance as two elderly people started their lives together, sorting through the old and beginning new as they brought two families together in a peaceful way. Their maturity like a beacon amidst the storms.
A feisty woman that had to deal with her past, accept it and move forward with the help of the most gorgeous man I came across in romance novels. Together they explored each other with much flair and exuberance. Their sexual drive and explorations were the highlights throughout the book and had me going-I think I need to find myself a teacher in striptease...*smile* They new how to turn each other on and wasn't afraid to enjoy each other to the fullest.

I really loved Ash Harper's character, he was everything a woman wanted in a man and more. His absolute devotion to Olivia had me all worked up. He was just perfect in so many ways; not even stingy, not at all. Olivia could buy whatever she wanted and if it wasn't enough according to him he would go and spend more on her....I want a man like that! *smile* The end of the story was like...huh - I really hope their is another book - We need to know, really!!

The interaction between mother and daughter stood out for me, and I really enjoyed this beautiful relationship. It was an easy going bond that was heartfelt all the way.
However, the one relationship that stood out the most was the one between Todd and Olivia. Seemingly two worlds apart in age and interest; these two's unique relationship had me jealous. With all the outward trappings of a typical rock star Todd treated Olivia like a special lady and friend. Their bond strong and with no judgment as they support each other in the most troubling times.

We learn to know all the characters in the book through their normal daily lives, each battling with their own desires, needs and wants. We get a glimpse, as drama unfolds, secrets revealed and dealing with the past that so easily wanted to work its way back into their lives. Really connecting with each character on some level, making this a realistic and believable story to be enjoyed with good measure.

Out of The Box Regifted by Jennifer Theriot is another great read! Can a romance book get much better than Awakening? I’m here to tell you it can and it DOES!

In this continuation of the series, we see Ash & Olivia fall deeper in love (if that even possible) I’m a bit envious of their sex life….

The band Avenue goes out on the road and there are lots of happenings between the band members (good and bad). Emotions? This book pretty much taps into every one. As much as I loved the characters in Awakening, I came to love them even more in Regifted. Not often do you find a book where you connect with the characters and almost feel what they’re feeling.

All I can ask now is for another book in the series. I need more Out of the Box…..

5 stars for this very gifted author!

A Story that makes you believe in Love…
A great love story has to have something significant…apart from others…Ms. Theriot delivers us another ‘Mature Sexy’ read in Regifted.
Olivia and Ash are back! Olivia must deal with the past, her ex-husband so she can have her happily-ever-after with Ash who has his own secrets. Can Olivia move forward with confidence to accept her new lifestyle? Can Ash keep those secrets hidden? Besides Olivia and Ash, there’s their blended family we all fell in love with in Ms. Theriot’s first in the series, Out of the Box Awakening. Each and everyone has their times and trials of heartache and hardships to battle.
Regifted is filled with lies, truths, secrets and the greatest love story. The romance in this story is breathtaking. It is a love story that will evoke some of the most powerful emotions from readers. I feel honored to have read the second in this series. Ms. Theriot has captivated my heart once more with her characters and her writing style that drew me in and kept me flipping one page after the other. I was taken away in search of that happily-ever-after. Excited thinking about the next in the series!

I usually read long historical and biographical books but at times I mix it up a little with books filled with younger characters, so when a friend suggested this book, I took a look at the reviews and decided to give it a try. I'm SO glad I did! This book has everything...emotion, great characters, and a lovely story. One reviewer mentioned that Todd reminded her of Adam Levine and I can see that.

I'm going to read the first book, Out of the Box Awakening and see what I missed. This is a page turner you won't regret reading. I'm thinking there will be a book 3? Ms. Theriot knows how to pack a punch and suck you in!

    What Eveery Woman Wants.
    I want Ash Harper.
What an amazing look at finding love through unexpected heartache. This book snared me from the very first page. I fell in love with ALL the characters. Every woman needs an Ash Harper in her life. If you want to experience every emotion coupled with great sex then this is the book for you. An absolute must read!

    This series is .....WOW!
After reading Awakening, I knew I had to continue with Regifted. The author does a wonderful job in making you feel like you are in every scene. There are some pretty steamy scenes - the author knows how to get your motor running! Lots more happening with the characters in this book. There's a wedding with a very emotional scene, there is tragedy, drug addiction, travels and lots more to connect you further with the cast of characters. Todd is still my favorite character. He rocks! I also loved how Olivia becomes more confident with herself and her relationship with Ash. Looking forward to book 3, since I was left with a little cliffhanger.....

    REVIEW
This is the 2nd book in the Out of the Box Series and WOW just like the first book Awakening I was in love from the very first word. Jennifer Theriot sure knows how to write a book that grabs you from the very first sentence and keeps you clutching to the book to the very end.

