The moment everything changed didn’t happen in that cliché rockets-red-glare kind of way, it happened in the form of a waking nightmare. I caught my husband, my high-school sweetheart, the father of my children, balls deep in a sordid affair.
That was when I gave up on men and love.
I didn’t count on the NHL’s golden boy, the beautiful, arrogant Cooper Stone turning my life and my hockey rink upside down.
My kids are why I wake up in the morning.
Hockey is what Cooper breathes for.
We’re from different worlds and places in our lives but when our hearts collided something so wrong and different turned into something so right.

3.75 Stone STARS
Debut author Natasha Madison delivers a solid story of a divorced mother of two’s fall for professional hockey player, Cooper Stone. Parker runs a hockey rink in which the star will be rehabilitating his busted knee in her great town. Parker is still rebuilding her self confidence since her husband and first love left her for another woman.
”I’ve had many years with a man who not only looked through me, he passed me, not looking at me. But you, you see me.”
Readers will adore alpha hero Cooper Stone. While Parker is a terrific heroine with two wonderful children. The fall between Cooper and Parker was well done and very sexy (though a bit too many sex scenes for my tastes). The story includes some great friends and some ex drama and is indeed a standalone.
”Babe, we just started.”

After reading a later book by this author, I decided to go back in time and check this one out because the main guy from this book appears in the later ones. It worked out just the way going back in time always works out...
Yeah. Time travel is not as funny as it should be.
This book had a lot of similarities to the one that was written later that I read - Tempt the Boss. Except it didn't have all of the funny moments, or much of a storyline. What it did have was sex. Lots and lots of sex. So much sex that you will need a bottle of cranberry juice nearby while you read it.
Who said men don't understand the workings of the female body? Andy totally gets it.
The two that are smashing it the whole book are Cooper, a hockey player, and Parker, a mom. As a mom of older children, I can tell you that there is not a lot of realism in the amount of sex this dude is getting with young kids around the house. It's almost like children have some sort of survival-of-the-fittest instincts built into them to make sure they prevent you from making more babies that will be their competition for food and love. There is a mental alarm in their head that goes off if mom and dad are thinking of doing the dirty. That alarm comes with the need to run into their parents' room and vomit on the floor. It's like one of those alarm clocks you have to chase around the room.
What kind of sadist invented this?
Yeah, so this is a toddler when they are about to puke in the middle of the night.
So, realism does not abound in this story.
I wouldn't mind that so much, but I honestly got sick to death of their sexy times. It was too much. I was bored. Page after page I read. Why didn't I stop reading? Oh. um... just making sure the sex was safe. Yeah, that's why. I'm all about the safety.
The guy, Cooper, was also a bit more alpha than I like. He slipped over the "controlling, not sexy" line a few times. But, hey, from what I read, he was a great lay. Maybe that made up for it?
Overall, this is the book if you are looking for porn. That's it. And, hey, sometimes porn is fun. My hubs fully approves of me reading it. Especially when he remembers the Spring of me reading 25 books in a row that sucked and left me annoyed. He likes the porn-reading better. -
4 ~Alpha Male~ Stars****
(ARC kindly provided by the author)
A hot Hockey Star, a strong independent woman, tons of heat and sexual chemistry. You better be ready for Something So Right because this book will leave you panting...
Parker is a divorced mother of two. She married her high school sweetheart and got her heart broken when she discovered he was having an affair. After that, she's lost all hope about ever loving again.
Her second love, after her kids, is Hockey. After her painful divorce, her father gave her the reigns of the family business, a Hockey rink. Ever since Parker took control over it, the business has been thriving. One of her new business ventures for the rink has been a rehab for hockey players. She helps professional players get back in shape, after injuries.
Parker loves her life, but there is something missing, even if she doesn't know what it is. The minute that hockey superstar Cooper Stone walks into the doors of her rink, she is about to find out what exactly she has been missing, and her life is about to change forever...
