Having been open about his faith and Christian morals, he knows he is a target. So when he ends up on top of Maddie Grace, dazed and in a stupor from concussion, the media pounce on the visual images and decide to make a mountain out of a mole hill. Falling For Maddie Grace Reviews

an entertaining read and excellent for overseas readers because it gives an insight into our Aussie culture.

Why have I kept reading (and reviewing) romance books lately? This is not because I've become a sudden fan but more because many of the Australian/NZ Christian authors in our FB group write in this genre. I'm trying both to support them and understand the context that I'm writing fiction in.
I have earlier read a Meredith Resce book that I really enjoyed but the writing for that was not yet 5 star. This book has reached that 5 star level.
I give it 4 star because I'm still not that keen on romance and the novella format felt too short for me.
If you love romance and would love something very Australian (the context is Australian Rules football) then this book might be for you. I loved the glossary of Australian terms to help non-Aussies understand some of the culture.
Keep writing Meredith. I'm hoping for some novels tackling some serious issues. This novella hinted at some that I would have loved to see developed. -
I liked the premise of the storyline. It may have been the shortness of the novella but it didn’t seem like it was fleshed out enough. Everything happened quickly. The writing was good. I liked the Australian setting. However, to be very honest I have no idea what sport was played. It was Rugby or maybe a form of soccer? Also, I gave it less stars because of the bluntness of the romance scenes. Maybe it is the difference between American and Australian proprieties. Also, there’s no real depth in the Christianity of these character’s lives (maybe the author would’ve fleshed this out in a longer story). But being a virgin and a gossiping in church scene doesn’t make you a Christian. I would not recommend my teenage niece read this.

I read this as part of the anthology: Love, Faith & Tender Kisses.
I loved, loved, loved this story. There was lots of tension, including pressure from the media to make something more of an accidental encounter, and a good message about the expectations that being a Christian in the public eye brings to an innocent friendship. There was nothing that either of the characters could do to redeem their broken reputation, except hold to the truth. Plenty of sparks between the potential lovers and lots of witty phrases to add to the enjoyment. I've read a few other titles by this author and I wasn't disappointed. -
A fun, quick, sporty read.
I bought Ms Resce's "Four Short Stories" collection from Koorong a while ago and finally read Maddie and Zac's story.
What a fun romance! Maddie was professional on and off the AFL ground, as was Zac. I liked the sweetness between them, forged from years of working on the same footy team as young people, and despite the trying circumstances of their "reunion", their friendship blossomed organically into more.
I really enjoyed Ms Resce's writing style, the banter between characters, and the openness about sexuality in our Christian walk. Refreshing! -
Terrific
Maddie was the ref for the football game, women are not usually in that position. She is refing a game when she gets hurt by a p!ayer. Zac was concerned for sincere he use to play for her dad. They get thrown together because of their injuries. But he gets so much grief because people think its more. He believes in waiting till he's married. -
Clean with moral
I enjoyed the values of the main characters. Caring , concern and match made on the field. The Aussie setting was a nice cultural insight. -
Sweet, sporty novella. I might've liked to see it developed more; maybe it'd have made a nice novel.

Wow.
Casual friends until the press, and their families, speculate about a romance that they hadn't even considered before. -
Absolutely delightful ♡

Fun
A quick, fun read. I enjoyed the story of Zac and Maddie. It was refreshing to see characters who acted as real couples in love. The author didn't need to be graphic to feel the love and anticipation this couple felt. Thanks for keeping it real!