We are started with Olivia remembering her night at the club with all of her family and the boys from the band and their girlfriends all watching Ash ask for her hand in marriage. Can life be so simple? Well sadly not for Olivia. This book takes us through so many ups and downs and tears and tribulations.

Tommy and Emily have excited news , Todd OH how I love TODD he is still with Kyra and still dropping those wicked F Bombs Hilarious.

So much transpires in this book from happy to sad in the blink of an eye.
Will Ash and Olivia finally have their HEA?

Pickup your copy of this fantastic book and find out !! I highly recommend you read the first book in this series !! Both books are well worth the read !!!

This next installment of The Out of The Box series picks up where Ash purposes to Olivia and follows them into what looks like is going to be happily ever after, you know, going to see the band play, seeing young love spring forth, plan a wedding or two. Good Times. Yeah. Then some, not so good!
I swear, this is just like real life and felt like it too! I can't remember the last time I cried my way through a book! I was all over the place, laughing so hard (mostly at Todd) I teared up.....cried at the beautiful words shared at a wedding...at the senseless loss of two lives...and the total devastation of the one left behind. I watched this and so much more happen to ordinary people who had already come through so much. And just when I thought, It's all good.....The absolute unthinkable happens!!!!! And as I am crying once again, I realize that we won't be getting the details on this until the next installment which I hope is forthcoming! Jennifer, you seriously have my attention! Rock On!

The second book in this series picks up where Awakening left off. We see Olivia become stronger and more confident day by day as Ash takes her on this incredible sexy journey filled with mega romance. If you thought you loved the characters in the first book, just wait.... Regifted has heartache, happiness, sexy smexy, loss, secrets and lots of twists and turns. There's even an emotional wedding scene. All very believable and well written. I loved this book and developed an even more intense emotional connection to the incredible cast of characters.Especially Todd, a bad boy rocker who will steal your heart! The ending will leave you shocked and wanting more, so be prepared. Well written Jennifer Theriot!

I was given an ARC of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
THIS IS A TOTALY SPOILER FREE REVIEW. EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FIRST BOOK YET!!!!
I was pleasantly pleased!!! This is the second book in Jennifer Theriot's Out of the Box series. It picks up right where the first book let off. If you read Out of the Box you will really want to read this continuation.
This series is different then most of the NA books out and I love different. I read a lot so I'm always looking for the different book. The characters in this series are older in their 50s and shows that "golden years" are not boring and slow! I'm in my late 40s so it's nice to read about people my age. The mix of Hot Rocker young people in the story definitely keep Ash and Olivia young at heart! And Ash is pretty darn HOT too!!
The book flows smoothly and kept me wanting to turn the next page. Lots of ups and downs and the fabulous Ash Harper definitely brings Olivia out of her box! As she faces all the new challenges in her new life.
This book if for adults and contains more then a few "hot and steamy" pages. Not all middle age people go to bed just to sleep (wink wink!)!!!!And Jennifer Theriot writes some pretty hot and sexy scenes. So do not think this book is about old people reading the paper and going to bed early!!
I totally recommend this book and series for anyone looking for something mature and different to read. I loved it and can't wait for the next book to come out.

    Love…

This one word kept creeping up in my mind as I read Out of the Box Regifted.

    Love…

When I realized I was about to begin another book with Ash Harper in it! He is the king of SEXY! Plus, he knows how to treat a woman, that makes him #1 in my book.

    Love…

When I read about Olivia & Ash’s combined family. Their love for one another brought a smile to my face, and a tear to my eye as I felt their pain as it was my own family. Jennifer Theriot makes you wish you could dive right in and enjoy a family dinner with them, or listen to the band play a concert. It’s hard not to fall in love with Jennifer’s characters.

Yep, I LOVE this series! It warmed my heart on one page, then made me blush on the other. It has everything I enjoy in a romance novel, and I highly recommend it!

I was gifted with this book to help me create Jennifer’s book trailer. Thank you Jennifer Theriot! You are a gifted writer and I can’t wait to read the third book in the Out of the Box series.

This started out with Olivia going over her night being proposed to by her gorgeous Man Ash. Then Ash's Son (Tommy) also gets engaged to Emily. So many weddings are starting to be planned. Olivia is still struggling with accepting that what happen in the past is in the past. And Ash continous to Remind her they need to move forward.
This book has so many wonderful aspects of the book. Relationships All over the place. It offers Love, Hope, even some drama, and some heartaches here and there.
My favorite 2 quotes are :
"I love every song on your seducing Olivia playlist." << I need one of those for myself hehe
And Finally " You are a drug I crave"
Jennifer did a amazing Job. I love a book that can inspire hope in different relationships. and Even showing how strong Olivia becomes!!

THE AUTHOR NAILS IT IN HER SEQUEL!

I had to read on to follow the journey of this wonderful couple. The characters have a way of making their way into your heart. Lots of emotion in book 2 - twists and turns like you wouldn't believe. The author makes sure that every character is believable and you feel like you're there in every scene. Look for a more steamy ride in book 2 as the leading characters continue on their romantic and intimate journey. The way book Regifted ended, I'm certain there's a book 3 on the horizon!