Cooper's life is Hockey. He is sexy, and also very cocky. Cooper and Parker don't instantly like each other, but the lust will hit them so hard, they will have no choice than to stop and take notice of what is happening between them.
Copper is a total alpha male, he knows what he wants, and he goes and gets it, and of course he wants Parker. He understands she's been hurt in the past, but he needs to make her his, and he's willing to do everything he can to show her what real love looks like, but that doesn't mean it will be easy.
This story is very sexy and heartwarming. Parker's kids added so much more depth to an already wonderful plot. Not a lot of angst, but a lot of steam, Natasha Madison's debut novel will sure win the hearts of many readers, that are looking for a hot romance.

I got to read an early copy of this book by debut author, Natasha Madison and was blown away that this was her first book. Overall, it's a funny, engaging, hot and heartfelt story.

Unpopular opinion alert!
I cannot stand this book and the characters in it and I am DNF'ing it now at 25%. I tend to give the books I DNF only 1 star, so 1 star it is!
*****************************
My main reason for disliking the book is I hate this kind of writing: too much telling but not showing. And because it is from the 1st person point of view, we never know what the as*hole hero thinks. In my opinion, all douche-bag heroes must have their chapters from their point of view so that the readers can connect to them. I hated this hero!
I didn't understand how they started a relationship, I didn't feel the chemistry and I didn't witness the development of their relationship all because of its telling but not showing.
Cooper is a hero I didn't like up until the part I DNF'ed the book so I don't know if he gets charming later??!!
There isn’t even one thing about him that was attractive to me. He is described as a hot man, OK, but nothing he does or say is attractive or sexy. He is OTT domineering.
He is cocky, arrogant and rude. He orders around all the time, and with the way he speaks, frankly it felt like he was imitating Max from The Gamble by Kristen Ashley… Ha ha, as if anyone else could be Max! It requires great talent and originality to create an as*hole hero that has a charm; this one didn't have the charm.
And way worse, for me, there was no sign of him being attracted to the heroine and there is no point of view from the hero that will tell us what he thinks and that’s why, the way their relationship started was a “laugh-out-loud” moment for me – just ridiculous!!!
Here’s how it begins in a friends' house they were both invited to:
He enters the bathroom after her and locks the door!
“You’re dating Adam?” I was a bunch of things—shocked, aggravated, and turned on. Yes, I arrived with Adam, but that was only so I could drink and enjoy myself. I know it might have seemed we were together when we walked in holding hands, but the driveway is cobblestone. With the type of footwear I was wearing it was like a death trap, so I held his hand to make sure I didn’t sprain anything.
“No,” I whispered. “He just drove me here so I don’t have to worry about driving home.” I felt his breath on my ear, on my neck. I felt it everywhere. My body was one big fat nerve, and I just wanted to turn my head and make my lips meet his. “I’m your ride home,” he said, and in that moment, he pressed his erection into my core. With him scooping down and me on wedges it was the perfect height, and if I just rubbed a little up and down, I was pretty sure I could have my happy ending.
“You drive me crazy,” he said, and I could swear he was softly kissing my neck, so of course, being the semi drunk hussy that I was, I gave him more access, which then made him really go in for it where he lightly bit and then sucked.
“You don’t even like me.” I panted, my hands grabbing onto his shirt. It was too much. The dark, his smell, my senses on overload.
“I like you plenty.” And just when I went to open my mouth to talk back, his lips met mine.
So here in this dialogue that went on in the darkness of the bathroom, we learn that he was rude and condescending all the time but he liked her plenty. Huh, who would have guessed?!
From then on, he continues to order her around but it is now a bit different. “Call me when you get home” type of orders. etc.
In addition to disliking how they started to be together, I also didn’t witness the development of their relationship as it was usually a summary of events such as the one below:
The days fly by. We’ve gotten into a routine together. He always meets me in the morning with a cup of coffee, because I can never ever get here before him, and if I’m honest I don’t even fucking try. He earns his first peck on the lips of the day. We train for three hours, and I’m always waiting for him when he gets out of the shower. I have to admit I think about him under the water, sometimes tempted to go with him, but I’m not doing that.
And here I am too bored to continue.
The reviews I have read say he is really good with her children etc. but his ex causes a lot of drama later on… Well, I don’t know, I am DNF’ing it now because I cannot stand the book anymore.
I read “Tempt the Boss” from this writer and it was a fun and light read but this one wasn’t my cuppa at all. Sorry... -
“Tempt the Boss” was the first book I read by this author, and in it Cooper Stone was introduced! I became intrigued by this professional hockey player and had to read his story right away! His book is a series that was written before Tempt the Boss and I hoped it would have the same humour that was in the first book I read. Even though this book wasn’t as humorous, it still was sexy, low angst and a feel good read! I enjoyed it very much and will continue on with this delightful series!
-
I don't normally like older women/younger men storyline but I have to say I loved Cooper and his devotion to the heroine. Parker was such a great mother and a strong heroine and totally deserved Cooper. Great uplifting story.
-
Me through this book
”Babe, we just started”
Uhm… interesting, let’s see how this babe thing goes
”I’ll bring supper. Be there at five, babe”
Ugh, I really can’t with this, make it stop.
- 118 babes later - (one fucking hundred and eighteen TIMES later, guys, for real)
*googles how to get your partner to call you babe*
Because you would think I was tired of him calling her babe and bossing her around, but NO, I wasn’t because obviously I’m wrong in the head. -
3.5 stars
I loved how the hero was with the h, he was OTT possesive and protective with the h, I loved his relationship with her kids. But I think it was too much ow drama I thought this ow was going to be done by the time the H let her sleep in his house because she didn't want to drive all night back to her house when he should've kicked her ass to the curb but no she kept coming back. I was going bitch really?? She was worse than a damn zombie always coming back! He kept putting her in her place even the h put her in her place a couple of time but she kept coming back. Lol!!!
At least it had a nice epilogue. -
Hot Hot Hot
This book was just brilliant. I enjoyed everything about it. The story is sucked in from page one it was so addictive. I first met Cooper and Parker in Tempt The Boss which i fell in luv with as well. The author really know how to create hot sexy men with dirty mouths God I luvd Coopers character. Parker is sassy and very sexy I really liked her as well she keeps Cooper on his toes. They are so hot together as well the sexual tension is smoking. I would highly recommend this book it was great. I liked al the characters in this book Matthew and Alison are great kids play. Meghan and Tom are another couple that are hot. Meghan is just as sassy as Parker put them together and they are so funny I luvd them.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. I guess it’s the first book by the author so as first books go it’s ok. However, this was pimped to no end by big authors and bloggers alike and it definitely did not live to my expectations.
As far as sports romances go, the hockey part was pretty accurate, even though she says he won the “Hart Memorial Art Ross trophy“ and those are definitely two separate trophies, at least she didn’t ended the Stanley Cup playoffs in a shootout like another book I read. So points for that.
The romance aspect is definitely where the book fell flat for me along with the lack of character development. This was very insta, insta-lust, insta sex, and really other than lots and lots of sex, there’s not much of romance. The lead is supposed to be super alpha, but he just curses a lot, like every other word, but other than that there’s zero depth. Their romance consists of lots and lots if sex, and the scenes are kinda weird, like they constantly talk dirty, but say weird things like “Your cock is getting bigger, Cooper.” in the middle of sex, it was always awkward and a little try-hard.
And then there’s no real drama, there’s an ex, and she’s the owner’s daughter and shows up all the time and they all handle situations in the most juvenile of ways, even the owner of the team sounds so juvenile, just unbelievable. The entire thing is OTT and hard to believe, not to mention the drama set up from the prologue is resolved half way through the book without much fanfare and the other 50% is more sex and just fluff. I guess I’m just over books with very little substance. So this was ok overall. I’m still on the fence on whether I want to keep reading this series. -
Now don't we all like a good romp? I'm sure we can all answer with yes. But this there are no words but here goes.
Yes a book can have too much sex in it. This is just too much. Where is the plot? I read on and on and I still couldn't find.