Out of the Box Regifted is the second book in the Out of the Box Series by Jennifer Theriot. The story follows the relationship of Olivia and Ash as they embark on their new life together. This was a great follow up to book one. Olivia and Ash are beyond doubt, a great couple with amazing chemistry that will stay with you.

In book two Jennifer gives us a little more insight into all the characters lives (including Alan, their children, and the band) which is a nice touch. You also get a couple of curve balls thrown your way and I love when a book makes me think, “OMG”! One of my favorite parts to this book is the friendship that was formed between Olivia and Todd. It was nice to see that age and gender have no barriers when it comes to true friendship. I can’t wait to find out how the story continues in book three.

This book was every bit as good as the first in the series and leaves you w waiting for more. The story flows so well and you can't put it down because you are awaiting the next thing to happen. As an older person it makes you feel good to find a story that shows love can happen at any age, it isn't only for the young.

I just finished reading Out of the Box Regifted by Jennifer Theriot and I have to say that I am waiting on pins and needles for the next book to come out. Just when they get over one hurdle in their relationship, life throws another at them. The love between Ash and Olivia proves stronger than ever when a death brings her ex husband back into her life.
I loved the wedding scene in this book. It was so different from the normal ordinary weddings and just what you would expect of the couple getting married. My devastation came when they got back from Paris. It is also the reason I cannot wait for the next book to come out. You know you are into a book when people are looking at you funny because you are laughing out loud or yelling at characters in the book.
This is another 5 star book in my opinion. I actually found myself having a dream about the characters in this book. I could not help but laugh when I woke up. I would recommend that everyone read both of these books, because the next one is sure to have you on the edge of your seats.

  • Staci Simmons

I read the first book, Awakening, and couldn't wait to finish it and read this one. I absolutely love this story and the characters. They are pretty much your normal, every day family. I felt like I was part of their family. This story will make you laugh and cry. Love it!! Can't wait to read more from this author!

Out of the Box Regifted is a romance for all ages. The refreshing and great thing about this story is that it features a couple of an older age. Often times we're reading hit stories about teenagers, or the NA genre. Don't get me wrong, I love them if they're well done, but it's REALLY great to see a story that tugs at the heartstrings for any age. And even better, this is more than a romance story. The book has a focus on other relationships as will, such as Olivia and Ash's family.

This book is full of highs and lows, and emotions that threw me all across the board. I laughed, I cried, I yelled, I got a little crazy. The story made me feel. It's a time for new beginnings, letting go of painful pasts and looking to the future. It's well written and kept me engrossed throughout. I never knew what was going to happen and I found myself enjoying most of the characters. Don't miss it!

I’m not usually a romance reader, but something in the way this gifted author tells the tale captivates me. I read the first book in this series (Awakening) quite a while back and was happy to see Out of The Box Regifted by Jennifer Theriot come out. The story continues with Olivia and Ash, characters I feel I know – they are so real. Theriot has a natural ability of seeing people and turning them into characters that are identifiable with those in our own lives. And she makes scenes I can not only see, but also feel. She is a true storyteller and I can’t wait for the next one. Highly recommended, five stars.

Out of the box Regifted was the second in the series. I truly enjoyed the continuing of the story-line of each individual character. It is just like all the highs and lows of all normal blended families mixed with drama, secrets and lies that seem to be in every day life. Just like in the first book, it is not hard to keep track of who is who because everything still remains to be explained and told by the prospective as the motherly matriarch Olivia.

Hurry and get the next book out for the series Jennifer because I want to know what is next for my new book family!!!!

  • J.M. Maurer

Out of the Box Regifted is the second book in this series. I found it to be well written with twists and turns, peaks and valleys, and OMG moments. Something else I love about this series is that this family is special. They're like real people, doing real things and thinking real thoughts.

Ash Harper...you should get to know him.

I love that Olivia and Ash are older yet have that off-the-charts chemistry we all hope to actively have later in our lives. Also still love the cast of characters, which we learn more and more about. I laughed, grabbed a few tissues, and downloaded the third book in the series to find out what happens next. There's still a lot about Ash Harper that I need to know.

*Note: Toccata Obbligato ~ Serenading Kyra (Out of the Box #2.5) is a perfect side book to read after Regifted. I've already read it...loved reading more about the filthy-mouthed, legendary Rock God that is Todd O'Malley!

Off to finish Out of the Box Everlasting.

Jennifer Theriot has done a beautiful job in writing a story full of love and fantastic relationships. The relationship between Ash and Olivia is wonderful in that it showcased mature characters still finding love. The relationship between Olivia and Todd was dynamic. And of course Olivia's relationship with her daughter is sincere and heartfelt. Great Job Jennifer.