I am defeated at 34 % I've stopped reading. This is my second attempt the first one was where I couldn't even get past the sample. Bugger as well as I have the second one to read.
Is saying Babe 118 times in the book too much? Well it was for me.
By the way I am tickled pink for all of you who love the book. -
2.75 "seen it all" stars
Hmm...
So, I have recently read my first book by this author
Tempt The Boss and i loved it, it seemed fresh, hilarious and fun...
So, naturally, I wanted to read more books by this author hoping for the same effect BUT by the "same effect" i meant my feelings and impressions after the actual reading and yet I got the literal same effect from the storyline!
It was like i was having a deja vu!
The storyline, like I said was the same as in Tempt the boss, apart from the main character being a high profiled hockey player instead of a bilionare CEO, with the initial characterisation being also the same, except for the occasional naive and absurdly immature dialogues and actions of the same characters...thus, final result for me was *sigh in disappointment* and well *roll eyes* on occasion...concluding that seemed like a sadder copy of the mentioned book Tempt the boss.
(When in fact the possible truth is, this was written before and if i would have read it before, Tempt the boss would in fact be in this position regared as a failed copy LOL) so lets just say, I m glad I read it in the order presented.
There were parts that worked for me and those parts definitely saved this story from flanking miserably. -
Edit 5th August 2017.
Older heroine doesn't bother me anymore - I like this trope!
GO GO, GIRLS!!!
Will reread it soon 😉
16 October, 2016.
I loved this book!
Enjoyable read, likable characters, and fortunately strong heroine!
She was 5 years older than the H, normally it bothers me, but in this case I could live with it.
Some OW drama, but no cheating Safe.
The hero was great.
Can`t wait to read “Hell and Back” -
****3.5 Stars****
I liked this one but I did have a very hard time with the female narrator in the intimate scenes. She sounded like a porn star acting out a bratty school girl fantasy.
The storyline was interesting if a little predictable. The characters were original and I liked their connection and interaction with her kids.
I will definitely consider reading/listening to more stories from this author. -
Squeezing by to make it a 4 Star!
***Full disclosure/warning*** This has OW/OM EX drama and lots of it…….The hero is an alpha caveman……And this is super sexy on the side of nasty sometimes (not necessarily a bad thing if that is something you like)
I’m going to sound like I have a split personality during this review because some things I very much enjoyed and other parts were annoying.
At the beginning of the book I wasn’t so sure about Cooper. I like an alpha male as much as the next gal but he was pretty caveman-ish for me. The more I read the more I adored him mainly because his relationship with Parker’s kids was super endearing.
I don’t mind a bit of OW/OM drama since many times it is what makes a book interesting. I won’t say who it was but the OW/OM in this book was grating on my last nerve!!! And one of the main characters needed a smack upside the head…….I don’t care what the situation is an EX of any kind should NEVER stay the night if you are already involved seriously with someone else. I will let you read the book to understand what I mean.
I will absolutely be reading more in this series but I completely admit I went back and forth on this book. For the most part though, I did like the story. -
Wow what a hidden gem this turned out to be, absolutely loved it! Excited for more from this author.

“Baby, you can send me away, but this thing, you and me, it’s happening.”
With the absolute PERFECT BLEND of alpha, asshole, and sweetheart, Natasha Madison brings us some of the best heroes around! It seems like I’ve been waiting my whole life to experience the magnetism THAT IS Cooper Stone! I started in the middle of this series and I’ve already been introduced to the ‘family man’ Cooper, so it was nice to go back and see where it all began. I gotta say, if I wasn’t in love with him before, after devouring SOMETHING SO RIGHT, I’m head over heels, completely smitten and totally drunk on this delicious man! Cooper and Parker’s story filled my heart with such joy and the minute I finished it, I wanted to start it all over again! I want to experience the feistiness that is Parker Moore. I want to experience the gruffness and stubborn delight that is Cooper Stone. I WANT IT ALL! Natasha Madison brings beauty and strength to this book and I felt it page after page. As these two characters were falling madly in love (and being stubborn about it) I was FALLING right along with them. I was so happy to start at the beginning of this series and experience just how far Ms. Madison has come. I’m proud of her talent and I’m in love with her boldness. I will NEVER get enough and she will always have a SUPER FAN in me.

Our heroine was cheated by her husband and is still afraid of new relationships.
When she meets the hero for the first time she doesn't have good impression of him but even then the two feel an attraction.
She's older and has two children and he is a famous and coveted by women.
I really enjoyed the story, but I thought the drama with his ex was dragged into the story. His ex seemed the monster of the horror movies that always comes back for another episode. The woman wouldn't give up ever.
Recommend! -
Warning: contains minor spoilers.
As far as debut novels go, I wish I could’ve enjoyed this one more. Unfortunately, Something So Right underwhelmed me in almost every way imaginable. It read more like a first draft, in that it was unpolished and in serious need of proper editing. I found the writing to be pedestrian, lacking a certain depth. The narrative was more diary-like in its presentation—rife with telling instead of showing. In a way, the author talked at me instead of to me with her writing.
The flow of the story felt off, for lack of a better word. Everything seemed to be disjointed and rushed. Cooper was a jerk for no apparent reason, but only in regard to Parker. He went out of his way to be antagonist and rude, and then, days later, seemingly out of nowhere, he cornered Parker in a bathroom and shoved his tongue down her throat. At the same time, he started making demands of her, acting as if his past behavior was perfectly acceptable. From then on, the two were hot and heavy—pretty much a done deal. Which is fine, except, well, we’re barely a quarter of the way through.
Everything about Cooper was over-the-top. He was arrogant, and domineering, and extremely possessive. And yet, somehow, we’re to believe that this alpha-male, a man who has no problem getting his way, couldn’t manage to show his ex-girlfriend the door when she came to town. And uninvited, no less. Not only was he incapable of getting rid of her, but he allowed her to stay the night, where she then stripped naked and crawled into bed with him.
I liked the fact that Parker was written as a feisty woman with a backbone, but the way she conducted herself at times not only made it hard for me to like her, but forced me to question her judgment.
And as for hockey—well, I know next to nothing about the sport. However, I had to suspend my disbelief on a few things, including the fact that injured professional NHL players were being rehabilitated by the heroine, whose only qualification seemed to be that she owned a hockey rink.
Essentially, the characters were poorly drawn clichés who lacked depth and substance, so much so that I found it hard to care about them. Furthermore, there wasn't much of a plot, and what little there was seemed to succumb to an overabundance of smut.
The author also had a habit of chopping a complete sentence into several fragments—“Right. On. The. Lips. In. Broad. Daylight”—that I found to be obnoxious and, ultimately, contributed to the downfall of what could’ve been a decent enough read.
Overall, the drama and lack of connection between the main characters—along with a host of other issues—detracted me from truly enjoying this book. Also, let me just say that I can appreciate that writing a book is no easy feat. But, having said that, I have to wonder if a contributing factor in the amount of glowing reviews has anything to do with the author riding the coattails—more or less—of a somewhat big-name indie author, someone who just so happens to be her best friend. Harsh, I know, but I can’t help but call it like I see it. That’s just my personal opinion, though, so take it for what it’s worth. -
I don't think this author is for me. While the plot itself was enjoyable (hence the 1.5 stars rounded up to 2), the execution was off. Not a fan of the writing style - too juvenile for me. It felt like I was reading melodramatic teenage drama rather than reading about adults in their 30's.

After I read my first Natasha Madison book, Tempt the Boss I was instantly curious about Cooper and Parker. For some stupid reason I didn't read it right away and I am firmly regretting my decision now that I've finally dived into it. This couple really grabbed my attention and I couldn't put this book down once I started. It had some drama and angst, a lot of sweet moments, and a romance that made me swoon. I would definitely recommend this book and all of this authors other work. -
I know it's romance fiction so maybe this is a silly question - is there such a thing as too much sex in a book? If such a thing is possible the answer might be "yes" for this book. I'm open to hot and heavy scenes as much as the next reader but for me it seemed to take away from the MCs and story development. It was basically a non-sex scene alternating with a sex scene over and over. I wish there had been more character/story development because there was potential there for a really good story: a divorced woman with 2 kids whose been cheated on and a younger, hot, alpha professional athlete.
While I liked this new author's style she also felt like a combination of other authors I've read - Lani Vale, Kristen Ashley, et al. Nothing necessarily wrong with that but I definitely felt a dejavu feeling as I went through the story. I didn't get a sense of her own unique style.
What I didn't like:
1. The ex storyline played out way too long.
2. One minute the MCs hate each other, the next (is it even a week?) they're doing everything but having sex. This from a woman who was blindsided in a divorce, has 2 kids, and hasn't dated since the divorce. The jump was a little abrupt. -
3 stars, but would have been more if the hero hadn’t allowed his psycho ex into his home. Not much of a spoiler here because the scene where the heroine finds the ex in the hero’s home is a prologue and then the story goes back in time to when they first met. I just found his reasons and actions in that moment to be SO unlikely and totally random. Just such a total piece of contrived drama. If the author had written that portion differently, I would have enjoyed this book more.
Also, the ex was just WAY too crazy for my personal tastes. I mean… wow… the author took that shit way too far. Especially that last scene with the ex was like 🥴🥴🥴 super cringe.
Safe overall; heroine has only ever been with her ex husband who cheated on her - she was celibate for 2 years since the divorce. Hero was with the crazy ex for 5 years (!!!) but mostly long distance (tbh, this part of the story didn’t make sense to me). He broke up with her a few months before the story started. He was a man whore in the past but had grown up by the start of this book. Hero’s ex causes a lot of OW drama, she’s batshit crazy. Heroine’s ex also causes some drama. No scenes with OM/OW, no cheating. -
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this one! It was so much more fun than I expected!
You know that giddy butterfly feeling you get when you read something special or something. I got this at the beginning when Cooper became alpha possessive about Parker. But at times it really bothered me a bit, because sometimes it worked a bit on my nerve.
I hate Monica with a passion doesn't she have self respect? Like does she really think she is so special? And why does her father keep up with her horrible behavior. I'm so glad that Parker doesn't let her become a victim but pushes back.
This is one that's fast paced and a with a side of drama but not overly much.
There is one thing that I notice even in real life, when you lose something you had when someone else has it then they want that back.. I don't know why but it's so known that I expected that. -
I'm sorry but Cooper is a stupid piece of trash to me. I mean what man let's his ex-girlfriend have unfiltered access to his personal home where she is able to park her car in his driveway, and get inside of his house. Not only that, but in order to avoid a straightforward conversation (where he just needed to tell her to leave and admit that he's in a committed relationship), he takes a shower, leaving his ex unattended in his home. Not ONCE, but MULTIPLE times. Furthermore, like the first two weren't mistake enough, letting your ex stay the night and being polite to her when she climbs on top of you NAKED in the middle of the night. Stop being polite to people who don't matter.
Only after hearing that your real girlfriend stopped by your house to see your ex-girlfriend in a t-shirt, does he have an "oh shit" moment where he cuts the polite behaviour with his ex. Too little too late. Most of all, what pissed me off was then having the audacity to say to your actual girlfriend that "nothing happened." SOMETHING HAPPENED ALRIGHT. He's still accountable for being an idiot. Ugh but it wasn't unforgivable. It's only because the book is like 50% unnecessarily longer than it should be that him doing that goes to the back of a readers mind because he actually gets his shit together and really pursues her. -
DNF
I like Natasha Madison book, Tempt the Boss. I thought the hero is swoon worthy by being father figure. However in Something So Right, its just not working for me.
What does not work is the chemistry between the hero and heroine. Their insta lust is not sexy. I feel more sexual harrastment. And I can not believe the heroine wanting more.
I just DNF this book.
